This food was delicious!! I would give it. 4.5, but I don't want to downvote it to a 4, so I'll give it 5 stars. The chicken was the best fried chicken I've had here in Omaha so far with it being juicy and the breading so crunchy! The fries weren't bad, but I feel like some seasoning would add to the experience. The potato salad was not my favorite, but I recognize that's personal taste- it was well made and tasted like it was made with love. I also got the German chocolate pie and it was yummy! High quality pie with high quality ingredients. Definitely recommend! The lady at the window was very sweet as well!

The Company Slogan is Omaha's Best Fried Chicken. WRONG! They have NEBRASKA'S Best Fried Chicken. Time Out has an old school fast food feel to it. A long window greets you as you walk in. A few booths to sit and enjoy and that is the whole space. The Menu is simple and small. Fried Chicken, a few Burgers. a couple sides. and a few Sandwiches. The Fried Chicken is the best ever! Wonderful crisp and great flavor. Cooked perfectly everytime. If you have not had any yet. run down and get yourself some. You will be hooked!!

North Omaha delivers on the Fried Chicken. Many Omaha residents would draw a hard line at Cuming st. due to the rougher areas in North O, but that is a shame because there are more serious eats and nice people in North Omaha than you would think. Is it worth the drive and the slightly sketchy neighborhoods? I sure think so. Time Out is located in a dilapidated parking lot, adjacent to a sad looking drive thru that's long been closed, and a liquor shop across the street which has an eerie glow at night and bars on the doors and the windows. It doesn't disappoint if this is a rare visit to a part of town you usually don't drive through. I did my best to avoid the prying stares of patrons sitting in their cars as I walked by and made my way to the counter. Ordering is easy- there are not many options. I suggest the 2-3 piece meal, which comes with drink, roll, coleslaw and runs you $7-9. You can request dark meat (yay). The skin is crispy, the chicken hot, and the food is ready very quickly. They also have a drive thru that moves at a rate of 5-7 mins per car. As I walked back to my car clutching the goods, even the "hey girl" hollered at me did not break my smile. Credit the chicken.

Okay, time to add more photos to this bomb place because the current ones on here don't do it justice. I literally waited in line for 30 minutes on a Friday noon to get my food so you best bet I had high expectations. Seriously, I saw state troopers come in, 18wheeler drivers come in, even someone got in line with a zip car they rented just to get this chicken. I got a 3 piece with a roll, small dirty rice, and a slice of German chocolate pie for all my troubles and the consensus is: It's pretty damn good! Chicken is THE BEST. Crunchy and full of flavor, obviously the highlight of the trip. The dirty rice is in one of those condiment containers people put to go salsa in so it's not a large quantity for a small and it wasn't as flavorful as I expected. The German chocolate pie didn't SCREAM chocolate to me and there are bits of coconut in it (which I wasn't aware of but hey, happy surprises). My advice? Head straight for the chicken and don't look back. I love these staple places that haven't been gentrified to all hell, and this is coming from someone who lives IN midtown. I'd rather spend 11 bucks for ALL that I got versus some bland, overly dry chicken sandie any day, just saying

I wouldn't call myself a friend chicken connoisseur around Omaha, because the only other place I have a vague recollection of is the surf-side from years back... Anyway, here it goes... Since one of my co-workers raves about this place (using adjectives like "the golden crunch" and "Fruitful Nectar") I was super excited to give it a try and went with the standard. 2 pieces of chicken, fries and a Coke. I have to say he's (and everyone else in town who knows fried chicken) definitely onto something here... it was fantastic. My only regret is that I didn't get to dig in when it was freshly cooked and had to reheat mine in the microwave, which I'm sure took away from some of the crispiness. Even with the microwaving action, the chicken was STILL the crispiest and most flavorful fried chicken I've had in recent memory.

