[[HIGHLIGHT]]The man at the counter (I'm assuming a manager) treated me like dirt.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Another employee of the store did help me to determine there was a hole in the sidewall of my tire.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was one day from pay day, so I was not in a position to replace the tire. I asked if they could put the spare on, and the man at the counter said it would take 2.5 hours to put on the spare tire. He then also mentioned that the tire with the hole was holding air, and I could get home on that tire. (Mind you, I live 40 minutes away and it's highway driving) I drove about 1.5 miles down 270 before the tire went flat. Thank goodness for St. Charles Police Dept and Justin at MODOT, I called the non-emergency police and they got in touch with MODOT. Justin came out and put that spare tire on in 5 minutes. (If anyone from MODOT reads this, thank you!) So no, it was not okay to get home on that tire. I believe the man at the counter knew that and just wanted me to leave. My daughter, who is a student at the college, took her car to this place to get an oil change, instead of draining the oil, they drained the transmission fluid and then added more oil to the point that that it was over flowing. When she got in the car it was obvious something was terribly wrong with it. She took it back to them and when we realized what they did, we told them not to touch the car anymore and have it towed to the car dealership. I was told that they would tow it, however, they filled it with transmission fluid and drove it there. Once we got it there, we also found out that they filled it with the wrong kind of transmission fluid and they messed up a couple of things. I was told that the person that did the oil change was new. Horrible and absolutely avoid this place. They also lied all over the place. 0 stars is the most appropriate rating. read more

If I could give no stars I would. By far the worse experience I've had. First, these idiots took over an hour to replace two tires, saying they couldn't get the tire on my rim. They quoted me 88 a tire with labor but charged me 243 and gave me a receipt that had (not official receipt all over it) After they seemed to figure it out, I get back into my car and start driving and the car drove WORSE than it did with two bare tires. And on top of that, my service light was on when it wasn't on or have had issues with it before I brought it in. I took it back and they said it was my tire weights and began to tell me I needed to get my transmission looked at. But wait, it gets better. So I checked all the basics on why my car would have a service light on and of course they broke my gas cap. Fixed that and guess what? Service light came off. You'd have to be an idiot to ever do business with these con artists. read more

I recently needed to check on some issues with my vehicle's air conditioning system which had been repaired within the past year at the AutoTire Car Care Center on Droste Road in St. Charles. The car was also due for some regular maintenance as well as a state safety and emissions inspection. I've used this shop for the past few years for maintenance and repairs and have been extremely satisfied with the service. While surprised to find that there had been a change of management, I was pleased with the way Jerry Webb, the new store manager, took the time to familiarize himself with my vehicle, through the shop's computerized customer records and by allowing me to describe the car's repair and maintenance history. Jerry recognized the value of a regular customer and seemed intent on retaining a regular customer. Repairs needed for the inspection and fixes for the A/C were minor but required locating several parts for my older vehicle. Jerry used his resources and suppliers to locate the somewhat hard-to-find parts. He worked out a schedule to complete the repairs, maintenance and inspection that was as convenient for me as possible. Jerry arranged for Scott, the technician most qualified to handle the A/C issues, to manage those repairs, while Tyler, another technician at the shop, picked up the balance of the work. It was an impressive team effort! All the work and repairs were completed according to schedule and at a very fair cost. Store Manager Jerry Webb kept me updated on the progress of the work. Jerry, Scott and Tyler answered all my questions with thorough and professional explanations. I have been to several different mechanics over the years (oil change, tire rotation, etc.) and never before have I been more disgusted with the work done. I am more concerned about the safety and condition of my car now that they have worked on it than I was prior to bringing my car in. When they first told me everything had been taken care of and I began to drive away, I noticed a very loud scraping sound coming from under the car, so I turned around as soon as possible. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, it was in the afternoon, perhaps they were tired and forget to re-attach the skid plate properly (which was, after I inspected the underside of the car, the source of the scraping sound). I thought no big deal, as I drove away the second time. It seemed as if they had attached it and the extra 30 minutes was no big deal. Then, about 2 minutes after leaving, I hear a little snap and then that scraping noise again.. except this time much louder. I immediately turned around and went back to the autotire parking lot, where I, again, inspected the underside of my car. Wow this time, the entire skid plate was hanging on by 2 measly little bolts on the back, I'm surprised I didn't lose it before I got there. This time, I approached the manager there and told him that the skid plate had fallen off again. This time, I expressed my concern saying, "I'm a little worried, this has never happened before, the skid plate was hanging on perfectly fine before I brought my car in, can you explain this?" He replied saying that the fasteners holding the skid plate were bad and that he was trying to use the bad fasteners to hold it on. He then began walking away mid conversation as I was protesting him explaining that this was ridiculous. He replied saying that they would zip-tie the skid plate on. Gee, thanks. I drive away the third time with my zip-tied on skid plate and actually make it home, with my skid-plate shockingly still attached. I called them back immediately and he then outright lied blatantly to me, saying that the skid plate had been held on by zip-ties in the first place. Next they called me on an unrelated note asking if I had found any keys in my car, as they had lost track of another customer's keys. I could not possibly make this up, it's too ridiculous. However, I'm not a spiteful person, I searched my car thoroughly to see if any keys had fallen into any crevices. I did not find any, but what I did find in my trunk were the tire changing tools strewn out and the mat covering the spare tire lifted up and askew. They had rummaged through the trunk of my car to find parts with which to change my tires perhaps? They did not tell me any of this and still have not yet. I am seriously concerned about my car now and if any more serious problems occur, I will hopefully have a serious legal case. read more

