We look forward to eating here every year, but tonight was less than enjoyable. We had to wait 15 minutes for our reservation, and the hostess failed to acknowledge the delay. Our appetizers (lobster bisque, clam chowder and scallops risotto) were amazing. Then we waited for an hour and half for our pan seared halibut. An hour and a half!! It arrived, and while fine, it was overcooked and under seasoned. We turned down the offer a free dessert, and were instead given one of our soups removed from our bill. The hostess made our waitress, who was awesome, address all of this and hid as we left. I can't describe how disappointed we are with the kitchen and the hostess. An annual highlight dining experience became an ok meal with weak leadership, only saved by Isabella's professional experience as a waitress. Disappointing. Do better. read more

After we left Tisha's, I told my husband that my meal here was one of the best meals I've had at a restaurant in a long time. After thinking it over last night, I realized it was one of the best meals I've had dining out EVER. We were with our dog, and they were gracious enough to accommodate us on the back dining area where we felt comfortable with him. They even provided us a doggie water bowl for him! We ordered the arancini appetizer - risotto and mozzarella - and it was outstanding. I noticed about five other people ordering it, as well. The marinara sauce was so good I ordered extra bread to mop it up with. Second course, lobster bisque. Yowza! Creamy, gorgeous soup with giant chunks of lobster. I could eat this every day and not get enough. My entree was the short rib bolognese. The pasta was done to absolute perfection and the shredded short ribs and sauce were unbelievable. The portion size was huge, but I managed to finish it all! I'm not one to order dessert usually, but I ordered the flourless chocolate cake, and again, it was beyond my expectation. Dense but velvety and perfect with the scoop of vanilla ice cream it came with! What a beautiful way to top off an amazing dinner. To top it off, we had the most AMAZING service from Sandy. We chose Tisha's for a very special occasion. As we arrived for our reservation,we where escorted to the backroom. It was nearly empty,but our party was seated by the backdoor. The door opened and closed constantly,waiters and patrons going in and out to the patio. We asked to sit somewhere other than there,this when things started to go downhill.We got bad vibes from all the staff,including the front desk person. It was noticable that all the waiters and bus boy glanced at us repeatedly. They where very put out by this polite and reasonable request. The food:Extremely dark,fried oysters arrived,this item was difficult to eat,extremely crispy oysters sat on a few sad leaves of greenery surrounded by a creamy sauce. Without the sauce the oysters ate like sawdust. This should have been an indication of the terrible cooking happening that evening. The seafood risotto was not risotto and plated in a very unappetizing manner. A pile of seasoned,overcooked rice,was spread underneath shrimp and other seafood.The seafood was plentiful albeit overcooked and rubbery. The special,halibut,was plated in a haphazard,cafeteria style manner. A puddle of rice,next to sauteed spinach,next to a large serving of fish sitting on a lake of something white. Sadly the fish was mushy and unappetizing,the sauce uninspired white goo. This whole meal was not in the least enjoyable.The whole experience felt more like punishment than a special evening. This meal couldn't have been cooked by a chef,it was that aweful. The table next to us also had halibut,theirs was plated in a rather delicate nice way. The message to us was,by asking to sit somewhere else,we made them mad.Thus the inferior food,bad attitude and lackluster plating.It made me think of the saying,if you complain about the food they will spit in it.We complained and got rewarded with the worst meal in many years. Amazing that this supposed fine dining restaurant would put out this kind of bad,extremely overcooked food or shall we say slop. As for the service:Jersey,as all the other waiters we ever had there,was going by the book,doing everything that you expect from a waiter,in a souless,robotic manner. It is the kind of uninspired service you get at a large event,where the waiters are instructed to bring food,but don't interact with the patron much. This has always been infuriating in this establishment. Last night we asked for salt,so she brought salt,but not pepper.That in itself was interesting and a first. We have eaten at Tisha's many times before.What used to be a nice restaurant,a go to,will forever be stricken from our list restaurants to visit while in Cape May. Interestingly enough,Tisha's is not in the list of recommended restaurants that our B&B hands out.Upon arrival we perused said list and commented on it. One of the best dinners I have ever had-top 3. Everything on the menu looked good! The blueberry vanilla goat cheese was unbelievable! I wish there were more pieces of it in the appetizer. The mushroom risotto was one of my mom's favorite/ the scallops were cooked to perfection. I can't talk enough about the food. The pesto sauce on the shrimp and gnocchi was so creamy and flavorful, I couldn't put down my fork. My mom and I also agree- this is one of the best crabcakes we've ever had. We had the best meal we've had in a LONG TIME at Tisha's last night. We had the lobster bisque, burrata and peach salad, scallops special, and chicken Milanese. WOW. Everything was perfect. Tisha's is located right in the Washington Street Mall & it has a cute slightly upscale vibe. We had a reservation for 8, but when we arrived they notified us that they were behind & that they would text us. It didn't bother me too much, we had time to walk around and enjoy the mall. We were seated around 815, and greeted immediately with water & an ice bucket for our white wine. We each ordered an appetizer that were AWESOME. I had the Burrata Salad which was very balanced. The arugula was peppery, the burrata creamy & the beets earthy/sweet. My husband the scallop appetizer, which honestly was the star of our entire meal. The risotto was seasoned perfectly and was so tender, while the scallops were caramelized. It was so good! For dinned I ordered the seafood risotto, which was honestly disappointing in comparison to the scallop appetizer. I wished it had more garlic, but that is just my preference. It was good, not great. My husband ordered the peppered shrimp & crab cakes. He enjoyed it & joined the clean plate club. We did get Tiramisu for dessert (a favorite of mine) & I appreciated the espresso flavor. We had reservations for Tisha's (thanks, OpenTable!) for an early birthday celebration. First, we loved the BYOB and we came prepared thanks to the reviews posted. We didn't know it was Restaurant Week but it was a pleasant surprise! All five of us decided to partake in the RW menu which was a set menu with 4 different appetizers, 4-5 entrees and 3 desserts. For apps, we got the shrimp polenta, burrata salad and calamari. The shrimp polenta was the best of the three but all of them were delicious and large for one person. The calamari was well cooked and had great flavor as did the burrata salad. We would definitely get all 3 of them again. For entrees, we got two strip steaks, two gnocchis with Gorgonzola sauce and the swordfish. Each portion was large and tasty. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The gnocchi dish came with spinach and roasted red peppers which was outstanding. The swordfish was great and got rave reviews. For dessert, we got 2 key lime pies and 3 blueberry pound cakes. The pound cake was just ok but the key lime pie was to die for. Would pass on the blueberry in the future but we would 100% get again and recommend the key lime pie. One star is one too many. This restaurant came recommended by friends. I liked the menu and was looking forward to our dinner, expecting to spend some real money on a fine dining experience. Alas, it was not to be. Our Open Table reservation was for 6:45 PM on 9/17/2025. Due to parking issues we arrived late, but still within the 15 minute grace period. I apologized for the delay, but as a welcome, the hostess read us the riot act instead, just in case we would "arrive late the next time." When I asked if she still had a table available, she responded yes and pointed to a table in front of the door. The other option was in the back. When I asked where in the back, she answered "next to the toilet". At that point my husband decided, he had heard enough and we told her to cancel our reservation and left. No need to say, that we will not be back for this kind of rude treatment. We dined at a restaurant nearby, where the hostess was gracious and welcoming and our patronage was appreciated. read more