Some of the best fried chicken in Omaha. Time Out Foods is a small restaurant that doesn't look like much from the outside, but has some very good food inside. There is also a drive thru. Order at the counter. Ladies working behind the counter are friendly, but don't mess around and they are moving at a decent clip to get the food out to you in a timely manner. Got the 2 meat combo that comes with French Fries, Roll and Coleslaw. Got a side of baked beans as well. Chicken is delicious, if not just a tiny bit dry. Particularly good is the well seasoned crispy skin. Throw some hot sauce on the skin and call it done. Really tasty. Fries are hot and crisp. Baked Beans have a variety of beans in there with a somewhat sweet flavor. Coleslaw is also tasty. Sides are relatively small. If you want a refill on your drink, it will cost you 25 cents. Desserts are also available. Either a slice of pie or a turnover. I opted for the cherry turnover. Pretty decent, but a little small. Not much room to sit. Only about 4 or 5 booths in the entire place. Definitely a place I will go to again.

Not the fries I'm use too

First time back to Time out..I can definitely see the changes... updated drive thru menu board and speaker... prices went up and it looked like they are sacrificing quality for price... the fries are not the ones I'm use to I'm use to the crinkle cut, the chicken looked like it needed to change the grease...still the best chicken in Omaha..

3 wing combo (chickwn wing, fries, coleslaw, Hawaiian roll & soda)... total $6.68.

Most of the highlight was the various types of burgers and fries they had, so my partner and I got two kinds, and we both enjoyed our respective meals. I had the block burger, which was as good as I imagined it to be, with juicy patty cooked to medium and every ingredient needed to make a good burger. The poutine had a lot of beef gravy and cheese curds, which made the dish a comprehensive experience to consume, rather than just fries. The duck duck goose fries were amazing! The duck confit, cheese curds, mayo, gravy, and gooseberry gastrique combination worked super well on top of the fries, because they altogether basically made it a gourmet dish that I had to eat with a fork. Finally, the sloppy nick was seasoned very well, even if we got the vegan version, which used impossible meat instead of ground beef. It was still really great! Hope everyone who visits Omaha gets to try this spot! Their wall has quite a few articles that recognized them as a locally renowned burger joint, and I could see why. Since they can be busy, I would recommend people getting there earlier to secure a good table spot, if dining in.

But do not let that detour you from trying this gem. I usually like to grab one of my go-to orders, like the poutine burrito or the Croque Garcon Burger, plus whatever the daily special is. Sometimes the specials do not hit for me, but that is not their fault. It is a seat yourself space, but I have never had any issues finding a spot, usually by the time you order, someone has left. Despite the space being crowded whenever I come by, they do a great job of keeping the tables cleared and clean. Service has always been top-notch for me.

The decor and ambiance are truly unmatched. It's such a fun, tropical escape right here in the Midwest. I honestly wish Omaha had more spots like this. I'd love to come back when they have live music and dancing because I can only imagine how fun the energy would be. Most of the table ordered the Despelote to share, and it was perfect for a group. So many meats and sides, and plenty to go around. I ordered the Cuban Sandwich for myself and was really happy with it. The flavors were spot on, and the fries were super crispy and fresh. My husband ordered the Jibarito sandwich with chicken and really enjoyed it. He doesn't usually go for fried plantains, but he was pleasantly surprised by how much he liked them in the sandwich. We'll definitely be back again soon!

The interior is bright, yet welcoming. The music is invigorating and uplifting. The mood was set and I couldn't wait to try out the food. While everything sounded tasty, I went with the tostones with shrimp and a guanabana drink. I arrived during lunch time on a Friday, so my food came out pretty quickly. The tostones were hot and crispy, the shrimp garlicky and juicy. The guanabana drink was sweet and the serving generous. Both definitely hit the spot. The service was great in the beginning, but there was a change in servers during my meal and they appeared to have forgotten about me. Closing out the bill took longer than I expected and felt like I waiting around to leave. Overall, I would consider returning since the food was really good and would recommend others to check this place out.
