It took just under TWO hours to get one tire. I had an appointment. They also did an inspection. At the end they wanted to charge me $53 for putting on my new tire and road hazard protection on the new tire. They said "the tire is free but not the installation and balancing." What good would a tire do without it put on? Should I have taken it home and made a swing out of it? I'm never going back to this location. SLOW and there's always some computer issue.

Today not only did Tire Broker fix the tire they found the tool by taking the time to look in the trunk they bought one for me so I never have to worry again Tire Brokers took great care of me today and I would definitely recommend them!

I had gotten tires from McMahon's tires on 9/10/21. They offer free rotation as a "loss leader" to…read moreentice you to buy tires. And I would take the vehicle (2016 GMC Acadia Denali) every 8K miles. I got the tires rotated on 9/24/24 and the salesman Jackson Boyce informed me that the lug nut GMC used were cheaper/shorter lug nuts with a tall crimp on beauty cap. He said that the caps on these nuts had leaked and swollen with corrosion and needed to be replaced. I am a engineer and it made sense so I had them replace all of them. It cost $125 to change out all cheaper capped lugs for 20 solid lugs. I had the tires rotated on 6/24/25 and the Madeline Miller informed me that one of the batteries in the pressure sensors had failed, and the other batteries were close to failing, So once again I agreed that it was better to change all of the TPMS sensors out when the rotated the tires. On 9/16/25, I changed out the front brakes and noticed two things. The lugs were torqued to 200+ Foot pounds. The max for most lugs is 120. It took a T bar wrench and a 4ft piece of pipe to get the lugs off. I also noticed that the front lugs had anti-seize compound compound inside the lugs. I use anti-seize compound on lugs whenever I change brakes, and I did so the last time I changed the front brakes. You can tell because when you apply anti-seize inside the lugs, any extra deposits as a white ring where the stud stops inside. And that was what I saw. I pulled a lug from the back wheels and sure enough, there was the usually ring of anti-seize compound I put there the last time I changed rear brakes. Problem: If McMahon changed the all the lug nuts a year earlier...why was there anti-seize compound in all the lug nuts. Brad Neal said McMahon didn't use seize compound. Either the new lug nuts scrapped the compound off the studs and made the ring in all of the lugs. The problem is...I checked, this doesn't happen. I tested one lug I cleaned and there was no ring. This would indicate that they never changed my lugs to begin with. Also, from the pictures show that the lugs were incredibly stained and had marks that indicated they had been taken off multiple times. Brad Neal showed me the lugs they use. Behind the counter there were at least 4 big bins with what I roughly calculated contained 500 lug nuts when full. Why do they need this many lugs? How often do they have to changed out lugs for the same reasons they explained for my vehicle? They charged me $6 a lug which they probably cost them less that $1 each. Which means I was looking at least $4000 in potential profit for replacing perfectly good capped nuts...or even just replacing the lugs anyway for no reason. I started looking at the bins and examining the various new lugs. Well, they were solid, but they were also cheap nickle coated lugs - that might actually stain after a year like Brad suggested. I usually walk softly and carry a big stick. I have a background in engineering and material science and chemistry. I have 31 US patents and retired at 45. Brad finally figured some of this out from the comments I made before, and when I examined the lugs they use, he then became very nervous and said I would have to get back from behind the counter because customers are not allowed there - yet he was the one who invited me back to see the lugs he was holding. When we returned to his station he looked at all the past service dates and indicated that it was over a year that the lugs were changed and he couldn't do anything with work done that long ago. I also told him something that I still can't figure out. After they changed out all the lug nuts, I noticed in my garage that 4 lugs on each wheel were shiny on top, and 1 top was dull looking. I didn't think much about it at the time because I trusted them - my mistake. I am wondering now if I should have marked my tires going in to make sure they even rotated my tires correctly in the past. I looked on the internet for situations common to mine and reddit was full of the same situation where sales men made high pressure pitches to customers to change their lugs. Were they in the same boat as I? Point of fact, this type of scam is subject to treble damages in court and is probably practiced by more shops than not.

