I called during a holiday (4th of July) and he said it was closed and asked if I could come in tomorrow but unfortunately, I'll be working all week. He told me he'll get back to me in an hour and said he'll come to the shop to get my tinted windows done today for me. Don't go to this place. The first thing this guy will ask you is to pay cash. Because he knows that if you pay with a credit card, and are not happy. You'll be able to dispute the charge and get your money back, because he certainly won't. Dropped off a brand new Porsche 911 for a complete wrap and his poor planning and preparation caused him to wrap, re-wrap the car over and over again. His inability to prep a car for this kind of wrap makes him unsuitable for these kinds of jobs. His shop is dirty, has trash, wrappers, dirt etc flying all around his shop. For a job like this you have to be extremely clean because the slightest dust will contaminate the surface of windows and paint protection film. I will post pictures for you guys to see. The photos are of a brand new, 2022 911 which was delivered October 1st 2021 and on October 4, the wrap was installed. You be the judge. This is not the condition of the paint, this is poor surface preparation after removing and re-installing the film II posted a pic of the conversation where he refuses to respond. I've now filed a dispute with my credit card, next will be a complaint via the BBB and then small claims. I gave him the opportunity to make this right despite his poor workmanship. WARNING*** PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE*** YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AND BOY DID I PAY.. so I booked for tint and clear bra thinking i was getting a good deal as he was just starting to use Xpel as well and I was going to be paying half of what other reputable companies were charging. For all windows, windshield, and clear bra 725$ great deal.... I THINK NOT. First of all Yancey is a very shady guy and you'll see from my review and pictures what I mean... I had my car for less than 36hours when I brought it in. Had driven it home washed waxed claybarred and brought it there...... So let's just get started. First of all he was late and had to bring me back on multiple occasions because he lied saying he had the products to complete the job but didn't (I work a lot so I don't have time to drive to SJ every week...) he said he had the windshield tint and clear bra multiple times. A good business would not schedule an appointment until they KNEW for a fact they could perform the service. One look at the clear bra laid out and I knew it was WRONG. Not my car front end. And I sent the model name to him a few times.... So first of all he does the tint and SCRATCHES MY TRUNK LID. To the point of me needing to fix this myself. And not only doesn't take accountability but ARGUES with me as if I don't know for certain- well guess what I spent a whole day clay barring and waxing before I brought it in so I know every INCH of that car. And it was right at the rear windshield so YES YANCEY- that was you. Also put a HUGE SCRATCH in my front passenger WINDOW GLASS. Which he of course wasn't accountable for and said - "sometimes that's how it comes from the factory" He left bubbles in and said he'd fix it... he didn't. But this is well beyond that and the fact that the tint doesn't fit the windows was cut too small with multiple edges showing and rips in the windshield tint. The clear bra should cover the entire bumper. That's what I paid for. (And said he was going to try and "work something out with me" as if I owed him more $?!?) The clear bra did not extend to the edges of the car. There are seams where typically there should not be- in the front near the fog lights. (Pictures pretty clear)The clear bra does not cover the parts of the bumper even close to entirely that it should have. (The bottom portion is literally 3" exposed from the lower grill cutout)... and There are bubbles and dirt trapped and parts that look as if there is damage to the paint underneath and upon inspection when I dropped it off to him we determined there were NO defects in the paint. The times he told me to come in he was not ready for me and did not finish in near the time he said he would as he was doing my car "between" other appts. He had me pay IN ADVANCE my own stupid fault. But let me just say don't let him swindle you into this as well. He's a liar and a theif. Complete Fraud. I asked for a refund multiple times. He promised to redo the tint and fix what he messed up, whilst still not being accountable- and he only made it worse. I knew I shouldn't have gone back. So he finally said he would refund me but via square it would take 10 days unless I wanted a money order in a 3-4 days or I could call my bank.... well I told him I chose to call my bank. Which he agreed to for my refund. HE AGREED TO A REFUND. THEN DISPUTED IT WITH MY BANK saying it's a valid charge sending a screenshot of my signature on square-?!? SO NOW THAT IVE Spent hours removing the clear bra and have an appointment for a tint removal and redo on Saturday I HAVE TO GET A LETTER OF SECOND OPINION SO I CAN RE DISPUTE THE CHARGES because he is that big of a liar and a theif. I visited TINT Works today to replace my rear window tint because it created bubbles. I haven't been at TINT Works since 2015 when I had all six of my windows tinted for my car. I met Yancey Silvas and he look at the bubbles in the tint of the rear window and told me he will replace the rear window tint today with no cost because he honored the warranty of the tint. I came back later today and the rear window tint was completed and looked new. I asked Yancey again if there was any cost of replacing the rear tint window and told me there is no cost at all. I would definitely recommend TINT Works if you need to get your vehicle tinted. read more

