We wanted some tiles for our new hearth. I had done my research and found a couple of places to visit and check out looking for something that would meet our modern Victorian style. The first place we went was Tiles for Less and after seeing the range and prices I threw my list of other vendors away. These guys were great, Frank and Hammet, (i hope I spelt his name correctly) really went above and beyond for us. We found some amazing Italian tile that the guys did some amazing cuts on and it worked beautifully. They were really calm, friendly and patient with our constant, probably obvious, questions about installing the tiles. Super helpful. In a world where customer service has largely become lip-service at other places, at Tiles for Less they really do mean it. Highly recommended and will buy here again! read more

Bought some subway tile for a project. Got a little extra just in case, was told it could be returned within 30 days, apparently the tile I bought was on sale and can't be returned. They said nothing about it at checkout, they actually guided me to the tile that was on sale (I'm assuming because it can't be returned). Make sure not to buy tile that's on sale if you want to return any extra!!! It would be nice if the staff emphasized this, or even said anything at all. Tile was nice though. read more

One star review for a good reason! The Seattle Tile For Less has been my go to place for tile projects because I really like working with Jimmy and they had a good selection of tile. He had helped me with several bath and a kitchen project over the years and he really knew his stuff and provided great customer service! We even talked about ideas for a future bath project! The customer service has really gone downhill with the current staff. During my kitchen project, I was encouraged to buy my backsplash tile early because of concerns of supply chain issues during the pandemic. My project wasn't going to start within the 30 day return policy window, but I was told that I could return the extra tile (after the 30 day timeline) that I wasn't going to use for a refund. Today I went to return the extra tile and had my receipt. Come to find out that Jimmy is no longer with the company and the clerk that helped me would not honor the return or really cared or valued the agreement or my future business. They still stock the same tile today, so it seems very unreasonable not to do the refund. I would think twice about doing business with Tile For Less. The way that they acted today shows that they really don't care about customer service, maintaining customer relationships or future business. read more

If they have the tile you want, you are probably not going to get a better price. Many of the tiles they carry are high quality and very affordable. I've gone to other tile stores in Bellevue, and they will openly admit they can't compare to the prices for this place. Good customer service. No complaints. I purchased some tile, they told me they would take it back after 30 days (which is outside their policy), and they honored their promise and took it back. This allowed me to purchase extra tile for my job and not get stuck with it. I still recommend asking their return policy and don't assume anything. read more

Best place to find a good selection of tiles with great pricing. Had a 30 square foot kitchen backsplash project which came out to $200 and turned out beautifully. Knowledgeable and extremely helpful staff who can guide you to the right products without being pushy. Appreciated having the tile pricing indicated on the samples, as other stores kept you guessing. These guys are great! They have a very informative free class for beginners about once a month. Very knowledgeable and helpful. We had several glass tiles to cut and decided to bring them in to have them cut at the store. The fee to do that was really reasonable or we could have opted to check out some of their tools. Glad we had them do it though, Jimmy is the MAN! He tackled several challenging cuts in glass tile that turned out way better than we could have. Returns are easy so you can buy with confidence and not run out of material but your also not stuck with excess. Going here felt like having a friend or family member in the tile business. If you buy epoxy grout from TFL you're paying twice as much as you should. I am a professional mosaic artist using exclusively SpectraLock epoxy grout for grouted installations. I usually get my SpectraLock from Master Wholesale down on 6th Ave S., but one day recently I was in a pinch and near Tile For Less on 1st Ave S. and so popped in to TFL to pick up the small size (AB mini unit) bucket of SpectraLock and a couple of epoxy grout sponges. My jaw hit the floor in shock when the guy at the counter rung up my purchases. TFL prices were almost exactly TWICE those of Master Wholesale. Each sponge was $4.00, and the mini unit of SpectraLock was $42.00. Master Wholesale sells the same sponges for $2.02/ea. and the AB mini unit of SpectraLock for $21 and change. I asked the clerk if he'd made an error, if those prices could possibly be correct, as they were shockingly high. He said nope, those were the correct prices. I went on a bit ("Are you kidding me? Really? How can that be right? Master Wholesale sells this stuff for half of what you're asking"), still having trouble believing my eyes. Finally he had pity on me and threw in an extra sponge for free. Absurd. Anyhoo. I paid my jillion dollars for the products and left, as I was under a tight time constraint, but I told them straight, as you should, that I'd never buy from them again - can't afford to! - and would let the world know via Yelp that TFL may sell tile for less but they sell epoxy grout for WAY more than you should ever pay. read more

