    Halloween Time!
    South B.

This review is for the amount of stock they have. They have tons of inventory ready to go, organized, and available. Tons of decor, Halloween, beauty products, clothes for the season, etc. The cashier I encountered was very helpful and was polite and patient. He was very friendly.

I couldn't tell you the last time I was at a TJ Maxx even if my life depended on it. Like most people, I fell into the whole ordering everything online. Sure, it is easy, they've even made returns and refunds easy, so that became part of my way of life. And then one day, the need came up: a purchase had to be made on a STAT level and whatever was needed could be found here. And I did. And then some. Their clearance sections are fantastic! Designer brands at discounted prices across the board. I scored lotions, clothing and even accessories at extra bargain buys! I planned on only buying one (maybe two) things. I ended up with maybe 15-20 items? ALL OF THEM: DISCOUNTED - some, up to 90% off. Score. A week later a similar need came up, and yeah... I ended up coming back. I'M. A FAN. TJ Maxx now on my radar!

This tjmaxx is great! The check out line was a bit long so i just looked aroumd a little more and the line was gone in no time!

This location is always well organized. They have the clothing racks spaced out a little better than some others do so it doesn't feel as cramped. They also do a good job of staying on top of things after a busy crowd has passed through wreaking havoc the way bargain shoppers sometimes do. Shop earlier in the day for a more pleasant experience. Great staff. Good parking. Excellent prices.

Manager here was rude and not helpful. When I asked for help on a price she listed the prices as if she knew all of them from the top of her head. Telling me no Ugg blanket is less than $30 and if listed that way someone changed it. They should double check their stuff then because it looks like someone changed the price on all of them and when you go to pay they will charge you more.

Great selection and great pricing compared to full retail. Cash registers move slowly, however.

There are multiple entrances with disabled parking located just outside the doors, as well as several mobility options to choose from. This includes staircases, escalators, as well as an elevator lift for you to use to access the main shopping floor, which is located on the 2nd floor of this building. I tend to preplan my Target runs because, let's be honest, it's so easy to get drawn into making spontaneous purchases, haha. I enjoyed the selection of goods that this location carries, as some others may only have limited stock. I was able to find what I had planned on buying, some new Levi's, with ease and was grateful for the well stocked display section. I loved that many items were listed as being on sale, adding an extra smile to my visit due to being more valuable/bang for my buck. Using the Target app I was able to quickly navigate the remainder of the store for my other, smaller item needs. The app is extra useful for in-store shopping since it lists the isle letter and number for you, pinpointing exact item locations as well as letting me know if an item is currently sold-out or low-stocked. Many Target team members were out on the floor, cleaning, restocking, and setting up new displays. I felt that every team member that I encountered was warm with greetings and smiles plus being willing to go the extra mile by offering to walk me to items I was I was in search of. This was a lovely bonus. The only negative that I encountered on my visit was that many displays, while stocked with care, were placed too close together. Though the store entrance manages to be made with customers with mobility issues in mind, the sales floor and numerous displays were not. Being placed so close together made it almost impossible to navigate around several displays with a standard shopping cart, let alone for those who need to use a wheelchair or mobility scooter. I often use a cane for walking and found myself needing to scoot sideways between a few sections. I really feel that the retail customer expierience could be improved by spacing out racks/shelves to be more accessible.

Stores have been closing due to the lack of business in this mall. At current status, its a Ghostown! Shopping is really non existence. "Its rather creepy." Its a sad situation to see that so many businesses are closing down. There is talk that this mall will completely close for good, maybe a couple of years from now. Rumor has it that this mall will be demolished for condos or some type of housing real estate investment? Overall I would come back! Its probably a good time to shop at this mall now since everything will be in liquidation soon. As for now, every stores is giving some type of discounts. No congestion, no traffic and plenty of parking. The mall is clean. I advise to look out for some deals. I seen discounts here and there that is ridiculously great! Lots of history at this mall. Going to be sad to see when this place gone.

