My frail, 84 year old, terminally ill mom had a broken part on her walker and asked me to drive her to Tires Plus. I argued with my mom the whole way there, insisting that they don't fix walkers and to please let me take her to a medical supply store, but she insisted. When we walked in Tires Plus, Tammy Brown came out from behind the counter, pulled a chair in the middle of the store and helped my mom sit down. My mom is hard of hearing and she has a heavy accent - she's hard to understand. Tammy knelt down in front of my mom and examined the walker, making sure to speak facing my mom so she could understand. And five minutes later, the walker was completely fixed, for free. Tammy was so sweet to my mom, it literally made me cry. I know the car service industry is fraught with dishonesty - the folks at Tires Plus on Johnson Ferry are kind, caring and honest. I have no doubt they handle their business dealings with the same integrity, thoughtfulness and humanity that was shown to my mom. Folks are always looking for that elusive local, trust-worthy shop to take their vehicle for tune ups and repairs. That place where they know you by name and treat you like a member of their family. I requested an oil change from them and was told that the service could not be completed due to threading coming from my oil pan. This service would have costed me at minimum $2,000 was the quote that was given to me. I asked to receive pictures of what they are referring to in order to get a second opinion and to see what was going on. I received an initial service inspection from them with photos of my car but none of the photos contained that of the bolt, just general wear and tear on my car plus my air filter. This service started & photos were timed to have started around 3 pm. On their initial call to me at 3:30 pm they left me on hold for 30 minutes. We requested the pictures of the threading coming from my oil pan and they said they would send them over, however, we did not even receive these pictures until 5:30 pm of which we had to call them repeatedly for over 2 hours where a different time frame was given each time. The pictures of my oil pan/bolt were not taken until after 5 pm meaning they had to take the bolt out once again to take pictures of the "threading" they supposedly saw since they denied me service. They even stated in the video attached to the email that they did not know what they were looking at and when this was brought to their attention they said it either "fell off" or must have gotten pushed back in. I would definitely not go here if you want people who know what they are doing to work on your car. Such a scam. I was able to take my car elsewhere for an oil change where they said everything looked completely fine. read more

Out of town traveling 10 days later alignment job so bad destroyed tires. Maybe BRIDGESTONE tires are also problem. I can't even get to a tires plus. Took photos videos at a small town tire shop. Let me start by saying at this moment my car is being held hostage at Tires Plus on Johnson Ferry. Yesterday, While driving up Johnson Ferry my low pressure light came on and I pulled Over to the closest tire place which was Tires Plus. They looked at the tire which at this point was almost flat. I knew I had a warranty on the tire that I purchased from Discount Tire. I asked Tires Plus to put on the spare and I would take it up to Discount Tires. They did and I paid them for the labor. I did notice that not only did they use the air compressor to tighten the lugs but also used a hand wrench which I thought was strange. When I arrived at discount tires, they said the lugs were on so tight they could not remove them without damaging the axel. Within the hour I was back at Tires Plus. This time they said that because I drove to another tire store that they would take NO responsibility and I would have to pay $500 for a new hub! To make matters worse they would not let us take our car because it is NOW a safety hazard as the wheel could fall off. We are now going to have to pay to have the car towed and repaired! if my car was unsafe, why did they let me drive away in the first place!!!!!! read more

This was previously a five star review, noting the fantastic people that worked in this location. Updating this review based on today's experience. I've been coming here for three years and today was a complete customer service fail. I made an appointment on Tuesday to have my car serviced Friday morning. I drop the car off Thursday night and put the key in the lock box as instructed. I called mid morning to check on the status and no one answer the phone. I walked a mile and a half in this heat to get a status report of my car. When I arrived I noticed my car had not even been moved out of the parking lot. When I went inside to ask about the status, they said we don't have your key. I said it's in the lock box. The staff today didn't know where the lockbox was. It then took them 10 minutes to find the key to open the lock box. They acknowledged I had an appointment, but they didn't put two into together of a car in the parking lot plus an appointment . This was a complete waste of my time and energy and I have no reason to return to this location. read more