PLEASE Avoid this place if you don't want to spend more money for paint correction and broken parts. Was introduced by a friend to get my car tinted and wrapped here. Yancy seems like a nice at first, but don't let that tricked you. He did not care about customer's car, he took 2 days to wrap my roof and side mirror. On the first day, he broke the side mirror signal turning led and tried to stall time to fix it by asking for me to leave the car over night which i did. At this point, I still didn't know the mirror led was broken and he promised me the car will be done by the next day. On the next day, I went to pick up the car at 6:30PM, and I was not happy how everything turned out. The roof was 2 pieces instead of 1, there are dust/bubbles trapped in side and a lot of bad cuts. Same for the mirrors too. When I got Home I take a closer look on the overall of the car and noticed a lot of scratches that the camera couldn't get it. However, the most scratched up place that I was able to take the pictures is the windows black pillars. There are probably more scratches that I still have not located yet. Yance told me to bring my cAr there, so he can fix the mirror And the wraps, but with all the damages that you have done to a 50k plus car, I'm not going to trust you again touching my car. Also,the Tint was poor as well, I noticed dusts are trapped inside about the edge of the tinting film. I demand a refund, so I can buy parts to fix the mirror and take the car to a bodyshop for a paint correction. After removing the tail light smoke tint, I see more more scratches and cutlines. P.S AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTs. UPDATE: More damage is found, the Shark Fin antenna is loose and has a cap. I will have to take it to a shop and get it fixed to avoid water leak. read more

I take my brand new car and guess what? I see scratches on my dash. I called the owner and he denied it right away saying they using nothing but baby shampoo and soft materials so there is no way my dash could have been scratched. To add insult to injury, I had to come back the second day because Yancy ran out of film so I had to come back the next day. What a waste of my time and two uber rides. Well guess what? I found a razor blade in the car.... I knew it was a red flag when he quoted me $750 for 3M crystalline over the phone, however when he ran my credit card he changed it to $950, which I had to correct him. Since he only did 3 Windows, we agreed on paying about half which was $400 dollars. **UPDATE** After writing this review on Yelp. Yancy agreed to give me a refund as soon as I can come back in to remove the film. He continues to make excuses and says that he was no where near that area. He was working on the windshield and the driver window, I'm not sure how that argument is valid. He then says that maybe I got speakers installed and they were the speaker guy did it. Well the have been in the possession of the car for the two days I owned it and the speaker system is stock. I never even considered an aftermarket sound system! He then continues to argue with me and said my Dealer did it when I took it in for service; what service? I had the car for two days!! After all this argument which he continues to say it was someone else! I'm sorry Yancy, I had the car for two days. It was brand new as far as I'm concerned since it was in my possession and sitting in the driveway until I could get it tinted. He then has his worker remove the film. He asks the worker to compare the razor tip in the car and see if it lined up with the razor blade they had in the shop. Guess what? It did! And he continues to argue with me. I thought he didn't use anything but baby shampoo and soft materials? *Sarcasm* I spoke to his worker, turns out he's still in school and a family friend. The kid isn't even out of high school. So don't believe him when he says he has 20 years of experience, as he may not be the one doing the job. Looking back, I missed several red flags. He does not do an inspection and does not have anything to sign when you drop off the car. I knew something was wrong when I didn't have to sign off on anything when I dropped off the car. Now it becomes a he says she said issue. What kind of business does this? He does this so if he damages the car, you can't blame him. Lesson learn, make sure anyone that touches your car have an inspection sheet. Yancy is quick to take your money and say anything you want to hear to get it. It has been almost 3 weeks and I have not seen a refund. I had to file a fraud claim with my credit card company. Good luck on dealing with this company. read more

