So, little bit of a story. My wife, Zoe, traveled to Idaho from Colorado in a hurry (family reasons) and noticed something wrong with the brakes. She sent me a pic and I noticed the pads/caliper was tearing into the rotor. I told her to get it checked out and replaced before the long trip back. She took the truck to this place. They changed the pads and rotors and sent her on her way. After she returned to Colorado, I checked out the truck at her request. She could smell burning something. I took the truck to a Goodyear shop here and they said one of the pads were put on incorrectly. The new shop took care of the problem in a day and everything worked out. I didn't have to pay any extra money. The bad: This shop incorrectly installed brake pads, I'm assuming because they were rushing. My wife drove a thousand additional miles with brakes that could have potentially failed. The good: The shop was open on a Sunday. This helped out Zoe more than I can explain here. They spent time checking the caliper for any kind of failure instead of just changing pads and sending her off. Once the issue was diagnosed by the second shop, the first shop did own up to the fault and agreed to pay for the fixes. The owner of the shop called me personally to apologize and let me know he was going to pay to fix the brakes. Conclusion: Mistakes happen. I work in aviation and I expect better from companies that people trust. I've worked on my own vehicles for years and could have done all this work myself for much less. However, as Zoe was far away and alone, she needed to rely on a professional. So, even though a mistake was made, the shop owner accepted responsibility and ensured the truck was fixed by another shop. I would recommend this shop because they will stand by their work, good or bad. read more

I have never experienced the levels of disgruntled unprofessionalism, gaslighting, and general disdain for the customer as I have at this shop. I took my Infiniti M45 in for an alignment and was told it needed upper and lower tie rods. I usually do not let others work on my car, but I decided to take a chance as they offered to redo the alignment for free once the work was done. I was also told I'd get a 15% discount on this order. The day comes around when I take the car in to have the job performed. The receipt was extremely vague and the 15% discount I was promised was not on there, but I was told the job was more difficult than expected, and they claimed to add some other discount on there, so I paid it and went on with my day. 2 weeks later, I was doing an oil change on my car when I took a look at the boots for the new tie rods. They were covered in tape and some sort of grease. This didn't sit right with me, why would I replace some parts and then botch a fix for the boot to cover said brand new parts? And on top of this, absolutely none of this was communicated to me. I called them on the way home and asked what happened, the employee was confrontational and basically told me "there's no liquid in a tie rod, it can't possibly be related." I told him the boot has obviously been tampered with in some way, and I want them to look at it. After bringing my car down yet again and waiting about 90 minutes, they called me to tell me the steering rack had a small leak, which was causing the boot to be wet. I was aware of the steering rack leak and knew it was minor, so I asked why there was tape and grease on the boot. Eventually the manager told me they had cut my OEM boots to replace the tie rods, and simply taped them back together instead of replacing them. He told me there were no boots in stock, which is why they didn't replace them. He also made sure to tell me he didn't charge me for boots. My concern is not a word of this was communicated to me. And why would I want a botched boot that's supposed to be protecting my new parts? They offered to put new boots on for me for only the cost of parts, and said it would be $70 per boot. They're $40 a pop straight from Infiniti, so I have no idea where the hell they're getting that price. I told them I would consider my options. Today, when I called, I got who I believe was the main store manager and he was extremely rude and confrontational. I asked if I could provide my parts and they install them (even though I shouldn't have to pay for something THEY CUT OPEN), and he laughed at me and accused me of trying to get free parts and labor out of them for nothing. This is post being offered the exact same deal the previous week, so it caught me off guard how hostile he was about it. He also told me this is a normal practice, resealing the original boot. I have never ever heard of this being the case. Every time I speak to the store, I am told different information. So now I'm left with two options, pay $140 to have this store replace something that they sliced open on my car (and are worth $90 straight from the dealer, mind you), or do it myself. Completely unacceptable, I wonder if they would've done the same on their personal vehicle. The most frustrating part of this to me is that I never even would have known if I didn't do work on my own car. Any normal person would have just had boots that are not up to standard, which will cause a premature failure of the parts I paid to replace. TLDR: Had tie rod ends replaced, the shop sliced the boots open and "repaired" them with tape without communicating any part of this to me, put Chinese trash parts on, and endangered my life by incorrectly attaching steering components. Do not take your car here. Edit: So, after taking my car to a good shop to get my car fixed correctly, I learned Tire Choice not only put Chinese shit parts on my car, they didn't put in the cotter pins. So my steering could've disintegrated at any time. Fuck you Tire Choice, for endangering my wife and I's life with your lazy incompetence. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Me and my boyfriend drove over to this location from emmett to get his tire patched. Everything was fine at first until we didn't get a call or text to come pick it back up. We got to this location 25 minutes before closing!! They closed apparently! now he is stuck with no tire or car to get to work tomorrow. This place is a joke and anyone choosing to come here even with bad reviews dont! We came here because it was the only place open on a Sunday and he really needed his tire fixed TODAY. called the store and so many different numbers everything went to voicemail. Well, now I've been in there 3 times for an alignment cause it somehow knocked out of alignment. It was way out. The camber is still a bit out. They said they couldn't put it back into alignment because I have aftermarket upper control arms and my tires were slightly larger than the factory size. 1st of all, the aftermarket arms are so that a knowledgeable tech CAN align it correctly. 2nd they had already aligned it correctly and probably didn't torque the cams to spec which is why it fell out of alignment so quickly to begin with. So why was it so hard(impossible) for the tech to get it back into spec? He spent 20 min on my truck and didn't mess with it enough. The tech was clearly lazy and didn't know what he was doing. He knew he wasn't making money on the job (6 month guarantee) so he didn't care. I initially gave them a good review because they did a good job. I'd like to retract that initial statement based on my experience above. read more