This was my second time visiting this location in a month and I would NOT recommend. At my first visit I witnessed the customer before me have to pull back in because improper securing of work down under the car. I then received a tire change to only come back 2 miles later because not enough air was in my tire. But yet I still came back for another tire placement and staff was unable to accommodate my emergency after a day of calling to make sure they had my tire. I only needed the tire put on the rim. I waited two hours and twenty minutes to have my oil changed. When they told me that my car was ready, I discovered that they used regular oil for my oil change. My hybrid car has to have synthetic oil for an oil change. I have absolutely no idea how they did not know this. They had to drain the oil out of my car, and replace it with synthetic oil. I was there for a total of two hours and 20 minutes.. I was also told that my tires would be rotated for free with this oil change. That never happened. There's also supposed to be a 19 point inspection that is done for free. That also did not happen because one of my front headlights is out. I actually did not go to this place to get new tires or have my tires repaired. I visited this location because I was persuaded by the coupon in the paper I found for an oil change. The guys here are actually really good at what they do. Their customer service skills, as far as being friendly and helpful are concerned, were excellent. They did try to persuade me into buying things for my car that I did not need (eg: an air filter), but through my experiences I am aware that it is pretty normal for any tire, oil change or repair shop to ask that question every time you pay them a visit. As far as the actual quality of the service is concerned, I was fairly pleased. It took them about 35 minutes to change my oil, which is remarkable compared to the wait time I endured with other companies. My car also seems to be running much smoother than it did before I brought in in to Tires Plus. My instincts tell me this is a good thing. read more

Hey there, I would recommend this tires plus to anyone for any service they offer, I've been going here for years and they always work timely and do quality work for all kinds of jobs. Today put the cherry on top though. I am a prideful man but I'll admit I was wrong in what I thought was wrong with my car this time (I thought I needed a new exhaust system) but the helpful men at tires plus helped me figure out what was wrong. I believe that the $22 front to back check is a chance to gouge the customer. Have purchased my tires here for well over a decade and always ask for the lifetime balance and rotation. Bought tires in 2/2022 and paid $13/tire for rotation. Brought the car back in 10/2022 for rotation and balance which they did at no charge. I just brought the car in for balance and rotation on 3/1/2023 and was charged over $70. They said I never paid for the lifetime balance when I purchased the tires, just the new tire balance. So instead of charging me an additional 4 per tire for the lifetime balance I had to pay the full 17/tire. I won't be using the again Mavis tire is right next door so just as convenient! read more

We've been going here for probably 8 or 9 years and I feel bad for not ever writing a review. We've had great service from Tru, Tammy, a tall slender black gentleman that works in the actual service area that I never got the name of, the new manager and a few guys at the front desk. We've dealt with Tru the most and while we know he finally got a much deserved promotion at another location, he was always so helpful. We've had an older model Honda Odyssey, an Accord we no longer own and a 2nd newer Odyssey and they have always been fair and recommended what we need vs what they want to sell. There have been times when they say something is going bad on our 175k honda but just to keep an eye on it. I actually got my husband to stop going to Costco after having been to this location. The Sandy Plains location the one time we called on accident was incredibly rude so I wouldn't go there but the Johnson Ferry staff has always been great! read more

I've bought tires in the past from this location and had a couple of oil changes done previously. I usually take the sales tactics with a grain of salt because of the type of company this is (it's kind of their thing). The management has been friendly and I hadn't ever encountered any problems with the work completed. Today I dropped my car off at about 2:50pm and was told by Tammy that there was a wait because there were two people in front of me. I had someone pick me up instead of waiting in person. After 2 hours and 40 minutes, I hadn't heard anything so I called to check in. They said my car was the next one in. I had someone drive me back after another hour had passed thinking my car would surely be ready. Imagine my surprise when I saw it still parked in the same spot! I waited inside at the counter for another 15 minutes (no one was to be found). After a while Amanda came back in from the shop and told me that my car hadn't been started yet. It was now 15 minutes before closing time, and my car had been with them for just a few minutes shy of 4 hours. She didn't seem concerned about the timing, so I just asked to have my keys back. A guy named Todd Neill was behind the counter and was very rude when i asked him to put my two best tires on the rear of my car and two bew ones on the front as i always do. He lied to me claiming i had better control on the car if a blowout happened. When i was addiment about my request he refused to honor it. We are taking our business elswhere. And so should you. Been here a few times in the past to have tires mounted. My niece called us while on vacation to tell us that the rear tire had come off the Tundra and she was stuck on Johnson Ferry Road. We called some friends, who came out help her in addition to some passer by's and a police officer who called a tow truck. I had the truck towed to the first place I could think of that was near. My regular Toyota shop is a bit far a way but trusted. I called Tires Plus and let them know that I authorized anything up to $1000 in repair, thinking this would cover just about anything that could happen on a 18 year old pick up truck. I got a call from Tires Plus telling me "The spindle nut is ground off" and that it would be $2900 to replace the entire rear end. After a few more questions I got off the line and sat to thinking. The truck has no hubcaps and its pretty obvious there is no spindle nut. Came back from vacation and I called back the shop and said thank you, I am going to have it towed home. Today I managed to get the driveway cleared from some yard work and finally took a look at what was going on. There was a small scratch on the drum and the dust shield took all the damage. No damage to the brakes at all. There is one broken stud and after measuring run out on the axle hub, there is no need to replace it. I'm not sure what kind of diagnosis led to a $2900 quote, but I'd recommend not using this shop under any condition. read more

