I went in for transmission fluid change earlier in February in my Toyota Camry 2018. I bought OEM Toyota transmission fluid and asked Joe to help do drain and fill.The drain and fill was completed. After that there was a rough driving issues started. I went back to show my car to joe and he drove the car he told me he don't see any issues. I wanted him to check transmission fluid port on if there is low transmission fluid he didn't agree and told me I might be overthinking. I went to different mechanic in April and he checked. I paid $100 to reopen the port for transmission fluid and what we saw was no fluid came out from the primary port. He added 0.5 quarters left. The issues I have had for rough idle and need to have higher RPM on slope went away completely.According to him you have to keep the car running when you drain the fluid and you need to have it at the right temperature he said the drain and fill wasn't done correctly that's why there was still room for fluid. The viscosity of the fluid makes a difference in how much you can fill and drain. He double checked for leakage and there were no leaks either. When I went to joe and asked about don't you have to keep car warm to see if temperature is right? He said you only do it when there is a leak. I don't think Joe knew enough about mechanics of New car. I wasn't overthinking when I went to ask Joe for help and asked to recheck the transmission fluid. I paid $260 for labor only( $160 to Joe and $100 to another mechanic) for same job. It's really absurd. Overall this could have damaged my transmission. I think for future the customer advise should be taken seriously. I know my car well so I know when it's not acting good. I have been driving it from 10 years.

After my mandatory one year of disappointing services at a Van Nuys Blvd Dealership where I purchased my car, I was looking for a more trustworthy, fairly priced and meticulously knowledgeable Mechanic that was nearby. The Yelp reviews were on point, and so far I've had very good experiences here; taking my Jeep Grand Cherokee for a variety of maintenance - oil changes, services and repairs. Ralph has been available to take care of any issue when I've just dropped in. I took these pix in my visit today as I needed a cracked plastic seat panel changed out. Ralph and his talented Mechanics have taken care of my car and I highly recommend them.

When my car had to be worked on for a couple of hours, Ara the owner offered to personally give me a ride home since I'm a local - I honestly can say no one has ever offered to go above and beyond like that from any other garage I've been to! The prices are fair and much cheaper than going to a dealership, but the quality of service provided by Castle Automotive is even better. I was able to temporarily make it disappear to pass the smog test a couple years ago, but it came back on. Last year I had to pass the smog test again, but couldn't make it disappear this time around. I first took it to another mechanic who didn't have troubleshooting machines and told me we had to do the process of elimination thing, starting with changing the air filter, then fuel filter, then a few other things that took over three weeks and over three hundred dollars worth of parts and repairs. Still, the check engine light came on. That's when I turned to Yelp and found Ara(the owner) at Castle Automotive. I spoke with him on the phone and he told me to bring it in and he could troubleshoot with the proper machines and pretty much pinpoint the problem. I brought it in and within an hour and half he told me that he was certain in was one specific sensor. The total cost was less than what I paid the other mechanic that took three weeks with no results. He told me to drive it over the weekend then stop in afterwards and he'll check it one last time to give the go ahead to take the smog test. I picked up my car, drove it around for 60 miles, then swung by his place, they checked it and gave the okay to take the smog test. I drove across the street, took the smog test and passed! It has been almost a year later and no check engine light! Recently, I had another issue with my car and drove it there and he pointed to the exact problem and said I could do it myself at home to save money. I told him that I wanted them (the pros) to do it and to add an oil change while we're at it! I am sooooo happy to have a local honest and trustworthy mechanic in my neighborhood. I'm super grateful that I found Ara at Castle Automotive. I have recommended them to friends and family and highly recommend for all you Yelpers to check them out as well. You'll be happy you did!

My car (2019 Audi Q5) suddenly lost a lot of power while I was driving home (but still 30 miles away) so I was able to get it back home but had no clue as to why it was kind of doggin' it and I couldn't go more that 50 mph on freeway and between warning lights and the general understanding of how much car repair costs, I figured this could be $300 to $2000. Matt tells me they want to do a "smoke test"... $150 so I'm thinking, OK, smoke test then $1,000 to repair whatever issue they find. Nope. Smoke test showed a part adjacent to the turbocharger was loose so they tightened it up. Who gets out of a car repair shop for $150? Anyway... this isn't a HUGE shop with 8 bay and 12 mechanics but it's your reliable corner mechanic that has nice people, transparent communications and a clean shop. And it's the only place I'm going for the foreseeable future.

It's one of the best decisions I have made this year. Will was able to come out with a day or so and run a diagnostics check, quickly locating the issue and showing me the results. He explained to me what the issue was, discussed options, gave me a full quote and a price - highly competitive. With me agreeing to what needed to be done, he ordered the part (Saturday) and came back the next day (Sunday) to install it. Incredibly helpful and so polite, he showed me the new part, walked me through what he was going to do and afterward even showed me the part he removed and explained the wear and why it was actually perfect timing. Within hours I was up and running again, good as new. I have NEVER had service like this from a dealership in all my years of being a car owner and driver (and that's several decades). Will also flagged other things that I needed to be aware of (including needing an oil change - which I will be getting him to come and do) but at no point pushed for me to do them there and then - zero pressure, just guidance. He repeatedly asked if I had any questions and was keen for me to understand what was happening and why - superb! He even cleared up the work area after he'd finished. Flawless. Aside from the convenience and Will just being an incredibly nice guy, his attention to detail and service are second to none. Friendly and knowledgable, he works hard to make sure you understand what he's doing, and is professional and polite at every step along the way.
