My visual senses went into major overload the first time I visited the store. But, I was pleasantly surprised to find several pairs of adorable, trendy shoes that were incredibly affordable. Love this place! I purchase just about every household items here and gifts too! I do love that there are two floors to shop. Very clean and definitely not clutter like a Ross or Marshall's store. Prices on items are reasonable. I am a big of photo frames and this place has the nicest frames starting at $5.99 and up and they are all great quality. If I could leave 0 stars I would. First off let me start out by saying this has been my favorite location for years. Never had a problem with them, and a decent selection. Though recently it does seem that the inventory selection and quality has gone down slightly, let's get real-its still cheaper. My issues isn't with the store really, past all the mess people created. Today is a review of the store manager Sasha. I had picked a luggage I wanted to get (some very visible scratches and discoloration) but since they didn't have another one like it, I was going to take it knowing that items that are "broken" or "defective" receive the 10% off with a "now, non returnable" shpeal. The cashier called the "manager" Sasha to see if she can approve it, with out even looking at me when she was speaking "no, no discount." My reaction obviously: "excuse me?" To which I got a trailed off as she walked away response -" we don't discount luggage". Alright, fisrt of, I don't understand why you wouldn't when you can't offer me a replacement. That luggage is clearly marked up and discolored. No offer to call any other locations just a walk away. WHERE IN THE WORLD IS HER CUSTOMER SERVICE???? She wouldn't even look at me. Facing the wall she responds for the last time "there a truck coming tomorow, maybe we will have it than". First off, I have had well over 10 years of managerial experience- retail and other wise. I would never speak to a customer in that tone, nor give them such disrespectful disregard. It's shameful, if you are not happy with your job, quit! I'm sure corporate can find a better replacement. I will most likely not go back to this location, and most definitely recommend the next closest location. Don't waste your time at this one. read more

This was a supersize TJ Maxx/Home goods store. (1st time in one). I don't shop at TJ Maxx much, as there are just several in SF and the peninsula collectively. Stopped by just to browse, and how eye opening! They're HUGE. I guess it's a superstore. Lots of home stuff--nick nacks, luggage bags & handbags, and exercise props. The prices are very similiar to Ross, and i found stuff actually even cheaper than Ross! Didn't look at clothing items, though. read more

Whats not to love about this place they have everything you'll find clothing wise you would find in a Ross. The difference here is the expanded home goods, they have everything you could ever want to decorate the home with class and style and the prices are really great. I've been coming here as long as I've owned my home and have never walked out of here empty handed. The lines at the register can be unpredictable so I never can tell when the best time of day is to come. It's insanely busy during the holidays and regardless of time of year the place is almost always a bit messy with things out of place and on the floor, but I take the good with the bad here. read more

I love this TJ Max! They have so many things to choose from and at such great prices!! Everytime I come in to buy something in specific, I always end up leaving for more things I found in the store! I love their paintings selection and I have also bought a few pots and pans from this store and they are really good quality. Also, I have never had a problem having an associate help me when I needed assistance. The location is wonderful and the selection is amazing, the only thing I would change is the size of the shopping cart ;) they are a little small for all the big things they carry :) read more

Shoppers, beware. I, Black American, was denied access to the fitting room by Ailin O. (Employee) because I would not give her my Trader Joe's bag. Spoke with manager on staff, Cathy D., who confirmed that it is not the TJ Maxx fitting room policy to make customers release their bags but that no, I could not access without releasing my bag. My review is of Home Goods downstairs. I found two IDENTICAL planters. I noticed that each had different prices. I showed an associate. She said because they came in at different times, they were priced differently. I thought that was ridiculous, but went up to the register to talk to the manager. I wanted both of the planters for the lower price. The manager said that actually, the lower priced planter was given the wrong sticker. Because THEY made the mistake, I had to buy the planters for the higher priced sticker. I have NEVER been at a store that ever said that. You need to own up to your own mistake. You put on the wrong sticker, you lose out on the money. I left the planters that would have been perfect not because the price was that much. I bought a new house recently so this type of store has become my frequent weekend destination as it has some interesting stuffs from time to time. Size-wise It's a bit cramp so I'd prefer the one in Santa Clara which is much larger. I mainly shop for house-hold pieces and if you're lucky you can come across interesting pieces once in a while. I notice too much of the home furniture or pieces are broken or damaged compared with other TJ Maxx stores. They have an entire floor devoted to clothing. Purchase line is decent. Returns are always a hassle. I once had to return an unused cologne I thought for men but it turned out to be for women. There was a nasty Chinese woman store manager who wouldn't take it back because I had already removed the plastic wrapping. She was the most unpleasant person I had to deal with. I ended up returning it to another TJ Maxx store and they took it back, no questions at all! This store is nice to drop in once in a while but it has too few quality house-hold pieces for me. In addition the unpleasant store manager experience taught me to not give them my business. read more

