So I canceled my spectrum service according to them July 11th ( date I turned in my equipment) but yet they charged me for July 4th to August 3rd. I actually cancelled services July 3rd via a phone call. Now mind you I received texts and emails stating I needed to turn in my equipment asap. I just spoke with customer service who stated I was billed a monthly plan but couldn't use it cause I had to turn in my equipment. How does any of this make sense. Now it's time to get rid of their cellular service since they clearly don't care about their customers. HORRIBLE! Seek another provider!! Very POOR communication and the way they treat their customers is very BAD! Requested equipment sent- they sent me equipment belonging to someone else. Requested equipment sent- again, they sent a modem instead of a router, requested a third time to send equipment and the box was not sealed and was open upon arrival. They offered to have it sent in-person, the person wants to tie into my cable and runs tests. Equipment originally delivered by a tech that did NOT need to enter into apartment to do scan, NOW the tech is refusing to provide equipment UNLESS he ties into my cable and runs a scan??? I made it perfectly clear, NO tech is tying into my cable! Was told NO PROBLEM, he will come out and do a swap. The tech arrives with equipment with the NO boxes that hold the mac# and serial #'s to devices. He tells me he needs to go to the office 5 minutes away and he will come back with equipment. NEVER came back, and did NOT call. This company has a very serious communication problem and the customer is the one getting the short end of the stick! I also requested an employee of Spectrum, NOT a sub-contractor, they sent a sub-contractor, who spoke very broken English and was difficult to understand him. 2 weeks into the process of receiving a router, still NO router.If the box is opened prior to receiving, by mail, it means someone more than likely has accessed your Mac/serial #'s compromising your internet security. VERY POOR customer service!!! Save yourself the headache and choose a different provider!!! read more

What an absolute joke!! Went to the store on Miamisburg Centerville Road in Dayton. Fourth in line--there was absolutely no sense of urgency. All I wanted to do was turn in equipment and cancel internet at my previous home for it is selling tomorrow. Waited almost an hour. Staff walked around like zombies and could have cared less about the service they were providing. Asked to speak to a manager and guess what--there was no one in charge. Lots of slow walking and coffee breaks. At one time there were 12 people waiting and one person helping a customer. When I brought up my dissatisfaction, the person who finally waited on me did not care. Gave me a generic number to call to complain. I don't give up that easily and the store manager Darren and I will have a conversation. Interestingly, I cannot call tomorrow to speak to Darren for they will not give out a direct number for "there isn't one." Not only very poor service, but treating customers like they are dense. First of all, you wait about an hour for service. Now for the kicker, after waiting in line for about 45 min, i finally see a service person. I was turning in my modem to cancel the internet service. My wife has ALS and the account is in her name. They would not take the equipment. I have to bring in a power of attorney. read more

i had spectrum for 5 years. prices constantly being raised. Anytime I called I had to threaten to cancel for anything with the price to be done. When I was finally done and cancelled they were magically able to cut my bill in more than half. Now that I have cancelled they are trying to bill be $100 for a cable box (services we haven't had in 5 years). They say there is nothing they can do and cannot remove the charges. Spectrum wireless has been consistently hundreds less than the last provider. The equipment is solid. We use their cellular, home phone and internet. Just upgraded the internet my throughout on average equipment hangs at 360Mbps, and would be faster if we upgraded the pc etc. I'm happy with spectrum services and definitely find them to be worth the cost. read more

It doesn't matter that I have been a loyal client for 30+ years and so much for wanting to keep my business, but beware previous customers of TWC...your rates are going to increase by at least $10 per month for the regular internet service. Don't even bother to try and negotiate. They're too big and really do not value their customers. They'd rather solicit for new clients than keep their existing ones. They have the worst customer service than any other similar business. Even with an appointment, you will sit and wait for over an hour and still not get help. Do your research and go elsewhere. Dump Spectrum ! We just signed up with T-Mobile and saved $30 a month for so much better internet service ! I cannot even tell you how much better the service is ! T-Mobile doesn't have the tiering prices either. Everyone gets the best service with T-Mobile. Spectrum has had monopoly the 14 years we lived in our home but NO more. Had a 50-60 minute wait just to return their equipment and cancel the service. While 3 associates were helping customers 1 was taking names and telling people to take the equipment to the UPS store and return it and another associate was just wandering back and forth between the three watching. Run! I'm sure the staff are friendly. They're always friendly when I've had to go in the store or call a hundred times in the first year we've had Time Warner. This was the worst experience in simply starting a new internet and cable account. You first talk with a sales consultant that offers various packages then you're transferred to someone who "confirms" what you ordered. Now they transfer you to the "installation" department who tells you a completely different amount than previously discussed. I spent more than three hours trying to get this figured out and still had to call back. Went through the same process and again I was "bumped" in the monthly price. The sale department tells you a price that does not include equipment. You will be transferred over and over while being given a different monthly amount each time. Be cautious and know what they told you when you order so you can go over it in detail with the installation department. read more