I called last week to schedule an appointment to have my oil changed, they looked up my vehicle in their system and said not a problem and quoted me 40.00 +tax and said it would take about an hour. Yesterday I dropped off my vehicle, with no problems. I came back after 45 min and they were finishing up. 1. The bill was more than what I was told, when I asked why I was told that my vehicle took one more quart of oil than they thought (did you look it up like you said when I called to make the appointment? 2. the tech got out of my vehicle and was very dirty with oil, dust, and just all-around shop dirt which is fine but they DO NOT use seat covers and he was not wearing gloves so all that dirt is now all over my steering wheel and seat. He took two steps and started PICKING HIS NOSE and wiped on his pants... SO IS THAT ON MY SEAT NOW AS WELL?? The oil is changed but for what I paid I expect the quote to be accurate and the people to not leave dirt and boogers in my car. For the exact same amount of money, you can find other places that will not make you want to take a shower after they work on your car. read more

My FRONT driver tire went flat, so I took my car over to get it aired up again. The guy told me it was actively leaking air. (I know now that's a strategy to make more money, but at the time, I was concerned.) So I went back to get a new tire put on. Skip ahead a few months... I got a nail in the passenger rear tire and put on my spare tire. I went back to get the flat tire replaced and they told me that my front tires needed replaced. How can that be? The one was supposed to be brand new! He looked up his work order and they had replaced a REAR tire. Wait, so was my front tire actively leaking air?! Or what happened here because it never did go flat again. That seemed shady in itself, but then everyone around me told me you put the good tires on the front where the power is for a front-wheel drive. I went to my usual dealership to ask them and they said yes, the good tires go on the front, not the back. They weren't sure why Tire Choice didn't ensure my good tires were on the front (and since it was a front that went flat, you'd think it would've just been left alone...). So not only did they not even replace the correct tire, they had my good tires on the BACK when they're supposed to be on the FRONT. I can't trust these guys, and I don't think you should either. The dealership is more expensive, but I can trust that they know their stuff and they're doing it right. read more

Bought a set of tires out of state at a Goodyear shop and paid for road hazard. Skip forward 4 weeks and wind up with nail in the tire while on a trip to Boise so I take it to Tire Choice Auto Service which has Goodyear all over the building and refused to fix the flat under my road hazard protection. They claimed not to be a Goodyear shop even though they have all the appropriate signage. Because I was in a pickle I had to have the tire repaired and was charged $50. I'm seriously regretting my decision to go with Goodyear and not go with Costco or Les Schwab. read more

