I absolutely had to give 4 stars : the barman on duty when I sat down was also the server; he was amazing considering it's a busy, busy airport bar. Bravo There's not a huge selection of foods, burgers and fries and a couple other snackable items; I didn't eat anything so can't comment on that . The drinks were good, a espresso martini and a pineapple (old) fashioned. It's very loud: when the flight announcements come on everyone talks so much louder ... so normal for an open airport bar. read more

Bartender was solo, and had a full bar-full of thirsty patrons; consequently the service lacked a bit of that Island aloha vibe. She didn't seem happy to be here today, although mood improved as traffic lightened up... and of course when the bill was presented. I must say that I empathize with her plight. Located in the airport on Kauai this bar areas is one of the limited choices available at the airport. Unfortunately we made a bad decision and decided to just get to the airport early and grab a bit to eat there. I rarely give 2 stars but the hamburger was really bad. I mean I think my high school cafeteria had better hamburgers. That sounds so harsh but they can do better. Our server/bartender/runner/hostess was amazing! I cant believe she was the only one in a very busy bar. I know there's a shortage of staff but she should not be running that entire bar by herself. It got to a point where i felt so bad for her it made me want to leave to free up a table. The beer selection was not bad although they were out of a few choices. If you are just grabbing a drink and no food I think you will be good. I learned my lesson to always be prepared before going to the Kaua'i airport. read more

Beers and food excellent, especially the BBQ pork nachos. Best nachos I've ever had!! Overall I was shocked with the high quality of food on Kauai. haven't been back for about 30 years and the island as a whole has much improved. The pulled pork sandwich {the wife's choice} also excellent. In short those pigs did not die in vain! If I had to complain, I would say get a different french fry vendor. the fries were good, not great, but a small price to pay and now that I know, will forego the fries in the future. 4 stars for cocktails!! The tiki bar inside the Lihue Airport is a cute little bar sectioned off from the main pavilion of the airport. This is a great help to those nervous flyers who need liquid courage. LOL! It's a 21 and over bar so no kids here. It does have food available on their menu but we opted to eat elsewhere. I recommend the other two places in the airport for good food. Everyone sitting in the bar was drinking great island beers and Mai Tais. Wine is also available. My drink was well made and it was nice to relax and people watch in the pavilion. Just be aware the pace of the tiki bar is relaxed and slow. If you need a two drink quickly, I'd order them up front. Little hole in the wall, nice and clean inside. From the outside doesn't look like much but they have THE BEST fish tacos I have ever had (comparable to fish tacos in Mexico). Fresh fish on homemade corn tortillas. Highly suggest you try the tacos when you are in Lihue. Had them for lunch yesterday and went back for more today. read more

Wonderful service from the host/bartender. She did an amazing job helping everyone at the bar and tables. I got the nachos- probably some of the best airport nachos I have had while traveling. My gang and I popped in for a pre-flight cocktail. While there are two other restaurants in the terminal, I chose this one as it's open-air and just looked cooler overall. Plus, it wasn't occupied. ATMOSPHERE: The small HMS Host-operated bar is located inside the Lihue Airport terminal but outside of the secured areas. A huge skylight ceiling lets in lots of natural light over the bar top and most of the restaurant. Seating is bar stools and high tops. A single TV or people-watching can keep you entertained. MENU: Bar apps, full bar menu. BEVERAGE: We all had beer. Prices were average, between $5 and $7. SERVICE: It was shift change so we were served by two different female bartenders, both of whom were quiet but friendly. OVERALL: Mellow ambiance, fair prices. read more

Although most of our vacation on Kauai was amazing, sadly our last night was not. We were looking for a nice place to sit and relax before our flight and chose the Tiki Bar because it really looked nice and inviting, and during COVID times, one can't be choosy. The drinks were ok, although we only ordered wine, not too difficult to pour. However; the bartender was horribly rude and mean. She was especially rude to my husband, mostly ignoring him, or commenting and arguing with everything he said about our visit to this lovely island. She was slow to serve several folks in the bar, especially those people not at the bar right in front of her. It wasn't too crowded but I did notice she would rather chat with certain patrons and not others. She definitely had a chip on her shoulder. Very argumentative and hostile. Best Mai Tai I have ever had but holy heck is one of the bartenders clearly a grown-up bully. There were two bartenders when we came and one was super sweet and very attentive but the other bartender (who I am assuming is Meredith after reading other reviews) must hate tourists or just people in general. She made multiple snarky comments towards my boyfriend over absolutely nothing (needing to pull his ID out of his wallet, ordering another drink, literally just while she was walking by) and then slamming our food on the table (after waiting 40 minutes for nachos). She then took my card right off the table to close us out and then 5 minutes later returned with a pile of credit cards in her hand to ask which was ours. While I hate that others had the same godawful experience as I did, looking at other guests' Yelp reviews about the bartender at this bar was extremely validating. I am a south Asian woman, and I registered a shifty look from the older, female, middle aged bartender as soon as I walked in. She was chatty and attentive to everyone else, but only walked over to me with an eye roll after she took her sweet time. She then asked what I would like, and I replied that I'd like some water for now. She proceeds to condescendingly inform me that I need to order something in order to sit at her bar, in front of all the other guests. Came here on a Wednesday with my fiancé on our honeymoon. It was supposed to be a special night. We are NEVER coming back. Steer clear of the old blonde lady. Despite her job description, she sure managed to steer clear of us. We would've ordered more than 1 round of drinks and 2 appetizers, but we didn't get the chance to since she ceased to exist after visiting the table once. Didn't make eye contact with me at all and walked away multiple times while I was talking to her. She utterly ignored any question I had. It would've been less unpleasant if she could at least lose the attitude and provide sub par service, but when I attempted to get her attention, she gave me a nasty death stare and made rude, sarcastic gestures including a pointer finger indicating for me to "wait" even though we had been waiting to order from her for almost 40 minutes. I will give the benefit of the doubt and acknowledge that the restaurant was at no more than 40% capacity while she was in front of house on her own, but we noticed how slow and incompetent she was. She wasn't prioritizing new customers, and talking story with others for way too long. When the food was ready, she stormed by our table stomping, and literally slapped the boxes so hard on the table that the silverware fell off and my drink almost got knocked over. The food was extremely bland and had clearly been sitting under the heat lamp for a while. I had to walk to the front and grab the check so I could run away. Making fun of customers so everyone can hear you is a quick way to lose business. People left in disgust, not only from the drinks and food, but also how the bartender conducted himself.