Beware! Brought in my brand new Tesla M3 for clear bra wrap, ceramic coating and window tinting. Yancey tells my friend (also wants to wrap his M3) and I that he has years of experience and that we will be satisfied with the results. When Yancey asked to pay in full before completion of the job, I was horrified to see paint scratches and chips, dent, uncovered/uneven ppf borders, unwrapped edges, air bubbles in the tint and in the ppf, misplaced emblem. Yancey tried to place the blame initially on imperfections in the ppf. After I asked him to remove the ppf so I can take it in for repairs, it became clear that the scratch on the hood was from him removing the emblem and the one on the bumper from him cutting on my car. I would give him the benefit of the doubt if he had told me about the damages and we could work something out. But the fact that he wrapped over, tried to conceal the damage and later told me to fix it with touch up paint puts his integrity in doubt. My brand new M3 is now damaged, without a full wrap, without ceramic coating, needing retinting and rewrapping. I told my friend to stay away from Yancey, and you should too. read more

When I went to Yancy with my new model 3 I wanted all my windows done. He asked me to pay before he even did the job and I did which I shouldn't have because he didn't even include the sunroof or the front windshield in the price. I ended up paying 200 for the windshield but didn't notice the sunroof wasn't done since the Tesla sunroof comes a little tinted. after I paid 700 dollars for my windows and now if I want my sunroof done he wants to charge me more. I called him yesterday to tell him I paid for all my windows to be done and not to leave one out. I came here to get my tint done a few weeks ago, I was recommended by a coworker. Yancey did a good job on my windows, although there was some dust found on my rear window film. My major gripe is that i found two nicks on the upholstery of my rear passenger door. Yancey didn't let me know about the cuts and it wasn't until I waited for the windows to dry and had time to clean out my car did I notice them. And while they cuts in my upholstery aren't huge, I'm not excited to seen if they'll start ripping in the future. read more

What a shame. I really wanted to look past the low reviews and give them a shot... I get on the Living Social deal with the 20% and scored the tint for $140. Called up after and talked with the guy. I already knew it was for only the rear windows and was waiting for his up sell to do the two fronts. He said at first $275. I said thanks let me think about it. 5 minutes later he calls back and said that if I agree he will knock off $25 and do all 7 windows on 2015 Golf 4 door for $250. I said let me see about returning my Living Social deal. I process the refund and call him back and ask a few questions 1. My car actually has 9 windows and the cad program actually does a cut out for 9 windows. But the 2 front corners look to be a pain, so fine I can live with those not tinted. 2. I specially ask all 7 windows $250? Yes. 3. What grades can i choose from? Him: Any. 5% all the way to clear. He then told me the fronts are legally only up to 70% in Cali, but can do whatever I want. Me: So $250 and I choose my grades? Him: Yeah. Great, make an appointment for Friday at 9.30am. Get a call later saying they have an open spot in the afternoon. Couldn't do it, but am available tomorrow. Great 1pm on Wednesday. I get there, and then goes over the tint.. says that for my deal I can only pick 3 shades: 5%, 15%, or 50%. What is funny is that he can't even legally offer those tints for the front since Cali is 70% max front driver/passenger. Wouldn't honor what he specially said after I specifically asked. He starts saying you can get any grade you want, you just have to pay for it. Yeah, well that's not what you said on the phone. I am a pretty easy going guy. I like to give people the befit of the doubt. If he was honest on the phone, I would have most likely paid extra. Hell, I already agreed to and extra $110 for the front windows. And if the job was good, would have been back with my 911 AND my S4. With no coupon and paid full price. If he stood by his word. But, I deplore bait and switch tactics and business people who do not honor their word. That is just immoral and just downright deceptive. So, I went down the road and made an appointment with Mr. Tint and am paying more just for the better service. Which is what matters to me most. He can respond all he wants, but he knows he agreed to $250 for 7 windows, grade of my choice. Plane. Simple. Facts. Beware. Bought the Living Social promotion (5 windows, $175) for $159 on a timed offer. Immediately called the owner (Yancey) to schedule. He told me I should have called him directly to get a better deal. (Huh?) He told me I'd have to pay an additional $100-$150 for the front driver and passenger windows. Basically, he wants the promotion and marketing Living Social offers, it was Living Socials email that brought me to him, but he then weasels up the price once you attempt to schedule. This place will try to rip you off with their groupon and living social deal. I've been asking about their pricing for a long time and it's always been 350 for all 7 Windows. Recently when I purchased the groupon deal, 5 Windows for 175 (350 value), hoping I'd get the back 5 done and pay the difference for the front 2. When I asked they wanted me to pay and additional 150 for the front if I used the groupon but without it he would do all 2 for 275 with the recent promotion, or 250 if I came in that same day. I asked if I could use the groupon for face value towards my purchase and was told I couldn't. Then I said if call him back once I return the groupon because my money would go further without it he became upset and stated he didn't want to work on my car. According to the deal on groupon the certificate holds a 350 value for 175-lie. Not to mention they try to charge you extra for the 3m brand when the deal states that's what you're paying for. Moral of the story... DO NOT GO THROUGH GROUPON OR LIVING SOCIAL. Just negotiate a deal directly with them. read more

