Omg yum. My husband and I stopped by this place during our road trip over Labor Day weekend. It was our first time here I ordered a French dip and my he ordered some burger that had above average bacon on it. We were pleased with the speed and quality of our food. Our service by our waitress was good-average. There were not many people in the restaurant, we went during an off hour 2-3pm. I do recommend bringing a jacket it is very very cold in this place. I don't know why all the bad reviews! As we visited this place and was not disappointed. We started out with some drinks while we looked the menu over. Then the waitress sat down at the table to take our order. They do this as it is ear piercing loud in this joint. Anyway when our food arrived it looked kinda of blah, but tasted down right good. My wife ordered the Sloppy Jane which is a ribeye steak sandwich. And I ordered the sausage sandwich which they call something else that I can't remember. The service was good and the food was better than expected. And yes plenty of eye candy too. We will go back and try some other menu items soon. Don't dine here under the pretense that you'll be receiving top-notch service and high quality food. When one visits the tilted kilt they must keep in mind that is a pub and a restaurant. The venue is spacious and but always a little dark for me. The service isn't terrible but it's a "teats for tips" joint so again don't have high hopes. The waitresses aren't rude or anything but they know to give more attention to the suckers. The food is pretty good. Simple stuff, nothing that will blow your mind but it's reasonably priced and taste fine. read more

I was visiting Petersburg this week and my friend insisted on taking me to Tilted Kilt. Imagine Hooters crossed with Braveheart with A Knight's Tale (remember that one) thrown in for good measure, and you'd be spot on. This location is next to a military installation, which will give you an idea of the clientel here, and also why this is the only Tilted Kilt (a new "breastaraunt" chain) in Virginia. Hell, if my female friends can cue up for "Magic Mike" this weekend, I can visit a breastaurant! We sat at the bar and they have a good selection of beers on tap - from craft to the usual suspects (and I was happy to see this place doesn't believe that Pabst Blue Ribbon is a good beer....) The service was mediocre....we were extended constant, somewhat annoying service as soon as we sat down ("What can I get you to eat?" "Can we look at a menu first?") And then they disappear, even after we polish off our first beers. The girls (and some guys, alas, this is a military town...) in kilts were interesting to say the least. Some of them had tramp stamps, which Hooters does not allow, and that was disappointing. I'd say 50% of the women working there perverted their body by getting tats. The food - terrible, as mentioned in previous reviews. Even Hooters has better crap than this. I mean, you go to a breastaurant for the scenery first, food second, right? Was dragged here to get a quick drink with some friends. Places like this don't bother me because i believe cleavage is an awesome accessory. We got apps they were lame the drinks eh ok. I'm as disappointed as some of you have mentioned... I ordered my "go-to" meal - a burger. The BF ordered the shepards pie. Both were blah! My burger tasted like the kind you would get in a cafeteria in grade school! The bread looked store bought & it was pretty obvious that it was a frozen patty. Sorry, but I would've enjoyed a Big Mac more. The only good thing about my meal...hell, both of our meals was my garlic fries. So disappointing! The first time I get to try one of their restaurants and the kitchen burned my boss' order of chicken strips. The waitress promised to get him another order right away. He waited more far than a reasonable amount of time for the second attempt to show up before telling her to cancel his order. Somehow, they still saw fit to present him a check for his salad and soda after screwing up his order so bad that he didn't get dinner. Not sure what planet the manager was from who thought that was the right answer! I was polite and waited before digging into my blackened burger until he insisted that I go ahead. The burger had a good flavor but was overcooked and half-cold by the time I took my first bite. It seems to me that a burger and chicken strips is a sufficiently simple order that they should have been able to get the food into the window at the same time. Apparently not. Other thoughts... Never been to a place like this before, kinda sketched out by all the drunk kids at 7:00pm on a wens. The waitress was okay, very attentive. I ordered a club sandwich and fries, figured no one can mess up a simple sandwich... Got our food about 45 minutes after we ordered, and the fries were still freezing. Upon opening my sandwich to smear around the mayo (which I always do), I found a hair about a foot long attached in between the meat. I think if the waitresses are going to be going into the kitchen, their hair needs to be up! Just thinking about the possibility I could have eaten that hair still makes me gag.. This place is much better than Hooter's. the wasn't bad, the beverage selection was better than most and the service staff was attentive ( not mention easy on the eyes). I had a Guinness and Legend's Brown Ale, great craft beers. I had the steak blue cheese salad and it was good. Give this place a try regardless of the other low reviews. read more

