Absolutely the best breakfast place EVER!!! Large portions (I had the turkey sausage and eggs) Tip #1: Get the carrot muffin instead of toast - no extra cost and they are excellent (we bought two to go for a quick breakfast during the week @ $1.50 each) the house Salsa is hot, very spicy and great on the eggs. The Potatoes and bell peppers and onion were fresh, and served piping hot! Our server, John checked on us often and gave us some great advice since this was our first time. Over-all a solid 5 experience. Two improvements: bathroom update, and filtered water for the coffee. The coffee is kind of French/Dark roast - I would suggest Kirkland Colombian whole bean, fresh ground for every pot!!! read more

I have been here a couple times now, but not as much as I would like due to the hours they are open. It each time I have been the food is great. One suggestions is to be sure to check out the specialty board there's some good options there and don't wait because they may not be there next time you go back. This last time I had Caramel Coconut French Toast the bread was melt in you mouth soft. If you like their sister restaurant Nat's in the Valley then you need to come here. I went there yesterday for breakfast came in place wasn't packed so I figured I'd have a quick turnaround for my 30 minute lunch I asked for the easiest item that they could possibly make which was two eggs over medium hashbrowns crispy white toast besides the fact that I had to wait 25 minutes for one plate of food come out the fact that the server never came over and checked on me or to explain why when the restaurant wasn't busy I was waiting 25 minutes for my food when I finally could catch his attention because he was busy filling little catch-up cupsHe's like oh what's wrong I'm like dude I've got a 30 minute lunch and you've taken 25 minutes of it if that foods not on this table right now I'm leaving so I don't know what's yours guidelines for time service is but between the servers dropping the ball on double checking the food that came out cold and uncooked correctly or the fact that I waited 25 minutes for two eggs hashbrowns and toast and it wasn't even toast you put it on the freaking griddle so it was like cardboard when it came to my table seriously I won't be back and I don't recommend anybody else go there read more

This was our first time at Tio's Cafe and it was great! Excellent customer service. Eliseo was very nice and made sure everything was okay and if we needed anything. The breakfast burrito is ginormous! Steak & eggs and the omelette were all cooked perfectly. Pancakes are really, really good. And the hamburger was very flavorful and will definitely order it again. Their portions are large and prices are good. We look forward to returning to Tio's Cafe for breakfast and lunch! read more

This place is amazing! From the outside it looks like it will be a small location but once you are in the inside it is a lot bigger than expected. It is similar to Nats Cafe so you can get things from there menu as well. The crepes were really good as it came with some really fresh fruit, almost felt as they had just picked the fruit up from the vines/trees. Although our waitress got our orders wrong, I still would come. The vegetable soup was good although some vegetables felt hard. The steak and eggs were on point as were the home fries! read more

From the butter to the eggs and just making sure it doesn't break because then you have to start over. From the first to the last bite yummm please don't ever change that recipe I'm surprised not everyone orders them. Love Tio's!! This is a sibling restaurant to another one of my go to favorites Nats cafe west. The breakfast is everything. My go to is the Guadalajara Skillet with no bell peppers, eggs over medium. No one does it better than them, the chorizo is super fresh and flavorful. *** they make their own strawberry jam!!! Order and English muffin toasted, and top it with the jam. It's delightful. I have heard the abc omelet is great as well. If you like old school diner breakfast food you won't be disappointed. Best part it isn't crazy greasy. read more

Quick shoutout for Tio's: it's the best breakfast in Simi Valley, bar none. Tio's has the exact same owner/menu as Nat's West (https://www.yelp.com/biz/nats-west-cafe-canoga-park), which is tried and true at 500 reviews and 4 stars. This place is just newer. But it means I don't have to drive all the way out to Canoga Park for the best soy chorizo, the best toast (for reals), the best waffles, the best breakfast burritos, the best... well, everything... anymore. Technically, they even deliver, so I suppose I don't even have to leave my HOUSE anymore. But it's nice to come out and say hello to Eva and Charlie. =) I would disregard any low ratings here as anomalies or cranky diners. This place has earned its high reviews by having outstanding food and friendly service. My wife and I like to eat vegetarian when we can, and Tio's has the only soy breakfast chorizo anywhere I can find (save Nat's, of course!). But if you want real bacon and sausage, they're excellent at that, too. And they have tater tots as a breakfast option! Bam! We're almost always there for brunch, but their lunches are no joke, either. We know much of the wait staff by name, and they're always friendly and helpful. Being from a town that doesn't have very many breakfast places that aren't chains, I was excited to discover this place. The first time I went, it was amazing! Service was great and staff was super friendly. Food was yummy, portions were great, and there were also homemade jams and salsa. Having such a great experience the first time, I raved about it to my family and decided to take my parents for breakfast there Sunday morning. We walked in, were not greeted and just awkwardly stood by the door for ten minutes. They were super understaffed and I was very disappointed, so we just walked out. I will be back, but I suggest hiring more staff and going at a time where it isn't going to be so busy. read more
