Ordered delivery through grubhub. Ordered scotch eggs (soft boiled eggs wrapped in sweet and spicy sausage, parmeson breaded and fried). They looked ok but when I picked one up that was partly out of the breading and there were egg shells on my eggs and in the breading. The fish wasnt too bad had gotten a bit soggy but thats more from delivery wasnt given any tarter sauce. Fries needed to be cooked a little longer. The cookie was good. read more

So much different from the last time I rated The Kilt. I was greeted right away and sat. I was seated Grace. Grace would appear to be everything a server is meant to be. She was attentive, upbeat, and fun. She got my drinks right away. After the drinks were placed she took my order. We had a short fun conversation, then she got to work. It was near shift change so I understand she had work to do other than serve me. I was her only table as well. Grace stopped by to check on me several times and moved on, she never camped out at the table, she took care of me and moved on. My food came quickly, she made sure I had everything I needed. Grace is the example of how things should be when dining. As I stated it was shift change, the on coming shift came in with purpose and ready to work, very different from the expected norm. The other servers were working to get their work done before shift change. It was refreshing to see. The bartender was busy and working the whole time I was there. This is the experience everyone should have when going to the Kilt. The ONLY drawback was my food came so quick that I didn't have more time with Grace. She truly was amazing. read more

Oh man....sooo much to say! First, I loved the atmosphere! This is a sports bar, with pool tables, lots of tv's and GREAT music! That alone would bring me back. It is loud, not going to lie. Not so loud we couldn't hold a conversation. We started with the Pretzel and Frickles! The pretzel was still a little cold on the inside, but understanding this is a new place and they are still working out the kinks, I can forgive that. Frickles were awesome! Then I ordered the Gaelic Gold Wings with onion rings. Both were really, really good. My son got the Fat Bastard Meat Loaf. He's picky. He LOVED it. My other son got the Mushroom Swiss Burger and Tots. If you aren't hungry, don't order the burgers! They are HUGE! My child is a big eater, and he didn't finish it. It was cooked perfect. He said the flavor was spot on! The service was beyond great. Everyone was so nice and attentive but not so much that it was annoying. The manager was making the rounds at the tables seeing how everything was, which always makes me think they really do care! We had a great meal, great service and a great atmosphere to hang out in. Pleasantly surprised by our visit here. Came on a Sunday to watch football and the staff was very accommodating to change the tv by our table to the game we wanted to watch. Our waitress was very attentive throughout the entire time we were there. We started with the fried pickles and mozzarella sticks and both were very good. Traveling through Lexington late on a Monday, we stopped at a nearby Springhill suites for the night. The only late night food options were Waffle House, Buffalo Wild Wings and this Tilted Kilt place. My husband and I decided on this place to have a cocktail and get some food to go, imagining a cozy Irish Pub. Turns out it is a giant, loud, and VERY brightly lit pool hall/sports bar and is similar in spirit to a Hooters with an all female server staff with ill-fitting uniforms and push-up bras. Other than the staff, I was the only woman in the surprisingly busy place. Our bartender was really sweet but ,that said, she did not know how to bartender and my martini was terrible. It tasted like strait vermouth. She was obviously young and poorly trained, so it was understandable. I ordered the Cesar with an 8 oz Salmon filet to go. When I opened the to go container I was treated to a wilted mess topped with a HALVED salmon steak that was likely shy of 4ozs. I foolishly paid $9 extra for this pitifully overcooked piece of fish too. That's some upper management shenanigans. My advice, stick to enjoying the beer and the big screens if you go here. There is unlikely to be any skill in the food or cocktail department happening here. I'm giving 3 stars for the kindness of our bartender and the glory of the crazy big screen only. This place really is one quality joint the food ain't all that but I happen to find the wings very delightful not mention the abundance of ass and titties really makes up for it and not only that but the service is easily some of the best service I've ever had everyone there was so nice and were constantly greeting me with kindness . Ate here for the first time tonight. I ordered the fish and chips, and it was so delicious, but it was way more than I could eat! The fish was so flaky and tender, like it had been caught today. I like this place better than Buffalo Wild Wings simply because the atmosphere is nicer. They have a wider variety of stuff on the TVs and the food I thought was just as good. They were a little slow when we came and it wasn't even busy but there was no rush. We'll be going back to try wings and for a football game or two. They probably get most the guys they do because of the skimpy outfits the waitresses wear. read more