We had Time Warner which is now Spectrum for Year's. We had the whole house DVR system so just like the name we can watch it from either box either upstairs or downstairs. Lately sound on that recordings is hit-or-miss so you'll be watching a show and the sound goes out completely for a while. So we decided to swap the boxes and get new ones. As stated by everyone there is a 25 to 30 minute wait once you get there. As you enter a person helps get your information and put you in the system to wait. All of which you could do yourself at the computer station that are but whatever. We finally wait our turn he takes our information thoroughly. We get our new boxes get home hook them up. They keep rebooting and rebooting and rebooting and rebooting. So we call we go through four different people each one asking the same questions your account number your address your ZIP code preferred phone number excetera excetera. Long story short they gave us the wrong style box. So we asked the lady on the phone for the number to reach that location as we had no luck finding it online. Keep in mind she's she's a star phone number or address or zip code but she wraps us to one not even in our state. It's a holiday weekend we have a lot to do. I work a double shift tomorrow on the holiday. So it's screwed up are phone in our DVR for the holiday weekend. All very inefficient and aggravating. I will know that everybody we spoke to was polite if they were only confident. read more

Worst wifi provider! Had problems with them from the first bill. When my husband and i first set up for WiFi only service, we made it so we did not have to use any of there equipment snd we signed up for autopay so the Bill would always be paid on time, apparently there system wasn't ready for this because whem the first bill was due the payment was declined, NOT because the money wasn't there but because the system glitched. After the glitch we were not informed right away that the payment did not go though and nothing happened with our service so we thought all was well. 2 weeks later we get pur FIRST amd ONLY paper statement in the mail, telling us that not only our next bill was due but we had to pay the one before (the one we thought was already paid) on top of additonal $100 worth of fees. We call and are on the phone for an hour before we get everything handled. After the first ordeal we decided to pay manually ON TIME! Despite this we still had to calm them every month because there system would have a problem accepting payment and trying to give us fees even though the whole time we paid our bill on time! Our last encounter was the worst, my husband paid $77 for the bill the day it was due and all was well tue Wi-Fi worked that nignt into the next day, by noon the wifi wasn't working. When we called to see what was going they told us that theu disconnected our internet, which was confusing considering we just paid the day before. They proceeded to tell is that our service was disconnected because of a $4.42 fee and in order to get our wifi turned back on we would have to pay an additional $65 on top of the $ 77 they took the day before. They seemed to try to make fees to get more money for bull crap service! They are a greedy waste of money. I would recommend another tv/wifi provider. ANY OTHER PROVIDER!!!! read more

I have set up new replacement boxes for 2 televisions this weekend. The first one took over an hour on the phone and switch off to 4 different persons??!! So inefficient ! Today I am at Dayton mall returning both old box systems. So I am 10th person in line and Have lots of time to observe 2 front door greeters and want to describe this level of inefficiency! 2 greeters that could easily be downsized to 1 greeter if spectrum was efficient! Both workers are idle from my observation approximately 75percent of time. They stand and chat and look out to door etc. One guards the front 2 doors and other guards the sign in slate. Sometimes one leaves station.... So, why not get an automatic set of doors? Why not either relocate slate to sign in or make it portable? That way one of the greeters could go behind the counter and HELP customers!!!!!! read more

