It has a real beachy vibe, with sand under your feet. The youngsters enjoyed going on the docks and into the water a little bit as well. Service was OK, a little slow which is surprising considering we were past the usual lunchtime hours. I had a burger and fries. The food was decent, not great.

Since the…read morecruise leaves from the dock right by the restaurant, we got there early to have a drink and kill some time, and ended up ordering an appetizer as well. Unfortunately, the experience was pretty disappointing from the start. The restaurant was basically empty when we arrived, and the hostess asked for my name and phone number before immediately seating us. Once we were already sitting at our table, I received a text saying I had been added to the waitlist, which was very odd. I ordered a cosmopolitan, and our server initially told me they were out. I asked if they were out of cranberry juice, and he had to go ask the bar. He came back and explained that they were actually out of their premade Cosmos, but that the bar could make me a fresh one. That was already a bit of a red flag to me. I appreciated that he checked, but unfortunately, the drink was just okay and definitely didn't taste like a Cosmo. We decided to order the coconut shrimp, which is listed on the menu as one of their favorite items and comes with their signature citrus sauce. When the appetizer arrived, it came with two packets of Ken's bang bang sauce instead. Our server dropped the food off and walked away without explaining anything. I completely understand if an establishment is out of something, but I would have expected to be notified rather than simply being given something completely different. I eventually had to go find him at the bar, where he was on his phone, and asked for the citrus sauce that was advertised on the menu. He told me he had looked for cocktail sauce, which is not what is advertised and not what I had asked for, but couldn't find any. He then came back with a horseradish aioli instead. Again, that wasn't the sauce I had asked for. I asked a third time for the citrus sauce, and it took about another 10 minutes for him to finally come back with a different sauce. By that point, there was only one shrimp left. The server seemed very new and not particularly well trained, and I don't necessarily blame him for that. To me, that is a management and training issue. Someone should have been available to properly guide him, especially when he was clearly unsure about something as simple as the sauces being served with an item on the menu. For a $22 appetizer, I really don't think it's unreasonable to expect to receive the sauce that is actually listed on the menu without having to ask three separate times. It's a shame because The Getaway has such a beautiful waterfront location, and I've been there several times in the past. Unfortunately, this visit felt like the place has really gone downhill. Between the strange waitlist situation, the disappointing cocktail, and the issues with a very simple appetizer, the whole experience was a hot mess. I'd still go for the view and maybe a beer or wine if you're already in the area, but I'd keep your expectations low.

Located on the fourth floor of the Pier Point structure, Pier Teaki offers a fantastic waterfront setting with beautiful views. We hurried into Pier Teaki because a thunderstorm was expected to arrive within an hour. Luckily, we found a cozy cabana where we could relax while watching the dark clouds roll in. For drinks, we ordered the NA Piña Colada ($9) and the NA Passionate Pineapple ($9). Both were refreshing, flavorful, and excellent non-alcoholic choices. We also shared the Dip Trio ($14), which was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the drinks. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing! it was the perfect place to unwind, enjoy the ocean breeze, and take in the waterfront views. In the end, the strong winds pushed the storm clouds away, and it never rained after all. We had a wonderful experience at Pier Teaki and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting downtown St. Petersburg.

Seating is first come first served and seat yourself. We were greeted right away and our server quickly took our order. Once we got our food, we never were quality checked and drinks weren't refilled. Not sure where our server disappeared to? Food was surprisingly good! We got an order of wings, ceviche, a smash burger, and mahi tacos. The wings were so crispy and delicious that we didn't even use any of the buffalo sauce or ranch that we ordered on the side. Highly recommend! The tacos and burger were both on point. Our only complaint was that the ceviche was super fresh and refreshing, but the knife cuts were terrible so we'd end up with large pieces of fish just kind of stuck together not fully cut apart which was a little unappetizing. All in all, we had a great experience!

They run daily drink and food specials, which is really the main draw here. The food is basic bar food, so don't come in expecting anything fancy or top notch. That said, if you're in a pinch and just need something quick and cheap, the prices are right. Personally, I'd probably spend a few extra dollars elsewhere for better quality, but it works for what it is. Their Red Tiki beer on draft isn't bad, but I'm a little unsure about how often the lines are cleaned. A few times the beer tasted slightly stale and wasn't as frosty as it should be. Service can also be hit or miss. When the bar gets busy, things slow down quite a bit since there usually aren't many bartenders working at once. It's not terrible, just something to be aware of during peak hours. Overall, it's a no frills dive with cheap specials, a loyal Bills crowd, and basic food and drinks. If that's what you're looking for, Red Tiki gets the job done.

Hubby got a double cheeseburger along with his uncle. I got the Thai chili wings. We got a bucket of beer which is the most expensive thing on the menu. Food is cheap and I mean cheap! Those are the days they have more help on. Beers were ice cold and the food was so tasty! Great little hidden gem. Give him a try but have a little bit of patience.
