I bought new tires from Tire Discounters, the tires were a good price. When I picked up my son's car with the new tires I noticed that the custom chrome wheel hub cover was missing. They claimed that it must have fallen off before we brought the car in. That is impossible because the hub cover requires a key to remove the hub cover from the wheel. I spoke to the manager and he told me they didn't have the cover. Take a picture of your car before you leave it with them. My guess is they broke the hub cover before they realized they needed to use the key in the glove box. I will not be back. read more

I just went in yesterday and there was someone available to help me right away even during rush hour. He was very nice and gave good advice. I went in to show them a nail in my tire and asked for advice on plugging it versus buying a new tire. The nail was so close to the wall of the tire so I figured a new tire was needed. He mentioned how it wouldn't last long if we plugged it and suggested I buy one of their cheaper tires to get me through a couple more years since my other three tires were waring down. This place was great! Definitely recommend. I don't give out 5 stars often so it takes a lot from me to do so, like cheaper prices even and free drinks/food offered every time ;) That being said, this place is still great!! read more

Since I was so fed up with Costco, I was excited to give this place a chance since it was a lot closer to home than driving all the way to Charlotte Pike. I could not be more disappointed. I even waited quite a while to write this review because our first few experiences were so bad. I figured it was just typical of new businesses getting settled in, but no - this is the way it is, all the time - each time being worse and more unbelievable than the last. This is going to take a while so get comfortable. First of all what is with all of the good reviews? Obviously these people have been paid to leave false positive feedback - that or they are either lucky, blissfully ignorant, or idiots. Once again, deceived by the reviews. I should have known better this day in age, but like I said, Costco had driven me crazy. I was desperate and vulnerable. So last August we decided to buy our next set of tires with this company (that'll show you, Costco!) Michelins - not cheap. I already picked out what I wanted online, got the quote and everything - no one had to sell me anything. Called this location and was told it would take about an hour and a half to install the tires - sounded great so I made the appointment. Ended up taking about 4 hours - planned on waiting there since we were under the assumption that it wouldn't take that long. Kind of petty but after our $1,200 set of tires was installed, they looked like crap - all dirty, nasty, fingerprints all over the rims. You would think after dropping $1,200 on tires that they would come out of the shop spic and span. Icing on the cake after not only waiting that long, but the attitudes of the employees? They could have given a (*expletive*). How dare we inconvenience them? Again, maybe it's just a fluke. Surely they will work things out. Nope. Time for our first rotation and balance - called and made the appointment but dropped it off this time - fool me twice... Again with the attitudes - I don't get it. We are somehow at fault for purchasing these tires and doing business with this company. You know how there is usually a little sticker on the windshield to remind you when the next rotation is due? Well apparently it is a HUGE deal to obtain one of these. We were in a hurry when we picked up our vehicle that we drove off and never noticed it was missing until a few days later. Called to see if we could stop by and get one. WOW! How dare we? Apparently this is above anyone's pay grade that works there. It's like we completely stumped them with such an outlandish request. I can't remember how but eventually the wife was able to coerce one of the employees to produce one. I think she had to explain the theory of how you were supposed to know when you are due for another rotation. Fast forward to the present. Time for another rotation and balance. So we have learned that you no longer speak with an employee at the physical location - all calls are routed to a call center in Cincinnati and they make the "appointment" for you. Quotations because it's not really an appointment, they just kind of assure you that it will be done that day and that they are very busy. Found all of this information out when we dropped off the vehicle. This time the attitudes of the employees were more dark, defeated, and jaded. The guy told us how so many people have complained but there is nothing they can do - it's all up to corporate. He even offered us his general manager's name and number, but told us it wouldn't do any good. Another little tidbit of information: They don't do "Balances" unless a customer complains of vibration issues - just rotations. The guy at the counter actually told us that "...the guys might have had a little too much fun the night before, so they might not get the balance right." ...unbelievable... Tires slowly wear as you drive your vehicle, people. They need to be re-balanced periodically to ensure you DO NOT experience any vibration issues - hence why you get the Rotation AND Balance included with the purchase of a set of tires! The best part about this visit? Still no sticker!! Bwaahahaa! Done with Tire Discounters. So now I have to hide my tail in between my legs in shame and begrudgingly head back to Costco or somewhere else. What makes it worse is that we have to pay for another lifetime rotation and balance plan (yes, that's right say it with me: B-A-L-A-N-C-E, you know - little sticky weights and a machine that spins the wheel real fast - tells you where to stick them...) SMH... I believe this is what is known as a "stupid tax" which we have paid in full. Lesson learned. These experiences might sound somewhat petty but I just cannot put into words exactly how these visits went down. The attitudes, incompetence, and lack of caring extends far beyond what anyone could expect even on the worst day. Let the buyer beware. read more

