It had been a while since I have visited a TJ Maxx in earnest because I typically thrift at this point in my life and find more value in the items I find in thrift stores then I used to find in TJ Maxx. However, they can still be useful for holiday gifting, especially Things like fragrances and beauty products so we decided to pop in to grab a couple of items for the people on our holiday list this year. This store is a bit larger than the normal format that I am used to visiting as it was connected to a HomeGoods store that you could enter into from within the TJ Maxx. Now one disappointing feature about the fragrance selection is they now lock everything up and include a buzzer mounted on the side of the display case for you to push to have somebody come over and help you with your selection. Obviously, this prevents any real opportunity to smell any of the fragrances or to get any samples, which made figuring out what was available and what the prices were really difficult without calling somebody over. So we opted to forgo getting fragrances from TJ Maxx and shifted to beauty products. As we circled the beauty product section I noted two things. One is it is an entirely female game, guys not invited! Lol and two, the products didn't seem to be categorized in any real specific order or selection making shopping the individual aisles a bit frustrating and more like a treasure hunt versus a targeted destination purchase. That being said, we did find some pretty good deals on several beauty items, including bar soaps for the boys And perfume, lotions and body scrubs for the girls. We spun the block in the clothing sections and some of the men's accessories to grab the twins a couple of additional items, but ultimately, we found the pricing to not necessarily be that much more competitive than what we would find in some of the department stores, especially at this time of the year, so we ended up leaving with several of the beauty items, but not much more. I do think these stores still represent value for the right shopper And by the way, the line in this place was ridiculous. It moved fairly fast and they had probably eight cashiers online, but I definitely wouldn't hit this location thinking you're going to get in and out during any sort of busy holiday season. read more

I like this TJ Maxx as it's a Home goods as well. They have petty much everything you could imagine and are a solid option if you're looking for a gift item, specific home goods, pet stuff or anything in between. The store is pretty massive and definitely stays busy. I don't typically visit for clothing, but they do have a good selection, but I'd suggest being open minded, as it may be hard to find something super particular. Staff was very friendly, I didn't see many around the store, but they have a fully staffed registers, which is definitely needed with how long the line gets. read more

I love the variety of clothing, jewelry, purses and other odds and ends this store has!! Their prices are very reasonable and of good quality. The only issue (which really it isn't), is that sometimes the line to check out can be extremely long. HOWEVER, it moves FAST! So don't be deterred if you see a long line. You'll be out of there in a blink of an eye! read more

I am glad I didn't have as a bad of as experience as other Yelpers- yikes! I've been here a few times, including most recently today. This location is also a HomeGoods which is a good and a bad thing. Came in for HomeGoods offerings and last minute gifts- I found the HG section to be well organized and plentiful in the options. Found everything I c needed and prices were as expected. What is not so great is that TJX and HG share a cash rack and even with 10+ registers lines are always notoriously long and slow. Tonight (a Monday at 7 PM, there were 3 registers open) the service was reasonably fast and friendly, the cashier who checked me out was a joy. The TJ Maxx selections here leave a lot to be desired, however I do think it is worth it for the HomeGoods section. read more

This location is the worst Tj Maxx. Horrible customer service and waiting in line for long periods of time because management sucks. Oh wait thats not the worst part. If you buy any cosmetics and you open it home and is bad like watery or separated (which obviously is bad quality transportation or who knows) they wont accept returns because its open. So open your product in store before you get home. Or return it to a different store and never go back there. read more

This is a very well maintained location and they always have items for me to "not need" but I buy anyway. My ultimate problem is their lack of customer service. SERIOUS LACK of customer service. I've been to this location several times and every time there is 2 or 3 registers open, and a line that takes NO LESS than 30 minutes to get thru. In the various stages of this line, I've encountered several employees. Yes some of them are cleaning up shelves and restocking. Zero complaints there. The problem are the half a dozen employees just "hanging out" and chatting. Where is the sense of urgency to get the customers checked out? Where is the management to either fire/replace these employees OR redirect them to be more involved. Companies make way too much profit to continue to think people will tolerate this. I've watched several people abandon their cart, inline or walk out with nothing because it's line that literally circles around the entire store. Y'all need to do so much better! JUST A HEADS UP: I have shopped at this TJMaxx for at least 20 years and over time I have on occasion, returned clothing that didn't fit. Monday July 22nd around 1PM, I needed to return hair mouse that just came out watery and sticky, there was something wrong with the product, It was unusable. The cashier and her supervisor said they couldn't take it back since it was opened and used. There was something wrong with the product! How was I to know that if I didn't try it? The last thing I want to do is return things. I have been told that other stores such as Target will return opened products. JUST FYI: TJMaxx needs a sign in the beauty department that says, "if opened or used are not returnable". read more

The worst bathrooms ever, I would rather go to the bathroom at a sketchy gas station or Walmart in the middle of the night . I know it seems not too important but this store is soooo dirty. There is no organization and you better expect to stand in line for 30 minutes. Who knows what the workers do here. read more

The staff who stock and provide customer service are lovely. The checkout line is inexcusably long and many registers remain closed. Last TWO visits (I foolishly gave the store a second chance), I waited in line only to have a gaggle of women -- who feigned language barrier (yet clearly understood what they had done given their giggles, eye-rolls, and meaningful glances to those whom they inconvenienced) cut the queue with their items by "joining a friend". Both times, I left my cart full of items and walked out. Have not been back in months and will not return. TJ Maxx / Home Goods / #TJX board and shareholders take note: Understaffing this store's registers and checkout process is killing revenue. read more

