I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but after such a great experience today, I had to. Ashley, who is a trainer, took our order and had such an amazing aura from the moment we walked in. She was so bubbly, friendly, and patient--answering all of our questions and really making the whole experience enjoyable. Alex, the manager, also came by to check on our food, and both he and Ashley made us feel genuinely taken care of. The food itself was super hot and fresh--the chips honestly tasted like they had just come out. Alex was wonderful to talk to as well--we even had a quick conversation about both having lived in St. Augustine at some point, which was a fun connection. We had already been having a great morning, and this was just the perfect continuation of our day. Experiences like this are exactly why it's worth recognizing the people who go above and beyond. Terrible experience. I came in and ordered street tacos to go. I ordered steak and shrimp, which is a $1.50 uncharge each. The restaurant was very chaotic and the wait took forever. Service was intentional, but lacking. I waited for over 20 minutes for tacos. I was in a rush to get back to work. Upon arriving back, I realized they gave me someone else's order, which was not comparable to what I ordered. I didn't have the time or energy to try to make the hectic staff fix it. I was a little skeptical to give TJ another try since a different location was not great, but we were in the area and it sounded good. We were pleasantly surprised and definitely one of their best locations! The restaurant is clean and organized. You feel welcomed as you walk in. The staff is attentive and happy to answer any questions. We got to meet the manager Charles and he was checking on clients and taking orders out as well. The food was good, not only was it made to order but the ingredients were fresh and well balanced. We had the option of having the churro bites made a bit after to make sure they were fresh and they sure were good and taste like a churro! That cinnamon sugar tops the flavor. Great location, like most of the others, they have a good bit of outside seating and it's a bit more spacious than it looks. Plenty of tables, booths and a pick-up window for online/call orders. Staff is great and they were offering churro samples while I was there. They even filled up Tervis to avoid a styro cup. Now that I found this location, I'll be there a lot. The only reason I am giving them two stars is because I love their food and the manager came out and spoke to me. My online order was supposed to be ready at 7:48. I walked in the door at about 7:40. Didn't expect my order to be up yet but also didn't expect my drink to be sitting in the pick up area, ice melting. They have a nice tv with the orders being prepared by name and the status of the order. My name isn't even on it. Ugh! Wait until after 7:48 and attempt to ask someone about my order status. One employee asks my name and if I ordered the steak bowl. I said yes and she disappeared into the back and not seen again until she is taking someone else their order. Not a word to me. Wait. Wait. Wait. Ask someone else about it. She sends out a manager. He says they're bagging it. Ok thanks for the communication. Goes a long way. Then Steven the new General Manager comes out to run interference and hand me a gift card. Nice touch! Upped it to 4 stars just because that's the way customer service should work. Great food and service with a smile. They are a little on the pricey side, but if you sign up for their emails, you can stay informed on the best days to go to get a deal. My fave thing to order is their steak quesadilla. I also love their crunchy tacos. The customer service here was impeccable and they are following social distancing and have a special area for takeout or deliveries. They will even run your food outside to you for contactless curbside. The hot sauce bar was open for those of you that love spicy. They also have prepackaged containers as well. Ordered from Yelp site for pick up. Chicken Burrito and two hard tacos. Burrito was fine, hard taco shells were so soft-like they were wet. Couldn't even eat the shells-ended up putting toppings over nachos in attempt to save meal. I've been coming to this Tijuana Flats for quite a long time. I've been a Taco Tuesday head since we got our first Tijuana in Central Florida. This location is pretty close to my house but even closer to my gym. The Altamonte location is closer to my house but since I'm at the gym throughout the week, I'll stop in and get lunch here after the gym frequently. Tijuana is my go-to place when I want something "cheap" but not fast food. Healthier options with "power lite" are great, especially because I count calories. Amy is amazing!! She's been working there for a long time and has always corrected any issues I've ever had with any orders. The staff, in general, are really nice at this location. I do recommend. read more

Not sure if short handed or just overwhelmed by number of customers but there were no offers of refills and after waiting at the counter for 5 minutes for a refill I had to reach around and get my own. I love tacos! And I especially love Tijuana Flats' tacos! And I really love them on Tuesdays when you get 2 tacos, chips and a drink for $4.99! You always get great food at a great price. And you never have to worry about whether or not its going to taste good. They are very consistent with how their food tastes. I don't do spicy, so I like that they leave all the spice on the hot sauce bar. Then you can add whatever level of spice you want to your food. I use the Smack My Sweet A$$ and Call Me Sally sauce - it is sweet with just a little spice. Its perfect for me! I particularly like this location because they have great service. Someone always greets you when you walk in the door. You can also place your order online and have it ready at a particular time. This is great because I can order my food before I leave work and have it ready when I get there. You also don't have to worry about your order getting messed up over the phone or having a hard time getting through. read more

