Two Words: Taco Tuesdays! Chain Tex-Mex fast-casual joint featuring tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and flautas (among other things). You order up front and food is run out to your table when ready. Drink refills are available upon request though they don't have a self-serve station. This location is the one closest to my house, and it is on the small side. It gets crowded at busy times, particularly on taco Tuesdays, and it may be hard to find a table if you're eating in. They have a signature hot sauce bar with a dozen-plus hot sauces ranging from "are you trying to tickle me" to "you may not die but you may wish you had" in heat index (my scale, not theirs). I'm usually on the upper end of the scale but their top tier is too hot for me. There's something for just about everyone - and they occasionally have some really odd and interesting sauces available as they rotate the choices periodically. Best of all, if you REALLY like anything on their hot sauce bar, you can buy a bottle for home! The two-taco deal with a drink on Tuesdays is a great, inexpensive lunch, but don't overlook their other menu items. The burritos can be ordered topped with a variety of sauces and other toppings (veggies etc). The flautas are really good too - rolled up tortillas filled with meats and deep-fried, served with queso, sour cream, guacamole and veggies. They have a good variety of meats (2 types of chicken, ground beef, & carnitas) for fillings - plus a veggie option. This is a good solid spot for a quick, tasty lunch or dinner. Pro-tip: They always seem to skimp on the carnitas. I've stopped ordering it as a result. They charge more for the carnitas and I always get half as much meat as the other options...or less. Once it was just a few strings of pork per taco. This seems to be a company policy because it has happened in more than one location (this is one of them). After a failed order/delivery from uber eats I called and explained what happened and Mya was so sweet and attentive. I came by to pick up a new order and she was so kind not only in attention to detail but how she packaged the food thinking of my little ones. Her service towards a stranger demonstrated what a beautiful person she is and in doing so lifted your business. This is one of my daughter's favorite places to eat. The food here is well prepared and there's quite a large variety to choose from, but for her, the sauces are the deciding factor over other Tex-Mex eateries, and I tend to agree. Her preferred sauce is Smack my @ss and call me Sally. But what I love most is that they serve made-to-order food, using vegetarian, hormone-free chicken, steak, lard-free beans, and trans-fat-free cooking oil. On this visit, my "J" had chicken fingers, which include chips, a drink and Mott's® applesauce or a treat. As a mom, I gotta say I prefer theirs over others'. They're juicy and tender--and that goes for the chicken in my Chicken & Bean Chimichanga. The customer service is always great at this location. It's down the road from my job so I come in on my way to work somedays. If you have been to T.Flats before, the food is the same all around. But yea, back to customer service. Doesn't seem like they are killing themselves,to ask if you need anything else (unlike some of the other locations in the area). They have that nice, small, slushy ice like Chick-fil-A and Sonic. FOOD: I usually come here for the taco Tuesdaze deal - 2 tacos, chips & a drink for $6. I pay an extra $1 to get a fish taco, they also charge extra for steak. It's a great deal since the tacos are a nice size and you have toppings to choose from. I get everything on mine, including fresh jalapeños. I've been here a lot and tried different things, but one of my fave items is the blackened chicken flautas. Soo delicious!! It is a must try. I have been going to this Tijuana Flatts for the last 2 years and it keeps being Amazing every time I go there. Michael and JoJo are so Amazing with their customer service and are consistent with it. The food it so good and I love to be able to get what I want and it tastes so great. One of my favorite days to go is Thursday as Burrito bowls and burritos come with chips and a drink for $5.99. The best cheese in town with the chips that slightly taste like Dorritos Cool Ranch. They also have so many sauces you can add that can make you meal taste so different when you use them. On Tuesday they also have Taco Tuesday and 2 tacos, chips and drink are for $5.99, you really can't beat that. Expect to get great service, food and atmosphere every time you go! I am used to go to this location all the time I stop going because the customer service got really crappy tonight. I ordered meals for myself and my daughter I called spoke to the manager because my order was completely wrong. Let them know that I've been going there for years and he blatantly told me my order was wrong because my daughter ordered it wrong. I'm not happy or I will. I'll be going back. I am a sickly person. My husband and I come to this place for lunch and/or dinner WAY WAY more than I care to admit. It's right near our house, that's my excuse ;). I'd honestly be surprised if they didn't know us by name by now. Our service has always been great. Good food and a good price point. We come on Taco Tuesday a lot, but the line can get long and the place packed, so we also come many other times as well. I usually always get the two tacos with beef and black beans, along with chips and a drink, or sometimes refried beans and rice. I feel like they skimp a little on the tacos when it's Taco Tuesday, because every other time we go, the tacos are usually overflowing, except for on Taco Tuesday. We also usually share a large queso with chips. LOVE their queso! I've also had their beef and black bean quesadillas before and those were great as well. I was in the mood for quesadillas, guacamole, chips-n-Sally sauce & the cable channel called lifetime. I hoped the food would be worth the wait. I wasn't. My preference is for bold flavors but the burritos and tacos I had were "so-so". It may have been an off night for Tortilla Flats. That does happen. And normally, I will give a restaurant a second chance. I just don't feel like doing it this time. Too disappointing. I was actually very surprised by my dining experience at this Tijuana Flats location. I've been to this plaza 1,000 times since I work/live in the area and never took the leap to actually dine in. I'm not a huge Mexican food fan but when my co-worker suggested we come here for our weekly Friday lunch last week I figured I'd give it a try. They have a ton of menu items for those interested in burritos, chimichangas, tacos, and other Mexican/Tex-Mex fare. I went with a plain ole' blackened chicken salad and was actually surprised at how good it was. The vegetables were super fresh and the avocado ranch dressing option I tried was delicious! My co-worker ordered an appetizer of guacamole and chips for us to share and the guac was one of the best I've had that wasn't homemade! They serve it in a to-go container to make it more convenient to take home if you don't finish it. The chips were also very fresh! They have tons of hot sauce options ranging from normal/mild to 'you should probably wear gloves to handle this sauce' hot! If Mexican food and sauce options is your thing... this is the place to go! Tijuana sold me on the 4 stars due to their extremely friendly and helpful staff. They brought the food right out to you at the table and several employees consistently walked around cleaning plates, asking how we were doing, and if we needed any sauces or re-fills. Had the steak taco salad tonight ( which I've had before and It was delicious ). This time, not so much. The steak was cold, salad with obviously just thrown (slopped) together. The lettuce was either wilted and see-thru which happens when it has been frozen or it was black and gross. Not FRESH quality at all. The shell bowl wasn't crispy, even on the edges that were not touched by the other ingredients, old and stale? Also, the folks that ordered about 8 minutes after us were eating their food and we had to ask about ours. This was take out so I could not ask for a redo. I have been to this location twice and another location once and I love this chain. I find their options can appeal to all Mexican food fans, whether you want healthier options or the fully loaded burrito. On top of all of the great combinations, what has me drawn in are all the different sauces and salsas they offer for you try out with your meal. I generally get the queso and chips, the flautas, and my husbands gets one of their hefty burritos covered in cheese and sauce. However I have brought other people who are looking for a healthier option and they have the ability to choose a whole wheat tortilla and low fat sour cream, so I appreciate the flexibility they offer customers. The inside is decorated as if you are sitting inside a comic book, lots of loud colors and bright drawings and cartoon art. It is a great place to bring kids, they have kid meals that will work for the pickiest eater. This is definitely one of my go to Mexican spots, but it should be said this is more of a fast food option rather than a mom n pop slow food Mexican style place.
