I have been in this Tire Choice a few times as it is right around the corner from my parents place. This visit was because my undercarriage needed to be put back into place after hitting something in the road. I was told that it wasn't something that they normally do but that they would put it up and see what was going on. The guy helping me out came back out and said that I was just missing a few screws and that he would just reconnect it without any issue. It only took about 4 minutes. I greatly appreciated the quick service provided, especially if it isn't something they normally do. He could have easily just sent me on my way to another location where who knows what I would have been told or charged. read more

I went online and made an appointment at 10am and cleared off my morning schedule so I could wait on the work to be completed. When I arrived , I showed them the email of the appointment and the comment was 'did you make that online?' This place is a scam and only try to rip off clients. I pre purchased a oil change and everything was ok until i mentioned that I already prepaid (a synthetic blend oil - same that I always get at other place and this is ok by the owners manual). So they guy told me they could not take my voucher which I already paid almost $50 and that I could only get the pricier oil and pay in full at the counter. "Store policy as how he referred to why they would do this". I loose my whole morning waiting for nothing. I'll never comeback here and would advice to anyone to go unless you only want to be upsell and ripened off. read more

These guys won't screw you over and isn't that the most important part? I went for a service and they came back out to tell me what I needed would be useless if I didn't get new tires. I definitely appreciate that, since I would have ended up paying twice. He also pointed out that one tire would be okay a bit longer if I needed to but the other needed attention ASAP. Then he was willing to work with me on the pricing to get the best deal with the things that I was going to need done. I also appreciated that he actually took me out to the service bay and physically showed me all the things he was talking about. I didn't end up using them simply because I had a friend who could do it for just parts cost but that still meant SO much to me and I'll absolutely still go back to them when I need the service I was there for to begin with! read more

I wouldn't recommend this place. They don't know what they are doing. I came in because I popped my tire. They tried to sell me 4 tires when I only needed the one. I was there 4 hours becasue they said my rim was too big and it was bent. I wasted 4 hours there for no reason and I had to pay a labor fee when they didn't even fix my tire just for them to put my spare tire on. I think they didn't know what they were doing. I went to a different tire place and they didn't have any issues with the rim getting into the tire and the rim wasn't even bent at all read more

Originally gave a 5-star rating until we went back through our $3,453.09 bill line by line from November because what should have been fixed was not and left my daughter with a broken-down car in downtown Tampa at night. 4 spark plugs at $60.83 a piece, outrageous, with $139.20 labor. Total for that line item was $800.12, based on charges should have been $383.02. Where did the $417 go? I will say shame on me as a consumer for not going line by line for charges but was definitely scammed. Engaging corporate and my attorney to resolve. Please don't make the same mistake I did, go through every line item with a fine tooth comb. read more

So, I took my car there this morning after the brakes and rotors started grinding. So they looked at it and said, hey it's going to cost $775.I said ok, do it. So when picking up the car they tell me, do not drive the car you are going to ruin all the work that was done. They said you need to take it to a dodge dealership to get it done properly. So it wasn't the brakes and rotors it was something else. So they didn't even fix the darn problem. Just a waste of $800 dollars. They should have told me that putting brakes and rotors on won't fix the problem, that should have been the first darn thing they said. Instead they do the work, get their $800 then tell me they can't fix the problem. What the heck kind of place does work like this. read more

Second time dealing with this establishment on Sheldon Rd. First time went great, got my tire changed and was on my way with no problems. Second time was when all the issues occurred. I had a deflated tire and called and the employee from last time, Derrick said that he would get me the same EXACT tire as he did on my last service and that it would come in the day of at 4 pm. Came in at 4 pm and waited. I was bored so I went to check our their coffee and donuts but they had a fly in there which should've been a sign to leave. 30 min later, Went to check on my tire and it was NOT the same tire!! Told him and he said the logo was just on the inside which concerned me because why would they put a tire inside out? Wouldn't it be the same as my other three tires??!! But then he said it was his fault and he would order me the same tire and I just left otherwise I would be late for work, and I trusted him. Got home and find out that they didn't check and regulate the air pressures in my tires!! Had to fill and check all of them myself and when I called Derrick on the phone, he said," Damn why you calling so much". Finally got my tires changed after waiting 4 more days. Left again, and then find out that they still didnt put in the right pressures. So i went back and they redid it but Derrick called my car "annoying". No apology or lack of care. All in all, Customer service is lacking, they may sound nice on the phone but they give false promises and are inconsiderate and rather rude. Didn't even compensate for all the gas I had to waste going back and forth, all the time I had to spend with this when it should've taken on day, and they are not direct with appointments, would NOT go here again. read more

I bought a used car with tires needing to be replaced. Jeremy Vega at the Tampa store, 3603 S Dale Mabry Hwy, was knowledgable, fast and effecient. He quoted a price to check the suspensions system, align the front end and replace 4 tires that was well below his competetors. The entire job was completes in less than 1 1/2 hrs. I'm recommending the store and this manager highly. Whatever he's being paid, probably isn't enough. read more

Horrible work, after they took a whole day in what was a 4 hour job, they charged me 1200 dollars, and it turns out that I go 5 days later because the car is still leaking and has nothing to do with what they did, they even wanted to charge me more for the other fix that supposedly needs. That is to say that not even the warranty they give you is any good. Quite a scam. They took 30 min. just to turnaround to tell me they couldn't remove the oil plug. In reality, they felt it wasn't worth the effort, especially since they are currently running a $19.95 + disposal fee, which you don't need a coupon for. This messed up part of my day because I took time off work specifically to get an oil change - thanks for nothing! If I come back, it'll most def. be awhile. Have you heard of this type of an excuse to turn away a paying customer?! I had to take it to Evil Empire (Walmart) to get it done instead and they didn't say anything at all about the oil plug being "tight" & not being able to remove it! read more

