Had a lovely dinner at Tisha's last night! We brought some wine, which they chilled for us as we walked around, waiting for our table to be ready. We sat in the back outside and had plenty of space. It was a beautiful night and comfortable seating. Our server was friendly and helpful. I had the seafood risotto. It had great flavor and a lot of seafood. After having that, I think it would be hard to get something different next time because it's so good! The other guests I was with had the steak and scallops Sambuca. The steak was given a great review - she gets that every time she goes! The scallops were given a good review too. There were a lot of scallops and it wasn't too creamy. There wasn't a strong Sambuca flavor though and Parmesan cheese would've been a nice touch to offer! The portion sizes were also perfect. Not too little, not too much. We went to Cape May for a fall weekend getaway and were lucky enough to score a reservation. We dined on the outdoor back patio in and even though the restaurant was packed all night we felt like we had our own private area. Service was impeccable and everyone was so attentive and friendly and had great suggestions. The food was amazing with local ingredients and thoughtful flavors. It's BYO but you can purchase a bottle of local wine from them. We brought our small dog to dine with us and let them know in advance so they knew where to seat us (dogs welcome on back patio only which was the best spot anyways). Outdoor space is heated and very cozy even on a cold weekend. Looking forward to a trip back here. read more

We came for dinner on a Friday night. We were a party of four. They were super busy. Highly recommend making reservations in advance and sitting indoors, much nicer. We were sat in a table outside on the back sidewalk by the kitchen. Our chairs were metal and uncomfortable. They should put a cushion in them. This is a BYOB but they sell local Cape May wines by the bottle. We forgot to bring wine and bought the Pinot Grigio. It was good and $34 for the bottle. Food was delicious. Appetizers included polenta board and fried oysters. Our entrees were halibut with crab special, chicken piccata, linguini with shellfish and seafood risotto. All very good and delicious. Dessert was key lime pie and flourless chocolate cake. Overall, nice experience and good food. Our waiter was also very good and friendly. read more

Just a late lunch between winery's tours. The Walk wasn't busy so I checked the rankings of the pubs and such. Tishas came up high marks so in we went. Danny was an excellent waiter. We just wanted burgers but my eye was drawn to the scallops and risotto, man was that ever good. Scallops perfectly seared. Shiitake shrooms and spinach filled out the dish. Excellent! What a pleasant surprise! My boyfriend and I came here in search of a quick lunch in Cape May and ended up eating some of the best food we've had. The New England Clam Chowder was great, totally met the hype. The rice balls were crisp and delicious, sauce and cheese were on point and did not disappoint in the slightest. However, the entrees are really what set Tisha's apart. The Fried Oyster Po' Boy was beautiful, delectable and one of a kind! My boyfriend can't recommend it enough! We totally agree with one of the other reviews. Despite using the Open Table App to make a reservation, the hostess claimed to not have our reservation but agreed to seat us any way. We witnessed the exact same scenario with three other parties as we were seated very close to the hostess. One party was turned away and told to return in an hour as their table was not available. 55 minutes after our order, our dinners finally arrived! No thank you on any return visits to Tisha's. I don't mind my dinner being overpriced if the service is efficient, the food is good, and the people are nice. The food was reasonably good, not great, and Tisha's struck out on being efficient and having nice people. read more

Wow. It is rare for me to offer five stars and there are reasons to take this rating under advisement. The negatives. Inside the restaurant is loud; outside is dark - you will be blinded by cell phone flashlights as diners try to read the menu. The outside chairs are laughablely Edith Ann-ish selected for form not function; park nearby so you can grab a towel, cushion or phone book from your car for a boost. It was a nice try but the burrata special appetizer was good not great - the earthiness of the beets was in competition with the sweet creaminess of the cheese. But the scallop risotto? That was PERFECTION. Perfectly seared sweet scallops and the shiitake mushrooms in the risotto are a gift from heaven. I would go back in a heartbeat - that's a lot for me to commit to in this town. So disappointed with dinner tonight. My wife and I went to dinner to celebrate out wedding anniversary at Tisha's this evening. We've been there before with family numerous times. It's always been great! Lobster bisque was watered down. It lacked the creamy texture and sherry taste that is found in a good lobster bisque. Burrata was the tiniest on a big plate of mostly beets. The arancini wasn't that great and sauce was bitter. The entrees were a disappointment. Not horrible but could have been better. Might have been an off day. Not sure but bummed. The ambiance was very quaint and outdoor seating was the perfect place to have a delicious lunch, I had the Chicken Milanese Sandwich, very good would definitely recommend it as a nice light lunch. Tisha's is by far one of the best restaurants in Cape May. The food is delicious and always presented beautifully. The staff is excellent. The interior is lovely but if you can, ask for an outdoor table on the back patio. You feel like you are in your own little oasis. They always seem to have several types of risotto. The seafood one is particularly delicious. They are a BYOB which is always a nice plus. If you are vacationing in the summer months make sure to make your reservations well in advance. They never seem to be empty. Take a nice walk around Washington Street Mall either before, after or both. It's also very accessible to the free shuttle if you don't want to drive We will come back year after year. read more

Considering this was the place recommended on Yelp, it was sad. We all asked for fries extra crispy...they were barely cooked. The food took forever to get (45 minutes for lunch) and was not hot. The waitress, saw our water glasses empty when she delivered the food and asked if we wanted more water...duh! The ambiance outside was nice and they made that happen. We looked at the menu for this place and were very excited to book a reservation for eight girls that are headed down to Cape May first week of October. We just called and were told very rudely that we could not make a reservation. The person who answered the phone said, "You need to call within 90 days of your reservation, and then hung up." We tried to explain that it is actually only 70+ days out, but that person was so rude that we did not have the opportunity. Sorry for them because we would've been good customers. We are eight women, age 50+ with a lot of money to spend at good restaurants. But we are also old and wise enough to have no tolerance for bad service. read more

Had lunch here yesterday and overall had an ok experience. We had the fried oyster appetizer, classic cheeseburger and grilled salmon po-boy. The oysters were done well, but for $15 you think you would get more than just 4 oysters. The cheeseburger was slightly over cooked, asked for medium rare and got it medium well. It didn't look like a 10oz patty either. The salmon was tasty but the portion too was skimpy and was on a brioche burger bun. Not what I would consider a "po-boy". We were seated outside in the back which sort of felt like we were sitting in the parking lot which made it feel a little less special. Tisha's Restaurant in Cape May is our #1 restaurant regarding fine dining, excellent fresh dishes, beautiful presentation and top notch service. We have yet to find a restaurant in Cape May that matches Tisha's quality. Chef Paul has been serving his customers since 1989 in Cape May. We love everything he makes especially seafood dishes like baked halibut with asparagus and mashed potatoes, tacos with crabmeat and very tasty salsa with fresh greens. The scallops with spinach, mushrooms and linguine were also delicious. His key lime pie was outstanding. We love his style of cooking. It reminds us of a fine chef George Perrier when he was in Philadelphia but for much less. We highly recommend this restaurant to all the foodies out there who enjoy excellent culinary skills and fine quality food that chef Paul makes for his customers. Regarding service - Lori and Danny were our waiters when we visited the restaurant twice in August of 2022. They provided excellent service. They were very friendly and professional. We went here during our annual family Christmas trip and it was AMAZING. It is BYOB which was a huge plus. We ordered the pepper crusted filet and it was the cooked to perfection and flavorful. The seafood risotto was loaded with seafood- shrimp, scallops, clams and it was so fresh. The short rib bolognese was also delicious. Plenty of shredded short rib in a robust red sauce.
