    Chicken noodle soup.

Way out on Route 22, is this classic NJ diner, featuring a lot of well polished chrome outside and inside. Interior is spotless and well decorated. Service was friendly and checked in often. We had the homemade onion rings (excellent, battered and with breadcrumbs, perfectly crisp; chicken noodle soup (well seasoned broth, shell noodles); matzo ball soup (very good); incredible eggplant sandwich (crisp eggplant, ample peppers, well cheesed, fresh and crispy toasted hoagie roll). My wife had the meatloaf Parmesan sandwich (also delicious). Fries were crispy. Excellent diner. Looking forward to trying breakfast at our next visit. Lots of parking. Lots of seating inside.

Came here for a quick breakfast... Food was mediocre. Service was okay. Its like a little mom and pop shop diner, nothing special about it.

This is easily one of the last great classic diners around no question. Their breakfast is consistently excellent, and the atmosphere hits that perfect balance, set right on a farm just off Route 22 East. It's a must-try. Beyond breakfast, they also do a fantastic patty melt, French dip, and tuna sandwich everything I've had here has been on point.

This was a great Father's Day brunch with the family! I got steak and eggs, kids got the kids meal, and my wife got some salmon. Service was good, the food took a while so I knew they were making the meal, and not microwaving it. Classic diner feel with locals coming on the regular! I was excited for the hardy meals that we got!

Dunno why the low reviews. My FIL got a burger. He said it was perfect medium. I got a club with bacon. Sourdough was toasted and fresh veggies. The beef barley soups was good flavor but lacked beef. We got chicken tenders and cream of Turkey soup to take home. I'm a fan.

    Cute spot!

Unfortunately, I can't consciously recommend this diner due to my personal experience. I'll start with the good, the location is spacious with ample parking and service is friendly. However, it's a little slow and whilst on a highway not necessarily convenient. In addition, it's looks old and pretty unkept. As for the food, it seems like a hit or miss. My friend ordered a ham and egg cheese sandwich which he claimed was tasty, i however order a plain stack of pancakes and a side of crispy bacon, while the bacon was great, the pancakes tasted like sand. They were pretty inedible, and for a diner this is kind of their staple so I was pretty disappointed. Overall, I won't return or say I can recommend unfortunately.

Ready to go back in time to the 60s? We can't transport you back in time. But the feel and look of the Spinning Wheel will give you a glimpse...without actually thinking that the place was built in the '60s (it is clean and fresh) Food: great diner food! The menu is only 3 pages! It may sound like a lot if you are not familiar with the NJ diner scene or it may sound like a paired-down menu! Service: attentive and quick, I never had to ask for a refill for my coffee Parking: it is on the side of rt 22 in Whitehouse Station, NJ! It has ample parking Value: it is good value for the quality of the food. I like this place and it was great to return to it after many years! You find a lot of locals, especially seniors:) here. It has to be a testimony to their quality. If you are in the neighborhood I would give it a try.

    French onion soup

Wow, did we get served a lot of food! And it was better than average diner food. My husband and I each ordered salads, which came with the soup of the day. I went with tomato, and he ordered French onion for a slight up charge. His salad was the grilled Cajun chicken salad. He really liked the flavoring and the moistness of the chicken. I ordered the tuna salad platter. It came with a healthy scoop of tuna salad, potato salad, and coleslaw with vegetables around the sides and underneath. The tuna was delicious. The coleslaw was creamy and yummy. The potato salad was not what I was used to (no mayonnaise, not German), but I still liked its sweet flavor. Service was super fast. The inside is clean. The bathrooms are tiny!

    Matzo Ball Soup

This diner is a great option for the area. The interior is very retro, which usually means gross and sticky to me, but not for this place. Everything was very clean and bright. There was a mix of travelers and senior locals at the time we visited. Our waitress was very competent and friendly. I had a BLT with a substitution of curly fries. Both were delicious. Surprisingly, my order came with a side of soup! The matzo ball soup was hot and tasty. The only downside to my experience was the banana pancake. It was flavorless and mushy. Not pictured is my husbands corned beef hash and eggs. He always asks for the corned beef hash to be very well done/crispy and it almost never comes out that way. This time, however, Spinning Wheel delivered. We'll remember that next time we're thinking of a place for breakfast.