I consistently get speeds less than 1/10th what I pay for (5.83 mbps on speed tests). When I contact tech support, I spend at least 15 minutes on hold before I get to anyone, and it takes several conversations and techs before anything is solved. Their online support is just as bad. I was recently in the Time Warner Cable store to return my modem since we opted to buy our own and save some money. When I walked in I thought the store was very nice, clean, and modern. There wasn't a long line, but people already being helped. Not even two minutes after I walked in about five more people walked in and not even a minute after that two more customer service reps came out from the back to help move the line. It was fairly easy to return my equipment. Darrin who helped me doubled checked to see if the person I spoke to one the phone took off the monthly charge and helped me update some of our information. He also was kind enough to tell me he could save me some money and get us faster Internet, but never pushed me into, which I appreciate it. Overall a pleasant and easy visit. read more

Yes, like all offices of cable providers, you can expect to wait about 30 minutes before you can meet with a representative. Granted I was there around lunch time, which is probably their busiest time. But the folks here were thoughtful enough to provide some bottled water while waiting and to periodically check in with folks. On the end, what made this experience ok was the representative with whom I met, Ben, was very helpful, interested in what my needs were, and provided some options without taking the role of a pushy salesperson that I have experienced so many other times at other places. I can't speak to what my experience would have been had I not been waited on my Ben but I hope that the other customer representatives were as helpful and patient. Overall, I left with a far better impression of their customer service than I ever have had regarding previous cable providers with whom I have done business. read more

I tried to get my issue resolved by calling technical support. After being recycled through voice mail prompts for an hour & never reaching an actual person, I went to the store. There are so many people waiting in the store that there aren't enough seats to accommodate them. I have been here about 25 minutes and 2 people have been called to the service desk. Every person who walks in is told there is a "20 minute" wait. After 25 minutes of my waiting, however, there remains 16 customers ahead of me. This is the WORST customer care ever!!!! read more

Horrible company!! My bill has more than doubled in the time I've been a customer. My bill went up $10 just recently, I called to negotiate a new rate, and they told me there were no options. I asked if there were any discounts for new customers, and they said yes. I asked if there was a discount because I was a customer for 15 plus years and they said no. Is it coincidental that rates went up when covid-19 is hitting people so hard, and so many more people are on the internet because they're working from home or need entertainment? I live off of bonita Dr and have horrible service ...... I has great internet for a year or so paying 69.00 a month just internet. And when spectrum bought out time Warner I now cannot even sit and stream a movie without it gibbering every few minutes. I've had a tech out 5 times I was told the last time to take my modem in again and exchange it for the 3 rd time. And that my speed was extremely low. I have complained and complained all the while still paying for something that will not work. And the only solution I'm being offered is to upgrade into a bigger bandwidth package. At 100+dollars a month. For the exact same thing I've had for 65.00 for almost 2 years. Tonwork again. Bit yet they stated that they spectrum have not backed up the speed on previous customers. I mean, honestly, at this point I think we all know TWC...OOPS! I mean "spectrum" is basically a terrible option. To throw my two cents onto the pile though: Signed up because they offer a higher speed than ATT right now. Was repeatedly LIED to by rep who told us that all plans have a land line service added to them at no extra cost and there is no way to have internet without it. We repeatedly told him we did not want phone service and just wanted internet. He said not to worry, that it was included at no charge. Well turns out that's a giant steaming pill of bull @#$%. Got our first bill. No only are they charging us $20 a month for "phone," the price for the internet alone in our "bundle" is MORE then the price for internet alone for new customers advertised on the website!! Complained to their chat support staff: told nothing can be done because now we are "existing" customers and the fair and reasonable prices advertised are only for "new" customers (you know to con them in for the bait and switch). Talked to that guy's manager, basically same story. Talked to THAT guy's manager. He finally created a "ticket" to send to someone who would contact me 'soon'. Lol, 'soon'... after a week of waiting and trying to contact them again I gave up and put in a formal complaint with the BBB. Waiting on that to get them to actually take a moment to glance at the issue. We all know that it's a underhanded company, but this is lower than I expected even from them. So just be aware, if you do go with Spectrum, just assume that every rep is lying to you, get everything in writing and verify what they tell you 3x over, because they just default to lying automatically unless you press them on it. If Spectrum keeps trying to charge me $30 more a month than the service is worth and trying to force feed me lies on top of it I'll dump them for ATT even though it means a lower speed. If you don't download a lot of files or have several users who play competitive online games simultaneously, I'd recommend just going with ATT. You won't notice the speed difference and you won't have to deal with the crap. read more