I'd give this place -1 stars for their customer service if I could. They give you major attitude for returning things that have a tag on it and a receipt, as if I stole it. I bought the furniture items at a TJ Maxx store but I don't live close to one anymore so just thought I could return to a Home goods nearby but I guess the managers and other employees that work there think they own the stores so they didn't let me return the stuff I bought, which turned out to be non-functional at my house. They told me it was more than $100 so they couldn't do it. Where on their return policy states I could not return an item more than $100?? Bad customer service all around. So much attitude!! Went to this location today had a great time shopping till I reached the registers. The front end manager made a point to point out my friend I and tell another associate who proceed to look and smirk. I don't understand what they found amusing. I have been a loyal customer and card holder for more years than I care to admit, and in all that time I have never had an issue with the return policy. I can no longer say that as my grown daughter and I had a major issue last week. I had purchased a copper pan for her, but after consideration and some checking around decided to return it as it did not have the lid, and it didn't really go with her other copper pots - and had cost me $160 +tax. We did not use it at all, but when we took it in to return it (same store w/i a week, tags still attached and receipt) they insisted it had been used because there was a little drop of what looked like water on the inside. The label was stuck firmly to the bottom and had obviously been there for some time. There was a very faint image of a label that had been removed so long before that you had to turn the pan just right to even see it. They came up with some of the lamest reasons for their refusal, even said they should not have sold it in that condition. I asked why I should pay for TJMaxx's mistake? My daughter ended up calling and speaking to three people about this before finally reaching someone that made the decision that we could return it, which we did. This all took about 45 minutes while we stayed in the store. As much as I hate to say this, we will never go back to THAT TJ Maxx. read more

I like going to this TJ Maxx a lot, because you can find great bargains for decorating your home, shoes, clothes ,and accessories. These days the store at this location, they are not selling much variety of high end fashion clothes like they used to( I.e. 7 for all mankind, Rock and Republic, Juicy, Ed Hardy, True Religion, Jo and etc.. ) I mean they do carry the clothing brands mentioned above; it's just that they only have VERY few different sizes for the items. Maybe it's because the economy that's causing the lack in the supplies to have MORE of these brands in the store. I mean when you shop at these Bargain stores such as Ross and Marshall you obviously won't find as much the clothes you would want in your sizes ALL THE TIME. it's a hit or miss going to these types of stores. I remember buying a Juicy Couture top from this store for $25 when the Original price was $75! WOW what a deal! As a bargain shopper, I love shopping at TJ Maxx. read more

Stopped by this store on Saturday and boy was it crowded. They have lots of nice things for the home for reasonable prices. I didnt get a chance to look around much but I did buy a end table. However, no shopping carts?? Really and no one to help me carry the table?? I had to drag it around the corner and wait in a 10-15 deep line. I finally paid and dragged it outside no one offered to take it to the car. I did find a costco shopping cart outside... wheew. All in all I will be back but probably during the week when its not so crowded and they may just have some shopping cart available. read more

I had the most horrible experience at TJ Maxx. I bought a lamp with a white lamp shade. The lamp shade was slightly dusty but I loved it and it was the only one left. When I purchased it I ask the sales person if I could get a percentage off for the shade considering it looked a little dirty. They told me no and to bring it back if it did not clean up easily. I brought it home and the slightly dirty edges did not clean up so I brought it back. ERIC told me he would not return it when I had just purchased it 1 day prior! He was so rude!!!! I've been shopping at TJ Maxx stores for over 20 years now because I like their merchandise and good deals. However, I have stopped going to the Home Goods & TJ Maxx store on Almaden because their really poor customer service, especially when it comes to returns. I buy a lot of stuff from TJ Maxx but at times I change my mind and return items I no longer want. With most stores, I usually don't have a problem. BUT in this particular store there are a couple of young clerks who seem to be on a power trip. Last week, I returned two untouched Xmas cards boxes and the clerk proceeded to COUNT all 36 cards (2 boxes/18). She also checked and rechecked a $14.99 purse that I was also returning...she examined the tags over and over, pulled the tags, opened the zipper, and finally asked "why are you returning this purse?" I felt like I was being treated like an impostor...Plus, there was a huge line of customers waiting to be helped. This is not acceptable! read more