These people have no idea what's going on. I ordered tires off of Amazon and they were delivered directly to the store, I paid for the installation fee online and they denied me service. He wanted me to pay them directly (again) for the installation and then "try to get a reimbursement from Amazon", as they have no business with Amazon. Then why are you the ONLY business that is recommended on Amazon for installation? Amazon told me several emails were sent to the store directly. Obviously, their employees don't read their emails, and have no problem with people showing up and denying them service, as the representative told me this happens "all the time; every time". I told them they should contact Amazon and tell them to remove them from their website if they don't plan on installing tires, but the guy told me that they get business from it so they don't care. read more

I received an installation date and time for Superior Tire in Boise Idaho located at 10611 W Fairview Ave Boise, ID 83713 I showed up for the installation, but they said the tires were not in. I then called goodyear, and they gave me a fedex tracking number for the tires. I then followed the tracking number until it said that the tires were delivered and signed by SSMITH. I called superior tire back, to reschedule the appointment now that the tires have supposedly shown up. They informed me that they have not received any tires, and they do not have anyone with the name SMITH that works there. I then contacted goodyear to get a refund. Goodyear responded below: We apologize for the inconvenience of this situation. We contacted Superior Tire & Service in Boise, ID and were advised that the tires arrived this afternoon. If you'd be willing to keep your order and have the tires installed, we'd like to offer back the installation charge of $56 for the unfavorable experience. If you'd still like to proceed with a cancellation, we completely understand and will honor that request. Please let us know. Thanks, At this point, I thought I could simply show up and get the tires put on since they were now magically 'found'. I called Superior Tire & Service on Tuesday 11/27. They told me the tires were definitely in. I make my second appointment for Thursday 11/29 at 9:00......show up for my appointment .... AND NO TIRES. Brought my car here to get an alignment. I dropped off the car bright and early at 7:30am. I received a phone call @ 1pm going over what they needed to do. I was told I would need to pay for a diagnostics even though I did not ask them to diagnose anything and depending on what they found and if, if, they could align the car I would have to pay for either the diag or the alignment. I say sure go ahead. Didn't receive another phone call so I stopped by the shop at the end of the day to see how it was going. I was told my car is not safe to work on because the master cylinder was leaking and the fuel lines on the caliper were lose. I asked them to show me. We walked out to the car and the reservoir was completely full and there were no signs of leaks coming from the cylinder or the brake lines, also the alignment, which is why I brought it in, hasn't been touched! To sum it up, I brought in the car for an alignment and they didn't even look at the issue and started trying to sell me on more services. I ended up taking the car home and had no issues with the brakes at all. They also stated there was grease on my hood which made them think it was leaking!!! So just who you know you are dealing with beware. When the old owners (and not sure if it was local) but you received a fair and honest job. Then the company was bought by a California company. Long story short I took my car in for an oil change. Upon picking up they told me I needed brakes ASAP as I only had 3 mil left on the pads and we can fix for 200 bucks. Ok 199.99. Anyway am a little mechanically inclined so thought I would do it myself. Bought the parts went home jacked up the car took of the hubcaps tires and bingo ready to do the brakes. Except for 1 thing ! THEY DIDN'T NEED DONE! The pads on the car were almost as thick as the new ones. Very good shape. So needless to say if they are going to up sell something no one needs go back to California. We do not need this kind of business in Idaho. Be very careful and get a second opinion. And I will not be using them again and have used them for several years Sorry to say I emailed it twice to the email you gave me so not sure where it went spam box ? I got oil change service and they did great job. The only thing they should consider next time is asking their customers what kind of service they're doing, specially if they have different prices and options. I stop a day before to schedule my appointment and asked the prices for oil changes. The guy on front said they start at 39.99(that's it) then we set my appointment for the next day. When I showed up i provided my info for the appointment and then he asked "what are we doing?" and i said "oil change" so he asked for my keys and said it'll be done in 45 min. I hung around, ate something and when they said my car was ready he told me it was $108.65 total, I was shocked with the price cuz i was expecting to only pay 39.99 plus whatever tax or something. I told him to hang a bit cuz I had to check my bank account. Luckily I had the money but now I have to sacrifice other priorities because I paid that much. My question is, What would of happen if I say I don't have that money? Please ask precisely maybe 3 times what job it has to be done. Then you might have customers to come back. Really bad service!!! I went in bought new tires for my car, ended up hitting a rock on the road at 55mph blew out the tire. I went in to see if warranty would cover a blow out by rock and the guy told me no way! warranty doesn't cover hitting a curb! I said we hit a rock, he says same thing "warranty won't cover hitting a curb!" Then I take my RV in to get the pressure checked same guy said sorry we don't have the right tool to air up your tires and from working in a tire shop I knew that was a crock since the tool required was just an extended air chuck when all of a sudden one of his guys comes running out with the special tool required and starts airing up my tires? So just recently (I'm still not learning my lesson) and took my truck in to get a flat repaired same guy!!! goes out looks at tire and said sorry tire is six years old we can't repair it!! $50 part cost me $480. Went in for a new valve cover gasket. Was told when I dropped it off they charge $144 for a diagnosis fee. If I have them fix it that will go toward my service. They tried to charge me the $144 on top of everything. I told him that I was told that goes toward the service. He then told me they need to make money some how and he would ask the guy if that's what he told me. Calls me back and says yes that's what he told me and took that charge off. They didn't have to diagnose anything as I told them what I wanted fixed. Which I was correct. It was $480 for a valve cover gasket. $360 for labor was absolutely asinine on something that is an easier fix. I get they have to make money some how but that is outrageous. I also asked them to rotate my tires and they didn't do that either. For what I paid I couldn't even get that done. Will not be returning. read more

