This place is just perfect to entrust your watches & clocks to. I am in love with my watch and won't let anyone else touch it. Knowledgeable and friendly staff with WONDERFUL prices. This is a locally owned business that the entire family works in. The father is a veteran and they offer 2 free watch batteries a year to teachers, police officers, firemen & fire women and I believe service members (but I'm not 100% on that). They are closed Sunday & Monday but open at 10 all other days. Even if you live far away this place is worth the drive, they even do most repairs while you wait. Pure perfection! read more

I found this gem on Yelp looking to change the battery on my MK watch. The business has been around since 1986 and it appears to be family owned. They repair vintage clocks, cuckoo clocks, and grandfather clocks. The young lady at the front desk was super helpful in more ways than one. When I read sign that they only accepted cash or checks, my plan was to go to a nearby ATM and the woman mentioned there was no need for cash. She asked if I have FB or Yelp, and lead me to a coupon for a free battery replacement and replaced the watch seal that was warped at no charge. I am definitely bringing in all of our watches for battery replacement here! The cost is minimal when taking your watch for battery replacement ($5). I highly recommend Time Masters. read more

Rather ironic that the business name is "Time Masters," given their lack of the mastery of time. In March, I brought in several watches to be repaired, including two that needed new bands. Since specialty bands had to be ordered, I was told I would receive a call in a week to let me know how much they cost. A week passed, and no call. I left a message asking for an update. I eventually received a call a week later, telling me they didn't yet have the information since they had been so busy. At the end of April, I stopped by to see how things were progressing. I was told they were busy planning their new store, how grandchildren had been sick/in the hospital, etc., and didn't yet have an update. I'm a very understanding person, so I left the store hoping things will eventually get better. Two more months passed, and still no response on my watches. I visited the store at the end of June, and by this point they couldn't even remember my original request. I was told the bands were not yet in, when they were supposed to call and tell me how much they cost before even placing an order! Of course, I got more feedback about how they are "so busy with their new location" and the grandchildren have been "in and out of the doctor's office." I asked for my watches back and left. The work done to replace the capacitor on one of my other watches was good, a reasonable price, and completed within a month, so I have to give some credit there. However the rest of the interaction really soured me on using them in the future. I went to Time Masters given all the great reviews on Yelp, but in the end was disappointed. Three months with no progress on watch band replacements is very poor customer service. read more

Honest and I have been a customer for over 18 years. Can fix gold watches, Rolex to antique key clocks. Family run. Second generation, daughter works with her father. Good people. Dachsund lovers also, so of course they are great. I was almost cheated by competitor on 38th in Austin. Until he said my gold watch had rusted.....what? We have a 25+ year-old pendulum wall clock that we love, that stopped working. We took it to another clock shop in Austin, who went on & on about how old the mechanism was, and that they'd clean it but didn't think that would help, and that we were probably looking at an expensive full replacement of the mechanism. Sure enough, it worked for a few weeks after that but then stopped again. This time we went to Time Masters. We knew them from years ago in a previous location, and wanted a second opinion. And thank goodness! He examined it, noticing (and showing us) immediately that some of that "cleaning" the other shop claimed to do hadn't even been very thorough. He never once suggested it might not be repairable, and sure enough, a week or so later we got it back and it's been running like, well, like clockwork ever since. I wouldn't even think of going anywhere else to buy or service a clock or watch in Austin, these folks are *the best*. read more

The gentleman at the counter was very friendly, I brought in a Tag Heuer for a stem and crown problem that I had, as it turns out the watch had to be sent out to the factory for repair as he couldn't work on it. Took my antique mantle clock in for a minor fix. Not only did they fix it in 10 minutes, but they also didn't charge me anything. I offered to leave $10, because I was feeling bad about not paying, but the owner declined. The clock is an antique, so I didn't know the history. The owner took the time to explain the clock's history and narrow the manufacture date to around 1900. This is the only place in town I will take my clocks and watches. Owner has almost 50 years of experience and really knows what he's doing. read more

So excited to have found this amazing business right in my Avery Ranch neighborhood yesterday. I needed a battery out in my Tag watch and they charged $40 less than my jeweler. Yes, $40 LESS. I also had a clock that was my grandmother's that was not running, so I took it with me and John got it opened up and realized it just needed a battery, at no charge. In addition, they are just the most wonderful, welcoming people. Margaret at the front counter is so knowledgeable and helpful, and the shop is super cute with lots of great finds and gifts at very fair prices. This small family owned clock shop and repair business is the best in customer service. I recently had my grandfather clock serviced. Not only were they timely during the busiest time of year, the house calls made by Mary, Edward and Grant were top notch. Mary's knowledge and expert advice helped me understand more about my clock. She puts everything in writing and goes through all of it to be sure once she leaves, after she, her husband Edward and their son Grant get things set up, there are no stones left unturned. If you're a watch slut like me, you have to get new batteries more often than others. I have 8 watches. And 3 were out of commission for months! I didn't know where to take my watches, and I'm not super handy to change out batteries. I called to confirm that they charge $5 for a battery replacement per watch, any watch. Everywhere I had been calling was charging $15 per battery. While it was totally out of the way for me, it was worth the drive. I waited maybe 5 minutes. Started with stellar service but became an unforgettable BAD experience, sorry need to vent. Took a brand new $5000 Cartier that was a 40th Wedding Anniversary gift for sizing and to have the battery and authenticity checked since it was bought on the grey market. Watch did have CARTIER engraved on inner movement, so that was a good thing. After trying several different sizes of batteries, battery was replaced and when returned home noticed that the watch was not running. Went back the next day and was told that the back should have never been removed even though they did. The new battery checked out OK and was told that one the inner three components was damaged. To add to the stress, called the next day and was told that the components were OK and the main circuit board was fried and had to be replaced with a generic ETA board that had to be ordered. They would take care of the costs to make it right. Waited another day and then decided that with the innards having to be replaced with generic parts it would render this family legacy piece into a worthless fake. Went to pick up the watch the next day to send directly to Cartier, a $300-$700 a repair cost, and was told the main circuit board was OK. The cause of the problem was fixed by a drop of oil which leaves a shadow of doubt since the prior diagnosis had pointed towards inner component failures. His explanation implied that we had pulled the stem out too hard to turn off the battery causing the stoppage. Implication did not set well, so ending up explaining that we never touched the stem and the watch was only worn for a total of an hour or so. Austin will be getting an authorized Cartier dealer in the June time frame and will have it checked again, so until then. read more

I had 7 watches that needed new batteries and a watch that needed a pin where the clasp on the watch was. These guys are great -- super sweet and fast! All the batteries were replaced within minutes (for $5 a pop) and I just had to come back in an hour for the pin in the clasp of the other watch. Great people here. I've had 2 watches that needed a new battery and each time they were very fast with excellent service. Before this I took my Tag to a place inside Lakeline mall about 4 years ago and they said I needed a special battery for my watch and it would last longer and it would cost $50. I said sure I will take the special battery. Now as I am getting my battery replaced here the kind gentleman showed me the "special" battery for my Tag that the other place put in and it was just the standard energizer battery that everyone use. The battery replacement only cost me $5 here and for the exact same battery. Man I feel so ripped off now that it makes me sick to my stomach.
