    Driest tacos ever
    Nicole F.

I know its hard to find good Mexican tacos here in hawaii. We do have our pockets but man it is hard! Driving in Waimanalo we see this taco truck and it looks super legit, however when we got our tacos, it looks like a dry mess. The tacos were single Ply- meaning not the traditional 2 layers. The meat was SOOOOO DRY, and WOW the limes were dry AF. NO juice whatsoever from them. We got 2 barbacoa and 2 (not even sure what the other one was)- but it was the worst tacos ever- also did I mention that they are 3.50$ each??? meaning 4 tacos and a drink cost us close to $18.- see pics and video GOOD: great selection of all the spanish drinks and flavors My husband did say the sauce was very good and spicy, but honestly it needed the sauce bc the meat was sooo dry. TOO OVERPRICED for QUALITY. and believe me ill pay for a great taco Wouldn't recommenced sadly

Overpriced. Period. I ordered 3 tacos, 2 carnitas and 1 chicken and it came out to be $10. It was $3.50 a taco. These tacos were tiny. It was no way near worth $3.50 for 1, I'd pay .50 or at most $1 for one of their tacos. The 1 star is for the taste. The taste was there, the carnita meat was tender as well. I will definitely not be coming here again due to the prices and quantities.

Authentic Mexican food is hard to find with traditional flavors and genuine spices TJ Mexico brings a family heart and richly flavored authentic food. Pluses: + Flavor + Fresh quality + Customer service + Selection + Authentic Mexican breads for Tortas + Locally family owned and operated Minuses- - Parking gets crowded Bottom line: Our favorite Mexican food and Ohana on O'ahu

Love this food truck! It's nice to have authentic Mexican food in Waimanalo. Their foods really good price $12 a plate or $3.50 a Taco.. Their tacos come with rice and beans which is a plus! And the people who run it are super nice. I love their salsa, I always get extra and actually eat it with my other food at home. It packs the heat but everything has such good flavor and is super filling... I highly recommend trying them

It's for takeout, no tables inside…read more They do have a nice selection of comfort food like pancit, pork or chicken adobo, dinuguan, pork guisantes, lumpia, and desserts as well. They also have packaged snacks they sell too. Greeted immediately by the guys behind the counter, my daughter and I already knew what we wanted, so we got the fried rice adobo, pork adobo and pancit to go. When I say comfort food, after one bite I was brought back to when I was little and my mom making these for us. I'm looking forward to going back and trying their other offerings. It's good to have a Filipino food spot in Kaneohe instead of driving all the way down to the Leeward side. Visit them and try it out for yourselves.

Thinking that there must be Good Grindz there, I made a U-turn and parked behind the truck. YumYum TumTum is usually in Waimanalo (by Bellows), but on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, they're across from The Plaza at Kaneohe. Service is excellent. The two workers in the truck are very personable with the "aunties and uncles". They inform each customer about the ten to twelve minute wait-time since each order is made fresh! Because the Pancit was sold out (and the banana lumpia), I ordered the Garlic Rib Eye Steak... whoa... Da buggah was Beeg!!! I couldn't finish it! Made with the "secret special rub", the Garlic chips and onions were Broke da Mouth! The meat was tender and juicy! I enjoyed the koge edges of charred fat! Mmm! I should have ordered the BBQ chicken skewers, too... and the halohalo... welll... I'll just have to return... And go earlier before the Pancit runs out!!!

This is my first review of 2026!…read more Tonight I enjoyed the sticky rice with chicken anticucho and it is my favorite meal of 2026 so far. The chicken thighs were beautifully seasoned and slightly charred. The meat was cooked all the way through yet still juicy with bone in thigh. The purple sticky rice was perfectly done and I love the texture of sticky rice in general. The plate also came with sliced cucumbers and pickled mustard greens (reminiscent of Vietnamese pickled mustard greens - but in a much more vibrant green color). My favorite part of the meal was the tart and aromatic sauce that came in the meal. If you're not a fan of lime juice and fish sauce, you may want to use sparingly. However, I was thoroughly enjoying the sauce and when accompanied with a bit of the mustard greens, it toned down the sour aspect of the flavor profile. Overall, so delicious and I would love to find them again and enjoy more of their menu items!

Using Yelp's Mobile Food Trucks search will identify them but you need to use another app to actually find out where they are. I ran across them on a weekend in my neighborhood and stopped by. The food is a fusion of Peruvian and Laotian by husband-wife team, Juan Ching and Kim Thepsenavong. There is a long history of Japanese cuisine fusing with Peruvian - it's called Nikkei. But other Asian cuisines, especially Southeast Asian, also blend seamlessly with Peruvian staples. Think about the heavy use of pepper and spice in Laotian cuisine. You've been in restaurants where the heat scale is hot, Thai hot, and Laotian hot. Peppers were only introduced into Southeast Asia in the 16th century. Peru is one of the recognized birthplaces of peppers, with over 300 varieties and a 7,500 year history of cultivation. Peruvian Laotian fusion works when you do it right. I had a beef anticuchos skewers plate with Laotian accompaniments. The anticuchos had a nice smokey sweet dark color from aji panca paste. The rice was Laotian, with black and white grains of sticky rice. There was pickled Laotian som pak, a vinegar marinated mustard cabbage. A fine blended salsa-like jeow mak len, full of charred tomato smokiness, savory paedek fish sauce, garlic, shallot, bird's eye chiles, and lime, was terrific on top of the marinated beef. I hope I run into Khao and Papas again one day so I can try their grilled chicken. Until then, I have the memory of a fine take-out plate of Peruvian Laotian fusion comfort food.

I've been here many many many times and it's finally time I let you in on this secret gem. It's a very small hole in the wall Mom n' Pop shop. There's some seating inside too if you need to rest from being outside in the sun all day. It's definitely no frills, but I'm not gonna dock any points because the main thing is the food. ABSOLUTE BANGER prices. I got the bbq cheeseburger and it was a dream. Very savory and the best part is you don't have to wait around in line for a food truck event to come up just to get your burger fix. I have NO idea what they put in this burger but it's brok da mout. It's SO cheap too. For their plates, they have mini and regular options...which is perfect when you're not ready to commit to a whole plate. The food is made fast and it tastes consistent every single time. They got their system down to a T. I got the BBQ Chicken mini and honestly, this is fully enough to fill you up. They're generous with the chicken, rice and mac. They really remind me of my family when it comes to portioning food...eat eat eat up and grow big. That is a VIBE. At this point I realized that I ate all of the food already and couldn't even show you the good stuff I got. HOWEVER, it's a huge recommend if you're in the area and coming back from the beach. It HITS. For those of you that love logistics planning before you make up your mind, here's a quick rundown: - Free Parking - Restrooms Available - Phone Orders (recommended) - They take card + cash (cash tips only) - Breakfast menu as well - Good, fair prices I hope you'll give them a chance :) ALOHA!

The meat was tender and seasoned well. They didn't put too much salt which was great so I could taste the meat.
