Generally I do not write reviews I read them before committing to travel. However, I decided to give back as I use the reviews here so often. This is an accurate summery of our experience. Since the site allows only one selection I will outline our entire experience with the Timberlake's Pub and restaurant. My wife took me to the Chetola Resort for my 58th Birthday. After checking into the resort and unwinding in the room we decided to go to the pub and have a few drinks before diner. The pub area is rather small with a bar and a few tables. When we first walked into the pub the first thing to hit us was the noise level. The tables in the Pub were all occupied with families with young children toddler or younger. The atmosphere was loud and the children were allowed to dominate the area with the parents caring little for others in the room. First, it's a Pub why all the children. I felt like I was at the Great wolf lodge. We ordered a drink but had to leave the pub area. One and done. So much for enjoying the Pub. Breakfast the next morning at Timberlake's started with a 30-minute wait. Once seated we ordered breakfast. I had the traditional eggs benedict. I have to say the meal we very underwhelming and I'm confident I would have had better at Dennys. We had dinner reservations that night at Timberlake's which we cancelled after breakfast. So much for enjoying the on-site Pub or restaurant. read more

Food poisoning from a poor meal. Don't let the wedding reception catering photos fool you, this breakfast is no better than a poorly ran Cracker Barrel with stone walls. Turkey sausage likely frozen since the pioneers passed through (at least with respect to the breakfast). I may get some hate, "oh it's only the breakfast", but how many times have you messed up scrambled eggs and bacon? I cannot believe people pay more than that of a holiday inn for this abysmal food quality. I am appalled and will never be returning. read more

We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at Timberlake's. At breakfast, we had just a simple bacon, eggs, toast selection and it was good. We were their at 7:30, right when they opened. About halfway through breakfast, an older gentleman is seated at the next table. Eventually a conversation ensues regarding this being our first visit to Blowing Rock, etc. We are informed that this area has some of the finest trout fishing in the world and this fellow should know, because he had occasion to experience many fishing holes around the world. This one is world class. We asked how long he has been coming here..."oh, 80 years or so," and did he own a condo or time share..."oh I have a place nearby." He rattled off the phone number of the front desk in case we wanted to return sometime and book the trout fishing guide. And, we had a nice conversation about his son in law, who lives in our hometown and is a youth pastor. Upon leaving, we introduce ourselves and he says, "It is a pleasure to meet you, enjoy your stay, my name is Bob." Later on, I am thinking about how long he has been coming here, how he traveled the world fly fishing and that he must be wealthy....and it dawned on me - Bob....Timberlake....sure enough! Nice man. The dinner Chilean sea bass was delicious as well as the Korean BBQ short ribs and the berry salad was outstanding. read more

This review is for a few months back. Forgot to write it 'til now, and better late than never am I right? Didn't have the highest expectations coming here for dinner, but was pleasantly surprised. I got the pan seared salmon with coconut rice and asparagus. The salmon was super flakey and tender, and the coconut rice was subtly sweet with a nice chew. Roasted asparagus was also great. I tried some of the korean short rib, a massive portion. Also great flavor in the korean bbq sauce and was cooked expertly. The seafood pasta was good but not remarkable. The kale salad with prosciutto was fine but gave someone in my party an upset stomach (only she ate it and the rest of us were fine). Interpret that information as you will. I didn't take off a star because of it, since I wasn't affected. The sangria I ordered was 3/5 stars. The flavor was a bit weird and it had cubes of cantaloupe in it. Like come on, cantaloupe? Aka the fruit reserved for fruit bowls you get as a side to try to be healthy and then never eat because it's cantaloupe and just is the most boring fruit ever. Anyway. Moving on to breakfast buffet: I'd say it's worth it to come here and get the buffet if you can eat a lot. I loaded up on everything including the smoked salmon and all was decent. Overall, not a bad option if you're too lazy to go into town. Food is just hit-or-miss. Service is kinda sucky and slow, but you already know that based on the other reviews. read more

Took the boat over from Lexington, only complaint was the heat. Until we got in the restaurant. Very comfortable, excellent service, meal. Then back on the boat. We will definitely go again. Golf cart service up and back is a nice touch as well. read more

There weren't enough waiters/servers what should have been a 1.5 hour dinner stretched out to over 2.5 hours - unacceptable! Our drinks order was not delivered accurately: a glass of red wine instead of white, the wrong beer, no olives in the martini, and there was a long wait to get them. The prices were a lot higher than we expected. Overall, although we've dined at Timberlakes many times over the last 5 years and have enjoyed it, this is the worst we've ever seen it. We won't be going back anytime soon. There are so many good restaurants in Blowing Rock! Bistro Roca, Speckled Trout, Foggy Rock, Twigs, etc. Don't waste your time and money at Timberlakes! read more

