The food here is amazing, I can't spell most of the dishes but the lomo satado is awesome. The staff is very friendly and happy to explain the dishes. If you like empanadas the chicken and the beef are fantastic. This is now a regular place for my wife and I. If I could give more stars I would. I don't understand the positive reviews here.... We tried this place on a Sunday evening and we were the only customers. As soon as I walked in my impression was- this place has a "Mom and pop" kind of a feel so it must be authentic. Absolutely no frills. The tables and chairs were very basic- cafeteria style like in my public high school....30 years ago. I have been to other Peruvian restaurants and the experience here was rather unique. First of all there is this yellow sauce that is saturating your food. The color and consistency of the sauce was reminiscent of what I used to find in my children's diapers- when they had diarrhea that is- yes, it looked gross. We entered the ladies restroom to wash our hands. The stench was gross too and the garbage was overflowing. I think the building itself is so old that the smell of old pipes, walls and mold was present in the closed bathroom. I judge a restaurant's kitchen cleanliness to how clean the bathroom is. At this point I was ready to leave but we already placed our order. We were reeled into this place because of a living social deal.... at the end of the mediocre meal and $80 check- the coupon was not even honored. I felt like a fool with $80 less in my possession. Thankfully nobody got sick after eating here. Eat at your own risk! You have been warned about the yellow sauce!!!! This place is waaayyyyyyy overpriced for what you get. They may do this to help offset the cost of the coupons that they do honor- which unfortunately was not mine. read more

Just order thru Uber Eats, this is a tough one because I really like the food. Best if you go eat there but since we live sort a far from the restaurants we've ordered it a few times thru home delivery service. The problem is they don't read notes or always pack the condiments i.e. Their Green Sauce/Red chili sauces. This is a buzz kill because without them the meal isn't the same. I don't think I'll ever order for home delivery which means I won't be having it as frequent. Too bad they can't get their act together. read more

Service is slow (especially when you order a sandwich apparently) and today, at 2pm, they ran out of chicken for their chicken entrees (remember, small menu). After living in Lima, Peru for almost 3 years I always get the craving for some good Peruvian food. Tineo didn't disappoint except for when I ordered pollo ala brasa and it wasn't ready. My friends love this place so much that they call it "the" peruvian restaurant, and go there frequently to celebrate or end a week on a positive note. They told me that the saltado is so good that they didn't even feel tempted to try anything else, and I was naturally a little skeptical. But I got the lomo saltado and immediately understood. It was absolutely delicious, and the sauce they use is incomparable to anything else I have tried. Unlike other places, it didn't feel heavy or unhealthy as I ate it- in fact, despite the huge portion size, I managed to eat the whole thing and still have room for dessert. The fried plantains were everything I needed them to be, and the pastries they offer at the counter were a delightful snack to take home and enjoy throughout the week. The dessert also didn't taste overly heavy or sugary, just tasty. The restaurant is also clearly family owned, and the service is phenomenal. I had been wanting to try this place and finally yesterday we did. So glad we tried it. Everything we tried was delicious. The waiter who helped us was really nice, friendly and helpful. We started with the beef empanadas, it was tasty. The pork tamal was just ok, though it was moist but need more filling. Me and my son shared Lomo saltado. My son is very picky with his food. He might only be 11 but has a sophisticated palate. He loves the dish that when we got home he asked me to look up how to make it. My husband had aji de gallina. He too, loved what he got. I ordered a side of fried yucca, crispy outside and soft in the inside. We asked what dessert he recommend, He suggested the flaky pastry which was just ok for us. Out of curiosity, I grabbed a sweet custard buns before we left. Had that for midnight snack with my son while watching movie. The bread was good, my son likes the sweet cream. I was not too crazy about the cream. Too milky for my taste. Overall, it was good. We had fun trying new places, different cuisine. Definitely in our fave places to go. The food was OK, but not as good as other reviews led us to believe. The beef and chicken empanadas were a little dry, making them hard to eat. They both had hard boiled eggs inside, which was a surprise. The Lomo saltado that everyone recommends was very chewy and a little tough to eat. The tamales were good, definitely different than Mexican style, but weirdly contained hard boiled eggs too. The sweet potatoes and fried plantains were the best things we had. Very friendly hole in the wall restaurant. Place was very casual and had that mom and pop feel. After we were seated the waiter asked if it was our first visit and we said yes. He gave us the menus and said he'd be right back. When he returned, he brought us samples of the Chicha Morada (purple corn drink) and Maracuya (passion fruit drink). We've actually had Peruvian food before so we were familiar with these drinks but didn't want to insult him so we thanked him and proceeded to "try" them. We wanted an empanada but weren't sure which filling we should get so he recommended the beef. When it came out we were hesitant because it had a dusting of powdered sugar on top and a wedge of lime....hmmm...don't recall empanadas being served with powdered sugar. Although we haven't had Peruvian food for quite some time so maybe we just forgot? He must of noticed our hesitation because he said not to worry about the sugar and after we cut it in half to squeeze some lime juice over the filling. It was surprisingly yummy and the sugar was barely noticeable. It tasted like a combination of Banh Bao and Pate Chaud...two Vietnamese food items that I adore with savory meat fillings. We also ordered two Lomo Saltados which is a staple for us at Peruvian places. Its carbs on carbs with sliced steak, sauteed onions and tomatoes served over french fries with a side of rice. As if there weren't enough carbs we also ordered Yucca Fries. Everything was delish! Service was a bit slow because there were only two servers for the whole place but wasn't too bad. Luckily we weren't in a rush. Waiter also gave us free cookies when he handed us the check. It was so thoughtful and the spiced cookies with dulce de leche were yummy. Not the most amazingly Peruvian food we've ever had but certainly a solid place with great customer appreciation. read more

Having lived in South Florida 13 years before I came here, I had alot of good Latin and especially Peruvian restaurants to go to. I love Lomo Saltado so I decided I looked for Peruvian here and found this place. It is a whole un the wall place but it is pleasant. I ordered the lomo saltado and liked it. I can't say that it is the best I've ever has but it was good and reasonably priced. The plate could have been better balanced with a little more beef than fries but the taste was very good The rest of the menu looks good and inexpensive. A really good place for lunch or dinner if you want good food with no frills. read more

I had ordered a dish that had a thinly sliced piece of meat that was tough and over seasoned, a fried egg on some garlic rice, fried plantains, a fried egg and a hotdog. A coworker treated me here as a "thank you" for helping her at work. This was my first time trying Peruvian food. I was impressed! I ordered the sauteed chicken with peppers and onions over fries.....YES....FRIES! And then it came with a side of rice....YES...RICE! I am not use to 2 carbs on one plate...but when in Rome, right?? I took an out of town friend of mine to this restaurant in hopes the food would be comparable to some amazing Peruvian food I ate out in L.A. last year. This place certainly held it's own. We ordered chicken empanadas, beef empanadas, arroz chaufa, and a jar of the passion fruit/purple corn juice. Wow, we were stuffed when we left. It was such good food. I haven't found the time to go back yet, but I promise I will be going back sooner, rather than later. They are extremely friendly and accommodating. Service was great all the way round. The place was clean and smelled amazing. One of the guys was even super flirty, which I appreciate! lol My mouth is watering while writing this review.
