Since Time Warner became Spectrum, my "200mbps" internet speed is running at a cool 2.22mbps. 2 out of 200, and they've just raised my bill for no reason. What am I even paying for? Customer service didn't have any real solutions and since Spectrum is a complete monopoly in Manhattan, I'm simply stuck paying almost $150 a month for wifi that can't handle more than one device at a time. No wonder New York is suing Spectrum for falsely advertising their internet speeds. AVOID if you can. read more

The people there were nice enough. It's Spectrum that is ridiculous. I had Time Warner and when my triple play was up I got a bill that was $40 higher. So I went into this location and we figured out that if I get rid of my landline (and was told that all other services minus one or two tv channels would remain the same), then my bill would only go up 7$. So I did it. Now my Internet is constantly disconnecting. So it's not the same service. And with Time Warner I was able to watch shows from my DVR on my second television. When I called to say that now that service wasn't working the gentleman on the phone told me that Spectrum doesn't have that option. I specifically asked about this when changing. The man on the phone said that he is sorry that it wasn't explained properly to me and that if he was the one I talked to then he would have explained it properly. YOU ARE THE SAME COMPANY! This corporation has a monopoly so they are able to charge me for 10 times the stream I am actually getting. Due to channel overcrowding, I cannot even run Netflix on my smart tv, a single device in a one person household. I had better internet from CLEAR! Dealing with this company is like dealing with the mafia. Things go wrong and they just try to get more money out of you but nothing ever gets better. If you are lucky enough not to live in a place where Time Warner Cable is your only possible internet then you would be wise to choose another company. I live in New York New York so you would think I would have other options but apparently I do not in my building. How they achieve this level of a monopoly is beyond all understanding. If you had not guessed by now I absolutely despise with my whole heart Time Warner Cable. I honestly don't think changing their name to Spectrum is going to change the fact that they Channel over crowd so much that I cannot even get Netflix which only requires 1.5 Mbps even though I'm paying for 10. In the last year I have spent days of my life if you add up all of the hours turning my router off and on. Unplugging everything. Waiting for a serviceman. Buying a more expensive plan. I pay a lot for this service which includes phone/internet/cable. I don't use the phone but it came with the plan. This review is mainly about the internet. I get signal drops every signal day both on wiress as well as on the computer plugged directly into the modem. I contact them and they send a new signal and then tell me it is fixed and I will have no future problems. This is all part of their script and its a total lie. Sometimes I lose the signal again 5 minutes after they tell me they have fixed it for good. I have replaced multple modem boxes and even had a repair tech come out once. For the price I am paying it is unacceptable. If I can find a reasonable alternative I will close my account with TWC/Spectrum. Really lousy service and if you can get internet from someone else just do it and avoid this company. read more

ZERO rating for Spectrum but YELP doesn't give option...Spectrum is the best at lying and cheating the customer .. been with them since Time Warner - over 30 years or more ? Last year March 2018 I brought back my boxes as I was moving from Upper East side to Queens.. the store lead specialist Charles Chung told me to stay with Spectrum as I was returning my cable boxes... he guaranteed that my package rate would stay the same for THREE years and it was a special discount for Parker Towers complex. I was hesitant as RCN would give me the same for less. I decided to stay and be loyal to spectrum... big mistake... barely made it to a year and my rates went up twice- once for taxes and they only honored the discount for 1 year NOT 3 years.. for $10 a month Spectrum will be losing me for lying to me and not honoring the rate Charles Chung quoted me a year ago! SCAM ARTIST! BEWARE SCAM ARTIST! I came into this location to switch the internet from my roommates name to my name. After I left my bill was WAY higher than the guy promised me. He legitimately wrote down my FINAL bill and divided it by two to show me how much it would be per person each month AFTER TAXES AND ALL! The bill was a lot higher and the aggressive Salesmen on the phone was loveen at call center in flushing, NY. This is absolutely ridiculous. Wish I could give TWC zero stars. I was a customer of TWC for 8.5 years. I moved earlier this year and switched to Verizon (the Verizon package is 1000 x better than TWC - internet is awesome). I returned all of my TWC equipment to this location. TWC initially claimed I had not returned a modem and charged me $125. I disputed the lost modem, and TWC then......... found the lost modem. However - in the process of resolving this dispute - TWC categorized my account as delinquent and placed the account with a collection agency. I then had 4 -6 x follow-up calls with TWC, and on each call the representatives confirmed the missing modems had been found. The representatives were nice and apologized for the confusion and for the headache this issue was causing. They said I didn't need to do anything and TWC would inform the collection agency that my account was clear. I just got another call from the collection agency again today. I call TWC and they now tell me they want me to prove they have found the missing modem. The representative could see in the notes that TWC has told me several times they have the modem, but they want me to prove to them that they have the modem by producing a return receipt. So basically they have the piece of equipment. They know I cannot prove it. Thus they will continue demanding the $125 and threaten my credit over the point. 1) Do not trust anything TWC says. 2) Get your return receipt and hold onto it for years. 3) Switch to Verizon if you can. Service and the product are significantly better. read more