Excellent people and their work is top notch. Anthony is usually up front checking you in and treats you like family, taking time to answer questions and explain things (even when they are busy). Roderick is the manager and he works right along side his people and really goes the proverbial extra mile. Today he got soaked walking me to my car in a sudden downpour. That stuff doesn't happen anymore but It's just what they do. What is huge to me is they are not just nice, they are honest. They've told me what I need to take care of and what can wait which hasn't happened to me much in similar establishments. I've never shown up and paid more than I expected, and am usually pleasantly surprised by the price. It's the kind of awesome experience you tell people about when you leave (also rare). If I could give zero stars I would! I took my car in because my tire was going flat. They told me it was fixed. 2 days later the tire was flat again. I took it back in. When I picked it back up I was told the tire "stem" was broken- they broke it& were just hoping I wouldn't notice my tire going flat againthey had too repair what they broke! 2 trips too fill with air! The next time my car wouldn't start properly! I took it in- was told I needed a new starter. They charged me $400.00. A few days later I went too start the car- WOULD NOT START! I went in and confronted manager about this problem. He told me they were having many complaints about faulty starters! I asked why they would put in a faulty part- no answer! The car had too be towed in ( I insisted they pay for that-they said the will send a tow truck. It never showed up. I contacted them the next day asking where& why they didn't pick it up- they asked again for my phone number -whatever number they had on paperwork was not my number! The next day the tow finally showed up. I was contacted by the manager too tell me it was not the starter but rather the battery! They never tested the battery wtf! I am a AAA member and told him there was still a warranty on the battery. He assured me he would check it out but either way he would "take care of the new battery" when I picked it up there was no additional charge. I insisted my money back for the misdiagnosed starter I never needed! The company instead try too charge me $129.99 for the battery- $52.50 labor-$16.80 Shop fees! For a battery I was told would "be taken care of" This company actually tried too charge me almost $70.00 just too put in a battery! I of course told them the charges were ridiculous! Not only charge me for the battery. After many phone calls complaining about the charges the regional manager waived the shop fees ( shop fees for a battery?) but refused too waive $52.50 for "labor& diagnosis" for a battery! The battery they put in actually came from advanced auto parts ( as they obviously had no batteries of their own! I contacted advance auto too ask how much they would charge too put in a battery - they do it FREE of charge! Also, being a AAA member they would have replaced my battery@ no charge! I had too complain too the regional manager for weeks! He stood firm on not refunding any money for labor etc! He accused me of wanting a free starter and battery! WTF! I told them too take out the faulty un needed starter and give me back mine! Of course, the part was gone! This went on for weeks! I finally offered to pay the $129.99 for the battery & tax-even thou there should have been no charge! They didn't agree too that offer! I had too talk too office manager who rudely told me she would look into it& again implied I wanted everything free! They refused reimbursement! Now they still had my $400& The $185.00 for battery! This went on for a month! I finally got transferred too someone else who did nothing! I finally had too open a dispute with master card as they would do nothing! This has been a total nightmare! Weeks later I tried calling them again trying too settle this- nope! Finally I reached a VP- they still insisted I pay for the battery! This has been dragged on for 3 months! They are the biggest rip off! Told me I needed a $400. Starter I never needed than tried too rip me off for the battery! To charge a customer $80.00 too put in a battery !! I would NEVER do business with them again! They took no responsibility and made me pursue this thru MasterCard and still dragged it out! Unless you want too be ripped off stay away! This has been frustrating and unnecessary! They just hoped if they kept aggravating me I would just go away- not happening! Take ur business else where!! Zero stars & a report with the BBB! People make appointments because they have to be somewhere else at a certain time. I made an appointment for 11:00 needing to be somewhere else by 12:30. They just pulled my truck in at 11:48, for my alignment, which means I will probably be late for my next appointment. I made an appointment last week. I brought my car in at the appointed time. I work alot and had to arrange rides..etc. Basically, they never touched my car all day, not even for a diagnosis. I was told to come pick up my car that they had a technician call in. When I arrived, all the bays were full and there were several technicians in the bays. I waited at the counter for 15 min to get my key while a service tech chit chatted with a customer about resturants, etc. They were obviously going to fix her car. They even tried to tell me the estimate I showed them was from Discount Tires and not them when it had their name on it. Good: They finished installing my four new tires within the time estimate they gave me. The salesperson, Chris, was very professional in dealing with my issues. Bad: They didn't carry the brand of tires that I wanted in-store (Yokohama), and when the salesperson suggested a comparable brand (Continental) I decided to go with that. However, after my car had entered the shop bay and was up on the lift, they told me that the tires I thought I was getting had been delivered in a mismatched configuration and were no longer available. The sales person then suggested another tire brand that was available. While this switch to the new brand (Nexen) ended up saving me ~$240 and I appreciate the directness of Chris, it was disappointing that my initial choices weren't available. Ugly: Given one price on the phone vs in-store. When I initially spoke with a salesperson on the phone, I was given a price for four new tires that I thought included tax. When I went into the store for my appointment, they told me that the price quoted to me on the phone did not include the applicable taxes, so I was now going to have to pay closer to $900 instead of the ~$740 I was expecting. Suggestions for improvement: Check inventory before recommending a tire to a customer. I understand mistakes happen in the supply chain but if you say you have something, you should have it. GIVE THE TOTAL PRICE INCLUDING TAXES. I honestly cannot recommend this enough. Despite the decent service I received and the good package with the tires, I can't in good faith recommend a store that uses such sales tactics. read more

