Made an appointment for 2 tires changed for 10 AM. Tire track suggested. Showed up to be told i have to wait 2 hours for the cars ahead of me. The shop was void of cars and people. I spoke with someone at the shop to confirm i could wait and it would be around an hour total. Clown manager tried to explain an appointment time only meant they would fit u in some time That day. Had a slow leaky tire - went in and they were able to fix it (large screw in middle of tread) within 30 minutes and had me on my way.

Services have dropped so bad over the past year. Work is not being completed in the timeframe offered or promised. Finding charges on my bill that were not discussed or disclosed at the time I paid. Tire Choice/Mr. Tire/Monroe as a whole needs to evaluate themselves. The technicians that do the work seem knowledgeable and want to help.. They also spend more time apologizing for things that don't go right because the managers don't want to handle the issues. And when you do challenge a bill, nothing happens. Theft and fraud are what I see going on. Maybe I should contact a class-action attorney and see what we can do?? read more

I believe things may have changed at Tire Choice in Mt Airy, MD or maybe it is services outside of tires is not a fit for them. We have gotten tires for two of our vehicles from Tire Choice. When our Mercedes Benz SUV needed tires, we of course took it to Tire Choice. When we picked up our vehicle, they said we needed new brake pads in the front of back. Not surprised since our vehicle is eight years old with 59K miles. We asked about if we needed new rotors, and we were told no, just brake pads. However, they recommended a brake fluid exchange/flushing. Fast forward two weeks, and we bring our vehicle in for the brake pads and fluid exchange with the estimate. The manager asks why rotors are not included in the estimate, and we said because we were told they were fine. The manager said let them get our vehicle on the lift, and they would let us know. We get a call back, and he said we need new rotors. Our vehicle is a European model which does not allow for rotors to be turned. We approved the rotors, and asked him to keep us posted on when we can pick up our vehicle. We called late morning the next day to get a status, and we were told we could pick up our vehicle around 1 pm. About 30 minutes later, we get a call that they forgot to include in the quote brake sensors. They need to be reset when replacing pads. At this point two thoughts are going through my head. 1) We are being nickeled and dimed. 2) How do you not know what is needed to perform a service? To say we are a little less than happy at this point is putting it mildly. We finally get a call that we can pick up our vehicle at 2:45 pm. When we arrive, the employee that gave us the estimate is working. I said to him.....you forgot to put rotors on the estimate. That is because you didn't need them, he said. Well, if I didn't need them, why did you replace them? I said to him this is not a positive outcome. He could have cared less. It was a challenge to get him to review the warranty with me. The icing on the cake is when I drove home, I had all this black crud all over my steering wheel, door handle, and shifter. The mechanics obviously don't wear gloves when on the interior of a customer's vehicle. They maybe a great place for tires, but I would caution using them for mechanical repairs. read more

Went to tire choice in Mount airy to have four tires mounted and balanced and alignment done, they could not perform the alignment because they said I needed front struts, , so as I drive home, the vehicle is shaking. The tires are not balanced correctly, so I get the front struts replaced take it back to them and tell them the tires are not balanced correctly, and they inform me that their tire balance machine was broken and not balancing the bigger tires correctly, then it was time for the alignment after they finally correctly balanced the tires. They said the car was done. I drove off and immediately turned around and went back. The alignment was not done correctly, either then stated it needed camber adjusters. vehicle sat there for three days when the camber adjusters finally came in on the third day they still couldn't perform the alignment. It was gonna be another day. I informed them I wanted a refund for the alignment and I will be taking it elsewhere I picked up my vehicle, took her to the shop that I was gonna have to do the alignment correctly and they inform me that the reason why it kept coming out of alignment is because, this shop tire choice never tightened the locking nut for the outer tie rods.i drove this vehicle from their shop on the road to another shop and had no idea that they left the nuts loose, which could've seriously caused an accident. I will not be ever going back to this shop again, it was my first time experience and my last experience at this shop. It's been over a week and I'm still waiting for my refund for the alignment that they were unable to perform. I do not recommend this shop to anyone. read more

This was my first time coming to TireChoice because I was in dire need for a tire. When I called I spoke with Christopher, who told me to come right on in! I said I'll be there in 10mins. When I arrived I was greeted immediately by Christopher. He was energetic, patient, kind, knowledgeable and treated me with care. I am so happy with my experience! He talked me through other issues he found, and was not pushy, at all. I'm coming back for another service this week and I'm sure I'll have another 5-star experience! Astonishing rudeness and absolutely absence of customer service! Take your money elsewhere and don't let this business treat customers like garbage! A friend has been buying tires here for over 20 years. Last time one of the tires was defective, when he presented the AAA report to this business, they told him that he hadn't purchased the hazard insurance and there's nothing they could do, farther more he was told to they "had enough of the BS, get out of here!" Took my 2007 Nissan Altima into this shop because I had a flat tire and my service engine light was on. I got it back 3 days later in even worse condition. First they told me I had to start putting premium gas in my car?? So when I went to go do that I could barely get my car to the gas station that I'd maybe 50 feet away. I drove my car directly back to the shop and it has now been in the shop for 3 weeks and just got a call that they are transferring my car to somewhere else. Keep in mind they never gave me a refund for breaking my car. $1500 down the drain. read more