I went during lunchtime on a Wednesday. I was greeted and seated promptly. My server, Amber, was great at giving me her recommendations since it was my first time there. I went with the soft pretzels which had a great texture and the sauce that came with them was also pretty good. I went on my own and got the onion strings. They weren't all that memorable. They were quite oily and lacked some crunch to them. Not sure if the oil temp was high enough. The saving grace was the sweet tangy sauce for dipping. Amber's other suggestion was the fish tacos. They were well prepared and were decently portioned. I finished up with the Tilted Guilt. Fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookie topped with ice cream. The cookie was soft and gooey and just plain delicious. If you visit there, ask for Amber. She is one of the charter servers and is great at her job (as evidenced by her regulars). I've been coming to this place since it opened. I mostly come here as a chill spot for drinks and trash talking with a couple of my co workers. Well drinks are reasonably priced. The food has gotten better since the beginning. I mostly order the TK signature wings with fries. Not bad for your typical bar food. The kilt girls at the bar meh. Environment- Good themed atmosphere. Service- The bar service employees seem to be on point. Almost without exception the bartenders are curious and prompt. If you sit at a table is when things go down hill. As with other style restaurants like this the servers tend to gravitate to alone individuals (To obviously get some more tip $). If you are not in this category don't expect excellence. Drinks- Beer is cold and at decent prices. Liquor and mixed drinks are expensive. Bathrooms- Not usually the most clean options available. A huge hole is in the bathroom wall and has been not be fixed for 2 months. How is not seen and fixed by management? read more

For those who've never been here, it's like a version of Hooters except the waitresses wear more of a Irish themed garment. I guess it's debatable if this establishment would be family friendly since girls are walking around with a bikini top on and super short skirts, but it's a great place for friends to just come hang out for a decent meal. I went here with my friends for lunch few days ago and it honestly wasn't that bad. The waitress was very friendly, consistently checked up on us and even hung around to have some small chat. The menu is pretty much American food, so I ended up with a burger with chili. To my surprise it was really good. My buddy who got a salad said it's the best salad he's ever had, so I guess it goes to show the food is above average than the local diner. It's a relaxing environment, they have TV playing the latest sports games, and a bar as well. I would definitely come back here for lunch with friends in the future. read more

I am from Hawaii visiting my hubs who is in VA for school and he showed me this place that him and his buddies like to drink and hang out and I am sure to check out the workers and servers. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly host and even their little outfit didnt bother me(as the wife). I actually thought it was a cute outfit even tho it was revealing and I even told the girls that the outfits were cute and everyone thought i would rock it too. It was a clean place besides mainly guys there and i was one of the few like 2 other females there. I enjoyed a beer with my hubs and dessert and they were attentive and the service was fast. I only felt bad because it was 35-40 degrees and cold and they were only wearing the uniform and they even told me they were freezing. We talked story to the staff and enjoyed a beer and great atmosphere with plenty of TVs around. Ladies dont be afraid to go their with your hubs. Id def come here again. read more

As others have mentioned before, if you go in there expecting a pub, with pub food and yeah, servers in skimpy Braveheart/Scottish outfits...then that's what you'll get. I stopped at The Tilted Kilt in Prince George Virginia on 11 January 2014 for dinner. I had read some previous reviews and expected to be disappointed. We arrived to a full parking lot, as there was a playoff football game being shown. We were greeted and seated by a friendly and attentive hostess. Our server, Ariel, made contact with us within two minutes and took our drink order. After drinks she aided my wife's selection of the chicken salad and quickly took my order as well as my teenage son and adult son. The food was served in a reasonable amount of time and the menu offered a variety of pub food. I was pleased to see shepherd's pie on the menu and it arrived piping hot and was delicious. A quick survey around the table revealed that everyone in my party enjoyed the selections they had chosen. The decor of the restaurant matched the theme nicely and everyone was attentive and professional. The staff performed a birthday song at our request and it was very good. Our server Ariel was particularly good and took good care of us. The restaurant was loud as previous reviewers had mentioned, but it was commensurate with someone would expect in a sports bar during playoff football. I asked her to make me a drink and she just sat on her phone for like 2 minutes before even attempting to start my drink.. at a place of business the customer should be the first priority and in this case i really dont think i was, she looked more into her conversation than into the business. The waitress was very friendly and social. She stopped by often and asked if everything was good. I did notice that at 8pm on a Thursday night the place felt fairly empty. A few guys at the bar and a couple guys at tables. There were literally no girls there. In fact, most of the guys in there were older gentlemen. Definitely not a place to pick up any girls at the bar. The food was fairly decent. The appetizers were all fresh. The Mozzarella Sticks were perfect. The Boneless Wings were hot, juicy and tender on the inside and crispy on the outside and their Pretzel thing was pretty good. I was disappointed that the Shepard's Pie was kinda warm and not hot. It also only had one scoop of mashed potatoes on top, where it's traditionally supposed to be topped with a layer. So the main entree was less than stellar, but it did taste decent. Its not a bad place. The food was good, a little too salty. I was dissapointed in the service. I also don't expect to be treated the same as the single guys that come in, but I at least expect you to be polite and smile at me. I went with my boyfriend and we barely saw our waitress.