Did the takeout Thanksgiving dinner. Paid a premium price so expected a nice meal. Very, very disappointed. Some decent turkey, pork medallions in a mustard sauce, dressing, mashed potatoes. There was a small container of greens, raw carrots( not Al dente) absolutely raw, no gravy, no cranberry sauce. Was an average so-so meal but very overpriced. We tried to get reservations to eat there but could not get them. I would NOT suggest getting the takeout holiday meal to anyone. Serving size was small as well. read more

My food was delicious. I had the power bowl, and had them add some turkey sausage which they chopped up. Delicious. Restaurant was not busy at all, which made it a great setting to have some peace and quiet with family for our morning breakfast. Our waitress was great as well. Excellent! The Chetola Resort property is gorgeous, as well as the restaurant. The service was excellent. The food is less than mediocre especially for the price. The New York strip was a terrible cut of meat with no taste. In addition, the baked potato was cold and seemed to have been cooked much earlier in the day. I would expect a restaurant that is listed as "fine dining" at this price to be stellar. read more

Always accommodating as long as you have a reservation. We had several kids and the staff was just so kind and patient. The fish was fantastic and they even had a birthday surprise for dessert. It is nice but not stuffy inside. We love coming here for a nice occasion when staying at Chetola and will be back! read more

Went here for our 40th Anniversary celebration. All in all, a wonderful experience. The main course for me was a New York Strip. Tender, juicy and excellent flavor, not to mention "almost" more that I could eat. Wife had the trout, which she said was delicious. For such a wonderful place as Chetola, this restaurant has a lot of catching up to do food wise. First time here, but after the mediocre food they gave us, we'll be sure not to eat there again. We really wanted to like it, but it just wasn't good food. read more

We had an excellent lunch on Fathers Day on the Patio over looking the Lake. The staff wore masks, distancing & other protocols were in place & it was most appreciated. The menu is pared down a bit due to circumstances but all the offerings were delicious. Call ahead & Enjoy a relaxing meal with great service. This restaurant served the worst salad I have ever had! The salad was all wilted and gross, I couldn't believe they would have the audacity to expect someone to eat that. The manager took the salad off the bill but still charged for the salmon. This was in poor taste since the whole lunch experience was ruined by old lettuce leaves!. Will not be returning. read more

Terrible service. We made a reservation and requested the patio. Upon arrival, there was no shade as the umbrellas were broken, and we were seated at a table with bird droppings, which was cleaned upon my request. No wine list or drink menu was provided. After 15 minutes, I went to the bar and requested the manager. He apologized and provided a drink menu and returned 10 minutes later for our drink order and starter. The drinks took another 10 minutes. After that, the food came in an expected amount of time. The food was decent (3.5) stars. We waited awhile for the check and then the server kept our credit card for 20 minutes to process. Nothing was comp'ed for our trouble at the beginning. The ambiance on the patio was pretty. Staying here at Chetola, Timberlake is easy for breakfast, and rather nice for dinner. The wait staff is friendly and quick for service. Because of 19, the mask waiting to be seated is wrong, but not faulting the business. We want to patronize smaller venues knowing it helps keep the doors open and reviews of this restaurant, and the lodge brought us here to visit. Portions are of good size, and rather flavorful. We've tried several items for both breakfast and dinner without disappointment. read more

Need a reservation even if a guest at the resort. Online ordering to go wouldn't work. Called 3 times to get someone to answer to take the order over the phone. Was quoted an hour for carry out - revived in about 20 minutes. Fish and chips was a good choice. read more

We came here early April and boy are we glad we did. The food, service and ambiance was top notch. We had breakfast and everything was tasty and exactly what we hoped for coming in. The restaurant was part of a resort but we didn't have any trouble getting through the property (which was beautiful by the way) and finding it. read more

Came here with my mom, was so confused throughout the whole experience. Server was only just fine. Food runner looked and acted like he'd just come straight from a darty as he didn't have much to say or even barely acknowledge when he brought out the missing eggs (???) for my mom's croque madam. Like be so fr, how to you mess up a croque madam, it's like 2 ingredients away from being a grilled cheese. We were actually laughing at how poor the food quality was. I had no idea my brunch burger was supposed to come with 2 mcdonalds hash browns, but who am I to complain. Our side of pancakes were completely inedible, batter still oozing out of them, swear to god. I literally tried giving them multiple chances but had to spit my food out like a toddler because of how raw it was, batter clinging to the inside of my mouth. Not once did a staff member ask if our food was satisfactory and I had to practically flag them down as if I was hailing a taxi, and not once were our waters filled. We had a reservation and still had to wait which was extremely awkward. Mind you this place was NOT busy and I don't say that lightly. I was actually embarrassed to be here. read more