I cannot be any more disappointed with this company that I previously put my faith in. I can only advise my most recent experience as that will be reflective of the current employees. I dropped my vehicle off around noon Feb 2 for oil change and tire rotation. I picked it up near closing time. As I was turning out of the parking lot, I felt bumps on the steering wheel. It took another turn for me to realize there were gashes in my steering wheel. I immediately returned. The front desk man, Frank, came out. "Feel this." I said. He did and replied, "I don't know what that is. Let me get Chris." Chris came and felt and saw and said that the technician was gone and I would have to return the next day and speak with the GM, Rod, who would need to take pictures and take care if it. I did so. In the morning, the abrasions had settled but there are obvious cuts in the leather, which the company is now trying to deny incurred there. With the laws of physics on my side, I will continue to pursue righteousness. If dishonest in this, where else are they being dishonest? Truth finds a way. Well, I assumed the truth would find a way, but alas, I had no pictures from the night of the incident (per Chris, since it was dark). And their 2 employees were not going jeopardize their jobs. I took them to small claims court unsuccessfully due to the fact that I had no lawyer nor legal ease. After they belittled me as a housewife on the witness stand (though I was previously a CPA for 20 years), I decided to not subject my 10 year old daughter to their lawyer's intimidation. This left me with no proof...despite their admission that their security cameras do NOT capture what happens inside the vehicle while in the bay area. Congrats Tire Discounters on a set up that exonerates your employees from their wrong doings. May others be luckier than myself. read more

I've never written a bad review of anyone before, but my husband had an unpleasant experience here recently. He tried to buy 4 tires, value about $500, and take the tires to the Mom-and- Pop business near us, where he always gets his tires mounted. First, they told him that his rim size was unusual and wanted to sell him something they had in stock, rather than order the tires he wanted. the rim size is a common one. Then they refused to sell him the tires. Because he wouldn't have them install them. Apparently they were pretty pushy about things. He went to Sears, was able to buy the tires he wanted, and have them installed by the small local business that we like to support. read more

I was told if I had my vehicle there by 5:45pm they would be able to install my 4 wheels prior to their closing at 7pm. I like to spend my money where I get the most bang for my buck but when I needed two tires IMMEDIATELY I had my first experience with TireDiscounters. I searched on the web and didn't have a whole lot of luck, next I called a couple of places trying to find tires in stock, including TireDiscounters with limited success. I had to run errands so I figured I'd try stopping by my usual tire place to see if they could get me a set of tires the next day with no luck. I headed over to TireDiscounters and spoke to Jay the General Manager and let him know what I needed. He found me two tires cheaper that what I spoken to someone about and let me know it was gone be a few hours to get me in and get the tires balanced and on my vehicle. I hung out using their Wi-Fi and two hours later I had two new tires on my car and was out the door. I let them know I was going to come back in a week and get the other two on the car and would they put them aside for me. Jay let me know that he would have them in stock and when I showed up a week later he was as good as his word and an hour after I got there I had the other two tires replaced plus since I just had two tires put on I was given a voucher for a free alignment good for 6 months! The guys at Tire Discounters went above and beyond and to ensure that I had a great experience and I've been getting my car serviced there ever since. Dropped my truck off on 7/9/19 for set of Michelin Tires, an alignment & a brake job. Vehicle was kept overnight & work was to be done the following day. No one called about the status of work needed on the brakes. About noon, I call & am told the tires had not arrived. I was totally okay with this. The first incoming call I receive is from the mechanic who tells me I need a brake job. Well duh, it's on the work order!!!! Went to pick up my truck that evening thinking everything had been completed. Driving a few days & feel vibration after 50 mph. So today 7/15/19 I call informing them of the situation. We schedule an appointment for 5:00 pm. On arrival, I'm told that no appointment was made and my wait would be 1.5 hours due to the fact that I'm a "walk in" If my tires were balanced properly when they had my vehicle the first time, this return appointment wouldn't have even been necessary. Customer service is a thing of the past. We as consumers now wait & beg for the products and services we are paying for!!! read more