Review #606 2025-095…read more I'm backtracking my review count because the original #606 was for defunct Bird Talk Chicken that "it was removed due to the review & photos posted appears to depict a YEE" (I went back the next day because my fam really loved their food so it's unrelated). Anyways, the last time I've been to South Bay Galleria was in 2019, & dined at a few restaurants & shopped at a few stores: Sunny Side Up Deli & Grill (refer to Review #272), Fresh Splash (refer to Review #273), Cafe Meli Mellow (refer to Review #434), Crazy 8 (refer to Review #372), H & M, Payless Shoe Source, etc. Post pandemic, I only recently visited a handful of times for a Yelp event at French Touch (refer to Review #790), birthday parties at Wonder of Dinosaurs, Urban Youth Parks, & most recently, I went to an event at Orange Door Spaces with fellow mom from SBCS & watched a movie at the AMC Dine-In with my Yelp gal pal, Lily W. South Bay Galleria opened in 1985 & housed anchor stores like Nordstrom, Mervyns, Macy's. I started coming here in the late 1990s when I moved to the South Bay. I noticed declining foot traffic (likely because the food court lines have gotten shorter) since the departure of Mervyns in 2008 or 2009, followed by Nordstrom, & more store closures. Their foot court is on the 3rd level with a handful of eateries distributed on other levels. South Bay Galleria will be undergoing major redevelopment from its traditional shopping mall into a mixed-use complex. News vary from residential units, hotel, with commercial spaces & a parking garage on the surrounding parking lots, with the potential of some original buildings remaining, though a significant portion will likely be demolished to make way for the new development. There's not as much shopping opportunities/retail stores as there are experiences: Battleground (competitive multi-player story driven free roam VR experience), VR Place (10 station VR experience), QuestRoom (escape rooms), Skate Farm (skating rink), Funshare Arcade (arcade games, claw machines, ticket redemptions), Cherished Memories (elective 2D/3D/4D sonogram), Zen Relax (massage). Peekaboo Bin Store might be interesting, a sort of bargain hunt/discount, last chance store. Mall hours are short, & opened from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM. If you're here for the movies in the evenings, park in the structure & exit at Level 4 to enter the empty mall (I was lucky to run into security patrolling the grounds to learn about this outside Q). I don't feel very comfortable here at night due to the parking lot's desertedness, but am glad to see security both times when I was here at Orange Door Spaces & AMC. I'm not sure if I'll be returning any time soon, but my kiddos are curious about VR & may stop by Battleground or VR Place, & possibly QuestRoom (are escape rooms still a thing?). Sad to see this once bustling mall fade away.

A cashier, I believe her name is Shelle, misled me into applying for a Marshalls credit card without my consent. She even entered a random income amount into the computer without my knowledge or permission. When I realized I had been signed up for a TJX Rewards credit card, I immediately demanded that the process be terminated. Rather than assisting, the cashier simply pointed to a phone number on the receipt and told me I had to handle the cancellation myself. [Review #799] 2023-087…read more TJ Maxx is located in the heart of Peninsula Shopping Center. Although I've heard of them, I don't recall shopping at the stores. They are the flagship chain of TJX Companies; strangely, they operate as sister stores with Marshalls, which I do frequent, & both chains generally stock similar items (men's, women's, & children's apparel, shoes, & accessories; bath & beauty products; jewelry & other accessories; housewares, kitchen & home products) of those found at major department store except theirs is generally discounted. I don't believe the Rolling Hills Estates location is a higher volume store; those store may have a high-end designer department called The Runway. And it's also unexpected to find a discount department store in the affluent hills. During this school year (2023 - 2024), my son's Cantonese class has doubled the students so I've been hanging out with other parents shootin' the breeze, takin' a coffee/tea break, walking (to get some exercise in), & window shopping (sometimes actually buying stuff). The store opens pretty early, at 9:30 AM, for a Saturday morning so we usually have it pretty much to ourselves when we're browsing here. Their inventory is comparable to Marshalls, & I've gotten some great deals. What's impressive about this location is their luxury inventory... some unexpected finds include: Mackage (I knew it was a thing but haven't heard of them & needed to look them up; they're a Canadian prestigious luxury outwear clothing brand), Fendi, TOTEME (Stockholm-based label exploring the appeal of the modern uniform with meticulous craftsmanship, methodic repetition, & distinct design cues). They even carry one of my fav brands: Life is Good; an American apparel & accessories lifestyle brand known for its optimistic t-shirts that often feature Jake, a smiling stick figure. I love their pjs... so comfy & cozy. The store is organized & well-stocked, probably because we're here first thing in the morning. Can't imagine what it would be like mid-day since there's only a skeleton crew in the mornings, I'm sure they'll increase the staff during the busier shopping hours. My friend found a couple pairs of designed shades in the locked display case, & it took awhile to find someone, then another staff member to open the case. While she was mulling over which to purchase, both were great deals, I/she felt rushed into making a decision. And for security purposes (understandably), she couldn't hold onto them & he brought her glasses to the cashier even though the registers are the next row over. The staff is friendly & welcoming on our Saturday mornings, & any purchases are processed quickly. If you're looking for mark-downed name brands, you can try your luck at TJ Maxx, but it might take some time to find that treasure. Happy hunting!