Called the State trooper's office who sent out a trooper, who also agreed that the car was fine. Trooper had to address the shop and wrote them a citation. Went there for an oil change, was easy enough. A few days later my 2014 car started acting weird so I brought it back and after 8 hours of it there without a call and t getting close to closing time I called to get an update. They sounded flustered and told me to pick it up but wouldn't say what was wrong. I went up and a tech in the back who rudely said"I know you're a woman so you don't understand any of this" which may be true, but still rude, explained I had an O2 sensor out and some other sensors out. He said it could be up to a grand. Luckily, I still have warranty on my car so I went to my dealership where I should have gone in the first place and they said only the spark plugs were out and an easy fix which was covered. Had an appointment at noon for a simple alignment and safety inspection, I was told it would take around 2 hours to complete. I called back at 2:30 to check on the progress, only to be told that they hadn't even started on it, and it would be done around 6. They seem to be confused on the concept of an appointment time. Needless to say I picked up my vehicle and took my business elsewhere. Terrible experience and a huge waste of my time. I would highly advise going elsewhere for any service you may need. read more

Only reason I went here is because the website I bought my tires off of only gave free shipping on the tires if I went to one of their approved tire installation companies. While my car was there it got DENTED! I tell them about it and the manager says "that was there when you brought the car in". I then ask him why this wasn't noted on the write up as any other place makes note of damage on the write up prior so that these type of disputes don't happen. He then had no response. Now let me tell you I keep my car in perfect shape (08 Mustang), I look over it every time before I leave a parking lot so I would have noticed if it had a dent before I dropped of the car. Needless to say I then asked him for their corporate office number. I call corporate and tell them and give them all the information they need about which store this happened at. They then tell me they will be in touch next week. So next week rolls around and they tell me to take pictures of the dent and to then email to them. Did that and a couple days later they tell me to go to an auto-body shop and get an estimate. So I go to an auto-body shop and get an estimate which was a little over $1,000 and then have an electronic copy of the estimate emailed to corporate. Then a week or so later I get told by corporate that they wont be paying for the repair. BE WARNED, never go to an Autotire for anything, ever! read more

At the end of April 2016, my vehicle sustained much water damage during a storm and it was taken to this Auto Tire since it was near my house and it's supposed to be a "full maintenance and repair shop". It was explained to 3 different technicians that my vehicle went through substantial amount of water in which it immediately died and would not start. The next day, I was called and told that I needed a new fuel pump, in which I explained to them in that moment that a new fuel pump was replaced not even a year and a half earlier. It also need an EGR Tube. This visit alone was over $900. When I drove my vehicle away, there was no significant change to the way my vehicle was driving. They wouldn't have known this because all they do at this shop is replace parts, charge you for them and pull your vehicle out of the garage and pull it up to the front office. They do not even take it out on the road and test drive your vehicle to make sure the parts they replaced were correct. But I'm a woman and how am I supposed to know?! Then the next day, I called back because my check engine light came on again and I now needed an EGR Coil which was again over $300. My vehicle again was still not driving properly. Then the next day after this visit, my check engine light comes on again and now I needed the spark plug coils. After this visit, 2 of the technicians were frustrated with me because I was complaining about my vehicle. 1 of the technicians even said, "it sounds like you have water somewhere that's not getting out". Really?! That's what I've been trying to tell you guys, all 3 technicians over the past 1 1/2 weeks, 3 visits up here and $1300 later in just 1 1/2 weeks. Since I filed an insurance claim on my vehicle for flooding, they insisted that I take my vehicle to a Chevy Dealer to get it properly diagnosed since Autotire was clearly just changing parts and charging me for them. Within a week later, the Chevy Dealer diagnosed my vehicle as needing an entirely new engine and my insurance company decided to "total out my vehicle due to substantial amount of flood damage" and deamed my vehicle as "not repairable". I've since, for weeks, have talked to and explained this situation with many different people at Autotire and have requested that they refund my $1300 spent on new parts that my vehicle DID NOT need because they did not properly diagnose my vehicle and they are supposed to be a full maintenance and repair shop. Somehow at this store, sales tickets were lost and didn't have full explanations on them due to the error of the technicians. The most help I received from Autotire about this situation was from a Regional person named Jamie Gomez. However, he himself was not even getting return calls from their corporate offices in this matter but he was trying to help me with this situation. Jamie ended up telling me that he could refund up to $600 of the money I spent at this store and in turn, corporate offices mailed me a check for $300 and some change for the 2nd visit that I returned my vehicle to this shop. Which in fact, the very 1st visit to this shop, I explained to 3 different technicians that my vehicle went through flooding during a storm and that my fuel pump was replaced not even 1 1/2 years earlier, but they still DID NOT properly diagnose my vehicle and insisted that I needed a new fuel pump. So Autotire does take responsibility for $300 of this but not the full $1300?! 1 person told me they could refund $600 and I receive a check for $300?! This is not right! read more
