Came in to see if I could get my bag repaired. The clasp that fixes the straps to my bag had been lost somewhere along the journey. Unfortunately, my fine leather bag is a custom piece and that specific clasp wasn't available. I received a quote on what the work would cost to temporarily remove the lining, access the back of the clasps, Remove both, install new clasps, and reseal the lining. I was told about $75. Which I thought was an excellent deal. I inquired what I could do about bringing some of the sheen back to my beautiful leather and was pointed to a reasonably priced bottle of leather polish which I did buy. I took a look around the store. An incredible assortment of leather goods awaits you. I found a dream list item in a beautiful pair of black leather driving gloves that I am definitely coming back for. Everything was priced fairly and the quality of the craftsmanship was exquisite. I requested that some marble bags be made up for purchase and was told that they would be. I'm so excited for my future customer experiences at TLS. I've been a customer for four years after my first experience in this store and will never shop anywhere else for belts, wallets, and anything else they make. Four years ago I was walking around on Cannery Row and my belt came undone (cheap quality) and broke while I was here. After walking around pulling my pants up every few seconds, I searched Google for anywhere local for a belt and The Leather Company was my closest option. As soon as I entered the store an older gentleman(I'm in my 20's at this time) was very polite. I explained to him what happened, and he fixed my belt within a few minutes while I browsed the store and wouldn't charge me for the repair. I wasn't even a customer at this point, but the service was better than anywhere else I've been. From then on, all my belts and wallets are from this store. They closely followed my requests (placement and size of pockets, zippers, etc. and I LOVE the finished color (purple - with grey lining). I have a Mexican tooled leather satchel that needed a crossbody strap. I went to John and he listened to me, found leather that matched the purse EXACTLY, measured, and made the strap for me in less than 24 hours. I took my hubby back and we found a business card holder.