We've been going to Tijuana Flats for years, and their flautas are my favorite of anywhere. A crispy flour tortilla wrapped around meat filling (ground beef for me - but they have a variety of choices), and Tijuana provides a variety of sauces (queso, sour cream, salsa, guacamole) to dip it in. Delish! My hubby gets the chimichanga, that's his favorite. For people that are hot sauce fanatics, this place has a good variety to choose from, with varying heat levels. They have cookie dough flautas for dessert that are ridiculously amazing. Usually when I pick up from them service is fast and friendly. It's a nice fast casual place to order from when you're in a hurry for some texmex food. read more

Tijuana flats is pretty consistent.. Unfortunately lately that consistency is on the lower end, not the worst. I'd say it has good options and flavors, love the vibe, new paint job and always the sauce bar, but the chips are always stale and generally no veg to add fresh taste even at a fairly early dinner hour. $40 for 2 burritos chips queso salsa and a good tip, well... I would prefer Chipotle or even Moe's for a fresher fast mex experience, I never go out of my way to eat here and I remember why, drive a few minutes for a better burrito or do yourself a favor and travel for a certain tako on mills. read more

(8/17) Order a burrito meal and I got rice and beans with a drink. The rice was hard and bland and my drink was watery and didn't taste good at all.. like why did I get a meal? Edit: I now sat down to eat my burrito and I ordered and paid extra for Queso and they barely put any on my food and the cheese was pretty much dried to my burrito. If you see my review of the store on Edgewater Dr., you'll notice that I prefer this store, that one and the one in Lake Mary. (Of course, those are the three I've been to the most, too.) I'm not sure if this always is the case, but this location seems to be kind of a "test" store for new menu items. A few years back, the company was testing out some new dishes to see what the customers' reception would be. This store, for a limited time, was offering a chicken Caesar wrap or burrito and at least two other items. I think one of the other two might've been the "Bangin' Chicken" burrito. I made a few visits to this location while they were testing these potential new items out and was able to try the aforementioned two burritos, both of which I enjoyed. I don't make it up to this one very much anymore since I now live in College Park and T.F. has a location within walking distance of my house, so if I'm craving T.F. then that's the one I head to. However, if I'm in the Longwood area and am craving T.F., I certainly won't think twice about stopping by at this store. The service I've received here in the past has been great, the quality of the food is as great as it is at the other locations and this store is very convenient to the nearby neighborhoods and businesses. Oh, I almost forgot - the items the company was testing out at this store and a few select other locations now seem to be fixtures on the menu. WOW. I wasn't expecting such good food from a place like this. I really enjoyed the salad that I got here. The portions are HUGE though. I was visiting my cousin in Orlando when she suggested going here for a quick bite. To be honest, I'm really unenthused about Mexican food at this point in my life. Most of the time it's just a lot of beans and oils thrown on a plate together. Although Tijuana Flats isn't the most authentic Mexican food you'll ever have, it IS a decent Tex-Mex restaurant. We don't have a Tijuana Flats where we live...nowhere near. But, Tijuana Flats was always our favorite when we lived in Florida, so we still love to find one anytime we are ANYWHERE in Florida. And, we have eaten at a lot of them all over the state, over many years (like 15+). One thing we always appreciated was the consistency oF their food and service. This time, things have changed a bit. The service here was good and friendly. But, the quality and Value of the meal has seriously declined. We were in a hurry, so we just all ordered chicken flautas. Pretty basic, but it's always been a winner. Two of us, including me, received flautas that were literally just puffed up, fried tortilla that just crumbled in our hands. And, they've shrunk the size of them. This trip they were like 1 1/2 inches long...at least one was only an inch long...they've kind of gradually shrunk down over the years. That's disappointing, but receiving fried air basically is unacceptable. The chips were good...still love the crushed ice...the guacamole was good, although a little too heavy handed on the lime. Oh my goodness! So delicious! I can't even begin to explain how much I missed T-flats when I recently moved to NM. You would think New Mexico would have some good Mexican or at least Tex-mex food especially being so close to both Mexico and Texas but we did live in a more remote town of NM known as Carlsbad and it had a real slim selection for any Mexican style food, even some of the authentic places there did not compare anywhere near the Tex-mex food here an Tijuana. Even with the limited sauce menu that they have right now due to Covid was very satisfactory! I do really like the sweet and spicy flavor so the Smack Sweet Sauce really made a big difference in the tacos I ordered tasting so very savory. Also the Queso they have there can be pretty hard to beat anywhere else. I literally drench my tacos in the Queso and Smack Sweet Sauce for a super heavenly tasty meal! read more

