Good tasty and fast with some healthy alternatives. Enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Ordered the carnitas salad and it was very good. It was also pretty healthy not slathered with heavy sauces. Other selections ordered in my group were tacos and a burrito both of which I was informed were very good. I also enjoyed the selection of hot sauces, about a dozen from mild to XXX HOT and it was. I had to try it. Couldn't have a beer, I was on duty, but there is a small selection of bottled beers. AMAZING experience!! I took my boyfriend for his first time to this location and they were so accommodating! They made sure to go over the sauces, gave him Chips and salsa and were so pleasant. I LOVE TIJUANA FLATS!!!! I could eat there weekly. I usually get a chicken and black bean salad and it is always so good. My GF gets enchiladas and they are oh so tasty. I LOVE the hot sauce bar. I am fully in love with T-Flats and this location is right next to my parents apartment so everytime I go home I have to visit a few times too many :) The service at this location is always great, very attentive and the food always comes out quickly. The dining room is always clean and the sauce bar fully stocked. But the best part about any T-flats is their delicious food!! I am obsessed with their chicken because its very flavorful and always delicious so I always have a hard time deciding which item to get but chicken is always the winner. The hard tacos are huge and crunchy and the wheat soft tacos have a great different taste that the flour tacos cannot compete with. The flautas are to die for but you need to be in the mood to eat something filling and kind of unhealthy because they are deep fried but when you are in the mood, like after a night of drinking, they are perfect! And you can't ever go wrong with the burritos because they are always the perfect size and filled with fresh toppings. When we moved to Texas I was very sad that I would have to miss out on my weekly taco tuesday at T-Flats but I am happy to be able to visit as much as possible when I visit my parents. read more

At Tijuana Flats, it is all about serving up some good ol' Tex-Mex cuisine. A Florida original, they now have location all across the state and are steadily moving into other territory. Based upon the "fast casual" restaurant concept, you walking in, check out the menu, place your order and wait for them to bring out your food for you. Of course while you wait, you can check out the hot sauce bar and pick your choosings among many flavors from mild to super duper hot. The Tamarac location is situated in a quiet shopping center with nothing more than a mattress store next door (there might be other store but I have failed to notice). The decor is very colorful and vibrant and follows the scheme of all the other Tijuana Flats locations. The ambiance is fun, so much so that you may feel the urge to throw back some tequila shots, but unfortunately, no liquor is served here. On the plus side though, they offer wine and beer and we all know that is the next best thing. Of course they have Sangria, Barefoot Wines, Modelo and Coronas. Another fun offer at Tijuana Flats are the Taco Tuesdaze ($4.99 for 2 tacos, chips & a drink) and Throwback Thursdaze ($5.99 for a burrito, chips & a drink). Probably almost every time I go, I have to get the steak flautas. Although fried and fattening, you cannot deny fat tastes good and this dish right here, taste so good. Not only are their ingredients fresh, I also like the fact that even though they have a set menu, you do have the choice of flour or wheat tortillas and the option to add the all the fixings you like. The flautas come with a side of Queso, guacamole and sour cream but you can select your veggies and choose to add beans (black or refried) and rice. I being the glutton I am get it all, but bear in mind they have vegetarian options of everything and vegan options as well. Another great menu item is the Bangin' Chicken Burrito. Imagine this, crispy chicken tossing in what they call a smack my ass sauce, loaded into a huge burrito of grilled onions and green peppers, tomato, cheese and ranch dressing. Need I say more. This was my first time trying it and it was really good so don't be afraid to try different menu items. My experience has been consistently good so definitely check out Tijuana Flat. I never used to be a fan of Tijuana flats, but this location changed my mind. The company's newly updated menu helps too. The employees here are friendlier than at the location in Coral Springs and a manager almost always checks on us when we dine in. We are big fans of their chicken flautas and their burrito bowls. If you've never had their cookie dough flautas, those are a must. The order is big enough to share for maybe 3 or 4 people. read more