The good: the place had a very nice atmosphere for a guys night out kind of place: girls in very skimpy clothes, loves of huge TVs with sports, pool tables. It was very clean and is a huge space, so you don't feel overcrowded even when the place is busy. They have lots of beer and liquor selection. The waitstaff is kind and courteous. They had no qualms about sending back food and drinks that were sub par and were very apologetic. The appetizers were pretty good, but not fantastic. The bad: The entrés were pretty awful. I ordered the drunken clams and they tasted like they had gone bad--very bitter. I got the fish and chips instead, and the fish had been over cooked and the chips were undercooked. All was bland, bland, bland! My girlfriend ordered the chicken fingers, which had also been over cooked. The mixed drinks tasted watery. In all, I recommend this place for anyone under the following two conditions: 1. Eat dinner somewhere else first. The appetizers are okay if you need a snack while drinking. 2. Surprise Surprise Surprise.... we decided to go visit the tilted kilt when several other places had closed for the night. The atmosphere is great for watching games, the bar is nice. But the pool tables are too close to the other tables. Our surprise though was the food was very good, served hot, and in a reasonable timeframe. The only comment that was made by the table is the amount of skin that was exposed, noted that was not why we were there but it kinda really stood out while seated at the high top tables. It was not really a problem as much as conversation after the fact. I would recommend the BBQ bacon burger, with the tots I tried from the other plate on the table. I was not a fan of the fries. The BBQ sauce is a Guinness beer sauce. The Boston burger was also tasty if you are a beer fan, as the onion relish on it definitely has a beer flavor to it. We were told the bread pudding it to die for but did not get dessert. We will try it on our next trip. read more

Relatively new location here in Lexington. Tried it today and got the MONTE Christo sandwich. Amazing. I give it two thumbs straight up. The waitress was very friendly and bubbly, however I can only give her a Solid 'C' rating not much kept her from getting the coveted 'D' rating tho... Went here during the NCAA tournament. I was happy to see it attracted an older crowd (not all college kids). We were able to get a table and the service was very friendly. With that being said, the food took forever and our waitress offered us drink specials that weren't going on and then we were unable to get a bucket of beer, because they ran out of buckets. The food was very average. I got grilled wings and they were soooo small. I got a heaping pile of tator tots, but they were cold. They also ran out of coors, bud light and a few others that only added to inconvenience. All in all, I won't hesitate to go back, but I won't go out of my way to hit it up again anytime soon. read more

The owner of this establishment should be embarrassed. From management and servers to food and drinks, this excuse of a restaurant needs all the help they can take. A simple quick bite to eat after a long day turned into nearly two hours of horrible service, hair in the food, a basket of wings and fries literally dripping grease onto the table and a lap, and excessive waits on a slow Sunday night. The waitress was inexperienced and had no knowledge on simple menu questions. The bar was not busy yet it took over 20 minutes to get two beers and a mixed drink for the table. The managers canned apology and offer of a beer on the house, which after 10 minutes and a rude question from the bartender, it was easiest to just reject the offer. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all cost. Poor choice in food and even poorer choice in outfits for the staff. There needs to be a serious reevaluation from ownership. I'm very considerate with my reviews but in this case if I could give a zero I would. I went with my family to eat dinner, the place had LITERALLY only 2 seated tables and three men playing in the pool tables. Right away went to restroom with my child and there were 5 waitresses on the back table and two bar girls. (Assumed we were going to be seen fast) well I was WRONG, when I came out the restroom back to my table, we waited for 15 mins and no one had even offered us our drinks. Stood up and went to were the waitresses were sitting on their phones and asked if one of them could please attend us, well one of them stood and walked with me back to my table only to say "I'll get some one to help you". Like for real?!! She couldn't take our order? Well waited another 10-13 mins and no one came. Got up and left. No wonder on a game night the place was EMPTY, even having a full staff. A group of use went out for lunch today. We were looking for a place to eat that had good pub food. I miss the English Pub near the mall! Our group ordered the buffalo Mac and Cheese, the pulled pork sandwich, Irish Nachos, Artisan Tacos and the Buffalo Wrap. The Buffalo Mac and Cheese was decent. The Irish Nachos were the wrong kind, they were nacho chips instead of potatoes. The pulled pork was not pulled, but diced. The tacos were the worst, there was nothing artisan about diced chicken in a small tortilla shell. All of the side items were thrown together on the tray, there wasn't enough for 3 tacos. Was not worth it. The chicken wrap was hollow, small bits of chicken, red onion and celery. There were large air pockets in the wrap. For $13.00. The diced pork sandwich and fries for $13.00 was steep too, not worth it. I know, you pay for the atmosphere. Our third visit here. Fish tacos are good. Wings amazing. Fat bastards meatloaf - unbelievable. The staff is always nice. I gave it three stars for two reasons. 1. The music is always so loud you can't carry a conversation with anyone at your table without speaking loudly. 2. Tilted Kilt is kind of like Hooters but instead of short shorts you get short kilts and the specialty is tots done a bunch of ways. Nothing wrong with that as I like the short kilts and I like tots. Beyond the kilts and the tots it's your everyday sports bar with mostly pub food. We got the loaded tots and took more than 1/2 home. I have to say they were the best tots I've ever had. But beside Sonic, I've never had tots anywhere else either. We also had the beer battered fish and chips. Comes with the usual fries and coleslaw. The fries and coleslaw were good and plentiful. The fish was 3 very small almost nuggets breaded in something that was far from a beer batter. Very tasteless. If it was a beer batter it must of been a natural light or some other watery light American lager. Beer batter needs to be made with a porter or a stout. Otherwise it's just batter. And if it's just batter then at least put some salt and pepper in it. I give it three stars only because of the tots and the hope that the other menu items will not be as bad as the fish. As for the kilts, well it's really just a bunch of young women dressed up like a Brittany Spears video in her hey day. Oops. read more
