I ordered the pizza sub. It came out looking a little different than it usually does from other places. First bite, I was chewing and thought to myself. Wow this doesn't taste normal. Next thing I pull out strips of plastic. After I pulled out four pieces of plastic, I told him no I need a new sandwich. They made a new sandwich and yet same thing again I choked on the first piece gagging. Then pulled out three more long strips. Could not even finish the sandwich. Told them they cannot feed people plastic. This is not acceptable, and walked out!!! 2 sandwiches both full of plastic !! I've been going there for the past 2 1/2 years at least once a week or the same sandwich I usually order every single week when I went in there this week I ordered my sandwich and when they brought it to my table, I started eating it it tasted funny. There is lettuce at the bottom with mayo Like they threw it on top of their clean table, and they didn't clean off their table when they put the meat on to my sandwich, so whoever the new owners are really suck at what they're doing the old owners cleaned everything before they made people sandwiches on the counter. I will never eat there again. and the people need to learn how to clean their countertops before they make a sandwich and their knives. read more

Not a bad sandwich, but nothing special. On par with Subway. Jersey Mike's, Jimmy John's & Firehouse put out a better sub, in my humble opinion. Basic strip mall sandwich shop vibe. Clean shop. Decent service. Disappointed that more cheese options weren't available. Provolone is plain and boring. Swiss is slightly better, so I went with that on my Kong Club. Pepper-jack would be awesome! The only sandwich shop on Fleming. Firehouse is high brow subway and Publix is a grocery store( still better than firehouse). The pepper topping is awesome (giardiniera I think). Haven't had a bad sub there. I'd love to have some marble rye for the NY Pastrami, but I'm nitpicking. Staff is nice and line goes fast. read more

The woman who was running the place today kept locking the entrance door to keep people out because she said she was too busy. Apart from being a fire hazard it confused the hell out of everyone trying to get in. When someone actually let me in all she gave was attitude. The place wasn't even busy, there was like 5 people in. She told someone to lock the door as soon as I entered. Crazy. Then my sandwich was burnt. I think she was punishing me. read more

Happy they offer gluten free bread for sandwiches!!!! Atmosphere is average could use some updating to feel more welcoming. However one of the employees stands out front smoking so when you walk in you walk right into her smoke & then I noticed she threw the cigarette butt on the ground right in front of the door. Littering is against the law & come on!!!! Put it out then throw it in the trash... and find another place to smoke instead of in front of the place I want to eat my food at. We had not been here in years. Our food was good, sandwiches hot and cold. But bummer they have Pepsi products, but also offer Crystal Light and Iced Tea. They need to put some time into cleaning and removing food encrusted table ads, etc. Great food. read more

I've never actually eaten inside this location, but I've been to the one in Green Cove Springs a few times. I had the pleasure of having my brother delivery one of their tasty subs for lunch working at my parents' house during persimmon season. The subs here are above average and mine really hit the spot. Husband and I wanted to split a sub, large. I like cold subs and he likes hot. Ordered our sub and asked that my half not be heated. "Nope, has to be the whole thing," was the response I received. I smiled and said, "not even if we're getting the 12 inch and splitting it?" "Nope! Whole thing." Just an odd way to represent the company you work for. I was expecting "I'm sorry, it's our policy that hot subs are hot and cold subs are cold," or something like that. I'm over it, not that big of a deal... what bothers me is the lack of customer service. You wouldn't expect to see such rude behavior in a person of her age. Very disappointing. Took my business over to Firehouse- it was delicious! Ordered on the app at 3pm. They close at 5pm on Sundays. Got there at 3:15pm and the doors were locked and lights were out. They had no problem taking my order and money online but weren't open at their designated hours to actually give me the food. I could understand if there was an emergency with a note placed on the door but there was nothing. Also, several times I have asked for cups for the Datil sauce and they give me one thimble sized cup. Then when I stated I had no problem paying for the cups I was given attitude and one more thimble sized cup. Ive made a call/complaint to corporate and hope that I get my money back. Went to T Mobile and smelled their subs through the wall. I had no choice but to try them out. I had the meatball sub. It was delicious. I wish I could have added a few more additional items on it. Larry's Giant Subs has daily specials and I think because of their location may be less crowded than other sub shops on the island. Making your order a combo will save a little something and they do have some cool NY themed photos on the wall and tables while you wait for your order to be filled. If there is a line you may be waiting a bit but I have never been dissatisfied with the Kong's Club. It's normally served cold but they have no problem heating it up which I recommend. All and all, Larry's is a reliable alternative to the other sandwich shops in the area. read more

I went IN TO order 3 meals one a kids meal to go and they REFUSED ME SERVICE. Would not sell me a kids meal if my daughter was not present and were rude about it. What a joke this nasty place is. Tonight I ordered the Gold Rush. It's pretty tasty. It's pretty similar to another local establishment's Peruvian sub, with a couple of differences, one being that Larry's adds turkey to the Gold rush, which gives it its distinct flavor and sets it apart. In my opinion the Gold Rush stands on its own two feet and I recommend it to anyone looking for a different, but good, taste. The Peruvian sauce is kinda spicy but sweet. The pickle spears at Larry's are the best in town, crisp and salty. read more

When I went in there the red haired women or guy started being really rude and nasty saying a lot of vulgar language to the other workers and customers when I finally got to order it just got worse. She reached under the counter and grabbed a snack when I was waiting to order. My wife and I went in the store ordered our food and sat down and ate it. We starting hearing a conversation b ehind the counter the ladies that were working there. Next thing we heard was one of the ladies complaining about her job and using profanity in the restaurant. As we were leaving I confronted the ladies and told them that was unexceptable and was told that was the only thing she could say. I have visited 3 local Larry's Subs. The Roosevelt and Green Cove Springs locations are excellent! Love the food and the service is on target. However, for the second time in a row my order has not been correct at the Fleming Island, 220 location. The cashier rushes you thru the order, doesn't ask all the necessary questions so you can get the order the way you like it. Even when you make a special request, I have seen the ticket doesn't have the details printed on it for the preparer. Last time, my salad included an item I asked NOT to have on it and if I had not been watching them bag it, I would not have gotten salad dressing. This order, the sandwich was without standard items. Won't visit this location again even though it is convenient to my home and work. Hate getting a to-go order to find it is not what you want when getting it home. read more