Been coming to Tisha's for dinner every time we visit Cape May for the past 4 years! Food has been consistently very good as was last nite 9/9/25. The reason for the 3 stars is the hostess "Linda". I make my reservation at least a month in advance requesting an outside table in the back by the heaters as I do every year and have had no problems until last night! We stopped in in the afternoon to check on our reservation and was told our table was in the outside front tables (no heaters) I requested the back as stated in my reservation and was told they would see what they could do when we arrived for dinner that night ! Well, Linda did nothing and could care less. She just said that's where our table was and could do nothing about it! She was not only willing to try and accommodate us she was down right rude! So Tisha's, get your act together and learn how to treat repeat customers that spend over 300.00 for dinner every time we come. We will go elsewhere there are too many other excellent restaurants in Cape May to deal with being treated rudely! read more

Arguably the best restaurant in Cape May. Food is outstanding, service is impeccable, mood is upscale but relaxed, location is in the center of everything. We started with burrata and heirloom cherry tomatoes and moved on to the Seafood Linguini Pescatore done spicy. It was delicious with clams, mussels, shrimp, and scallops. We also had the Curry Scallops over risotto. Both were perfect. Tisha's is a BYO, but they do offer bottles of Cape May Vineyards wines exclusively. If you plan on having only wine, I'd highly recommend trying a bottle of the Cape May wine offered there. We especially enjoyed the Petite Sirah which was as good as any California wine. And we also felt good about supporting a local winery. Seated at an outside corner table, watching the Cape May tourists pass by, listening to 40's jazz and enjoying a great meal made for a pretty perfect experience. read more

I have visited this Resturant a few times. Overall was ok. My last visit the hostess was not very nice or accommodating . We added 1 person to a table of 4. We called ahead in the afternoon. No one answered but we left a detailed message. When we arrived and explained the hostess refused to seat us. They did not have any extra chairs! We waited an hour for a larger table. We didn't realize it was BYOB but we were able to buy a nice red wine from the restaurant sourced from a nearby NJ vineyard. We love Tisha's! As long as you can get a table and they do have limited hours. The steak, ricotta and flourless chocolate cakes are the standouts for our favorite dishes. Came here with a family group of 8 for celebratory dinner. It is BYOB and several of us did, so we had Chardonnay, champagne and sauv blanc at our disposal. We ate appetizers, and the burrata was notable. Then the mains, and 3 people had fillets, which they loved. A couple had new york strip which they liked also. My choice was Veal Chop, and it was tender, juicy and delicious. The service was terrific and attentive. We ate indoors and the atmosphere was warm and convivial. Such a nice change up from the usual "shore dining". Classy, tablecloth, adult dining. BYOB. Service was excellent. We had the Scallop Risotto app. Scallops were cooked perfectly. The risotto was perfect. Al dente, creamy and fresh. The Aroncini was one of the best I've ever had. Light and crispy outside, cheesy and light on the inside. I did. find the tomato sauce that came with it a little sweet for my taste. Main course was Steak Au Poivre. (Sp?). Done perfectly. Came w Mashed, asparagus and shallot frizzles. We also had the Chicken Milanese. This was not good. Over fried to the point I could barely cut it w steak knife. And very dry. Pounded very think on one side, thick on the other which accounts for uneven cooking. Came w a slice of lemon, arugula and cheese. I would not order again. Lastly the dessert was Flourless Chocolate Cake. Very good. Wish they had left the Raspberry sauce off. All in all a great experience with a new Place. Will be back. read more