I mean- 2 visits in 2 weeks. First time, no appointment, took 11:30-12:30 arrival to 6:30-7pm finish (closing time). Today, appointment at 1PM, been 4 hours of waiting. I saw my car being drove around and about 20-30min after that, I'm asked what car I drive to be checked on- I'm told, "they're test driving now to see what's wrong." Okay..? I am currently still in a state of shock since I left Tire Discounters. For a little backstory, my tire pressure light came on in my car when I left work Wednesday, 08/02/17. I have one of those air pump things that hook up to your car's "cigarette lighter". I made it home and the next morning, aired it up. Light went off. Cool. I drove quite a bit on Thursday and everything was fine but then this morning, Friday, August 4th while I was on my way to work, my light came back on. I had left early because I planned to stop at the grocery store but instead I called Tire Discounters to see if they could either replace the tire, patch it, or something. The guy who answered the phone was Anthony. I explained my situation and Anthony agreed it was very likely a leak. I asked if there was anyway I could stop in but seeing as I had to be at work, I didn't have much time. Anthony told me that there were three appointments in front of me but if I wanted, I could come in, they would throw my spare on, order me a tire, and tomorrow morning, I could come in and they could "NASCAR" it. One, I thought that was hilarious and two, I was more than stoked because the next day I would have available is Thursday. When I got to the store, a man who I learned to be Roderick approached me. I told him my situation. He fully understood by time crunch. He discovered a nail in the side of my tire meaning my only option was to replace it. Then after confirming that my car is all wheel drive, he sadly informed me that it's recommended that I change all of my tires. I came in with the expectation of a free patch or a discounted tire (because I have the road hazard warranty). Now I'm being told I need four new tires and its going to cost $750. Can I just go ahead and die now? I asked how low my other tires were and he said I was getting close to needing new tires anyways so that cushioned the blow a little but not much. I reminded Roderick that I had to be at work at 9:45 and it was 8:57... In the most serious manner, he said, "You are about to witness something you probably didn't expect to see today... I'm about to work." (We all laughed about it). I'm not going to say I doubted him but if I was late to work, I was going to be indescribably irritated about it. I'm hanging out and after a little bit, I see my car being backed out of the bay Roderick pulled it into. I looked at my phone; 9.16. Surely he wasn't done.. right? WRONG. He pulls my car up to me and tell me he's done. He quickly let me know my purchase entitled me to a free alignment but that would take 20 minutes so he gave me a certificate so I can COME BACK LATER. I made it to work with two minutes to spare. I still don't know how I feel right now. Not only did Roderick deliver great customer service (like they normally do at this location) but he literally went above and beyond for me. Like so far beyond, I can't even see it anymore. I have friends who wouldn't go that far out of their way for me (sad, I know). I'm truly baffled and amazed. It wasn't until I got on here to write to you all that I saw that he is the general manager of the Hwy 100 location. I can definitely see why. I went from having an alright morning, to wanting to crawl in a hole and die, to feeling awesome about spending a small, unplanned fortune. Thank you for taking the time to read this. They hav stayed connected to me as a customer checked my tire pressure rotated my tires, etc. I'm a senior citizen and this means a lot to me. Arrived for scheduled appointment and waited 25 minutes before some could talk with me. That was because one of the tire managers stayed in the back the entire time. Left the other tire manager alone in the front. Finally seen and have to do everything I had done over the phone again. I am then told they cannot do the alignment because the alignment rack went down earlier in the day. The wheel alignment was the reason tires were needed and had already told him the car must be aligned. Appeared that no one was there to do the alignment. Left and went to firestone. read more