I have never given a one star rating to anywhere before but this is the one. The service was truly horrible from beginning to end. Two out of the six in our party never got side items for their order one person didn't even get their meal. We finally Received it after asking three times when the rest of us were done eating. We asked for the check to be split properly between the couples three times and that didn't happen. I called back and spoke to the manager of the establishment he promised to call me back the next day So we could get clarity on how this happened. We didn't ask for a refund the one meal that was not received was free. The manager never called back. We have eaten here several times before and never had a problem. This was truly awful. Menu has been trimmed down to nothing and the service was beyond horrible. read more

The restaurant is located in an absolutely beautiful setting. It's on the front side of Chetola Resort with a great view of the lake. Unfortunately, there's no seating without a reservation. Fortunately, a table in the lounge was available, so we were seated immediately. The lounge is a bit small, and noisy with the other tables full of patrons, but the view is excellent. The bartender had to tend the busy bar, make all the restaurant drinks, and act as our server. Despite this, she provided pleasant and timely service. The menu here is extremely limited, but my wife and I each found something we liked. She had the chicken and mashed potatoes. The chicken was wonderful, the mashed potatoes quite ordinary. I had the pork chop, perhaps the most tender and juiciness I've ever had, and asparagus (just four large stalks). You only get one side included. We also found a glass of wine to our liking. We skipped dessert, but spent time walking the grounds before leaving. Overall, it was a very nice experience. read more

My husband and I had the BEST experience as first timers. We sat at the bar due to a full house of reservations and were served super quick and everything was absolutely delicious. If I were rating on service, I would give Timberlake 4 star, but a 3 star for ambiance. The ambiance is nice but the loud music coming from the other room was distracting. If you are going to have a mediocre musician, at least stick him in the corner of the bar so it doesn't interfere with people trying to have conversations at dinner. However, food and pricing need to be considered and a 3 star is as high as I can go. We have eaten at Timberlake several times in the past and found the food good and the pricing reasonable. We were surprised to see how much they have raised their prices. $ 40 for trout and an additional $ 6 for a side salad is overpriced, as is $ 42 for a chicken dinner and salad. My husband had the trout which he said was good but my chicken was not even edible. I've never been served chicken so tough that it was difficult to even cut. When the server asked how our meals were, I told her that the chicken was very tough and her response was "but how does it taste". I responded I didn't know because I was still trying to cut it so I could taste it. With other excellent restaurants in the area with better pricing we will definitely not be back. read more

Despite the wait after making a birthday reservation, the foods were delicious, especially the soups. The desserts, not so good. The crème brûlée was out of the refrigerator and really cold. Service and atmosphere were nice. Great cozy feel. Filet mignon was the best on the menu. Our waitress Sydney made the experience lovely. Outstanding dinner! The veal chop was delicious encrusted in herbs, garlic and capers. The shrimp and grit cakes were by far the best that I have had. They were served with andouille sausage and red peppers, very light and tasty. The pear and arugula salad was also a hit! So glad we decided to eat onsite! read more

I dined at Timberlake several times over the years while visiting friends who have a vacation condo on site. I have always had a good experience with the staff & the kitchen . I recently dinned on Oct 20th and was not pleased . I understand the head chef had recently moved on ? We had a party of ten . Numerours drink and dinner orders were messed up . I ordered " crispy duck with squash puree and risotto " I was served thick sliced duck loins rapped in fat with mashed potatoes " . After bringing it to the servers attention I was brought the puree and risotto. No sign of crispy duck in the house . I do hope they can get their head chef back! Breakfast the next moring was good though i had to flag down a waiter as no one came to the table for 15 minutes after we were seated and there was practically no one there at the time . read more

We visited Timberlake's over the July 4th holiday weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The location and restaurant itself were very nice, that much is true. Had the weather been nicer (it was raining), we probably would have spent time near the fire pit or walking around the lake. Food: I ordered the Filet, with a side Caesar and mashed potatoes. The side salad was just ok, with neither the croutons or dressing being anything special. The steak was overly salty (and we do season our meats before grilling so I know some salt is good) and the potatoes again, nothing to write home about. My husband had the duck breast with a tomato soup and green beans. He, too indicated the meal was "just ok". We passed on the dessert. Service: The hostess was less than enthused and seemed annoyed to be there but our server was attentive and offered suggestions. Bottom line: There are some other options in the Blowing Rock area that we would choose to revisit, this meal was not memorable enough to be one of them. Another quick note (and this surprised us), they stopped accepting American Express cards about two weeks before our visit. For a location that claims to be a "resort" we found that to be a huge disappointment and yet another reason why we won't likely be back when we're in the area next summer. read more
