I first went to Tip Top Nails in December to finally give my nails some love after neglecting them for some time. Mary took care of my pedi while Michelle did my nails. They were very caring and gentle. They also did a fabulous job with my mani and pedi. The gel mani/pedi lasted until I returned to get a new mani done since my nails were growing pretty fast and I needed a new set of gel mani. There was initially a bit of confusion because I told them that I had made a reservation and told them my name -- which is the same name as one of the women who works there, so they thought I made a reservation with her...then we straightened out the confusion and they realized that I wanted to just get a pedicure with anyone. It was a bit strange because I was there with my partner, and we would have liked to sit side by side in the pedicure chairs, but they had us sitting a few chairs apart...It seemed like we could have sat next to each other, so we ended up talking to each other over the people who ended up sitting between us. They did try to push their more expensive service on us -- I just wanted a basic pedi + callous removal, but they very strongly suggested that I get their deluxe package. It was reasonably priced, so I capitulated. They were friendly, although it was a bit difficult for me to communicate with them. I think that they have a bunch of regulars who know the staff well. This is my second time, first time I went there to get a full set, she charged me 52$ plus tip, and the second time I went to get a refilled, she said it's will be from 35 to 40 dollars. , the do not tell you the price they just start working on your nails, and she knew I had French tip design on my nails from before, so after she started working on my nails , she is like for French tip is another $7 dollar. And look how ugly her French tip is ... the corners are no filled, the shapes are uneven, she did an ugly job of refill on my nails, I highly recommend somewhere else. I want to leave a better review because the ladies were sweet but overall I won't be coming here again . They took me as a walk in without appointment which was nice. I got a pedicure $25 and gel manicure $35 for a total of $60 before tip. I tipped $8. And a $1 fee to use a card. $69 total Manicure did not include a massage. She just rubbed oils through briefly and that was it. Nails looked good though and she gave me what I asked for. Pedicure started with her putting my feet in completely cold water. Then she hurt me and I had to pull my foot away in pain . Instead of cutting the cuticle she was pulling it up my nail. Horrible ! Massage was below average. Overall nails came out nice. The lady who did my fill however is rude grabbing and jerking my hand, tossed a pillow on top of me before putting the gel lamp on top... just a mess. I'm only giving this place 2 stars because the lady I had, I believe her name was Michelle, didn't know how to do hologram effect on a nail. She redid it on my one index finger about 6 times and when the other lady came and tried it it was still not coming out good. And the nails' shape got all messed up from the multiple times of her retrying it. I had to go back in after they were done with me and get those two nails redone because I wasn't pleased with them at all and now I'm going back again but to a different spot to get another nail fixed because it is cricked and I told Michelle to fix it once when she put the nail on originally since I didn't like that it was going off to the side, so yeah. I recently came across this Nail salon and based off my first two experiences I would like to leave a 5 star review! My nail tech was Helen, the first time I went she did a beautiful set with sparkles and hand drawn snowflakes, she also added a nail with the "sweater design" and I loved it. That set last about 3 weeks :). Recently I just got a new set which I absolutely love! I love how Helen hand draws her designs and is friendly with her clients. Although Tom did a good job on my nails, during the process he cut my cuticles and made them bleed. Once and twice I forgive, third times thats it. I had to add one more bad review to this nail salon. And Helen, besides her attitude that she gave me because I said wrong name of "almond shape" when she did my nails, she did horrible wax job on my upper lip. She didn't even bother once to check if my upper lip was clean and yup, I got home and checked, looked nothing had been done. The ladies who worked on me Michelle (manicurist), and Diane (pedicurist) were very nice to me, but I didn't like when they spoke in their language to each other in front of me then looked at me and smiled. I didn't take much offense, but let's face it, that's rude to do that, and it's unprofessional. So let me just sum it up: PROS: Fast neat work. Friendly attitudes. Great price! $20 for a Mani & Pedi. CONS: Dim lighting. Not really clean. Uses the same nail file on others (ask for a new one)...even thought you shouldn't have to ask that's common sense for hygienic reasons. Not a big polish selection. Gnats flying around. The front door says PULL when you are about to exit, but you actually have to PUSH. She a sweet lady but today she did a cheap job on my nails...it's definitely not what I wanted and she had the nerves to charge me 49 dollars?!! Seriously... A hidden gem! I've tried several local nail salons and they all seem over priced and my gel manicures don't last long. I stumbled upon this shop after another salon gave me a 30 minute wait time. I'm so happy I found it. Clean, quiet and efficient! The salon was extremely clean with comfortable pedicure chairs. While I got my pedicure done, someone worked on my gel manicure to cut down my time having to be in the salon. I was thankful for that but still very relaxed while being pampered. The salon was quiet. I went on a Wednesday (my preferred day for nails) in attempts of avoiding a crowd or a wait. I walked in and received service right away. No wait and the technicians took their time. I've had my gel manicure for just over a week now. No chipping or cracking! My toes (regular polish) are staying beautiful as well.