This location is okay for tire related issues only, but they are not trustworthy for any mechanical concerns. I had my tires replaced yesterday and was informed that the left front hub needed replacement. They gave 2 options either using Chinese manufactured with 90 warranty $373.47 or American manufactured $509.32 month 24k mile warranty. I have had issues with this location in the pass trying to sale unnecessary repairs and took my vehicle for 2nd opinion to a reliable repair shop I've trusted over 20 years. No issues was found. Be aware!! The positive reviews posted here in 2019/28 should be taken off the site. The new owners/manager from 2020 have nothing to do with those reviews. We took our older Ford150 truck in on May 23, 2020 for obvious transmission problems. The manager," fast-talking "Charlie" said "yes, we do transmission work". However, after charging us $4011 for work not requested and work not done (transmission) the truck broke down one day after picking it up from being 'repaired'. Towed {again) the truck to 36-year transmission business on Overland and the new transmission cost $4000. We are out $3200 with Tire Choice, having agreed to pay for the $800 brake work. Owner of company is NOT manager Charlie, as he told us, but a belligerent Robert Head who refused to do anything, much less return funds. Now the holidays are done and we are filing a court suit while in the meantime making payments on THREE Goodyear/TIre Choice credit cards every month. We have taken our vehicles for 20 years to the Goodyear stores here in Bose and they did a great job. Not so with the new owner/manager at Five Mile and Fairview. The trustworthy competent guys that worked there for years retired. Go elsewhere! read more

Charlie was more than helpful showing me multiple options in tires and road hazard insurance benefits which included free tire rotation. As it turned out my brakes checked out fine but struts and shocks he recommended to replace which I did. Great service and crew! read more

Been going here for years when Jerry was manager with good results. He's now been replaced by Charlie. Took my car in for oil change and to see about getting my Air Conditioning fixed. Guess I didn't realize when they told me they'd look into it and let me know what was wrong and give me a quote, I'd be paying for a diagnostic test which would be applied to the total cost of repair. I discovered the charge for the test was $142.13 with tax and total cost for repair would $1,800+. I paid for the test which sounded excessive and then took my vehicle to dealership where I'd originally purchased it and showed them the quote from Superior Tire. For the exact same service with no charge for the diagnostic they quoted $1,391 but wouldn't be able to get to it for a couple days. I then went to a coffee shop where I visited with an old friend who advised me to take it to his repair shop he'd gone to for years. I did and happily discovered for the exact same service they'd charge me $928 and no charge for the diagnostic. Obviously, I accepted that offer and am now happy to have the AC running smoothly and saved almost $1,000 from Charlie's quote. Not happy about having to pay for the diagnostic charge but still saved a bunch of money anyway. I did call Charlie to give him my good news and questioned why his quote was so much more to which he congratulated me on getting it done for much less. I'll be taking all my business now to the shop where I had this repair done from now on. I'd advise getting other quotes before accepting one from Superior Tire for a major repair unless you have an absolute emergency. read more
