I was a bit surprised to find out that the restaurant is attached to Residence Inn. There was plenty of parking and we were seated right away when we arrived for an early dinner. The interior lumber theme was nice and the restaurant was cozy. I decided to indulge in a drink and ordered the Stoli blueberry fog. I was sold on this because it's topped with elderflower foam. The complimentary bread basket contained two types of bread with soft butter. For my entree, I was really craving a salad and went with the grilled steak salad. It was far from boring as there was a lot going on. I especially loved the different types of grilled mushrooms in the salad. The only thing is that I wished there were more mixed greens. Overall, Timber is a must if you're in Bangor. You won't be disappointed. read more

Went there on Easter 2026 The place was a complete shit show. The managers that was there for lunch were rude and just stood around. Several people just hanging around at the hostess stand. The Blond girl seating people "extremely " rude It's obvious they allowed more people in than they could handle . If you said anything they got angry and snapped back at you. Just tried Timber Kitchen for the first time today and the results are mixed. Place was packed inside so we opted to sit outside. Weather was nice and waitstaff friendly and quick.,. At first. Our drinks arrived shortly but our appetizers got delayed. To help with our dinner we placed our order before our waitress left to get them. We got the Timber Tenders with the sweet bbq sauce and a side of ranch. When they arrived we found we had the Carolina bbq sauce (very vinegar). Thank goodness for the ranch! And then we waited for dinner. My wife's burger and my TKB dip were 40 minutes late. Still warm (not hot) and tasty but that's a long time. Turns out staff may have been stuck inside leaving those of us outside stuck too. My advice is unless you're very early or they are very dead don't go outside. read more

Never checked in on us after 3 courses and missed out on simple things. Only brought 3 spoons for 4 people, had to ask for a water multiple times before it was brought, didn't know the flavors of the bruschetta, never brought sugar with the coffee.. Nice place - it's inside of a hotel. Got there around 6:30 on a Sunday. PACKED. Went to the bar and had some drinks, waited about 20 minutes for a table of 5. Had the wedge salad and calamari apps. Both very good. I'm pretty sure I ordered the Short Rib special for my entree. Major miscommunication - ended up getting a Prime Rib. I know the difference between the two cuts. Was with some family and friends and they've been here before and love this place, so I didn't want to make a scene. The steak was good, maybe a little under cooked for my medium rare but still tasty. By the time we were done around 8:30, place was empty. Not sure if I'll be back. read more

i have mixed feelings about this place. first up, inside, it's beautiful - spacious, the decor is eye pleasing, there is room to walk around without bumping into tables. the outdoor seating area is also very nice. hostess was welcoming. surprising that a hotel restaurant is so eye pleasing. i was with a group of 11 people. our server was attentive, the only part i didn't like was he stayed mainly at the head of the table; i was at the other end, and felt kind of left out. that said, the remainder of the service was great. we started off with mimosas, specialty coffees, and wine. we were also given baskets of rolls. you know the type of roll that you open, only to find air? it was those types of rolls. our server told us about the brunch, he also let us know we could order off the regular menu. this is where i feel i went wrong. the brunch menu didn't have much that sounded good, but my mimosas told me to suck it up and order a farm stand salad, corned beef hash, and to venture to the meat station. you know how you get a dish, then try to just delicately eat around what you don't like, while trying not to draw any attention to the fact you are eating like a bratty toddler? the poached egg from my house made corned beef gazed reprovingly at me while i valiantly tried to eat a roasted root vegetable from my farm salad. i decided i had been brave enough in my taste selections, and went to the meat station. i got a slice of ham and a thick slice of overdone roast beef from a very nice server. he also offered me some sauce, which i later used as a lubricant to get the roast beef down. i usually love ham. and roast beef, but not at this particular place. don't forget to visit paul bunyan, conveniently located across the street. i bet that guy would have eaten all of my farm salad, corned beef and tasteless fat roast beef. read more

