We were referred to them by a neighbor, whose mother had extensive plumbing and repair work done by them and had great results. We received the same treatment. First of all, we had our main water line that runs to the city water burst in our yard. We found out this was something that others in our neighborhood and elsewhere in Mint Hill have had to deal with at one time or another since water usage was changed from one source to another, currently Charlotte's city water. Anyhow, we discovered we paid half the price as a neighbor once did a couple years ago for the exact same job (but probably us having the better customer service, which seems to be priority number one for this team.) Then, we discovered our dishwasher had been leaking and ruined our kitchen floors, cabinetry, baseboards, and some wainscoting. As anyone knows, from working with insurance companies, you get the minimum amount from them for reparations. Well, these guys were able to work with this amount, plus a minimal amount from our pockets, to renovate our kitchen to a whole other level. All in all, we had major work done for little, done professionally and beautifully. For example, we once had a tacky linoleaum floor, to which was replaced with matching laminate flooring, new cabinets and hardware, new countertops where layered countertops had been thrown down in a shotty way, new wainscoting on the walls, new baseboards and trim, and paint. In addition, they were able to replace our stainless steel dishwasher with a new one, tear down an ugly wall partition from our dining room to living room, and put in a new stainless steel sink, replacing the old iron one. These guys are efficient, professional, and definitely put customer service first. They do high quality work and make sure they are thorough from beginning to end. They not only take care of the plumbing end, but also do carpentry work and home renovation. You only have to call them to take care of it all and they do a superb job on both ends. It was a simple situation. These guys jacked my bill up to over $5000, which forced me to go through homeowner's insurance. I got it brought down to just over $4000 after complaining. ...also note, they will not give an estimate in advance. They never gave me one throughout the time they were here and they never gave one to my friend in Providence Downs neighborhood. They just wouldn't give her a dollar figure and, in her case, she wasn't dealing with an active leak, so she chose to not work with Sunshine and instead chose a company that would give her an estimate. After what happened with me, it's obvious that they avoid giving a dollar amount so that they can start the work and then inflate the cost once they're already working. ...lastly, they charge by the hour - something I hadn't realized as I would see them arrive and park at my house and take forever to get out of their truck. They even went to my neighbor's house to inspect something for her when she saw their truck and came over to ask them about something at her house. Yes, I'd thought it was odd that every time they came they just sat in their truck for so long but it never occurred to me that they were killing time and that I was paying for it.

After my friend's recommendation, I called Blue Fox Roofing to inquire about an estimate for a complete roof replacement. During our initial conversation, I informed him that the company that was already working on other projects on my property was fully expected to handle the roofing as well. When I called, he assured me that he could do a better job and even offered to include some extras if I chose his company. I mentioned the other company and that my insurance would cover the new roof. I provided him with the insurance company's price for all roofing-related work. He was fine with this and expressed his willingness to complete the job immediately. Since he was a professional roofer, he assured me that the job would be done correctly. I provided him with all the details that the insurance company had given me, and he reiterated that he was the right person for the job. However, during our conversation with Jay, my wife signed a contract with the other company without knowing that I was seeking this alternative bid. Consequently, I found myself under contract with the other company. Jay informed me that I had three days to cancel that contract, and if I did, he could start the job immediately. After having several conversations with my wife, I decided to cancel the first contract. The next morning, I called Jay and left a message stating that the previous contract had been canceled and that we were ready to proceed with his company. I asked him to let me know what steps we needed to take to set the job start date. I did not hear from Jay for over six hours when I called him again and explained that I was ready to move forward with his company. To my surprise, he responded that there was no reason to return my first call because the job did not pay enough for him to be interested in it. He even suggested that if I could convince the insurance company to increase its payment, he would call me back. I was shocked and felt betrayed. Now, without a roofer, I had burned the first bridge and foolishly believed in his lies and deceitfulness. Today, I am without a roof or roofer, but I am determined to find a solution.
