This is probably the first and only shop I've ever seen call the police on someone just because…read morethey were justifiably upset over hearing bad/random news about their car. Instead of being somewhat reasonable they decide to call the police because the customer wanted to take their car somewhere else to be looked at (keep in mind the car was driven to the shop just fine) but apparently the shop broke something which made the car unusable. They were essentially forcing the customer to pay for them to fix the problem that they caused and got upset when the customer declined. Yes this was a racially charged escalation and it's sad that people still do weird stuff like this instead of being half decent. I personally won't be doing business with this place and I would HIGHLY encourage others to do the same ESPECIALLY if you're black.

It seemed like a minor scrape, so we continued to Mike's. The damage was a bit worse than a mere scrape, so I asked Mandy, Mike's office person, if she had a bandaid. She took one look and got out the big first aid kit. She cleaned and bandaged the wound and urged me to visit urgent care on my way home. That is service far above the expected, and just shows the caliber of people associated with Mike Smith Firestone. Mike has even fit in emergency service on the car of a friend who was visiting from another state, making her car safe to drive home. Many years ago my car was leaking oil in the parking lot at work after an early morning oil change. Mike himself drove to my place of work and fixed it on the spot. My husband did his homework before buying tires for my vintage car. The tires that had been on the…read morevehicle were close to but not the same size as the original tires. This lead to my speedometer not reading accurately and the tires getting some rub. After determining the correct size my husband decided he really wanted Firestone tires. Our local tire shop doesn't carry Firestone so we opted to try Michel Tires Plus in Louisville. The process went quite smooth. My husband ordered the tires and set an appointment for the following week to have the tires installed and balanced. The business also does an inspection at the same time for brake wear and several other mechanical functions. On the day we dropped the car off the tire shop kept in touch with a slight delay in when the vehicle would be ready. (Only about an hour later than had been originally indicated). We are happy as can be with the new tires and how the car drives. We also were happy with the price and the savings we got by getting their charge card. I would have given the business five stars but they indicated we would be needing a new battery in the near future. Based on that information my husband ordered a battery from an auto shop and then did some checking. It turns out we didn't need a battery at all so my husband had to cancel the battery he had ordered. Although you only need so many tires I can imagine that we would give Michel Tires Plus repeat business.

Diagnostics to figure out which sensors have failed is $107.50. At Discount Tire, they isolated the bad sensor at no charge and replaced it for under $80. Do the math. Sensors typically last 6 years. Monday morning shortly after 7:00 a.m. I called Wildt and asked if they would repair my tire. In a very courteous manner the gentleman who answered my call stated that if I brought in in then it would be repaired and ready for me to return between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Upon arrival, the tire was taken -- my information given and that was it. At 10:45 I returned to the station. I was shown what was removed from the tire and presented with the cost of the service. The repaired tire was installed on my vehicle, the spare and all components carefully placed in required positions. The gentlemen treated me with dignity and respect along with what I considered to be a fair charge for such a valuable service. All of this also took place in over 90 degree heat. So based on this one service I will not hesitate to return when my vehicle needs future service.