We went to their free tile class a bit ago and during said class the feller teaching it said they would cut the backer board to size so we figured all was good. Tough to drag some 4x4 sheets of time backer I'm my Subaru and all. Went to get supplies and the same guy acted like I was bothering him when I was dropping 500 on tile. I asked if they will cut the backer board and he replies "well we won't but you can" Gee thanks pal... Good selection of time, customer service needs some work though. Great selection...especially backsplash. The staff are great and helpful. But the prices were way too high.., which seems to contradict their name..Tile for Less. Most of the backsplash I found were $30 plus dollars a sheet (12" x 12"). I needed 30 sheets. At minimum would have been $900 total. Went to Lowes and found a great selection and picked one very similar to what was $40 per sheet at Tile for Less. At lowes it was $12 per sheet. And very good quality. They were able to place an order with United Tule for an item they didn't have in stock and we were able to go directly to United Tile after leaving to pick up the edging we needed. Worst customer service I've experienced from anywhere, very unprofessional. I was told on three separate occasions that I would receive a call from them and each time they didn't call me and I had to call them days later. One time was for a tile price quote and the other two times was when my order would be delivered. ALSO, I was told three different times that my order would be delivered a certain day and it wasn't each time. Two of those three times they didn't even call me to tell me that the order wasn't delivered when they said it would be. One of the times I even drove in to pick up the order, only to have it not be there. read more

Even though these guys are located across the street from Home Depot, and they are much more expensive, the quality and quantity of their selections is the right choice every time. I have remodeled several bathrooms and kitchens and I have been so happy with my tile choices from tile4less. Their customer support team are awesome, and they even let you borrow tile saws! Not to mention the tiling classes they run, how cool is that? I have learned a lot from this store about how to install and remove tile and they are always the first place I go when I have a new project. read more

Great place to buy tiles. Great selection, helpful staff. I could not make up my mind on which tiles would be perfect for my project. I asked the staff and they actually picked out the tiles that I ended up using. These guys have great taste. My project is finished and looks great. I had a bunch of extra tile. They take returns! We were really pleased by the selection of tiles and how well Zach took care of us. We came in with an idea of what we were looking for, and Zach immediately showed us a few great options for wall and floor tiles that met our needs. He also was really helpful in educating us on the accompanying materials we needed including thinset, waterproofing membrane, tile sealer, urethane grout and more. I was expecting to spend hours trying to learn what we'd need for our project but got all we were hoping for and more from Tiles For Less in just one hour. TILE FOR LESS - GROUT FOR MORE Thought I would get some expert help from a tile vs big box store on my first custom shower so went to Tile for Less. I did receive good advice to use epoxy based grout for the stone tile floor. However, I was told that my 3x5 floor needed one mini Spectraloc and to buy a second one just in case. I accepted the advice but was shocked at the price for a tiny bit of grout with epoxy mix for over 50 bucks a piece. I really hoped the second one would not be needed. When I grouted the floor the little container of grout only covered about a quarter of the area so even with the extra mini I only got about halfway done. Went online and learned that for the same price as 2 mini's which are 2 lbs each there's a 9 lb option for 100 bucks which would have covered the whole floor and then some for the price equivalent of the 2 mini's. When I explained this at the store the next day I was just told it's hard to estimate coverage for stone and wasn't offered a discount for now having to buy 2 more mini's. The total cost of $230 including tax just for grout on a 3x5 shower floor is ridiculous. The guy knew I was very unhappy about the wasted time and extra cost but didn't seem to care at all. As tile experts they should know how to estimate grout needs and to compete with big box stores, Amazon, and the like should actually care about customer satisfaction. read more

I went to Home Depot at 7am the other day hoping to run in quick and grab a few standard sized subway tiles. Huge waste of time, after trying to find a worker for 15 min because the shelves were unorganized, they didn't even have any in the size I wanted. I passed this shop when I was on my way out and decided to make a u turn and give it a go. The guys were super nice and helpful. I was in and out within 5 minutes. Huge selection and helpful staff. This is a good a medium quality tile store. Cheaper than the high end places that really market things up but more expensive typically than the big box retailers like Home Depot or Lowe's. Worth stopping at as a potential source for tile and advice. You may get good advice for DIY projects. But maybe not since they are so discount oriented. If you really know what you are doing than this is an alternative supplier to consider. read more

