First I want to acknowledge the one server who was working her butt off. She was there by herself, and doing the very best she could. I thought I would make it easy on her and order the special. You would think that would be a safe bet. HUGE mistake. It was a open face meatloaf sandwich with mash potatoes. The two slices of meatloaf were 2" thick and twice the size of the one piece of bread. It was almost frozen in the middle, and looked like they tried to warm it up under a heat lamp because the gravy was a thick mess with a solid film on top. Same with the potatoes. My wife and I were there on a Friday night with only 3 people at the bar and nobody eating. That should have been our first clue as to the quality of the food. Tim's might be good for having some drinks, but as to eating there, that was a mistake. My wife's steak was burned and the server's response was that it was hit and miss - great that she was so concerned. My sandwich was worse than the average 12 year old's attempt - processed turkey, one small slice of tomato and some limp lettuce. Our experience there was just short of insulting. read more

First time here, breakfast was excellent. Service was a little slow, but they were a little busy. My Mom and I both had the Lumber Jack Hobo Hash. The Full and Half portions were both huge. I can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu. read more

Do not listen to the haters on this page, Tim's is great! Everything was delicious, so much so the whole table shared bites just to try as much as possible. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the waffle was delicious but man-o-man was the chicken to die for, skin was crispy-meat was juicy-can't ask much more. read more

NEVER AGAIN. This was the absolute worst service and food experience I have had. We went in for burgers and saw the Prime Rib is a Friday night special. After a day of walking it sounded ideal. We both ordered 12 0z Prime Rib Medium Rare more on the pink side. We specifically stated to the waitress that if there was no medium rare we would just order something else. I guess they thought we were fools willing to accept anything. The food came out relatively fast however both Prime Rib steaks were completely brown all the way through and were only warm to touch. We talked to the waitress and showed her what was wrong and she agreed. Again we stated that if medium rare was not an option then we could order something else. She took our prime ribs and said the manager wanted to see them and that it would be corrected. Less than 10 minutes later another set of Prime Rib steaks identical in cook to the previous 2 from the looks of it and when cutting into it no pink. The waitress apologized and said she would bring us a menu. FROM BAD TO WORSE!!! We ordered burgers and 20 minutes later NO burgers; NO waitress and NO sign of anyone that worked there. Mind you it was 4ish when we arrived. At 545 we had to go to the service station and said we didn't want anything from them. Everyone was standing around as if there was no intention of serving us. Our waitress and the one she was training were standing in front of the service pass and and didn't look surprised we were standing there. 2 people came out from the back (maybe the manager was one) and just looked at us as if we were circus freaks no words from them. The waitress was apologetic--sort of and said they would comp our beverages which we were willing to pay for. I would take McDonalds over this joint.Truly BAD experience. Never tried the food from tacoma, only puyallup, but service here was terrible. we came for breakfast. i arrived a little after 130 and was sat and ready to order by 140. no water was given, a huge group of 12+ people were sat directly behind me, and they were given drinks and orders were taken before anybody has came to talk to me. i notified their waiter that i have now been waiting close to 30 minutes and she told me she would fetch her manager. somebody finally comes to me at about 210 and notify me that i am unable to order breakfast. i end up leaving. read more

I will be back. Everyone was very nice. Cade the bartender was on top of everything. Food came out fast and hot. Drink refills were timely. I've been looking for a place with good potato skins and these were great. The star was the mac and cheese. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the chicken fried steak was a little tough. We found Tim's kitchen by accident. We were looking for the old Harmon. But we found that another restaurant had taken over that address. We decided to give them a try... That was our best decision all day. We found out that this is their 3 location... Don't know about the other locations - but the food was outstanding!!! I had the French dip Philly cheese steak style... The hands down best philly cheese steak sandwich I have EVER had... My wife had the Malibu chicken sandwich... Again an awesome sandwich. I don't usually write reviews unless I am unhappy... So for me to write this is an outstanding restaurant... Harmon had good bar food, Tim's kitchen is even better... My friend and I went to Tim's Kitchen in Tacoma on Labor Day. We got there a bit before 11am. There was only a couple of tables with people. The table was filthy the floor was filthy. The lady brushed of stuff with the menu. It took about 15 min for the waitress to come over we asked for coffee and a mimosa then ordered the food. I asked for 1 piece of French toast but it was $2 extra. I didn't get it. My friend asked for an English muffin it was a $1 extra. He got it. It took a bit but someone came and wiped the table. It was still sticky. It was 15 mins before I went got my mimosa and coffee. My water glass was covered in lipstick. Our food came 35 mins from the time we ordered. The family that was ordering when we were being seated still didn't have there food. There was no jam on the table. I asked for the manager. She explained her problems and excuses. We asked her for jam and didn't get it. She did discount out ticket. With what we experienced in the cleanliness of the restaurant it made us wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen where our food was being prepared. We'll never go back. read more

Ok, After playing 18 holes of golf last Saturday. Tim ( not the owner) and I decided to grab a bite to eat at Tim's Kitchen in Tacoma. I ordered the chicken wings and loaded potato skins. Tim ( not the owner) ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and tots! It took a little while for the food to come out, but DAMN! My chicken wings were " Actually " full size chicken wings!!! And they were piping hot!!! My man Tim( not the owner) chicken sandwich was huge! Sorry Kentucky Fried and Popeyes! Y'all come up short! The food was " Fire"!! Chicken seasoning soulfully! Yep the potatoes skins succulent and hot! I'm telling you no lie. My chicken smelled and looked so good, the table of guys behind me asked, " what did I order?" One of them ordered the same wings I did! When you go to Tim's Kitchen, go with an appetite, or you'll be doggie bagging it home like I did. Great food! Great Host! Down to earth wait staff. Experience it yourself! Came here randomly with my family for a late morning breakfast, and was blown away with the service, food quality, and overall experience. The stacker was delicious, and i got to sample my family's waffles, chicken (amazing), gravy - and the honey butter??? Are you kidding me? Insane! do yourself a favor and disregard the doubters - i appreciate really good food, and this new place has it going on! Outstanding!!! Terrible!! The "fresh" salad bar was Not Fresh! The lettuce was old and wilted, the tomatoes were all bad, the potatoes in the potatoe salad were raw, yuk! Chicken strips were soggy, definitely not crispy, my daughters were totally raw in the middle, the biscuits were raw and not edible, my husband's chili burger wasn't warm, I can't think of one positive thing about the food. Although we have eaten at the Tim's Kitchen in Orting, this was the first time for the one in Tacoma. We were excited to try it. When our party of 3 arrived on a Thursday night around 5:00, we were the only table there. We were seated and given menus and after a minute were asked to order. We said we needed a couple minutes. However, after several minutes, we watched as our server sat at a table with two other employees and apparently lost track of time. She finally noticed we were starting in her direction and came to take our order. I ordered a mixed drink when ordering our meal. Once again our server now sat at the bar having a conversation with another employee. I finally had to get up and walk to the bar to remind her I had ordered a drink. We tried to use both pool tables while waiting for our food but both resulted in balls getting stuck in the table. My food came with a salad from the salad bar. The lettuce was wilted at best and many of the toppings looked very tired. Our food was so so but everything smelled of old grease. Our server did check on us once we were done to see if we needed boxes but not before. Upon handing the check to us, no word of thanks were mentioned. I can count on one hand how many times I have left only 10% on a tab but this was one of those nights. It was quite a disappointment since we don't eat out frequently and had chosen this place after considering several others. I fear if things are always this way, Tim's will not be around for long. read more