Upon coming home from a recent night-time Virginia concert I misjudged a curb and smacked it. I mean I clocked that sucker to the point I actually bent the rim! BRUGA BRUGA BRUGA* it went as I drove to find a safe, lighted spot to install the spare. I took the Odyssey to Tire Choice in Mt. Airy and the gentleman at the counter said he could probably find a used rim somewhere (my van is rather 'long in the tooth' by now). I needed new tires anyhow. It took a few days, but a rim was found. In a perfect world my minivan would have been done in two days or so, but it often does not work that way in the service world. I know because I`m in it myself in another arena. Anyway, I must give Tire Choice 5 stars because once I got my van back, I found installed four Yokohama tires with tread the depth of the 'Grand Canyon' in contrast to the 'Delaware Water Gap' I`d had before. What a difference. More importantly, on my trip to Wilmington, DE a day later I found myself driving on I95 at 75 to 80 mph before I knew it, so the balancing and alignment adjustments must have been just right. Nick and the tire technician did a great job getting us back on the road. We were traveling to VA from out of state and had a tire issue late on a holiday. Not only did they have a uncommon tire size but they remained open late to mount new tires. Highly recommend. read more

While I was pleased with the new tires I had installed, staff were unable to identify a noise that began emanating from the rear passenger tire after installation. It took two separate visits before they were able find out what was wrong. Then they told me I needed to have $1200 worth of work done to my car. This is after being told twice that everything looked great and I wouldn't have any problems. Since that's a lot of money, I went for a second opinion to a mechanic I frequent. The mechanic easily identified the issue, explained what was wrong, and that the additional work suggested by Tread Quarters was not needed. Wish I paid more attention to his name - I think it's Orlando or Armando? Either way, he was FANTASTIC. Patient, great customer service with a smile, even though I walked in and they had other jobs before me, he didn't make me feel like I interrupted his day (even though I did). It's nice to not get taken/upsold when you come in for one issue - being a woman, I'm used to getting the "girl" version on vehicle issues, never mind that I'm a certified master tech. When he went over the diagnosis, he used layman terms but once I asked a more specific question, he switched over to shop talk and didn't tell me "you may not understand how it works" (Century Ford/Dodge service advisors use that as their go-to phrase when they can't answer a technical question -- irrelevant to this review but I'm only here because I got tired of the smart ass comments there). I bought four tires here for an SUV. They had a good selection of tires, and I waited while they installed them. They weren't the fastest or cheapest place I have ever bought tires, but they were solid, respectful and honest. Other places have tried to sell me additional services I didn't need, but I didn't feel that way here. Free wifi in the waiting room was a bonus--I did some work while I was waiting, and that helped a lot. There was free coffee, too. read more

Worst customer service I have dealt with in any company. Booked an appointment online for brakes days before, drop off was fine. Never received calls for an update. Every time we called they told us it was being worked on until my wife showed up 30mins before closing. The car has been there 10 hours at this point. They made her pay and said it would be done shortly and they would leave the key under the mat??? Good to know for thieves this is their practice. We came back shortly to pick it up and car was still on the rack (we could see through the windows) and the shop was shut down for the day. Corporate offered my wife a $50 gift to compensate both of us missing a half day work the next day and then they hung up on her for calling that offer bulls***. Car still took until noon for them to complete the next day and the best answer we got was "it's not our fault we didn't have the part". We have spent over twelve thousand dollars over several years and will never go back again. If you're reading this before you book your appointment, avoid at all costs. Plenty of service shops that want to gain and retain business in town. read more

Dropped two tires of Saturday 430 pm. (they are open unitl 7pm) Person at front desk asked if I could leave them and come back. I said that I could pick them up Sunday and asked what time they opened (9am). I asked if they would be ready then. He said no probably 1030 or 11. No problem I went back Sunday at 130pm. No one had started on the tires. No work order existed for the tires. In conclusion, after storing my old tires and rims for 21 hours I left with my old tires. I wasted two trips, 20 miles of diving and about an hour of my time.... I still need tires. They weren't cheaper than other places but should have been easier. Originally a one star review. James listened to my issue and ensured. My tires were done correctly and quickly the following week. One bad employee doesn't merit a one star review but I am leaving the account of my experience. If I would have worked with James originally, this would have been four or five stars. read more