I'm not sure what some people expect when they come to a place like TJMaxx. I find this location to be relatively well maintained - I say relatively because the bath and body section is always a bit disheveled but I also often see customers rifling through that section like they don't have any home training at all. The store is clean and well laid out. There are some good finds and interesting items here. The inventory, of course, changes so don't 'think about it' too long if you come across something you love. It's not guaranteed to be there when you return. read more

TJ MAXX is one of my favorite places and the face that this one is comboed with a HOMEGOODS makes it even better!! There is so much cool stuff. I wound up buying a huge decorative bowl for my room and a glass cake plate. I love Homegoods this location it lacks cashiers and the line is over 30 people deep and it snakes through the busiest side of the store Homegoods you go to the TJ Max side there is no one there. The store needs the have the line on the TJ Max side. At times this there are so many people if there is an Emergency the fire department won't be able to get in to help. read more

I shop this TJ Maxx a lot, we're talking a few times a week. If you purchase cosmetics or beauty products here, do yourself a huge favor and check to see if it's been opened or used before you buy. Got to love watching the employees gathered around the jewelry counter, cracking open the newly arrived (still sealed) cosmetics to check them out before putting them on the shelves. I always assumed it was rude customers using the makeup as testers--nope, their employees are doing it too! How's that for sanitary and first quality? The rich part is if you bring a beauty or cosmetics item back for return, you're met with a disapproving look and a curt "has this been used?", complete with a 10 point inspection of the item before they'll issue a refund. My stock answer is "if it's been used it sure wasn't by me!" For what it's worth I only return when a cosmetics item is clearly old beyond shelf life or dried out upon opening. (And yes, they sell cosmetics here that haven't been in production for upwards of 5 years, careful what you buy.) In any case, TJ Maxx, I encourage you to send your employees next door to Ulta if they feel particularly compelled to play beauty counter with the merchandise. Ulta has tons of testers they can play around with without ruining anything put out for purchase! read more

Great store although location kinda sucks: tough to get in and out of and parking lot has some weird asphalt junctions. But this location is YUGE! Tons of selection and things I have not seen in other TJM stores. Like all locations it's hit or miss but you have a better shot of finding what you want here due to the sheer volume of products. Picked up some good dry fit shirts and shorts and a gym bag here. I wish it was closer to where I lived. read more

This is a good one! Very clean store. Great variety of products and merchandise. Staff professional and friendly. Most importantly, available. I went in for a blouse and walked out with two gorgeous jumpsuits, the blouse I wanted, and three birthday favors for co-workers. Had the store not been closing, I would have purchased more, but I ran out of time. I got distracted by the tantalizing home goods section. I was taking pictures for my daughter in another state to help with her new home decor lol. I have visited this location frequently due to it being the nearest one. However every time I have visited this location I find the sales floor associates unfriendly and rude! The cashiers on the other hand are friendly. The good selection of merchandise has brought me back to this location but, after this last trip I have decided it will be my last. I had a terrible experience at the Baseline/Stapley store. Only reason not 1 Star is because the cashier was pleasant and was trying to be helpful. When she called the manager to ask if a discount could be given for an item that was not up to par (slight defect), the manager (female) had an attitude assumed that I spoke no English and didn't not even look at me and directed her snide remark about the issue to the cashier. She did not address me until I spoke to her directly. It was a $6 item 5% off would have been a whopping 30 cents. I wasn't even asking for a discount, the cashier was the one who suggested it. The ensuing conversation with this "manager" left a very bad impression. What happened to courtesy and making sure your customers have a pleasant experience? I go to this one only because its near my house (mesa) ...i have gone to other tjmaxx stores but they are not as big as this one... . This one has more varieties to choose from...I only come here to shop for beauty tools, designer shampoo, skincare products amd sometimes bedroom products... The only reason i gabe it 4 stars is because they really need to start security lock all of the luxury brand name cosmetics.. I saw some Anastasia Beverly Hills, Too Faced palettes but all of them were all broken or either someone opened them and touched them all.. Bought 3 Too Faces blushes only to come home and find out to see that the products were already messed up like if someone had dipped their entire fingers in them ...i will still shop here for products but i will buy my makeup at the ULTRA store next to it. read more

I have been buying from TJ Maxx for years, but mostly in Scottsdale. The crew at this store could use some training on customer interaction. I can appreciate friendly service, so when they ask "did you find everything you were looking for?" That's when I start the interaction. They don't ask because they really care, they just have to. When I asked the manager for something, it was too much trouble for her to do her job, and she just said to the new clerk, "you can take care of this, I am going on break." attempted to make a return from an item received from neighbor. no receipt but tag attached. cashier verified item and asked for ID. I gave her my military ID (supposedly on file from return at another location) cashier- nancy did not know how to use card asked store manager Kevin C who said must be state ID. I asked if store policy he said yes. I asked how another store could have done it he said it has to be state ID. He turned computer screen to me to show me that it was not an option. I pointed to the military ID button and asked if he could not use that. He said 'oh', but added that he would not do my return. I asked if he would rather have a complaint filed and he said whatever.
