    Nice place

Did a review 9 years ago and we still come to the smokies twice a year. Which means we come here twice a year. The food is always really good. The prices are a little steep but, like I said it's always good. My wife had the cheeseburger yesterday and my step daughter had the fish ( cod) and chips. She said it was the best she ever had. We're never disappointed. We always come here.

I opted for the fish and chips and was pleasantly surprised with the size of the portion served. Whatever sauce they serve with it was delicious! The coleslaw was pretty good, too! With most of their lunch menu being $15-17, it's not the cheapest place in town to dine. With that said, we did get a wonderful server who made our experience very enjoyable. Will come back again in the future.

Hey guy, we're from out of town and sorry for messing up your strict regimen. Sorry you must be annoyed about working on New Years but you could at least be hospitable to people who are also doing un-fun things on NYE. See attached pic - no sign in our parking spot past the multiple spaces we passed w signage for pick up. Update your signage if you're going to be a jerk about it.

The food was good. I loved the sweet potato waffle fries. My husband said his steak and cheese was good but could have been warmer. Service was good but a little slow for a late Friday evening. Our waitress was nice and attentive, checking in on our drinks several times and refilling consistently.

We came with friends, who frequent Timberwood Grill and rave about it. On this instance, our food was simply average. My friend recommended the Caribbean Salmon, which we both ordered. We both agreed that it was rather dry and tasteless. This was much different than the last time they ordered the exact same Salmon entree. Perhaps, it was an off night or a new chef. My other friends ordered the Fish Tacos and the Steak Salad, which they both enjoyed. The service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was packed, so it is a popular location for a Friday evening.

    Timberwood Wings - Full Order

We were in town for a wedding and were looking for a place to eat one night and came across Timberwood. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was busy but we sat at the bar so we got seats right away. We were served drinks and order was taken very quickly for it being busy. There were a a good amount of TV's in the bar area and they had all the good games on. The bartender was very busy but took good care of us. I got the wings with buffalo and general tso's flavors sauces. The buffalo wings were not very warm but the gerneral tso's were which was odd but they were both very good. My buddy also got wings but boneless and with buffalo and honey BBQ. He said they were good. Overall a great experience. Would definitely go back if in the area.

Mushroom Ravioli in Pesto Cream Sauce.

I ordered the Mushroom Ravioli in Pesto Cream Sauce to go for $17.70. As soon as I picked up the bag, I wondered if they handed me an empty container. Tiny portion size for the price. The taste? Absolutely amazing. SO good! But, after a few bites, the richness gets to you and you need to break it up with another taste, but there's no veg or salad, just the ravioli. Now, to be fair, maybe it said a la cart and I didn't notice, didn't think about it, but for that price, there should be more on the plate. I think a salad or side should have been included for that price. As good as it was, I will not eat here again. A few pieces of good ravioli just doesn't justify the price.

Fantastic food! The filet melts in your mouth and the crab bisque is yummy. Great people, great service.

The fried green tomatoes were crispy and dressed with an awesome spinach and corn salad. A whole meal themselves. We ordered shrimp po boy sliders that were a little spicy and sweet with Cole slaw. I'd get them again any day! Butter biscuits and then shrimp and grits were also delicious. However, we needed to invite 2 more people because the portions were so generous. It's just too bad they are not located in our neighborhood in Florida!

We got the fish sandwich, tail of two fish and wharf scramble. My fish sandwich looks substantial at first but there were more batter than fish. Every bite I am just eating the crunchy batter. The accompanying tartar sauce was delicious. Their no cost substitute is nice touch. I would say it was a decent experience but really not sure if I would go back given there are many restaurants with similar menu. Our waitress was working incredibly hard. She seems to be the only one waiter serving all the indoor tables. It was late afternoon but still. I've been to restaurants where there were 3 handling same amount of tables and not getting services.

This hotel is in the middle of a college town that has pretty much nothing except Wal-Mart and a Gold's Gym, and it exceeded my expectations for food quality. What I had during my stay there: their traditional buffalo wings, cobb salad, blue ridge BBQ, triple chocolate cake, guacamole, and hazelnut iced coffee. All of these except for the guacamole were enjoyable to eat. The guacamole tasted like artificially mashed avocados and it was overly acidic. I expected salad that was wilted and sandwiches that came out like a plastic mold, but it didn't. It tasted like good food. I docked them one star due to inconsistent service. There was one specific waitress there who gave us so much attitude and stood around the register/computer the entire time. There were other times where the service was excellent, although still a bit on the slow side. It took them a while to take our orders, and screwed up our order as well. We had to remind our waiter to wipe off our table because there were scraps of food and water spots sitting there for a while. The restaurant is only so big, and there were only so many people, I find this to be subpar service.

Lots of room for big groups or if you want to sit at the bar area. I would advise coming in on the earlier side if you are in a bigger group. But have no fear! Tables are usually cleaned and relatively quickly. I typically get a sweet and savory dish to split with a friend. The Chickichanga with potatoes, my go-to, is delicious! The perfect blend of eggs, chicken breast, onions, and avocado all wrapped in a tortilla. A side of greens goes perfectly to balance out the meal. I also recommend the Lemon Ricotta pancakes - soft, pillowy, and the lemon/strawberries provide a fresh taste. Definitely worth the visit if you are in the Ville!

The app was utilized to get in line which has worked well in the past and did on this visit. Our waitress was quick to get drinks just after being seated by the hostess who provided menus. The restaurant was packed with normal Saturday crowd and UVA move-in. Everything was clean at our table and the place was really hopping! When drinks hit the table we ordered. I wanted their famous million dollar bacon as an app to share. I ordered Eggs Florentine with side of fruit. My daughter waffle with eggs and side of bacon. My wife eggs, ham and greens. Everyone reported they enjoyed. Within 5 minutes bacon was on the table and so yummy! Another 15 minutes food pushed out. My dish was cooked correctly and very good. Our waitress performed a table check. Check out was very quick after the receipt was dropped. I tipped well with great service.

This is a clean, no-nonsense, down to earth BBQ place and it's delicious! I've been several times since they've opened & haven't been disappointed. I've come in during dinner & almost closing, and the food has been consistently good. The pictured dishes are the platters with 2 meats & 2 sides. I couldn't finish my platter & had the rest for lunch (still delicious cold) a couple days after. The standout for me (besides the meats) were the onion rings! These are NOT the pre-frozen ones. These are fresh-cut, seasoned, & breaded, and they are ADDICTIVE! They make other ones look sad. The baked beans are cooked with brisket pieces. The sandwiches are generous, too. The meats are smoked, tender & delicious. The sauces are also handmade, not bottled. So, you're going to have sample for your preferred flavor & heat. Not a problem because they have little sauce cups that you can use. I will definitely be patronizing this locally owned & run establishment.
