Great place for food while in Kauai. Had the spicy beef tacos and a shrimp salad and they were legit. The spice is level medium/ high, so if you can't handle the fire, go lighter. All the food was fresh and tasty. The homemade tortillas were solid but nothing spectacular. That is the only thing average here. This place certainly doesn't serve your average Mexican fare. The flavors are authentic, the tortillas are homemade, and they pack a tremendous amount of flavor into these oversized tacos. I'm used to the smaller (4-5 inch diameter tortilla) tacos where I can usually eat 2-3 easily (plus chips and salsa!). The tacos here are large and even though I wanted to try multiple, I couldn't eat more than one. I ordered the Paniolo (translated to "cowboy") beef taco and it was DELICIOUS! It was gluten-free, which made me very happy. The Paniolo sauce was so unique and flavourful that even though I was stuffed after finishing my taco, I was dying for more! I recommend this place and will absolutely be back. I've even been craving their food since coming back home to California! Note that they were not very fast, so if you are in a hurry it likely isn't the best choice. I think this is a good thing because they are probably working feverishly to make all orders fresh! read more

My wife heard this was the place to go for Tacos and her opinion agrees with 4.5 stars. She had fish tacos. My daughter had a quesadilla and she gave 3.5. I had 2 veggie tacos and gave it 2. My 2 might be a bit harsh probably because I don't love veggies. I am vegetarian but would prefer rice and Beans which they do not have rice and they don't have beans and they don't have chips so I really wasn't that thrilled. I must be in the minority because the place is really crowded with locals and even at 8:30 when they close there is a long line. So on the advice of my daughter she said give a 4. Give it a try if your not a vegetarian and don't like chips and rice and beans. They also don't have water in cups so bring your own cup and they will fill up for you. Price was ok. So we came here because a local told us it was so good & we were starving. It was not "cute" nor did it have great ambiance or a view of any of those things we usually look for in a restaurant while on vacation. But it was DELICIOUS. Authentic, fast, local, affordable. Tacos were ok. The tortillas are hand made, and were tasty, but they were the best part of the taco. The meat fillings were bland and tasteless, I had to add hot sauce to my fish taco to get any sort of flavor. The shrimp taco was skimpy on the shrimp. The Hawaiian royal version of the tacos (available in pork, chicken, and a couple other meats) were better because there was pineapple in it to lend some flavor and moisture. The tacos themselves are big, and two will fill you up, but at $7 to $9 each, they are not cheap. read more

I am not a super fan of Taco. But I really like the spicy beef that they offered. The only reason I gave 4 star is because the seating there is NOT comfortable and Hawaiian mosquitos loved me so much. But the only choice was outdoor seating over there. These are definitely pricey tacos, but they are huge! Two will really get you full, forsure. I tried the best fish taco and the lamb taco. Out of the two, the lamb was my favorite! It took a while before I got back to eating here. There was a time years ago where I would eat their vegan tofu tacos almost every day. Then one day, they served me a bad one. The kind that makes you sick. I couldn't go back after that bad taco and yes every time I saw their sign it made me think of my bad experience. It took years! I got the chicken taco and my husband got the best fish taco and the spicy beef steak (which isn't really steak, it's ground beef). My chicken taco was amazing! It's not really a taco, because it's the size of a burrito. One taco is MORE than enough to keep you satisfied. The best fish taco was pretty good but I would not recommend the spicy beef steak. Wasn't all that tasty. Their salsas are amazing! Especially their orange colored one (might be a mango salsa). I drowned my taco with that sauce. Overall it was good and I would go back. Shared a Kahuna Fish and a Roasted Mayan Fish. Ordered them with organic blue corn tortillas (really liked them, though some might not) plus Guacamole. Uploading a photo of only one of them, because I couldn't tell them apart anyway! From the photo; tasting them there was a big difference. The Kahuna had some jalapenos mixed in (thus the 'Spicy-' notation in the menu), which really gave the taco some kick. Not sure if that was the only reason I preferred the Kahuna, but prefer it I did. I found the Mayan a bit bland (but still tasty, due to the added guac). I probably should have put some hot sauce on it (readily available), but after biting into it, it was so messy (due to being overstuffed) my hands were all sticky by then and I didn't want to bother. $9 and $10 for a taco (after our extra $2 add-ins) sounds pretty expensive. But these are big, filling beasts, and at least as filling as a 10" $16 personal sized pizza I recently had. Service was amazing. The woman (owner? I assume ...) is so outgoing and friendly, she just oozes happiness. She was very helpful in understanding the large, chalkboard menu selections. Great place! read more

This place is really good if you want A LOT of food for a great price. My friend and I ordered 4 tacos after a long day at the beach. This was one of the only places open at around 8 pm. We called in our order to go and picked it up. The service was great and very fast. The tacos were hugeeee. We had no idea they were so large. You really can order 1 taco per person and be ok unless you're verrry hungry. The taco shell itself was pretty dry and the taco meat was dry too. The portions were a lot smaller than I expected based on chatting with the staff behind the counter. They described it as generous portions, that 1 taco is a meal and order 2 if you're hungry. I had the fish taco and the pork & fish. The fish taco was okay and the pork/fish combo was not something I could eat. Something about the pork upset my stomach. WOW!!!! Was this Taco massive. The pollo cabron was seasoned to perfection. It wasn't spicy in my opinion, but I do eat very spicy foods regularly, the raw jalapeños had a little kick to them. The Kalua pork taco was delicious and has been the best island fusion taco we've had on the island. The best fish taco was ordered plain for the little guy and he enjoyed it to the last bite. First off, we're from California. I lived in SD and went to Tijuana A LOT for tacos. Tiki has really great meat in their tacos. Very flavorful and tender, BUT I don't think that their tacos are super cohesive. It tasted like meat was just put in a tortilla, and everything else was an afterthought.