I bought tires here back in the fall 2015, when I picked my truck up after hours I found one of my new tires was flat. They repaired it the next day and offered me a free oil change for my inconvenience. Last night I dropped my truck off for a scheduled 7:30 am appointment to have a tire repaired, I had a nail in the tire and slow leak. When I went to pick it up @ 1:00 they hadn't touched it. While I was standing looking into the shop I watched a tech using a hammer to get an oil plug loose, needless to say I won't be getting an oil change there. Two experiences with this business and both were strikes, there won't be a third. read more

Worked with Kemper Leonard. Not a good experience. I will never return there nor refer anybody. 1) They lost my tire installation order and thus didn't call me when my tire arrived. 2) Overcharged me by assessing fees and violating the "price pledge" by tacking on "shop fees" to my invoice. When I questioned the fees being different than my reservation online, Kemper said "I don't know what you're talking about." Clearly he lost my order. 3)I asked Kemper since I was not having all tires replaced if they'd checked the air pressure in the remaining tires on the vehicle and his snarky/lazy response: "We just put the tire on. We didn't do anything else. That's all that was on the ticket." Really??? You didn't check the air pressure in the other tires or offer to do so? Then Mr. Leonard proceeded to tell me they could pricematch tirebuyer and tire rack prices. Really? Do you think I'll ever come back to your store again for ANYTHING? 3) I had to listen to Kemper badmouth another customer to another employee about how "cheap" this guy was trying to blame his roofing contractor for a nail that was removed from his tire. Very unprofessional. Clearly, Mr.Tire/Treadquarters Auto Centers/Monro Muffler and Brake are bitter about their arrangement with tirebuyer/tirerack and have absolutely zero interest in serving tirebuyer or other online clients. Serving online clients allows Mr. Tire to earn new customers future business on other products like brakes, oil/fluid changes/scheduled maintenance/etc..but clearly they have no interest in this. I would not trust them to do anything to my or my families vehicles. I highly recommend selecting anybody else on this list for your tire and other automotive needs. Excellent service started with man up front and continued with the tech in the back. No pressure. Got a flat fixed with a coupon and brake flush. Relaxed atmosphere. Quick service while I waited. Was brought back and shown a second nail in a different tire. Shop patched that hole as well without additional charge. I will be back for my future auto maintenance needs. read more

Just had my Honda Civic in for service at Tread Quarters in Mt Airy and although a long time customer, since the days when it was Rice Tire many years ago, I will not be going there ever again. Dropped the car off on Sunday the 11th to have some front-end work done, leaving my car there for them to test drive and make the required repairs. On Monday I was told that the part(s) were going to take 4-5 days to arrive, so I stopped by Monday afternoon on my way home to get the garage door opener out of my car. Much to my surprise, when I opened the driver's side door, I discovered that the technician who test drove the car, who must have been laying on his back on the shop floor prior, did not put any seat covers on the seat and there was grease and grime all over the light beige driver's side seat. Prior to dropping the car off, all of the seats, as is the entire interior, were immaculate. I walked in to express my concern and that I had wanted the seat cleaned prior to anyone else getting into the car to avoid the dirt getting ground into the fabric any more than it had, was met with little empathy and no apology. I stopped by two days later, on Wednesday afternoon, to check on the car and the seat had yet to be cleaned. I promptly walked in again to express my concern and reiterate that I wanted the seat cleaned prior to anyone else getting into the car, and for a second time received no apology, but did however get the distinct impression that it was me who was being unreasonable and I certainly didn't get the feeling that customer service was of any priority. On Friday I received a call and was told the part(s) that had arrived for the repair were incorrect and the person who I had been working with still had offered no apology, even when I requested for a third time that the seat be cleaned prior to me picking up the car either Saturday or Sunday afternoon, requesting that the repairs not be competed and letting him know that I would take it somewhere else to complete the repairs. Picking up the car on Sunday the 18th drove home my impression that customer service was of no real concern at that store and that indeed I was the one who, by their actions and tone, who was asking too much from them that the seat of my car that was thoroughly soiled by their technician(s) be thoroughly and properly cleaned. Sure, an attempt was made by them to clean the seat, but was made with the effort and quality of someone who clearly was irritated at me and thought that I was the pain and the one who should be punished in this situation. After confronting the gentlemen at the desk, who I had initially talked to when I dropped the car off the prior Sunday, and showing him pictures that I had taken of the seat each time that I has stopped by, was again offered no apology and in absence of an apology offered every excuse as to why it may not have been their fault and why it took so long for even a half-hearted attempt to be remedied. To culminate my last experience ever at that location, and it will absolutely be my last visit there, the gentlemen pounded his clinched fist into the opposite open palm and said under his breath, but loudly enough for me to hear, "I'd like to kick your a__", to which I responded as I was walking out "If it would make you feel better you can come out here and try." At which point I left the establishment and will never, under any circumstances, return. read more