Don't even bother, it'd be easier to deal with a legitimate place than this business. They might have a groupon or living social deal, but its not worth the hassle because it is a hassle getting them to get it done. I saw that they had a groupon for 5 windows and decided to try it out. After I purchased the groupon, I immediately called to make an appointment to get my windows done ASAP. Their phone sucks and you can barely hear them. The guy said that the date I asked for was completely booked and then on sundays they were closed. I had mentioned the groupon and the guy on the phone already sounded like it was a hassle trying my windows done. Called again and of course they were busy. I decided to call one last time before returning my groupon. I called from a work phone and of course you can barely hear anything through their muffled phone. It was like speaking to a broken car radio with only a few words coming out each sentence. I asked the guy about making an appointment on a saturday about 2 weeks ahead and then their was silence for about a minute on the phone. I got my Nissan Leaf done yesterday. Great service. I dropped it in the AM and it was ready by PM. I had earlier bought LivingSocial 50% off deal, but it turned out that that deal is only for 5 windows and that includes two small tiny slots of glass in the back of rear passenger windows. Do yourself a favor and call around for quotes on tinting - although this shop gets the job done, you're paying a premium for effectively no reason and the owners service isn't all that great. They do about the same job you would get anywhere else. Only catch is they charge you more than you would elsewhere for the same service and materials (3M). They try to play it up by saying they'll buff out scratches and wash your car - ironically when I got my car back the minor scratches they pointed out on the walk through were still there and the car wasn't even dried when they handed it back to me, so effectively my car is dirtier a week later than when I handed it off to them. Minor annoyances, sure, but when you're paying more for this "service" it's definitely a big knock. Another thing - tried to ask about the yelp deal (50 for 75), but the guy had no idea what I was talking about.. The workers seem nice enough, not sure about the owner since he picked up a phone call halfway through talking to me and walked off. read more

Scheduling is a nightmare, every time I called (save for the one time I called and asked to schedule BEFORE mentioning that I have a coupon.. ahem..) he was not at his desk, didn't have a calendar, was in the car, etc. Poor execution on face-to-face customer service. Very poor. After 5 calls, I finally got a 2:30 spot at the owner's behest, arrived at 2:35 -- after leaving work early to meet the shop's requirement of dropping my car off for a 2 hour service early enough so they, the workers can leave on time -- expected to pick up my car by 4:45-5pm at the latest, annnnnnd it wasn't done until 8pm or so. We had to leave SJ at 5:30 so this really screwed us up, and we picked it up from the guys running the 76 station at 11:30 pm. Worksmanship: was alright, a few bubbles perfectly placed in the area of the rear window that the rearview mirror focuses on that have since seemed to dissipate. *This is why I have given the place three stars, the work was actually alright. * Yancey, I'm not sure of you are aware, but coupons/Groupons and what have you, are essentially going to be free advertising for you -- you might be doing discounted work for people with a coupon, but the majority of couponers are 100% going to leave a review, meaning a more biz for you. Tips: This place needs a front desk person who can actually make appointments and keep them, and a bigger shop. TL;DR: Mildly frustrating to schedule an appointment and actually have it kept, the time took 3x as long to have it finished, and the owner seems to be very aloof when scheduling a couponed appointment. Took our car 2017 BMW 320 and BMW X1 for a full tint job. We had them install Rayno S9 all around. Yancey and Jose provided great information on our film options and guided us in the right direction for UV protection, heat reduction and a clean overall look. Yancey and Jose worked on our cars and they did an excellent job. Not only were they very friendly from start to finish, but they did a very clean and efficient job on our cars. They are very meticulous with their work and made sure the car was wiped down both inside and out upon completion. This is the second times that we brought in for tint in the past 4 years.