This store is "awesome". The staff is beyond great, they do great work. They give me good solid info about my car. They don't try to sell me anything that I don't need. And.... they even save me money by telling me that I don't need something when I don't. They treat me with kindness and respect. I've been using them for the past few years. And I don't trust anyone with my car except them. My personal fav. is Sam who I always ask for to work on my car. Since the first time he worked on my car and said I didn't need a $1200 brake job that another repair shop said that I did. He fixed it with a $60 part. OMG!!! Really........ I could have cried. I've been to this location 3 times now, every time had an upsale that I wasn't completely ok with but it wasn't all clear until after it was all said and done. They skimped out of the free allignment, which is common apparently. They also don't seem to understand the concept of leaving an appropriate spare tire for the vehicle even when asked to. My tires were put back on with more torque than any normal vechile should have - more appropriate for a tractor trailer. They also didn't clean off the wheel hub before putting one of the tires on and I ended up with really bad vibration on the last vehicle that I had to remedy myself. I'll be heading to Firestone from here on out, I don't even want these clowns to do any tire balancing on these "warrantied" tires, just not bothering with them again. read more

i have been a long time customer of this location almost from the day it opened. The service has always been exceptional. But a recent incident has me troubled. My son's car had a flat tire. I screw right through the tread. Of course I went to Tire Discounters to get it fixed. They did the repair and there was no charge. Another great experience, I thought. The next morning, the tire was flat again. I was annoyed but they had done the repair for free, I didn't feel that I could complain too loudly because of the free repair. I returned the car for another repair. I even joked with the technician "It is going to last more than a day isn't it?" His reply was "I hope so." The tire was repaired again and the car was returned to me. No reason was given for the failure of the tire (ex. another nail or screw) This morning my son called me saying "you won't believe this". yep, flat again. I called the store and was invited to bring the car back again. I was also given a lot of excuses of how this can happen. Here is a customer service tip. I don't want excuses. How about, "I'm sorry that happened. We'll do everything we can to make sure that it doesn't happen again." If I had been told, we found another object in the tire on the previous occasion I would understand, but no explanation at all was given for the second flat. I am concerned that there has been a change in many staff there and the store is just not performing to its previous quality. I hope that is not true. I have enjoyed being a loyal customer. But i do have limits. This is the last chance to make it right. I will report back on how things go. Hopefully a higher star rating is in the future. UPDATE: 6/8/16 My son took the car back once again and was treated well by the desk person. He was told a new tire was needed. This was noticed the first time a repair was attempted. He said the technician wanted to try it to see if it would work and save me some money. I appreciate this very much. But when it did not I should have been told the second time, "We tried but it didn't work, you'll need a new tire." They didn't, opting to attempt a repair they knew had additional problems. This is worrisome. Now they know it is not holding air but they are still releasing it to us to drive on. A potential danger. I appreciate the sales associate on trip three finally filling us in on what was going on. As for the comment on this post from Tire Discounters, they have yet to reach out to me though I supplied my info to them and a call to the Regional Manager Steven Stamey has not been returned. I was impressed they got on the yelp review so quickly but worry not that was just for show for other readers. Stay tuned... UPDATE: 6/9/16 Just spoke with Regional Manager Steven Stamey who couldn't have been more accommodating. After explaining the situation he agreed completely that things were not handled correctly. I was correct in my assumption that management at the store had changed. It shows. I did not get the same feeling of quality as I have in the past. When its obvious to the customer then you've got a problem and he was very interested in addressing it. I am quite sure I will return to this store in the future (but I think for this tire I will probably go somewhere else). I just don't have a confidence level in the staff at his time. It's sad that I had to be a squeaky wheel to get the grease but above the store level they showed a lot of caring when presented with a problem and extremely willing to correct it. I gave these folks a stellar review last year & now I just have to say it again..."they are fabulous!" Today I took my car in because it was rattling & bouncing after replacing shocks & struts a few months ago. Well, these guys could have told me anything, because they chose to be honest. Michael told me that a part they had used on my car was defective & would replaced free of charge. Michael & Anthony you are awesome young men & I thank you & all the technicians working with you! My wife's tire had gone flat while at work. She teaches at a nearby school and was able to fill it with air at a gas station and limp it over there. It was nearing their closing time, but the guys at TD happily worked her into the schedule. They repaired the flat and got her back on the road that evening... no charge! Now, I know lots of places will repair tires for free, especially if you bought the tires there, but is it just a way to bait/switch you into buying more tires? Not at TD... this place is the real deal. I can trust these guys that they won't scam me. I have four vehicles and I give them all of my tire and brake business. Wouldn't think of going anywhere else. read more
