Raw sewage smell permeated the cabin. The office was closed and we couldn't reach anyone to help. We moved to a hotel on the strip in Pigeon Forge. This review is based on my stay at "The Blessing" in the end of September, 2014. The Good - - the cabin has amazing views of the Wears Valley. - the cabin was clean, had a nice selection of cookware, & the beds were very comfortable. - the hot tub on the deck looked out over the view. - the cabin is located on a street with not many other homes. The bad - - the cabin is located high up on the mountain (good) but the road is very narrow & it's got a lot of sharp turns. If you're an older person & don't like to drive at night you won't be able to leave the cabin. - the hot tub is filled with well water & it smells bad. Also after one use it started to make brown foam. - the Internet is a joke. You'd be better to use a Motorola Razr for Internet. - the deck could use a remodel We booked our cabin rental for ten people. We were able to get a deal through the website where we got 3 days for the price of 2. The check in at the office was a breeze. I'm (as my avatar shows) a younger male. I've always been told that I look young. I checked in with my boyfriend who equally looks young, however we're both 30. The woman at the check in desk was very friendly, although she asked if we were going to be "partying". I'm not sure if she thought we were going to be setting things on fire & screaming the whole night. I like a drink(s) but I don't get crazy. I understand that she had to ask, but I also signed a damages release so if we did, they had my card on file. The cabin is located high up a mountain. It allows for GORGEOUS views of the valley & of the sunset. The road to get up the cabin is a treacherous one. It's one lane in some parts & at the base of the mountain you have to turn onto what looks like drive ways but they're just connecting roads. Your cars GPS will not find it. The cabin itself was clean. It was a very comfortable cabin to stay in. It has "wifi" internet. The Internet was so slow it was useless. A six person hot tub is on the somewhat rotten deck. The hot tub had a very odd odor that after a call from the office we discovered is filled with well water & that caused the smell. It was a rotten egg/chemical smell. After one use of the tub it started to make brown foam. It was a bummer. You're provided with a metal box to put the trash in to keep away the animals. We didn't see any animals unfortunately but we did find a dead scorpion under one of the downstairs beds. Overall we enjoyed our stay & would rent again from TimberCreek Cabin Rentals. read more

We started at The Blessing the last few days. First, be warned the road up to the cabin is not for the queasy. It is very steep and narrow and in need of repairs in some places. The cabin itself is gorgeous and the views are breathtaking. The cabin needs some TLC though. Some of the cabinets are broken and several things are in need of an update. The office was great and sent someone out ASAP when we couldn't get the DVD player or tv to work when we tried to distract my niece while we cooked dinner. There were some big wet areas in our room downstairs as if they tried to clean up some messes last minute and the upstairs floor definitely needed a wipe down before we could really walk around in socks or bare feet. I didn't end up getting in the hot tub but my husband and his brother and sister in law did. They said it was nice but smelled a little strange. Over all, we had a great trip. The cabin needs some better upkeep. The views are amazing. read more

Look so far away from this gross, nasty, unclean place. Office staff doesn't care at all about blood on blankets, old retainer found in bathroom drawer, ants on counter, crumbs everywhere, inches of dust covering whole cabin and everything in it like a blanket of snow. We have twenty pictures of this filth and are reporting it to better business beau and health department. They edit the reviews on website and are liars. They never said sorry and were very rude. Tell everyone u know staying in the area to spread the word that this place is a health hazard in hopes of them cleaning up their act or just giving up. Pure family nightmare ruined our vacation don't expect any apologies from staff. We offered to go over the cabin with them to show them the filth and they declined which shows u that this isn't the first complaint. read more