The only problem, which I guess is a good problem to have, is that the restaurant is not big enough. If you go there during anytime when they are going to be busy you are not going to be able to get a seat. But if you are luck enough to be able to get one then you are in for quite a treat. On Tuesdays there is no other place you should be. For $4.99 you can get 2 tacos, chips and a drink. The tacos can be either hard or soft or a mixture of both. You can get ground beef, chicken, steak or carnitas. The tacos some standard with all the toppings, so if you don't want anything you will have to tell them. The service here is top notch. They are friendly and very attentive to details. They are also nice enough to refill your drink while you are still sitting at your table. I'm used to authentic Mexican food, having been to Tijuana and coming from Chicago, so this place was a disappointment. The sauces are great (if you're eating stir fry or wings) but none of them really compliment a taco. Honestly, Chipotle is much better. When she asked for our drink order i said "horchata" because it's a staple Mexican drink. She looked at me like I was crazy and had no idea what that even was. Can't say we'll be going here again. Came in with the family for a total of 6 people. Ian the manager was awesome and made us felt so welcome they weren't that busy and instead of just slacking off they decided to dedicate themselves to make sure everything was great for us. My wife wanted extra jalapeño on her food and I didn't want any. Unfortunately mine came with extra too, however when Josh the cook found out he quickly made me a correct meal and came out personally to apologize. Take your receipt and check your food. Ordered dinner for 4 on TF phone app and sent my wife to pick up with debit card I paid with. Girl up front did not cross check debit card and just said they never received the order. Wife calls me and my phone is in other room and I do not hear it ringing. Wife returns home upset with me for the fiasco. I call and the manager answers and checks to say the food is ready. Manager is nice, apologizes and offers to re-make order. Two hours after ordering and I'm eating cold beef tacos listening to my older kid complain that he didn't get his black beans, my younger boy saying his nachos are soggy because they put the cheese sauce on the chips instead of a side container while my wife is still "discussing" with me the importance of having my phone with me to answer in case of an emergency. First timer: They got my to go order wrong, which is a total bummer when you get home and find out. The steak enchiladas were the absolute worst. Tortillas were all crumbly, there was practically nothing inside, and you'd have needed a magnifying glass to see any sauce. However, the crunchy steak taco was FABULOUS. Nice thick tortilla that didn't break in a million pieces on contacting your teeth; fresh jalapeño slices, plenty of steak, and they have quite an array of really hot sauces to top it off. I have been to Tijuana Flats several times before, but never to this location. I'm happy to say that my lunch was delicious and it wasn't even Taco Tuesday. I went with my husband's recommendation and ordered the taco salad with blackened chicken. He called our order in and it was ready 7 minutes later when we arrived. The chicken was moist and well-seasoned and in combination with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese and guacamole was very good (I opted out of the black olives and jalapenos). I was not impressed with the PowerLite queso that came with it, but did enjoy the avacado ranch dressing. I also like that it came with some tortilla chips since I like their sweet chili sauce. Overall, it was a good value and normal sized portion for lunch. The staff at this location was also very friendly, so I would definitely come back. read more

Middling experience. Staff is distant and under-involved for an empty venue. Food is sustenance. Much emptier than it used to be when it opened. The counter cash register suggests a 20% tip to the passive order taker, which you can adjust up a bit or down a bit but it's not clear how to decline. Call me old fashioned, but a 20% tip at the counter BEFORE service (eg delivery to your table) is a bit forward. Does staff spit in your food if you choose instead to leave cash at the table? Tijuana Flats is a chain, taco and burrito restaurant. Seems pretty standard. The food is consistent for the chain, which is always delicious. However, this specific location has some of the friendliest and nicest staff of any restaurant, regardless of price range. They are always kind, funny, engaging, and fast. I can't say enough nice things about the people that work here. My only criticism is that the dining area is too small for the business the restaurant does. Sometimes it is impossible to find a seat, especially on Taco Tuesday. I would highly recommend this to anyone! read more

First time eating here, I work at an authentic Mexican restaurant myself so I knew what I was looking for. I got a combo (drink, rice, refried beans, and 3 tacos. The woman who took the order was very polite as where the rest of the staff. I ordered for take out and Stephanie checked up on me until my order was ready. The girl was very focused and attentive to every table from what I could see in the very short wait I was there. The food was good, not very authentic and though I was warned that the corn tortillas were not a great choice I chose it anyway because I love authentic corn tortillas. These tortillas where very crumbly and the taste was very off . If I could change anything it would be the corn tortillas, different tortillas and smaller in size!
