Had a water pump go in a 2014 Ford Explorer. Some of you might be shaking your head at this moment understanding that this is NOT GOOD. The Ford engineers, who hate consumers and mechanics, saw fit to enclose the pump inside the timing chain cover. Dave and his crew gave me a fair price for this operation and did excellent work. First off, everyone I dealt with here was nice and friendly, when you actually get them on the phone or speak to them in person. With that out if the way... First visit, they didn't fix the issue, even though they told me they did. I didn't even get out of the parking lot before I noticed the issue still wasn't fixed. Pulled it back in, left the car, again. I was told it was going to be more money, whatever. Picked it up the next day. Issue seemed to be resolved and all was well. 1 week later issue was back and worse then before. After leaving multiple voicemails. Got a call back saying they were completely full, no room in the lot.. left multiple vm's the following weeks never got a call back. Cars are being worked on there so they must be calling people back. Just not us. We finally called somewhere else and cut our losses. The next shop diagnosed the issue before we could even finish describing the problem. I took a look and through the grill and as diagnosed, I could see the problem. It was still an expensive repair, it was done in 1 day at the other shop. A bummer we had already spent over $1k at Tilleys, but now its fixed. This is one of, if not the most popular American made SUV ever made with no major design changes over the last 13 years. I thought this might be a one off experience, and I wasn't going to write a review. Then come to find out this happened with my mom as well! They did eventually finally fix her issue. But her experience was similar enough I can not recommend this place. read more

I am editing my previous 5-Star review, which I hate to do, but feel I must. In November 2022 I took my car in because it didn't want to start after fueling up. The purge valve was replaced, and I expected all to be fine, but it was not. So mid-December I returned and after expenditure of another $167 for something else, I thought all would be fine - nope. Strike 3 occurred in mid-January, when an adjustment was made, which STILL did not resolve my problem. All told, I spent $700 & change at Tilley's on a problem which was never resolved. Several months later the slowness to start became so severe I was almost stranded at the pump. So I took it to another service shop which replaced (again) the purge valve with a factory part; apparently using a factory part is very important for this problem. I have now gone several weeks with no problem. While the guys at Tilley's are genuinely nice and are honest, it is a major issue to spend an unnecessary $700 when you're a retired widow, so I can't really recommend them anymore. read more

My daughter car was having alternator issues. I called on Friday and got an appointment for Tuesday the following week. I asked if I could drop the vehicle off over the weekend since I was going to be at work for a few days. Mike told me to have it there first thing the Saturday morning. The long and short of it. They had one of their mechanics check it out, took it for a test drive and concluded all was fine. No charge. Some other shop might not be so honest. Warning....the owner of Tilley's "Dave" is big rip-off. Took my car there for a diagnostic test because my car was overheating. Waited 3 days for the test and I finally had to call them to find out my test results. The owner flat out lied to me saying " I had a blown head-gasket". i took my car to another mechanic for a second diagnostic check and found out it was only a thermostat that needed replacing! read more

I don't write reviews but I'm writing this one and if I could rate them higher I would! I've been going to see Dave and Mike Tilley for 5 years now and they've always been good to me in being honest with their assessment of my Toyota Sequoia. What they did today took the cake and I will always be loyal to them. I called on Wednesday and told them I needed my brakes replaced because I was hearing a noise. Mike said, bring it in Friday morning which I did. I asked them to change the oil and rotate the tires as well. They said they'd call before the day was up which they did around noon. (This is the kicker) They said the noise was coming from my hubcap and my brakes were at 6 front and 10 back. I was shocked at their honesty because they could've either did nothing or something and still charged me $500 or however it would cost! Over the years we've grown a great relationship but it wasn't based on that. These are genuinely honest people that love what they do and want to help their customers save at all cost because these guys understand money doesn't fall off trees. Usually do my own repairs but with Tilley's right across street from where I work, the convenience factor was too great a pull. Dropped off my car to have air con looked at, and they diagnosed it as a missing belt. Did some other looking and found my serpentine belt was also looking questionable, so swapped them both for me painlessly. And, enjoyed talking with them in general. Nice folks, fair pricing, car was ready when they said it would be, and a month later I find myself suggesting my nephew take his car to them... Beware! We took our car before a trip was about $600 then on the way back the car broke down! We take it in for check engine light and $1300 later not one day later, check engine light back on. They will tell you it's different codes etc. Not even an offer to look at it. We took our son's Mercedes to a specialty shop (Bertinis is the best !) And it is having 10x more things repaired and replaced and it's $1000. Not to mention the owner is our neighbor so we thought we had a shot at honesty, never asked for a break on price. It's too bad you can't expect people to do the right thing nowadays. Imagine how you (a stranger) will be handled. This has been our experience almost $2k and still have a check engine light?! Called for a sensor relearn, they said they can perform this task for me no problem in about a half hour. During the relearn the tech noticed that something else was wrong. Completed the relearn and explained to me what else might be wrong. I went home and fixed what was explained. Great costumer service. Will definitely recommend and be returning. read more

Complete rip-off. Do not ever take your car here at all you will get ripped off. I took multiple cars there and both times they told me parts that had already been replaced were wrong they misdiagnosed both my cars multiple times and charge me $300 every time for the diagnosis both cars as soon as they left the shop the check engine light came on 4 x on one car and three times on the other. They said that they passed the driving test and everything works fine they failed smog nothing got done. Thousands of dollars later. I ended up having to fix the cars myself. It's funny because I wrote this a couple months ago right after I got my car out of the shop and low and behold my view has been erased. This shop only keeps the good ratings on the reviews. It turns out the problem was a ten-cent plastic vacuum line connector. They were going to charge me to reprogram my entire computer they said my fuel injectors were bad and it's $1,500 to replace some but I had just had another shop replace it three weeks before. On my truck they said that my brand new radiator was bad it was brand new when I bought the truck which was two or three months before I took it in the shop. You will get the run-around just how they make money. Do not go here at all. If I could give zero Stars I would read more
