Best Tacos in North Dallas. 10/10 highly recommend. Make sure you go in the shop on the right. Shop on the left is a separate store.

Betty waited on our table. She had such good energy and was super knowledgeable about the menu. I'd like to come back and request her specifically. My husband had the smoked shrimp and grits and I had the smoked fried chicken with lemon mashed potatoes and street corn. Both were excellent! I'm not in this area of Dallas often, but I will make it a point to come back. I forgot to mention my cocktail! I had the Honey Bourbon Limoncello and boy was it good. I'm a lightweight so I couldn't try any of the other cocktails but their cocktails all look delicious!

The highlight of the night was easily our server, truly one of the best I've ever had. Friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. If the review were based on service alone, it would be five stars. We started with the chicken nachos, which were fresh and actually pretty good. For entrees, we ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Unfortunately, the chicken fried steak was very bland and tasted like it was missing seasoning altogether. The sides were okay, but nothing memorable. We also tried the rib plate with corn and mashed potatoes. Again, it was edible, but the flavors just didn't pop, everything felt like it needed more seasoning or a stronger profile to stand out. The staff was great across the board, but the food just didn't match the level of service. Not the worst experience, but definitely not the best food wise.

The atmosphere is exactly what you hope for in a hidden gem: an intimate, six-table setting with thoughtful, beautiful décor that makes the entire experience feel intentional from start to finish. We chose the Dinner for Two, and it was the perfect way to experience the menu. My husband and I started with a generously portioned lump crab cake, followed by a perfectly charred Caesar salad. Then came the main event, a 24oz Delmonico steak served alongside charred asparagus, broccolini, potatoes, and a squash and zucchini medley. Every single element was exceptional. Truly. Lane has created something special here. Elevated, fine-dining quality food in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can unwind, enjoy incredible flavors, and savor meaningful time with great company. If you haven't been yet, consider this your sign. You will want to experience it for yourself.

BAR-Ranch Steak Company has been one of my favorite meals of the year!…read more Downtown Plano is a quick drive away from my office at our companies HQ, and one day a group of four of us picked it out for a little lunch celebration we were having. It was my first trip to downtown Plano which is a nice quaint strip of bars, restaurants, and shops that reminded me of any of the small one/two stop light towns around my home of NC, even though you're really surrounded by metro Dallas highways and city. The atmosphere, the food, the service, was perfection. I'll do my best to describe, but if I was creating a restaurant, I'd tell you to go here, and that is what I want. The restaurant itself is very nice, certainly upscale enough for a super nice date night, but also casual enough at lunch time for a business casual outfit. The area itself is relatively small and intimate, I'm going to guess 10 or less tables, and a spot for a few people at a small bar. Right beside the bar is the grill where you can see, hear, and smell the food being cooked! The owner was our waiter, and just like the rest, service was plenty formal yet also laid back. He did everything how you'd expect in a fine dining restaurant, but also was comfortable in a baseball cap and laid back fine with having a conversation. He was happy to tell us about the restaurant itself, the interior which he built out himself, and was enthusiastic about what he was serving and told us everything about the meat and sides. It was great seeing someone so proud and excited to tell his costumers about every aspect of it. He alone would make me want to be a regular visitor. But then there is the food! Perfection! All four of us ordered the Wagyu NY Strip, so he just told us he would serve it on a board with plenty of sides to fill us up. We didn't even have to tell him how we wanted the steak cooked, he said everything was cooked to 135 and it came out absolutely perfectly! Quality tasty meat, true wood flavor, it was what I normally have to cook myself at home to get! The sides were great as well, charred broccoli (which I'm a sucker for, marbles potatoes, fries, all wonderful! The menu is not huge, but I think that's perfect. Do what you do well and you don't need a multi page menu full of random dishes. BAR-Ranch knows what they are and they excel at it! It's not cheap, but personally I'd rather have one meal of exceptional quality over multiple cheaper meals that leave me feeling "meh that was fine". Personally I'll be back and can't wait for another opportunity to try it!

I love the layout of the inside. It's open concept so you can see the chef cooking the meat in the kitchen from the main dining room area. There's also a neat, well designed hand washing station in the hallway that leads to the restroom. Overall ambiance is good with sufficient seating, though on the smaller side. What's different about this restaurant is the variety of meat dishes they offer. I've eaten at plenty of Brazilian restaurants in the DFW metroplex, but never have I ever seen chicken hearts, brisket, beef ribs, ribeye, shrimp and so much more in the rotation. For the dinner to have been $55 with tax (& me ordering an espresso shot) for the high quality cuts I am super impressed and certainly recommend others to dine here vs the other more mainstream establishments that are always advertised. I also really enjoyed their salad/hot bar...though not the biggest, there was a nice selection of sides to choose from. All in all I really enjoyed the service & food here and definitely see myself returning soon.

We're regulars of EG Steak up in Plano/Frisco, and I found that a much more ideal experience. PROS: - Brazilian Lemonade was very good, I was left wanting for more - Shrimp was available as an option, which I find unique for a Brazilian steakhouse - I enjoyed the picanha and the garlic steak CONS: - The atmosphere of the place is simply less formal than desired for what you're paying. It feels a bit like your local Italian joint. Tables are close together, full light blasting, cheap tablecloths and incorrect labels on the stuff at the buffet - Most of the meat we got came to us lukewarm. I only got one piece of meat that was hot - Our service wasn't very great. We kept getting repeats of the same lower quality meats we didn't enjoy, kept getting repeatedly passed up by meats we did want despite our green table indicators and trying to get the guys' attention, and couldn't really get anyone to come to our table very often. - Some of the meats just weren't good. The chicken, for example, was salty and inedible. I also found the texture of the sirloin very, very tough. The lamb was relatively flavorless. - I don't know how much of this I can attribute to the restaurant themselves, but on a Friday night, this place was littered with kids and large families that weren't under control. Kids running around, listening to YouTube videos on full volume, etc literally right next to our table. - My partner noted that it was my birthday, having seen some of the reviews about this place making it a special occasion. It wasn't acknowledged, not even a "happy birthday" from any of the staff. Overall, for just $15 more per person and a half hour drive north, just go to EG by Stonebriar. Definitely a more elevated experience for the price point.

The mushroom is a good texture, not mushy or firm. The Cesar salad is very good, right amount of dressing, crispy romaine & it's not fishy at all. The croutons aren't house made but it added that necessary crunch. The cheeseburger was cooked rare even though medium was requested. The manager Kylee and server Anthony went above & beyond to make it right. It seriously was not a big deal to us but it was a huge deal to them. As we walked away my husband and I commented on how the service there was better than anywhere else we've experienced. Customer service & quality is a priority to them and it shows. We arrived at 2:00 PM, weren't seated until 2:37 PM, and then waited an unacceptable amount of time for our food--only for it to finally show up at 3:45 PM. Nearly two hours wasted. When the food finally arrived, it wasn't even warm. After all that waiting, that's what we got. Completely unacceptable. The manager's response was a weak apology and vouchers for a free appetizer "next time," as if we would ever come back after this disaster. We left the food untouched and walked out. The ambience was not not joyful or enjoyable. This place showed zero respect for our time or money. We will never return, and I would absolutely NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. Total failure from start to finish.