The WORST service technicians out there with sloppy workmanship skills, I was going from FiOS to Spectrum where their equipment was not connecting properly on the existing wiring which was used by Fios where FiOS equipment requires the highest quality of wring to begin with where the Tech was blaming my wiring where I stopped the technician and said to him I don't think Spectrum is going to work out here where as I had no trouble with my FiOS equipment running on this wiring for the last 8 years so I am going to continue with FIOS and apologized for wasting his time then the tech said "You just did, I am not going to get paid for this now!" with an unprofessional attitude. With that said, the tech left my home in disarray and swiped my FIOS Spliters to where I would had to call Verizon to reinstall my Verizon services if I was not tech savvy! Although Spectrum can run you less than Verizon, However their technology is very outdated by 10 years with big ass equipment and less flexible with limitations than Verizon! It doesn't pay to be a penny wise to be a dollar foolish for this kind of aggravation! A lesson taught is a lesson learned!!! read more

Angel was great in assisting me. Dont know why last reviewer critized him the way he/she did because alot of people that go there are SO rude and emeaning with these guys. The get irate, angey and offendes for the slightest remark. Maybe because they"re all blacks and hispanics!! I went ro change my box. Yes, like all reps, Angel commented as to why customrer service would tell me to bring it back but nothing to get angry abiut. On the contrary he sympathized with me having to go to the store and waiting so long for something he felt a tech could have helped me with. He was helpful and informative and changes my equioment without any hassle. I asked him a how to install it since it was a new box and as the last reviewer, yes he alsontold me to wait a minute sunce he was his job on my acct, but THAT IS NOTHING to get twisted about. I find it stupid for Jamie, the last reviewer, to get upset about when he said that since he is very thorough with his work, from what I see, and simply eanted to finish what he was doing on the acct before answering my question. We are dealing with genuine rocket scientists. Talk about kicking the ball into the opposing team's goal. i got a call from Spectrum Business asking me if i would care to sign up. as it was i had spectrum residential and was not too happy with the service. it tended to get slow at certain times of the day and while it ran great when none of my neighbors were around overloading the "node", it otherwise moved like a slug. no guarantee of speed. but with business class the sales rep assured me, i would get my own dedicated fiber optic line and it would move a lightening speed all for the same price as the residential (ok, maybe $10 more a month). she talked to me for 1/2 hour convincing me i had to switch. finally i said i will do it but they had to wait for me to call back with a day when i can as she had caught be off guard. two weeks go by and i call to get the install done. the rep who answered the phone went through the motions and realized i had residential service with them. she explained to me that they will not install business class in a building that has residential. after all the talking and sales work her colleague did, really? you convinced me i had to have faster speed and when i said yes you balk? since they did such great sales work but could not deliver at the other end, i have called RCN. they are putting in my service tomorrow and spectrum loses a customer. read more

I placed my subscription on hold while I renovated my apartment. The construction ran over and TWC refused to keep it on hold another 60 days and began to bill me again. When I asked them to just bill me for cable box rental they refused and insisted that I turn in my boxes. I explained that the boxes were in storage and I couldn't do that for another 2 months. They refused to just bill me for the box rental. I'm getting billed $182 per month and have no service. These people are the worst. read more

for normally getting such terrible customer service from Time Warner Cable, this place was amazing. It was seriously a haven of friendly, wanting-to-be-there staff. As soon as a I walked in someone came up to greet me, was very friendly, got my name and said someone would be right with me. 10 seconds later someone called my name and I was helped with what I needed which was to upgrade my router/modem. This review is for the Company, not this specific location. One star is too much, if I could I would give 0 stars. On March 8th there was nationwide outage from twc/spectrum. I contacted them twice for updates and help and I was told by both associates that I would receive a call once the outage was over, that never happened! It is now the 20th and my internet is still not working so I contacted twc again. They informed me that the outage was over on the 17th! Now on top of that, I went through all rebooting and restarting options and asked them to resend the signal to my modem. It still won't work and they say I need a tech to come out. If you know anything about this situation you would know that if a tech will come here for something related to a twc issue then there is NO REASON they cannot explain those instructions to me over the phone. Another reason I do not want a tech sent out is because if for some reason they say it was not due to a twc issue I will owe them $40!?!?!?!??!?! My internet was fine until this outage!!!! Nevermind the fact that my monthly fee keeps going up by jumps/leaps. The customer service has SIGNIFICANTLY decreased over the past 6 months - this weekend being the ABSOLUTE WORST. I tried to chat with customer service on Saturday - kept getting a message that no one available available. I opted for an agent to call me back so I wouldn't have to wait. 24hours+ later I am still waiting. Finally today I was able to connect via chat with 3 different agents - they were not able to help explain the charges that increased my account $40/month. Each one has told me I need to speak with an agent on the phone and would have someone call me back. I am still waiting. One chat rep told me to try calling instead to a certain #. That number says it's outside of business hours but the chat reps all tell me it's a manned number. SO WTF? There is a major disconnect. I am to the point that I want to cancel service altogether. read more