I don't even know where to begin. We rented the Blessing, a 4 bedroom four bath home from July 15 thru 21st. The cabin itself has a million dollar view, and is a great cabin, but as long as Timbercreek maintains the cabin we will not return. The floor in the downstairs was soaking wet, evidently from an issue with the AC return. Tiles in the AC room were moldy. A repairman came and removed the tiles (we were told it had just happened but mold doesn't grow that fast). Eventually they brought a portable dehumidifier, which only worked for a day. When we left the carpet was still soaked. The problems continued when we tried to use the oven on Saturday only to find it did not work. A call to the rental office offered little help. We were offered a three bedroom two bath replacement for four nights according to the woman in the office which would not work for us. As it was the weekend no manager was available. The next issue came when our daughter and son-in-law went to bed that night. They found blood and bodily fluids on the sheets. In an attempt to "cover it up" there was an extra sheet put over the soiled sheet. There are some things you can accept but this was hazardous to say the least. My son in law took a photo of the sheet and sent it to Timbercreek. The office was closed but it opened on Sunday at 1. We received no response. So we called again. We were again told they would move us to a 3 bed/2 bath and again told them it was unacceptable. The dishes were dirty and we discovered that the dishwasher compartment which dispensed the soap was jammed and was full of soap powder so am guessing dishes were not even washing. We had to rewash everything. Sunday no call or contact about the sheets or stove. Monday we called again and this time the manager was in . I brought the sheet down to her and she stated that "she had talked to housekeeping and they NEVER make the bed in the manner described" almost as though we were accused of bringing the dirty sheet with us. I was incensed. We also brought to their attention to dishwasher and oven issue. A repairman came and when we got home the oven was flashing error signals. When we called we were told it didn't work (DUH) and they would try to get a new stove in. They put one in while we were gone Tuesday so we say thank you for that. Still nothing on the sheet. Other problems-the cabin itself was dirty. We swept the floor under the bed and bagged candy wrappers and huge dust detritus (some really gross and evidence that the cabin has not been cleaned well). We ended up cleaning the bathroom and running the vac. The kitchen and wood floors were filthy but I did not come on vacation to clean. I am asking to have the cleaning fee returned. Will see what happens there. There were other issues which we found as the week continued. The door to the deck from one of the bedrooms looked as though someone had gouged it with a knife trying to open it (which didn't work as we could not open the door). We are home now and have still never heard anything on the sheet. Oh, the topper. the checkout time is 10. We had a long drive ahead of us. Cleaned up after ourselves, packed up and headed to the rental office (which is supposed to open at 8:30 on Saturday). We arrived there at 9:15 only to find the door locked. Through the door you could see a man at the computer with his back to us. We knocked on the door, he turned and held up a finger to us. We waited and he turned his back again. I knocked again and he yelled through the door he had computer problems. I told him we wanted to check out. Basically we ended up in a shouting match. He finally unlocked the door and let us in and stated he was trying to get the computer working. I told him we just wanted to turn in the keys and leave. His name is Jim and his customer service skills stink........I could probably go on and on. I knew if I left the bag of trash from the cottage with him he would toss it and the manager would never see it. I threatened to go to the Health Department if I did not hear anything and I still may have to. But for now, I will give them a chance to respond. But in the meantime. Let me say. I will never, never, ever go through this company again. Reading some of the other reviews makes me confident we are not the only ones who find their cleaning skills sorely lacking and their customer service poor. Hopefully this will help someone else when thinking about a rental. read more

Wow, I am very surprised by some of these reviews and just had to defend the good folks at TCCR. I have stayed with them many many times over the years and have found their cabins to be first class. Sure at times the pollen/dust is heavy and sure at times you will see bees, bugs, spiders and other insects but I understand being in a "semi wilderness" area that is to be expected. Anytime I have dealt with the office staff I have found them courteous and helpful. I plan on staying with TCCR each time I visit the Smokies. read more

We have been staying with Timbercreek Cabin Rentals for several years now. We have never experienced any problems until this time. We stayed at Wholly Smokies in March 2016. The cabin was absolutely filthy. The rails around all of the porches were about to fall over. If anyone had leaned against them, they would have fallen through. There was dust all over the entertainment center and on the shelves. There was dried macaroni and cheese stuck to the wall. It appeared that it had been there for a while. The drain in the upstairs tub would not work. The downstairs shower had duct tape on the bottom of the door. Most of the blinds were broken or missing. The AC stopped working on the third day of the being there. The cover to the hot tub had about a roll of duct tape on it also. The water in the hot tub seemed as though it had never been changed. We had to take the garbage to the dumpster located behind the rental office, which was several miles away. The floors had large cracks in them, which allows for a lot of dirt in the cracks, which has never been vacuumed out. The varnish on the floor was also peeling off. The driveway was so small that it takes about a 40 point turn to get turned around. The video that is on their website is not accurate when it comes to this cabin. The video shows a nice, clean cabin. When we went to check out the person at the front desk was on the phone so I couldn't tell her about our experience. We will definitely be looking for a different rental company next year. read more