Service was excellent. Old school diner servers with personality and the ability to have fun with their customers. Being Polish it was a surprise to find potato pancakes, kielbasa, and pierogi on the menu. We shared the potato pancake platter and the 2 eggs platter. Added side of scrapple. Where do I start? The potato pancakes were moist, sweet and full of fresh herbs. Definitely better than I ever made. You can choose sour cream or applesauce. I ordered the eggs over medium and they were cooked perfectly. The only thing is that they come with hash browns and toast. The only substitution for the hash browns was French fries. No fruit or vegetables. The reason we shared was because the egg and potato pancake platter with meat was only offered with bacon or sausage. I wanted scrapple. No complaints on any of the food at the table. It was a random stop but I definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Summertime is a great…read moreseason to explore places far and away especially rest for great food. ‍ As I was searching for farms and produce stands, I noticed this business and since I love pancakes here, there and everywhere, I planned a day away that included farm stands, backroad NJ scenic driving and fruity pancakes. Due to circumstances beyond my control, we arrived at noon on Thursday, breakfast ended at 11am and so we pivoted to lunch items that included a Boars Head cheesesteak, chips and pickle plus a really tasty cheeseburger . As we were leaving, my husband decided on a large chocolate peanut butter milkshake which he deemed awesome. (Thanks Todd for stepping in and making one) We stopped at our pre planned list of farm stands and headed home. Very next day, Friday, up at dawn to get a few chores out of the way so we could head out to Gronsky's for the day #2 breakfast deadline! I prefer sitting at the counter and watching their magician, Tyler, assemble the food for orders, crack open the eggs, drop the pancake batter in the proper corner and keep all meats aligned for the plates. He's the king of that kitchen and each one of those servers is the queen doing the hustle, bustle, slide to the left, back up and move forward like square dancers on the move. From the Taylor ham, provolone and fried egg sandwich on that FRESH Kaiser roll to the omelette with those delicious home fries and my PEACH PANCAKE . . . . all of it was their special take on breakfast served their way. Almost 50 years, folks! Prices are absolutely reasonable for how the food is prepared and presented, quality ingredients cooked according to diners' specifications. What more can you ask for? We'll be back for September POTM!!

It was very busy when we got there, but they had three employees working between the walk-up window and the inside counter, so the line kept moving. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside, which made it easy for our group to find places to sit and enjoy our ice cream. Even with the crowd, the staff did a good job keeping up with the orders and everything moved along efficiently. If you're looking for a classic spot to grab some ice cream on a warm evening, Gronsky's is definitely worth a stop.

There is new ownership recently, and they kept much of the original menu as well as adding some new dishes. Recent experience wasn't great... Pizza has always been very good here but recently they just don't seem to season it at all. Two of us ordered the fish of the day @$39...small piece of cod, and just four pieces of potato ...meaning two small potatoes cut in half...and mine was actually missing the sauce. We had a 7 PM reservation on a Wednesday night, and the place and parking lot were packed! Good sign to start! To begin, I enjoyed the Ruby grapefruit mocktail. Although I'd love trying new and unique cocktails at different establishments, I was in the mood for something light and refreshing and nonalcoholic. This hit just a spot. For food, we started off with the margherita pizza to share. Then, I opted for the crispy, buttermilk chicken sandwich with malt vinegar, potato wedges/fries. It was very delicious. The sandwich was crispy and fresh and the bun looked like it was handcrafted. The malt fries were unique because they had a vinegar powder on them. I've never tasted malt vinegar before, and it was a unique texture. Our waitress was very friendly, but I wish she had been a bit more attentive. She only stopped by to ask us for our drink order, our food order, and to give the check. My friends wanted to order more drinks, but because she did not come around as frequently as we would have liked, they were unable to place another order. I will give her the benefit of the doubt, however, because the restaurant was bustling from start to finish. Overall, very nice setting and meal. Cute decor, including an Anthony Bourdain abstract portrait.