My wife and I were coming into Fort Wayne from Angola on our way home to Texas, and just as we…read morejumped on to Interstate 65 on the north side of Fort Wayne, we realized that our vehicle was shuddering pretty bad. Just then, the Check Engine light came on and it was blinking, which means BAD! We took nearest exit ramp and limped off the interstate onto Illinois Road parking ourselves in F&M Bank parking lot (Shout out to the nice lady that came over to ask if she could help us!!). On Google Maps, we saw that an AutoZone was just across the interstate (1235 Magnavox Way). We called them up for advice, and after telling them of our predicament, the nice man on the other end of the phone told us that for our year/make/model, shuddering at acceleration could really only be one thing, a cylinder misfire, probably as a result of a bad ignition coil and/or spark plugs. He told us we could limp on over to the AutoZone, and they'd run an OBDII Scan on it to be sure, but he was 99% positive it wasn't nearly as bad as we thought. Upon arrival, they scanned the car and found that it was indeed a cylinder misfire. Being from far away, we asked where would be the best shop to take it to and they steered us toward the Belle Tire shop just across the street (7370 Illinois Rd). As out-of-towners, we would never have even tried that location, because we thought it was only a tire shop. Ends up they have a full service mechanic shop there as well! The gentlemen there at AutoZone were super helpful and even called up Belle Tire shop to make sure they could help us and get us back on the road quick. The Belle Tire folks told us that they were ready for us, so we fired that shaky engine back up and jiggled our way across the street. Those folks got us done quick! They had our vehicle in a bay in 20 minutes, then had it diagnosed, repaired, and back on the road within 2 hours. We broke down and parked at the bank at almost exactly 7 am. We drove out of the Belle Tire shop at almost exactly 10 am. From breakdown to road worthy in 3 hours. The Good Lord was watching out for us, making sure that ignition coil got us into the right place at the right time. Fort Wayne, from the F&M Bank lady to the guys at AutoZone to the crew at Belle Tire, you got a great bunch of people there!! Once you emerge on the building you have to by pass all the open bays to get to the shore front. Once this day there were four desk people working. All were professional in fees and conduct. The were eager to help. I listened to many stories on why a car had problems and what solutions they offered. All were done with respect and non pressure. There were about 10 tech jams working today. Plenty help help to process scheduled appointments and walk ins. Today in choose to make an appointment on line. It was easy to do. They seemed prepared to start my work by time the appointment time arrived. My day was costly than I planned. I feel like they were being honest about my issues. The cost seemed a lot but probably fair. The work took over 3.5 hours. On the down side...I noticed the all important sign going into the shop that required people to wear safety glasses. 9 of 12 people didn't wear safety glasses including 4 management/desk types.

I called several local mechanics, tire companies, family And friends and all of them said no or they were working. My last call to McMahons just goes to show me that they are still decent human beings in this world. By the time I called I was sobbing and weather or not the man who answered felt pitty for me he asked back in the shop of a truck would be willing to go to my location which was close to their shop by the grace of god they said yes. Normally McMahons only does site visit for semi trucks so I felt blessed. They showed up quick, with smiles on Their faces and so friendly and caring. Rex was one and the other Justin. Young fellows with hearts of GOLD! They drove up made sure they and my car were safe since we were in a busy area and worked quickly knowing exactly what to do. In no time at all they had my doughnut tire on and I was in the road. Well worth the money I paid. I would recommend McMahons in a heartbeat. And if you can ask for Rex and Justin! They were amazing. I scheduled a pickup (which they do for the business I'm employed under) for Monday at 9am- I checked with my concierge at 3pm that day and the porter had failed to pickup my car (day one missed). I called over to them and they'd informed me they had me down for a drop off (which I've literally never done in 10 years), whatever- I told them my car would be in the parking lot for pickup Tuesday at 9am. I get a notification on Tuesday at 12:41pm that the car had been picked up. I receive no verbal update until about 3pm when I'm told the car will be repaired and returned to me by end of business day. I got a second call about 30 minutes later informing me that was incorrect, and NOTHING had been performed on the car- they'd instead be returning it to the lot with NO SERVICE provided, but they need my car for a third day. Fine. My car is waiting in the lot at 7:30 Wednesday am and I CALL THEM specifically to inform the car is there, and I'm anticipating a pickup from them at 9am (to avoid a similar debacle to the previous day)- My concierge team calls me at 10:40 to let me know they just picked the car up. I was contacted today at 2pm for payment, no apologies until I addressed my concerns head on- to which I was met with a "I didn't want to tell you this, but we're super short staffed- I don't want to feed you excuses" blah blah blah. Chapin and Team- Customers DON'T CARE how busy you are. They care about how YOU MAKE THEM FEEL. And when you make me feel like I'm not a priority- I'm going to seek that feeling out elsewhere. All of this wait for A PAIR OF HEADLIGHTS and A SINGLE TIRE for a MOPAR/Domestic vehicle with a VERY common tire size no less.
