BEWARE. This place has great food and absolutely awful service. EVERYTHING is extra. Salsa, chips, etc. They make good food and have zero concern for the customer's dining experience. They close the dining area at 8:30 and accept only to go orders after that. But they will not give you a to go cup for water. You can beg and plead, but they don't care. Burrito cost $5.50 & unfortunately, I was disappointed again. The quality of their food has gone way down. The cheese is FAKE and so greasy. It doesn't even melt properly. I had to scoop an entire mountain of cheese out of my burrito because of the amount of grease and oil. 1st impressions matter! This was our 1st time visiting Tio's Mexican Grill. The early impression was mixed, some of the girls (waitresses) were walking around looking totally unhappy to be there. As we were getting ready to order and standing at the counter, the girl at the register was completely ignoring us and focusing on another customer who was complaining about the wait. Then as we were ordering, she answers the phone and starts taking another order! Rude! The dining room was nice and clean. The wait time for the food wasn't much. The food itself was good, good enough to make us want to come back again. Then, as we were getting ready to leave, we asked for a cup to go so that we could take what was left of the michelada we ordered. They said they couldn't give us a cup for the michelada because "it was illegal". I've been to many restaurants, asked for many micheladas and have never had a single one tell me "it's illegal to take it". That soured the whole experience for us. It's likely that we don't return just because the service was mediocre. If we do return, we'll just take the food to go. read more

First off you have to order at the counter, second they didn't have chilaquiles because it wasn't breakfast time. Ok understandable. Asked for coffee, no coffee...when cashier saw my disappointment for trying to order another thing that they not have. She said she'd make some. Coffee was so weak. I ordered nachos, the meat was really good but the beans taste like can beans. Also ordered guacamole but had to order chips separately because they are not included with your $10.00 guacamole. Called early during the day and made reservation for 20 for my husbands birthday, we show up and they only reserved for 10. The 1 waiter was pretty much by himself to wait the tables; take everyone's orders, make all drinks get all the food (he got helped from a different person later) the bartender wasn't much help to waiter at all! When we would go to bar and ask for a drink she would say.. "order with your waiter" and would be dismissive. We ended up leaving, going to 7-Eleven buying beer and going home with our group of 20. Sad part is that this is 2nd time this has happened. The band was awesome! Jonathan the waiter was amazing with all that he did or could do. The place is great, usually great food, great entertainment... I honestly don't think Tios is prepared to reach at full capacity, I don't think it is a good place to host a dinner party for more than 6 people. They would ask us what we wanted. We would tell them. They would say ok. Then disappear. Sometimes wash dishes. Sometimes takes other orders, which I understand. , then come back and ask us if we needed another drink. The same girl would come back and ask me two times. Like we never ordered. At this time it slowed down and I didn't understand it. It was the weirdest thing. I was a bartender for many years. That bar is losing money with girls like that behind the bar. So much revenue can be made. The bar was a mess. Dirty plates and cups everywhere. Everything was stacking up and they were oblivious. Even during the slowest times. I'm not giving up on Tios.