One, though highly rated, was several hundred dollars cheaper than the others and she gasped when she saw the price. She is definitely on the customer's side. Called to make an appt less than an hour and half out. Was helped by Amanda, who ordered my tires same day, right on the spot. Dropped off my car and left to go eat lunch and run errands. They called me couple times while I was away to give me updates on time, etc. While putting on my tires, they noticed a lugnut was cross-threaded. In trying to fix it for me (so not to send me out with one missing, which would be unsafe) they broke the piece that held the lugnuts in place. They called me immediately, invited me back to the shop, contacted a car rental service who was there waiting on me with a car ready to go when I got back and took care of everything without me having to even lift a finger. I need the car option that day because I had appts for work that I had to be at. They were courteous and polite and fixed the damage at no extra cost in a timely manner. Very impressed. My disabled mother needed her car aligned so that her care givers could continue to drive it. After Tires Plus had the car for three days and $414 later, I was able to retrieve the car - and it was worse than when we brought it in. My brother now got involved and they told him he'd have to spend ~2K to have the car fixed. Fortunately my brother is in the car business and thought the recommendation was not one that we should follow. He took the car to another place and ~$100 later, we were able to get the car fixed and it's been driving perfectly for a month now. No way we'll ever go back. read more

A few weeks ago, Tires Plus replaced my ECT sensor (coolant sensor). Shortly thereafter, I had some major stuttering issues with my starter, as well as weird idling issues causing my car to "rev" up on it's own while in park or while my foot is firmly on the brake. I didn't have time to go to Tires Plus so I went to a nearby Pep Boys 2 days ago to have them take a look. They were unable to diagnose and referred me to a GM dealership to be certain that my car would be diagnosed properly. I went and discovered that since Tires Plus used an after market sensor, (as most auto shops would), the sensor was causing issues with my wiring harness , thus, shorting out the other sensors in my car. This resulted in my car responding erratically. I was also told that my throttle body was super clogged and needed to be cleaned. After speaking with Tires Plus about the issue, they agreed to replace the ECT sensor with a dealership part FREE OF CHARGE and (to my surprise) they did the throttle body work for free, as well. After 4 Lyft rides of running back and forth between the dealership, my job and Tires Plus, I was happy to know that they took the time to squeeze me in and complete the work in one day, at no cost. My husband (who also goes to Tires Plus on a regular basis) and I will definitely patronize Tires Plus, moving forward. read more

As a woman, it's hard to find pure genuine help from auto care shops because a lot of these places try to take advantage of you or try to rip you off (or sell you unnecessary things) because they assume you don't know as much as them. Well, I never ever feel this way when I get help from these guys. They've helped me twice. Yes, I am a helpless woman when it comes to tire or car trouble- but they've never ever made me feel this way. In fact, they didn't even charge me the last time I went in. I was driving around w/ 50 psi in my 2 front tires and I didn't even know it. It was only supposed to be at 30 psi. I was wondering why my check tire pressure lights kept coming on. Thank goodness I took it in. They fixed it up in 5 minutes, explained to me what happened and I was on my way. I had an appointment set at 3pm and they didn't take me until an hour later. I had a tire rotation done on my car and they placed my wheels on incorrectly! When I drive my tires now shake as if they are about to fall off. I immediately went back. In addition, a customer before me had been sitting in the shop for 3 hours, then they finally told her they don't have the parts for her car. I'm extremely disappointed and rather irritated. They told me that it was not their fault that the tires are shaking and making sounds but rather it is something else (which they didn't go in depth to explain)...that it just happened to "be a coincidence that my tires are having issues now".