First time ordering curbside pick up from this location. Service was not anything like what I experience at either of the two locations nearest to where I live. I ordered as I was leaving work and arrived at the restaurant. I parked as instructed in the closest place to the door as possible in an actual parking space. Had I parked closer it would have been in a no parking fire lane blocking other cars. I was a few minutes early but texted as instructed just like I do at my regular stores. I waited patiently because again I was early by about 5 minutes. Ten minutes after it was scheduled to be done... nothing. I'm a nurse, had just gotten off shift and know people worry about us going into places after being on shift in our scrubs due to Covid19. So I texted again thinking maybe it didn't go through. Ten more minutes and nothing. People have been going in and out parking where they shouldn't be parking and messing up the flow of traffic while doing it or parking up mostly on the sidewalk. So I went inside scrubs and all. Waited my turn. The employee asked if I needed something. Well yeah... I'm standing in your restaurant. I asked if there was a curbside order for me and she went over to a table where a bag was sitting, looked at the name and handed me the bag. I was surprised she didn't say anything about me coming inside for curbside pick up or ask if there was a problem. But she didn't. Handed it to me after 20 minutes of waiting after it was scheduled to be done and having to come inside. Have a good day as she walked away. If they intend for you to park illegally to wait they should say so or at least call and say we have your order ready if you'll pull up in the fire lane we will hand it to you. (Which they shouldn't encourage in any case). But nothing and adding not great customer service on top of it. The person in front of me inside received less than ok service too. Lesson learned. In the future I'll pass my house if the family want Tijuana Flats after I get off work and go to one of the restaurants by my house. It would have been faster to drive farther and the service at those locations (east colonial across from Target or Aloma) is always great. Food was ok even though it had been sitting for a while. It's been a hot minute since I've been to a Tijuana Flats. And today I remembered it was Taco Tuesday, aka $5.99 for 2 tacos, chips and a drink... you can't beat that! I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered the crunchy corn taco shells and we also got a side of queso sauce to dip. The pros are the tacos are huge and all the sides are packed into the taco, so you can eat right away. They always ask when you order if 'you know about the hot sauce bar' the answer is always yes... I mean who doesn't? Also I feel like the hot sauce bar is kinda out dated... its just a bunch of sauces, ranging from mild to extra spicy, it's nothing special. Also I feel like the food is good, but it's lacking on taste. The tacos are just a taco, I feel as though its lacking some fresher ingredients like cilantro or pico de gallo... also the lettuce just tasted wet and had a weird taste. Overall, the price is right for 2 tacos, chips and a drink. But I feel like Tijuana really needs a make-over or upgrade. Most mexican restaurants make the entree right in front of you with a visual for fresh ingredients and how much you can put on each taco, which I think is great. Maybe rethinking the whole process, adding new menu items and changing up the branding...it's a thought. read more

I have been going to this Tijuana flats for well over a year now. I live a mile and a half down the street, and I'm a frequent customer as I order here probably once every week or two. They do a fantastic job, and yes during lunch and dinner they do get extremely busy. It may take you a bit longer to get food during that time, but they always do their absolute best to get you the order as soon as possible. I usually love this place as a chain. I ordered to go today from a new location. Taco salad with black beans. My order was missing guacamole. As a vegetarian, guacamole is the most expensive and best part of my order. Now I have a taco bowl with lettuce tomato and beans. This sucks. Also, I asked, no I begged for extra smack sweet sauce and did not get it. No Guac and no hot sauce. Upon calling the manager apologized and I thank her for that but I'm still here with $13 worth of lettuce and tomatoes. read more

Here is an incident that exemplifies why I love the Flats, and specifically this location, so much. I was pressed for time yesterday, so we didn't have time to dine in at the Flats. I ordered ahead and picked up the food. I got a kids' burrito for my son, which comes with a free beverage. She asked what I wanted, I told her Diet Coke and that I would probably drink it myself on the way home. She said "well, I'll just go ahead and give you a large then. You come in here all the time." Yep, it's a little thing...but a shining example of why this location of Tijuana Flats has earned my regular business and why I will preach about the Flats to anyone who will listen. read more

We just moved to this area and have been going to other local T-flats for years. This one is CONSISTENTLY late with online orders and can't handle any type of dinner rush. My order was not even ready after my Uber Eats app said it was ready for pickup. I waited for 35 MORE minutes until my order was ready. I get they are slammed but the lady I asked about my order the 1st time did nothing. More time wasted until I spoke up again to a different girl who spoke to the manager and asked me to wait an additional 5 minutes. This is my favorite location. Not only is it within walking distance of the office, but they are always spot on. This is one of the places that I get something different every time I go. Last time was the fish tacos. Loved them. Grilled to perfection. This location goes out of their way to make you happy. I love the swamp mud sauce and buy it to take home. I hadn't eaten here in over a year, so we decided to get lunch yesterday. I tried the fish tacos, which are a new item. When they arrived and I opened them up to add my chosen hot sauce, I was hard pressed to find any fish. It was mostly cabbage and sauce. I keep trying fish tacos at various restaurants, and am mostly disappointed. I don't really see how they are so hard to make. I make them at home with no problem. When a restaurant cuts corners and scrimps on food, they end up losing more customers than they save by cheaping out. read more
