Had the good fortune of having a server who was also a cook, so discussing the pros and cons of the various dishes and preparations was a rare treat. Great food and great service! This was my favorite meal while we were in Cape May. The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated and looks clean and modernized. Our party of four adults and one baby were seated at a larger, round table in the back part of the restaurant. The server greeted us right away and opened our wine for us then told us the specials. We started with the Clams and Chorizo, Arancini Balls, and Curry Shrimp. All were amazing but I wish the curry shrimp came as an entree it was that good. I got the Pescatore special with spicy marinara as my entree which was mussels, shrimp, clams and scallops over linguine. The husband and father got the Peppered Shrimp and Crab Cake and my mom got the seafood risotto. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly! During dinner, my baby wasn't into eating the food that I brought for her so I asked if they had something for her. She brought out strawberries which was perfect but I felt bad for whoever was washing the linens for our table! For dessert my husband and I split the Profiteroles. They were so freaking good! Wow! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The food, the atmosphere and the service were exceptional. I was in cape May for vacation this memorial weekend and happened to make a reservation at Tisha's. We were so pleased with our dinner, we tried to make another reservation the next night. I had the halibut and crab dish and my mom had the seafood risotto. Both were so great that we are still talking about it! We finished off with the flourless cake, and that was also to die for! Went out with my wife for lunch while the grandparents took care of the kid. This was actually the first place we've eaten out at since Covid hit so I went searching for outdoor dining at a decent place that served lunch, many other places I had planned for only had dinner options so it was great to find Tisha's. I called the day before and was able to nab an 1130 reservation but when we got there realized it wasn't necessary as it wasn't too busy but by 12 it was getting busier. We were able to get a nice seat in the back and even though it was our first dine out experience we felt very comfortable. I ordered the crabcake sandwich while my wife ordered the tacos. Everything was great, service was great as well, when I went to the restroom a lady didn't have her mask on and was asked nicely by the staff to put one on, kudos for that. Christmas weekend we made a reservation 10 days ago & they accepted. 20 minutes before dinner time we get a call from the host saying that our table is outside. It's 11° out and you would think they would have an enclosed space if they expect us to sit outside. Well... there wasn't.. crazy winds, outdoor heaters that barely worked & winds that literally were knocking glasses OFF THE TABLE. Like.. seriously? How do you FUCKING EXPECT US TO SIT OUTSIDE IN THIS WITH 20 MINUTES NOTICE? The young brunette host was crazy nasty too. Never in my life have I had someone talk to me like she did. I don't know who raised her to treat people like that... she must have been the owners daughter, I wanted to say "would you sit outside in this" ??? WE MADE A RESERVATION MORE THEN A WEEK AGO. Great spot for a Cape May date night. Made a reservation a week before for a Friday night. So glad we went with 5:45 because by the time we finished at 6:45 the place was totally packed. Cute seating out on the back patio with greenery that makes you forget you're eating next to a parking lot. This was your first visit to Tisha's- it's been on our "to-do" list for a few years. We were seated outside as our reservation request stated. The back patio is really nice and had some plants which helps to keep it feeling a bit more private. We were greeted fairly promptly by our server who was personable and pleasant. The only unfortunate thing that happened was that it took 20 minutes to get water. Bread service came and went and my husbands coke was delivered all before we got water. My husband has the restaurant week menu which consisted of an ahi tuna appetizer, the petit filet with mushrooms, goat cheese, mashed potatoes and green beans, and a lemon pound cake dessert with berries. All good. I did expect the tuna to be a bit more well cut? It seems a little shredded? Still tasty. The filet was excellently cooked and the combination of flavors was wonderful. I had the New England clam chowder and the Thai salmon and shrimp. Both very good also! We will definitely be making Tisha's a recurring Cape May stop on our annual trip. read more

Bathrooms were clean, spacious, and tidy. Enjoyed my time in there. Mussels in red sauce, filet, and the halibut from the specials menu were all delicious. Service was great. The Seafood Risotto was so flavorful, great portion... still dreaming about it. Hubby had the Zuppa di Pesce over linguini(one of their daily specials) came in red or white sauce. My husband had the seafood risotto that he enjoyed and I had a pasta dish that was modified to be vegetarian...it was okay, but I wasn't too pleased to learn that I was still charged for the seafood that was omitted! Usually restaurants will offer to add extra veggies as a substitution. For instance, the mushrooms and spinach that were in my husband's dish would have been a very nice addition to my pasta to help make it seem less blah. So far, this is the first restaurant we have been to in Cape May that didn't have a single vegetarian entrée on the menu. We hadn't planned to eat there, but the restaurant we were originally going to ended up not being open. It's still the pre-season here, so finding open restaurants has been a bit hit or miss. We have eaten at Tisha's on every one of our visits to Cape May, but I am new to vegetarianism and had not noticed their lack of options. Service and atmosphere is nice, but gets uncomfortably loud when full. They allow you to bring your own wine, but also have a selection of local wines to choose from. If you are particular about wine or expense, I recommend bringing your own. read more