I just got my new slab granite kitchen counters installed. They are amazing! What an easy process. They came and measured. Gave me an appointment date withing 2 weeks and tore out the old tile counters and installed the new granite all in one day! Including the plumber to hook up my disposal and new faucet. Pretty pissed. Got a bunch of subway tile from them, was told it would be fine to get extra just in case and I could return any I don't use. I guess it's my fault for not reading the full receipt, but you only have 30 days to return the tile. I was about 2 weeks over and they would not take it. It's white subway tile. They would have easily resold it. If it were a more uncommon tile that they don't carry or something, I would have understood. This strikes me as a real lack of customer service. I had gotten myself in some design trouble with a couple of poor choices in cabinet and granite colors. I went to the Seattle Tile for Less store, and their sales department saved me! Rainbow-Renee came to the rescue and totally pulled all the poor choices into a coherent look. She knew the exact floor tile that would bring in all my hues, and wall tiles that would compliment that floor. I was amazed, releaved, and impressed. After shopping around, I realized this place is not a good bet Tile for Less is good for one thing. If you need supplies same-day, and you don't want to settle for the DalTile selection at crappy Home Depot, this is a good bet. They have a plentiful selection of standard and somewhat non-standard tiles, but the closer you get to the non-standard, the more the "for Less" part of their name is just an empty draw. That said, I'm 97% done with a bathroom that has a lot of tile, and Tile for Less didn't do more than make a very brazen attempt to rip me off. Read more on that below (short story for lazy people: Don't fall for the epoxy grout pitch). You can do much better online for tiles, and it's always better to stay local (Tile for Less is a chain based in Phoenix) at places like Art Tile or someplace similar. For tile, again their selection is fine. For my money, though, I would rather work directly with a supplier. I went with Hakatai tile, based somewhere in Oregon. They're experts, and they sell to individuals for the same rate they charge retailers. You'll pay more dealing with a retailer, like 50% more. I ran into a situation where they warned me against pulling tile from 2 different die lots and guided me toward the perfect solution. I would guess that a retailer wouldn't know, and potentially wouldn't care, about die lots and similar manufacturing issues. They also have an unpublicized free shipping promotion that saved me an additional $500 over the course of my project, just buy in orders higher than $200. The shipping was so fast it was almost rude to accept the freebie. The three times I ordered, everything arrived within 3 business days. I was aghast, in a good way. The reason I don't give this place the "ok fine" 3-star rating is that they are pitching epoxy grout to people like me that don't know better. Epoxy grout has a number of very positive advantages over the standard stuff, but those advantages are only really useful for very heavily surfaces like a counter top in a restaurant. This place pushes it on you from jump street and has a whole demo set up to walk you through (paying for) special trowels, sponges, solvents to clean up, etc. Granted, it's probably the best product out there, but it's like driving a tank to the grocery store to keep your eggs safe on the drive home. The kicker for the store, it costs 10x as much as sanded/unsanded grout before you kick in all the extra money for their additional special products. For my project, I would have probably spent over $600 on grout before we were done, where I will probably be fine with the $52 I reluctantly spent at Home Depot (the installer insisted, I normally patronize smaller local stores). One good thing before I finish trashing TfL... They do accept returns. This wouldn't be an issue if they didn't push $400 in grout on me, but I'm glad I don't have to suck up the cost or pay a restocking fee. Bottom Line: OK in a pinch, but their gougey sales tactic and chain-store feel give me a belly-ache. This is really a place for rookies, but an informed customer can school him/herself out of rookie status after about a half hour of Google searches online. read more

I was shopping for accent tile and was considering two different tiles. The sales person said that one was a special order and it would be available in a week. I needed the tile sooner so I picked a different tile that he said was available in Tukwila that day. What he didn't explain was that it also was considered a special order. He simply said we have this today in Tukwila. He also didn't explain that Tile For Less doesn't stock it so I would not be able to return any extra. He implied that it wasn't in his store, but if I was willing to drive, I could get it. Had I known that it was a special order, I never would have driven all the way to pick it up. Staff help is more or less necessarily to find the tiles you want. The store does not have a particular order of how they lay out the material, if you ask a store rep they know exactly where things are. Make sure you look at the cost when purchasing tiles, some tiles are actually pretty expensive and can add up if you are tiling a large area. They have a great selection that seems to be pretty current with whatever styles are popular. Coming here is way better than going to Lowe's or Home Depot. read more

We had the best experience here. Sales people are highly knowledgeable and helpful. We've always only purchased tiles and supplies at Lowe's and/or Home Depot and we'll never do that again. The selection here is awesome and the price on the tiles we chose were cheaper than at HD/Lowe's. They also have a larger selection of grout types, colors and quality. We also bought our backer board and thinset here. Don't know how the prices compare on those items, but we're not sorry if we paid more for them because of the great overall experience. I just completed my tile order and was more than thrilled by the service I received. This is the second bathroom that we have remodeled and used a different store previously with no complaints. However, this time, the tile stores closest to my home (Magnolia) and the one I used previously in the U-District were very disappointing and reluctant to help or make helpful recommendations based on the unusual tile size I needed for my sloping bathroom.
