I'm not sure why there are reviews complaining the portions are small. For me the portions are right to their price point. The appetizers are pretty big and good for sharing. I suggest the scallop risotto and sausage polenta. Both very delicious. The Thai salmon was a big portion as was the Pork Milanese. The pork was pounded thin and fried perfectly tops with a fresh arugula salad. The Thai salmon was top with a sweet chili sauce but not overwhelming spicy. I really love this place. I love the fact that you can bring a bottle of wine and they don't charge you a cork fee. We were seated outside which it was nice and it felt very quaint. I decided to go with crab cake for my entrée and it was one of the best crab cakes I had ever had. The flavors were amazing and you could tell they use real crab meat. Dined at Tisha's on a Friday evening in September. We had a 7:30 indoor reservation that we booked 2 months in advance to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant was clearly overbooked and not managing their tables. At 8pm (30 minutes past my reservation) I walked in to find out what was going on, and was rudely greeted by the hostess (I think named Jen) and told there was nothing she could do unless I wanted to sit outside with 50 degree weather and 30mph winds. To top it we saw other tables being seated before us who showed up well after we did.. not sure if it was locals getting preferential treatment or what but not a great experience or first impression of the restaurant. Once we were seated around 8:10, we were offered a free appetizer for the long wait (not sure if that is worth 40 minutes of my time). The food was good - veal Milanese was cooked perfectly and ragout was flavorful. Unfortunately due to this experience we probably won't be back or recommend it to any friends/family. read more

Menu is not extensive and unfortunately they were out of 2 appetizers. We ordered the Lobster Bisque which was a special, the clam chowder, the arancini, the mussels and the fried oysters. I've been a customer at Tisha's for over 10 years; unfortunately, the last 2 years were very disappointing. For instance, we arrived on time, but the hostess tried to seat us adjacent to the front door which was cold and cramped. There were two open tables available and when we rejected the table she reluctantly complied. Considering our reservations were made 4 months ago. you would think that a more suitable table should have been waiting for us. The calamari portion was small and over cooked, but the main course (Veal) was very good. The dessert menu was limited and the coffee at $6.00 a cup was old from the bottom of the pot. We have eaten at the place every-time we visit Cape May NJ. On this last visit we sat outside on the mall or square side very pleased with the sitting on a gorgeous early Saturday evening. The place is perfect not overly big and one of the quintets place to eat in Cape May. We were greeted by out waitress professional (Kat) explained the appetizers specials and two additional dinner options and some other items she liked or explained on the menu. We started with two soups lobster bisque and clam chowder both were perfect. Lobster bisque had pieces of lobster and was not an over heavily broth. Clam chowder was the same way with very fresh clams and perfectly cooked red skin potatoes. Ordered a fried Calamari that was perfect and a dinner entree of Salmon with Shrimp in a Thai Chili sauce perfect. Funny thing is I tend to lend to a whiter style fish but it was the very best Salmon dish I have ever had. The place is one of the best in Cape May try for yourself. read more

We walked into Tisha's with no reservations and got lucky there was a no show as it's typically fully booked. The ambience was warm and inviting amongst some of Cape May's busiest streets. The tables were well spaced to create an ambient environment for a date night or small group dinner. Although it is BYOB, they did offer full bottles of wine from a local winery to complement the food menu. We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer and found it to be flavorful and nicely cooked. One of our guests wasn't a fan of honey mustard, so we got this on the side. I do wish this wasn't as fried, but it's hard to really provide feedback given that the item wasn't ordered as listed. Overall, the dish was enjoyable and the peppers complemented the calamari nicely. Both of our entrees were off-menu specials. The seafood pescatore came with two choices, red/white and mild/spicy. I went with white sauce and mild. This dish was extremely generous on the seafood. Everything was very fresh and mixed well with the linguini. The sauce also made for nice dipping with the table bread following the meal. It was absolutely delicious. The halibut was a nice size and described with mashed potatoes. Our waiter allowed me to substitute the potatoes for basmati rice, which was listed under another item. The service was very accommodating to our requests. The halibut was fresh and came with a tasty cream sauce and jumbo lump crab. Overall, the dish was satisfying and a great portion for the price. We did not stay for dessert as we had plans elsewhere but would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an intimate dinner amongst the hustle and bustle of Cape May. read more

This was a very great spot pre covid and the food and service doesn't disappoint today. The food was amazing and the service awesome. We had to sit outside which very nice with the plants and decor outside. We had the calamari and scallops for appetizer and they were delicious. The scallops were cooked perfectly. For entree's we had the seafood pescatore and the fried pork chops. Both very satisfying. The seafood pescatore's sauce was so rich and light. BYOB so we had a bootle we purchased earlier. The dinner was perfect but we couldn't order dessert because the rain caught us. It was torrential. They had to close the restaurant afterwards because it was just too wet to eat outdoors. Only complaint was the family that sat next to us got their entrees just as the rain came down hard. They were troopers and ate their food in the rain. Soaked!!! Since we were in the middle of a late summer heatwave, we opted for the cool indoor dining room. I was happy to see this was a BYOB since I had a great bottle of homemade wine. What a lovely little restaurant right on the mall! Our service was fantastic, and we lucked out with it being restaurant week! We did make reservations about a month or two in advance. It was pretty busy, even For a Monday. I got the Ahi tuna appetizer, the filet, and the cheesecake. My only complaint, is that the cheesecake was sickeningly sweet. We dined on the outdoor back patio in and even though the restaurant was packed all night we felt like we had our own private area. Service was impeccable and everyone was so attentive and friendly and had great suggestions. The food was amazing with local ingredients and thoughtful flavors. We brought our small dog to dine with us and let them know in advance so they knew where to seat us (dogs welcome on back patio only which was the best spot anyways). It was a beautiful night and comfortable seating. Our server was friendly and helpful. I had the seafood risotto. It had great flavor and a lot of seafood. After having that, I think it would be hard to get something different next time because it's so good! The other guests I was with had the steak and scallops Sambuca. The steak was given a great review - she gets that every time she goes! The scallops were given a good review too. There were a lot of scallops and it wasn't too creamy. There wasn't a strong Sambuca flavor though and Parmesan cheese would've been a nice touch to offer! The portion sizes were also perfect. Not too little, not too much.