We ate here last summer and liked it well enough to return. The food is much better than most restaurants in similar hotels. Last year we thoroughly enjoyed the roasted carrot hummous served with fresh-baked flat bread and interesting accompaniments. On our recent visit I started with the smoked seafood chowder. It was a nice New England-style chowder, but I did not detect any smoke, no bacon, no shrimp. The menu said something about crumbled crackers which would have brought a nice textural contrast but they hardly detectable. The pea sprouts or microgreens garnish supplied a nice fresh pop. My wife loved her steak salad, full of fresh and cooked vegetables, varied flavors and textures. She offloaded the fried onions to my plate, but they were room temperature, chewy and not the slighest bit crisp. My fish & chips arrived piping hot and crispy. I'm not generally a fan of coated fries but these were hot, crisp, and well-seasoned. The fish was covered in a lacey, crispy batter and was pretty close to perfect. The specialty cocktails for Valentines (Cupid's Kiss and Chocolate Raspberry Kiss) were fantastic, as well as their Stoli Blieberry Fog cocktail, which was perfect, and the food was PERFECT! The caprese stack had so much flavor, the truffle fries were loaded with flavor and the malt vinegar aioli and spicy ketchup were paired perfectly. The atlantic salmon was fantastic, and cooked perfectly. I wish it did come with half a lemon so I could squeeze it over but it was perfect without! The spaghetti was pretty good, but the meatballs really took it home, they were perfectly seasoned and my partner and I agreed they were the best meatballs we've ever had! It's a pricey spot ($142 for 2 appetizers, 2 meals, and three cocktails) but the flavor and experience are unmatched. Worth it every time. Our waiter, Justin, was fantastic as well. He checked in constantly with us, making sure our food and drinks were on par, and it just overall added to the experience. read more

Second time to Timber. First time last month was a 5 star experience from food quality and ambiance to service. Went back tonight and definitely was not as good. Service was incredibly slow and we weren't in a hurry so no big deal but it did take FOREVER for the waiter to take our order and then for the food to come out. This restaurant is in the Residence Inn Bangor. It is the best restaurant we've been to in a hotel, ever. It is a favorite of locals as well. They were booked in February for Mother's Day, when we were there, which says it all. We sat in the back, and as it was a bit chilly, they turned on the fireplace next to us which was great! Had an amazing dinner here. Don't spend much time in Bangor so we got many dishes and shared them all. Was shocked this place was here. Food was incredible. Burger with blueberry and goat cheese was great. Only things is- I firmly believe bacon should be crispy. This bacon was not. That's the only thing I would change. Onion and squash soups were great. Calamari was good. Maple pomegranate Brussels sprouts were amazing! Service was fantastic. They split every dish in the kitchen for me and my wife. Katya offered without us asking. Upscale dining for Bangor! My husband and I visited on our way out of town for an outdoors trip, arriving shortly after they opened at 11:00am. We were promptly seated, without a reservation, however reservations are highly recommended. The menu offers a wide selection of American cuisine and seafood at market price. Our servers, Gracie and Liv, were professional and knowledgeable. I don't want to confuse the trainer with the trainee, however, the training server was well-trained for this quality of dining in this area. The new server seemed like she will be a great addition to the well-seasoned staff. All of the staff appeared professional and in appropriate attire. I ordered the TKB Dip with sweet potato fries and my husband ordered the Spicy Downeaster Burger with sweet potato fries. The quality of their food is excellent! The prices are fair and match the taste and the presentation. The interior of the inside is clean and cozy! If you have guests from out of town or are dining with friends, Timber offers an eye pleasing esthetic for photos. The only downside to our experience were the other guests who seemed offended we were not quite within dress code. The restaurant staff themselves did not seem to mind we were underdressed. Although Timber is lumberjack themed, check your flannels and L.L. Bean boots at the door or be prepared for some less than friendly looks- and comments. read more

And, as soon as we sat down, our waiter promptly took care of us. As we reviewed the menu, we found a lot of great options. So, we decided to order a lot of different items. All of it was quite good. Each was beautifully presented, and well prepared. Considering how many people were being served that night i was gobsmacked with the consistency. The positive testament was in the 9 clean plates that were returned to the kitchen. They have a nice wine and beer selection. None of us had mixed drinks, but i expect them to be equivalent in preparation and presentation as their liquor list is extensive. Yes, I'll go back. And by myself too. No about the servers and staff? Well trained, very affable, and most accommodating. Even while they were running around waiting on other tables we did not feel our party of 9 was neglected. Excellent service by Oceana and the food was decent. Looked better than it tasted. The minus one star for the 3 amateurs, probably high school kids with poor manners, manning the front desk. They told me in a condescending tone to make sure to eat and leave in 2.5 hours as they need our table for someone else. First: one doesn't need 2.5 hours for lunch with 2 little kids. Second: you never say that at a restaurant unless the guest was late for their reservation and even then you preface with the fact that you are very busy. Third: do not discuss VERY personal/private matters with coworkers within earshot of guests. Fourth: offer menus to guests to look over while they wait. Fifth: do not serve food in broken serve ware. One would think that these kids would engage some common sense before making first impressions and representing the hotel and restaurant. read more
