As someone who was visiting from out of town, the employees were nice and helpful. The items I needed were there.

This TJ Max is hit and miss, depending on what you're looking for. There's a selection of clothes, home accessories, pet items, travel stuff, toys, shoes, cosmetics, and random miscellaneous. Markdowns with red stickers and some yellow stickers meaning final markdown, according to sales staff. The last time I was there. I found an All Clad serving spoon, which I thought was expensive until I looked at the retail price online. I ended up getting it because if I hesitated, I'm sure it would be gone next time I shopped there. Lines can get long, but move pretty quickly. Parking is plentiful as they share lot with Home Depot and Ross. read more

Went to return two blouses that I had purchased from the Upland area store! The cashier proceeded to inspect the top to where she claimed there was a spot of makeup, which I do not wear at all no foundation never have never will... The color of the spot looked to be of a beige color. I did not see it when I purchased the blouse because I did not see it nor did I wear or tried it on .. The cashier calls a manager over which I found out who wasn't a manager the gentleman says oh no you have to take the shirts back to the store you purchased them from!! He said it was store policy!! When I said show the written policy .. He back track and say because anytime there's an item that has a stain on it or whatever he called it. You have to take it to the original store that it was purchased at.. So I proceeded to ask for a real manager of which she came over and she informed them to return the blouses!! I've been shopping at TJ Maxx since the beginning of time and I've never ever experienced such a thing before, but to make matters worse before the manager came over the cashier who called over the other cashier started speaking Spanish as if I was not standing there. This is why I see this store has a 2.5 star!! They are utterly ridiculous and has terrible customer service and now I know why they have a very low rating. I will not come back to this store. That is why I shop in the Upland California area where the people are more sophisticated, classy professional!! This store #0065 on Oceangate!!! Really needs to retrain their employees.. they need training in proper etiquettes and customer service at the store... You do not start speaking another language when you talking in English, and then you turn to your coworker and then have a whole full conversation in Spanish!! That is rude as hell!!! This TJ Maxx has a good selection of cookware. They have name brands from All Clad to Lodge. When searching for a good pot or pan they have a wide selection to choose from, especially compared to the Ross Store next door to this TJ Maxx. read more

Worst customer service ever. Not going back. Done with that store. Not the first time I've delt with rude employees. This time they acted like I put a sale tag on an item an took my item away just because when she rang it up she got pissed she has to void it cause she rang up the reg tag instead of sale tag. Service. Fitting lady! I came in to try some shirts and when the fitting lady was with her boss I asume, she was extra nice. I placed my 8 shirts on her rack for her to count. When I came out I was going to buy 2 and placed the extra 6 on her reach and she grabbed the ones I had in my hand to count and make sure I had two. So disgusting behavior. First of all, I visit this tjmaxx very often, at least once a week. And tonight was the first time I ever encountered such a rude employee. I didnt even get her name because I was so upset by her rudeness! I had a question so i saw her putting things away or cleaning, whatever she was doing. So i said "excuse ma'am.." in Spanish because she obviously speaks spanish and she turns to me and says " english only!" And i asked "oh , you dont speak spanish ?" She says "i speak english!" With a very heavy heavy spanish accent then she says "dont speak english?!" To which i replied "I speak 4 languages!" And she said "good for you!" At that point - i was flabbergasted that a person of her age group 60+ yrs of age - who is cleary not a US born citizen- to have such a rude response to a customer . If she refuses to speak spanish - thats fine but she needs to learn manners when spekimg to customers. She could have said " im sorry i prefer to speak english- or simply answer in english! I hope she never is put at the register because she lacks the professionalism and tact so as to have a pleasant interaction with the public. I want to thank Michael and Stacy (i hope i have her name correct) who were extremely polite and apologetic for this rude woman's behavior. Very confused on the return policy and felt very disappointed leaving today. Associates were not helpful at all and provided no assistance. According to the associate, they aren't allowed to verify the price of merchandise by using the same merchandise on the floor. I called another TJMaxx store to verify if I could return the merchandise and they confirmed that they are able to. Disappointed as the associate seemed like she wasn't willing to help me out at all. read more