Tire choice (formerly known as Mcgee auto service) has been my go to place for the past couple years mainly for the service and the convenient location. When it comes to auto mechanics the trust factor comes before anything else. My car was making a scrapping sound after installing new brake pads a few weeks prior, so I dropped of my car at TC for a quick brake check. Not long after, I get a call from TC and I'm told respectfully that my front pads were of cheap quality and replacing them could help get rid of the noise, also my rotors needed to be resurfaced. Being that I had just paid for these pads, I wasn't about to toss them for new ones. So the rep suggested getting the rotors resurfaced for $109. I mentioned that as long as its only a nuisance and is not causing an urgent problem I would pass. The rep then brought the price down to $54 which got my attention but also made me a bit skeptical considering the high discount. So I gave them the green light to proceed but only as long as this got rid of the grinding noise. That was the agreement. Long story short. After they called to let me know the car was ready, I asked if the noise was gone. They answered yes without elaborating. It didn't take long to realize that resurfacing the rotors did absolutely nothing to get rid of the grinding. My take on this experience was that they only cared about the upsell and nothing else. They never made me feel reassured about the work they did. So anyway. I take my car for a second opinion to another shop, and come to find out it was never the pads or rotors but my front tires (refer to my Speedway review for details). Picked up new tires, no more grinding. read more

Made a call out to tire choice and not only did they come out to my house and repair my tire but they also drove my car to the shop, replaced all the tires, changed the oil and gave me a tire alignment. Had my car ready on the same day. Legit went above and beyond could not be happier and will always come here for auto service!! I stopped in today because my car had a low pressure light on. The "tire guy" came out looked at the tire stating he saw a nail head and the tire needed to be replaced. He looked at my front tire and told me that one also needed replacement. I decided I needed a second opinion. My friend sent me to a nearby store where they tested the tire pressire and it was normal ... they carefully examined the tire and found no nail and said my front tire was not close to needing replacement. They reset my car computer and said at worst it's the sensor but in No Way is it my tire. Not ever returning to Tire Choice! read more

We did not have a good experience. My AC on my vehicle was blowing hot air out of it. The place we normally go to was closed for a few days for maintenance. We decided to give this place a try. We called them and Devon said they can fix the car that they will diagnose it and we can decide if we want to have it fixed. So we dropped it off for the day. We were quoted if it needed a new compressor it may 550. After diagnosis we were told it would be 1,280!!! They said it needed a new compressor and a few other parts. We also had a oil change in it. It's been terribly hot out we needed the AC fixed so we agreed. At checkout they found a 50.00 coupon didn't apply after I complained of price.. We picked it up right before closing. 1,230!! Noticed on way home it was still blowing warm air!! We went back the next morning to be told there's no one there that works on ACs. To come back Tuesday. I went there at opening at 730 on Tuesday to be told by Alex there was a call off and are short staffed that I could come back at 9am. I could not because of work. I called Thursday morning, after having intermission hot air blowing out and then some cold for 5 days. I asked if the AC technician was there and if I could bring it back in. Devon dropped me back home in my own car. They had my car for 6 hrs. When I called a few hrs later I detected attitude. Yes I am going to be mad with so much money spent and 5 days later not resolved. I'm told there was green fluid coming out of my car. Insinuating where ever I took it previously they must have checked if I had a AC problem. Which I never did. And original owner of my car with 62,000 miles on it. Was very vague just said they have been draining and flushing this green fluid for the past few hrs. A few hrs later they were finally done. We went back to pick it up and it was blowing cold air. Now we are left wondering if this green fluid was the problem did it even need the compressor. We are now out 1230.00. We would not recommend using this place especially for AC issues. We won't be coming back to this company read more

They say once you find an honest mechanic you have won! Well the day I walked into this place I WON! I have always been given honest advise (one time I thought I heard a noise and they said nothing was wrong, I mean.... wow as a woman I know nothing and could and would have easily paid anything they said but ended up all was well) I will never go anywhere else! The waiting room is very nice and clean, not that I have ever had to wait long. But it's nice to have coffee and TV while you wait. The staff is friendly. These are some of the most honest people I know. Me and my family have been coming here for many many many years, but we all recently got new cars. I just took my car to get an oil change and fix a recall last week at Nissan. Nissan said I needed new brakes and stuff but I told them not today. I went back to The Tire Choice and they said my car is still new and I can go awhile with the ones I have now that they'll check them every time I get an oil change. They did say I will need new tires next oil change (5k miles) and quoted me which I didn't think was a bad price either. read more

The manager was very rude and unprofessional. A situation occurred in between the manager and an employee in regards to my car and time management, it was obvious that they were talking about me. I was sitting right there in the waiting area and heard the comment. I waited about 5 mins to see if the manager would at least apologize, but he didn't say a word, they made me feel super uncomfortable. I stood up and asked the manager to please get my car and that I did not want any services done because I heard the comment the employee said and I felt very uncomfortable and upset. The manager completely ignores me, doesn't even make eye contact with me.. so I walked straight back to the garage and told the man working on my car to pack up my car and that I was leaving. An argument started because the employee began defending himself. At this point the whole entire situation was super awkward. They were blaming each other for the comment. The manager walked out and also began to argue with me.. I was so incredibly frustrated, uncomfortable and really disrespected. I just left and I never want to return to that place.... If the manager would have addressed the situation or at least apologize, I may have just let it slide and wait it out, but instead he decided to argue with me as well and make the whole situation even more awkward. As a female in a male dominated mechanic shop I felt very uncomfortable and it absolutely perpetuated the stereotype of women being treated poorly and unfairly in this type of environment. read more