My family and I have eaten at Tisha's many times, and I am finally getting around to writing a review. Tisha's is a delicious spot for a nice meal close to the beach. I had the house salad and the seafood risotto, and both were very tasty and nicely plated as well. I had the tiramisu for dessert, and it was the best tiramisu I have ever eaten! It was very pretty and huge, and I wish now that I had taken a picture. The cake was very light and the mascarpone cheese was so thick and fluffy. Seven of us went to dinner here last night and every single one of us left completely satisfied and raving about the food. I had the filet au poivre. It was cooked perfectly and literally melted in your mouth. My husband had the Thai Salmon which was delicious and perfectly spiced. It started in summer of 2015 when they decided to cut out the house salad and intermezzo sorbet. Started to seem like any other restaurant on the cape. This year it's more of the same old menu with little or no changes. The pastry chef (Brooke) moved on few years back as well and took the amazing deserts with her. Food was overall delicious. Fried oysters were crispy but over fried to be honest. Seafood risotto was pretty good but runny and some of risottos were uncooked. Crab cake was good but I definitely prefer crab cake from Washington inn. Desert was decent but bread was very hard. The receptionist is not friendly at all although she wasn't rude per se. the waitress was serving too many people and didn't lighten up until much later when there was more capacity. When we first had lunch here a few years ago I thought it was a little pricey and pretentious. When my wife suggested we go back this year for dinner I decided to suck it up, figuring I'd get my way on dinner the next day. I'm glad I did because I wound up having a fantastic meal. I started with the appetizer special - Tuna Poke. It was generous enough to share, but since my wife doesn't care for raw tuna I was able to enjoy it all myself. She had a very generous Caesar salad, which she needed my help to finish. For my main course I had the crab cake with shrimp, which was also covered in lump crab meat. The crab cake was well seasoned with a perfectly crispy crust. Lots of crab inside and even more outside. Served over mashed potatoes and spinach. My wife has shrimp and scallops over pasta with oil and garlic. They let her leave out the muscles and clams, which she doesn't care for. She raved about the scallops. (And let me try part of one.) For desert we got the profiteroles. Cream puffs filled with vanilla bean ice cream and frizzed with homemade chocolate sauce. There were two, so it was easy to share. So was it still pricey? Yes, but portions were generous and the food was all excellent. Worth the money. And what I once saw as pretentious now seemed more romantic. read more

We had an amazing meal here Saturday night! Our servers name was Lilly and was so informative and kind! We started off with the arancini balls as an appetizer by her suggestion and they were so good! Crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside. Two come in an order and we're plenty for the two of us. I ordered the "pasta Lauren" which was a special of the night. It was penne vodka with prosciutto, onions and peas in a nice light and creamy vodka sauce with grilled chicken. I never finish my meal because I like to take half home and I couldn't stop myself from eating it all. It was so so good! My fiancé ordered the seafood risotto and it was filled with seafood! I don't eat seafood but he said it was an amazing dish too! Tisha's is a BYOB which makes it great to bring your own nice bottle of wine and not pay 3x the amount for a cheaper bottle. Wow! A shout out to Catherine who took great care of us, is a long-term employee (a sign of a good restaurant), knew the menu, and provided recommendations. This small business produces a level of food and service better than big-city restaurants, all in a quaint shore community surrounded by small special shops. The mushroom risotto was so packed with flavor, I wanted to return for take-out (which really isn't offered during the busy summer months), but call ahead to see if it's available. That was followed by the halibut special. Again, the fish was cooked to perfection and the entire dish was packed with flavor. Wine from the local Cape May Winery complimented the meal, but this restaurant is a BYOB, so bring you favorite bottle or dinner cocktail if you prefer. Ended this culinary delight with a smooth cappuccino and profiteroles. I cannot wait to return. Well done! read more

4 stars for being above average but nothing amazing. I didn't feel any of the food warranted the high price tags and, overall, I feel this place is a little overhyped. My table had the lobster bisque and clam chowder to start, the seafood risotto, short rib bolognese, and the filet au poivre for mains, followed by the bread pudding for dessert. Everything was good! However, nothing we ate really wowed me. The flavors were all pretty standard and familiar. After reading the review from the couple who drove from out of town to eat the short rib bolognese, I was expecting something truly exceptional. Unfortunately, this was not a great experience. The food was too heavy, the waitress was rude and I had a bad shrimp on my entree which I addressed. The waitress insisted that was not possible as they receive fresh seafood daily. Understood, however there is always that off chance a piece a seafood is bad. It's best not to argue with your patrons. After our conversation, the waitress sent out the manager who was very courteous and kind. Our waitress never returned to the table with the check or thank us for dining. She left the manager to finish our experience. The manager was in deed not surprised of our complaint of the waitresses behavior. Very poor for such a long running restaurant which we were excited to try as we visit Cape May several times during the Spring and Summer.