Worst customer service ever! Manager or whoever she is "Maria A" is hiding hello kitty blankets. She has a nasty attitude. As a "manager" your duty is to put items on the floor so that customers can purchase. This is a retail store! This will not end with a yelp review. This will be reported to corporate. I had a negative experience at this tjmaxx just today. I went a few days ago and purchased several items. At home days later I see that one of the security things was not removed from a set of pj's. I went this evening and asked to have it removed and I was told to get in line, the line was huge! Their mistake for not doing their job correctly the first time, and I have to wait?? Makes no sense. This place profiles people and makes it very uncomfortable to shop. They have cameras to see if people are stealing so why do they feel the need to follow and stare while talking on their earpiece, the only reaction someone could have is taking offense to this. I'll attach a photo of the very rude and unprofessional employee that ruined me and my husbands shopping experience. I would've preferred not to even buy anything at this location but it was an emergency zero stars for zero customer service. Train your employees to be a little more discreet and polite about who they watch if you're gonna watch don't be so rude about it. When I was talking to another employee and she jumped into someone else's conversation from a customers point of you. The manager Maria A was extremely rude. I saw 2 different workers bring out hello kitty blankets from the back so I asked for one. They told me they had to ask the manager Maria. She came over and said that she wasn't allowed to bring blankets out and couldn't give out any information. I informed her I saw 2 different workers bring them out from the back for other customers, she proceeded to say she couldn't do the same for me. I just asked for one. One person got 2 and another person got 1. They always tell customers they can't hold items and it's not right Maria A is discriminating certain customers and choosing who can get what. read more

The customer service is poor. Ruth, the dressing room lady stands there and does nothing. My gf was trying on clothes and I went to look and she started arguing with me in the hallway. This has to be the best TJ Maxx I've ever seen for home decorating. It's clean, well organized and it's packed with brand name merchandise!! Their clothes selection was average but their luggages and pursw selection was amazing. They have a well stocked assortment of jewelry and perfumes. read more

This TJ Maxx is so new and it looks it!!! While it is next to Ross, this place has nicer items. I did end up going to both Ross and TJ Maxx, so there's no shame in hitting both stores! It is really organized and reminds me of a Nordstrom rack the way it was set up. I ended up buying some cute boots since fall is upon is. The line for the cashier was not long with 3 people working. Since the line was starting to form, a 4th cashier opened and I was immediately rang up. There was plenty of parking in lots when we went. I don't live in the area, but if my best friend wants to go to TJ Maxx anytime soon we are definitely hitting this one up!! read more

I shop at three TJ Maxx locations Culver City, Westchester and Hawthorne! Apparently the Hawthorne location will not take returns from the other two locations!! I purchased a pair of sunglasses at the Culver City store yesterday evening. I went home found them online for less. I love this location but todays experience was less then perfect I was looking in the jewelry department and I wanted too see some earring in the case I saw an employee by makeup CARMEN Z and I said "can I see some earring " she ignored me and pretend too "organize" I waited and asked again she ignored and talked too her coworker while he actually was organizing he was a tall sweet guy so I literally go and stand by her and say may I see some earring she says "yeah" with an attitude I ignored I showed her the ones I wanted and she snatched them to show them she was pissed off she had to assist me then I saw the same earring in a different color and I asked if those were cheaper because of the color and she said I guess so idk I said okay I'll take them she checked me out told me the return policy and walked away as I was grabbing my purchase from the counter she asked the 3 customers in the area if they needed help ... but she couldn't ask me ? I love this T.J. Maxx! I know I can always come in and leave with something, many times I go to T.J. Maxx, Marshall's, Ross and leave empty handed because they don't have much selection available for purchase, not the case here I always find tops, candles, shoes. Plenty of parking here maybe the only thing I don't like is that there is always max of only 2-3 cashiers so do expect to wait especially if someone is doing a return. read more

I had never been to this location until today. It was well worth the stop! It wasn't over crowded and the staff were all friendly. The store was very well stocked, specifically in handbags and shoes. This is a new TJ Max next to Ross I believe staples was there. When I went in I was impressed store was full of items to purchase customer service rocked. What really rocked is I found not 1 but 2 pairs of workout pants on the clearance rack for less than $20 YUP a pair of under armour workout pink pants $16 red tag and some Nike pants $10 reg tag I'm not complaining lol. I didn't find anything in the baby department the 2t size wasn't much to choose from but its still a work in progress. This TJ max is showing potential for this location. read more
