My first visit to Tiptons Tavern, just over the River in Phillipsburg, NJ. The parking lot was packed, as well as the restaurant. We opted to take a table outside on their lawn, which was a nice space. The picnic tables cut me a little short and weren't very comfortable -- but that's typically my problem. Our server was very welcoming and genuine. Our group was seven, and she offered to split the checks. I asked for the hottest wings available, as did one of my associates. The wing sauce was unremarkable. It was very thin on heat & thin on flavor. It was quite sweet in my opinion. Mike Osuch said it best, "BBQ sauce has more heat than this." The cook on the wing itself was quite remarkable, however. They were crispy and just the way I like them. The bleu cheese was a level above standard, with plenty of crumbled bleu in the dressing. If they could get a signature hot sauce, these wings could possibly be destination wings. I love a good tavern/ bar pie. They offer a 12" thin crust pie, with a homemade sauce. You already know I am ordering this, well done... and what a let down. The crust was unremarkably pedestrian. The sauce was flavorless, and duly unimpressive. Don Pepino in the yellow can would have been a tremendous upgrade. The cheese blend was applied generously, but was weaker than Eric Bischoff's character rating in WWE 2K and in ring talent. The highlight that was reported to me, by one of my buddies, said the herb roasted prime rib was outstanding and also the Bavarian Pretzel. The pretzel was enormous! Overall it was average for me, nothing impressive. It's a very nice space outside. Oddly cash bar outside, but they accept cards inside. If you're gonna enjoy the outside, bring cash. I did observe the staff all had iPads, to take orders. #rushieeats

Went here for brunch. Drinks were good. If you want a higher end Bloody Mary, order the Tipton's Bloody Mary. Service was fast. I had the hash brown combo and my husband had steak and eggs. Everything was cooked perfectly. The rest of the menu looks great and we will definitely be back again.

Went to Tiptons with a group of friends for dinner. It's in a beautiful old historic building which had a great atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly. She explained the specials of the day and took our drink order. She brought our drinks quickly and they were quite tasty. Then we gave our food order. I ordered the beef tips with broccoli and French fries, which also came with a side salad. The salad was fresh with lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots. My beef tips were a little tough but I did love the fresh cut fries. I'd like to return for more drinks and some wings and other apps.

Had a nice lunch at Tipton's. Very cool venue in an old historic building where you walk across a cute creek to enter. Different rooms and a nice big bar with outside seating available. I got the Brussel sprouts with onion and teriyaki sauce. It was very tasty. The Tuscany chicken sandwich was very good. Chicken was tender and marinated. The roll was fresh. The garlic aoli had nice flavor to it. Bartender was super nice. Locally owned. Check it out

Decent place to catch some games & enjoy some food. Great football menu. We liked the sampler app platter - great way to taste several things. The spinach artichoke dip is delish! We really liked the bourbon pours too! Guess it was obvious we were foodies/Yelpers as the chef came out & gave us a sampling of the specials - very good! We were kind of full after the app platter so we shared a cheeseburger which was very good but the fries were lackluster. The interior is just OK, kind of dark, not too great. Definitely will go back again!

Doritos salad!. Just throw Doritos on a salad. No spin, no originality... just open a bag of Doritos and dump it on a salad!

Awful, miserable, worst experience in 47 years on Earth, should get shut down. Not just about the long and disproportionately extensive wait once we sat down... There was no host at the door when we arrived... No plates for the appetizers... The food itself is gross at best and nobody should ever eat such things... oil, greasy, fat, artery-clogging, disgusting... Waitress got the appetizers wrong... brought a pretzel instead of the potato skins we ordered... Don't do it... go on to another option. This place deserves to get sued. If I don't end up hospitalized! Look at the photos... Looks like a baked potato? Nope... it's the fish and chips!!! 85% artery-clogging fried greasy oil, 15% some sort of fish and maybe potatoes somewhere deep inside. My mother-in-law ordered a burger... ordered it medium well. Arrived medium rare. And the wait... unbearable.

Can't beat the outside atmosphere here a stream, farm in the distance and nice bar. Service was quick and kind. Food was good I will ask to not have the steak topper of aoli and bread crumbs next time. Goat cheese croquettes were good rosemary was a little strong inside them.

Beautiful sign

The service was extremely slow and the food was alright, nothing to go crazy over. They definitely need to hire more help.

The chicken wings had a good crisp, the side salad I asked for was fresh, the cheese steak roll was pillowy soft and was nicely cheesy, and most importantly, the gentleman behind the bar who took our order was a fantastically nice guy The cons. The garlic parm sauce on the wings were a bit lacking and the amount of meat on the cheese steak was only half enough to really fill that long roll. And the most irksome thing was the 2,23 % "technology fee". No offense but WTH is that?????? If it was to use the credit card, it wasn't explained at all. Look, if you like a funky bar with good food and you are in the area, I would say check it out once in your life and form your opinion. But, for me, I just don't know how often

The Warrenside Tavern has been open since 1924, which makes it (at least during this writing) one hundred years old and in that century, it is interesting how Stewartsville, New Jersey changed, as well as how much the world changed. In fact, 1924 was the year that J. Edgar Hoover was appointed the first director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (better known as the FBI) and 1924 also marked the first year that the first Olympic Winter Games was held in France. The world was still recovering World War I and World War II was years away. Anyway, the Warrenside Tavern has a great ambiance and the staff is friendly and professional. One thing that i will say is that in a world where change is normal, the Warrenside Tavern brings back a lot of nostalgia. Plus, while the menu doesn't veer too far from the expected, it is still enjoyable.
