Wanted a passenger side mirror (from West Coast Metric) installed on my '71 Karmann Ghia. I do a lot of my own maintenance but was a little nervous about digging into the sheet metal. Nick was careful, thorough and quick. Did a great job. Spent the extra minutes to make sure the mirror was adjusted for good visibility. I may have been young and naive at the time and this update is overdo. At the time I had a VW Jetta that I kept taking back to Nick. I can't quite put my finger on the issue and honestly don't feel like digging through service papers, but I remember the last visit I paid $300 for a service that I thought was overpriced. I also remember him charging me a mileage fee to retrieve the required part from Irwindale. After a few visits it seems like he started to get annoyed, thankfully the Jetta was deemed inoperable after a terrible accident and that headache went away. A few months later I got my hands on a 64 Bug and wanted him to inspect it to see if it needed any work in particular. I messaged him, he asked me who I was and never replied back to me after that. Seems like the universe works in mysterious ways. It also seems to me that he prefers his older usual customers and isn't fond of new customers; but that's just my opinion. Call me stupid, call him unprofessional, whatever the case is, hopefully this update helps. read more

Nick and his team at TnT are superb! Always fair with pricing and they always find and fix the problem. I have definitely thrown some tough ones at them and they always come through!! I have a 2006 Audi A3. They communicate well by keeping posted on the situation. I highly recommend them if your a Volkswagen or Audi driver! They'll fix anything but my Audi will always go to them when it needs work. read more

Dishonest, rude, and expensive is the best way I can describe Nick. I came to his shop based on the great reviews he'd received on Yelp. After all, how bad could it go given I just needed a lightbulb replaced on my headlights? I gave Nick a call for a quote. $20 he says to replace the bulb on my front headlights. I come in and he has to go to his computer and research about how to replace the bulb in my car. He then explains that he'd have to put in more labor to replace the bulb and quotes me $100. Ummm, shouldn't he have known this based on what I told him over the phone? I really should've left just seeing him have to research how to replace the bulb, but given his excellent Yelp ratings and that I didn't want to deal w/ looking for another shop, I agreed. Fast forward to two days later and my car starts yelling at me about the same light bulb not working. I call Nick that Wednesday to schedule an appointment to see him on Sat. He says no problem and no appointment necessary since it would be an "easy" fix. I bring back my car that Sat morning and after assessing the problem (not to mention yanking some cables vigorously), Nick concludes that a power surge caused the bulb to burn out and that he needed to bring the car up to one of his machines to assess the problem in more detail. He gives a very detailed description of the problem and makes it sound like a huge electrical issue. Afterward, he says that he couldn't finish the work that day since he had a lot of other cars lined up. At this point, I was frustrated, so I complained about calling him early in the week and getting the reassurance that the car would be fixed that day. He finally agreed, but on the condition that I give him half the day to fix the car. When I finally got my car back, I noticed that he didn't even move it! Turns out that he only had to replace the bulb! I'm not completely a ditz when it comes to basic car maintenance, but I'll bet anyone that he probably screwed in the bulb with his bare fingers, which caused it to burn out. Before leaving, Nick had the nerves to try and charge me $20 for the bulb. When I refused, he gave me a huge attitude problem. Don't settle for below average service at outrageous rates with this dishonest mechanic. Get peace of mind by doing more research on better shops out there or if you're too lazy, take your car to the dealer. At least you get peace of mind and the services that you paid for. read more

TNT is a pretty good car repair shop. If there's a problem, they will search it until it's resolved. I took in my '71 Super Beetle for a leaky gas hose and he did complete tune up of my engine and adjusted my valves, but my engine kept cutting out. Nick kept searching until he found that my intake manifolds were totally trashed. Sure, it took longer and cost more than I would have liked, but the dedication to making my VW run the way it should puts TNT Automotive in my book for future repair. read more

Brought my car here since the ignition was faulty. It was actually closing hours for the shop, but Nick was still at the shop when I got my car towed. He was very accommodating and let us leave the car inside his shop until got to check it the following morning! Would highly recommend! read more

Amazing place!!! Nick saved my life today. The top to my convertible got stuck down I spent all morning googling trying to find a way to get the top up I gave up .. I started calling every mechanic I could find but there aren't many open on a Sunday and those that are wouldn't even talk to me because they wouldn't work on a convertible top.. Then just as I was giving up all hope and I was preparing to spend tonight camping in my car out of fear it would get stolen.I thought one more and called TNT and Nick offered to take a look at it (on his day off) and he got it up! Though it's just a bandaid for a much bigger problem going on with my car at least I can sleep comfy in my bed tonight knowing my car is safe, and I WILL ABSOLUTELY be back to get the top repaired. read more

If you are looking for a very honest and down to earth mechanic look no further. My A/C Compressor went out on my 2004 Mercedes and called my local shops here in Carson. All of them were rude and seemed to not care if they got my business or not. I started to search on Yelp and saw all the reviews here and decided to give TNT Auto a call. When I called TNT Auto Nicholas answered with a friendly tone and really wanted to help me out. Ended up taking the car to him and he had it back to me in no time at all. DO NOT TRUST! BAD BUSINESS. Quoted me on a NEW part for $300. When I asked to see the old part it put him on the spot to find out they welded the Same damaged OLD part and charged me $365. Just another shady mechanic. A few days later the check engine light turned on. This place is the worst. read more

Mini Coopers are a lot of fun, but there have been plenty of bugs in the design. Finding a good mechanic who can fix my sweet car has always been a challenge. Then I met Nick. He's personable, polite, and informative. I've always had a great experience with TNT Auto. The customer service has been above and beyond, including lending a car to me when available. Nick finds time to look at my car when something is troubling me, and he never seems to be too busy to give superior customer service. I own a 2007 Nissan Sentra. For about two weeks I was having trouble on and off with my car starting up. Then my driver's side mirror got completely smashed, so I took my car in to Nick at the recommendation of a friend. I called the shop that morning explaining what was wrong and they told me to come in. I dropped the car off around 11am on a Wednesday and it was ready to be picked up the same day at 3pm. They replaced the battery, installed a new mirror, and painted it to match the rest of my car. After doing some research I'm pretty sure I could've gotten the mirror replaced for cheaper elsewhere, but Nick's was quick and convenient so I don't mind paying more for good service. read more

I was in Long Beach for work and on my way down from Hollywood when my Tiguan started making a very unnerving sound around the two front tires. I looked up the nearest VW mechanic and found Nick who told me to come straight over. Right away he went for a drive with me on the highway to check out the sound himself. He knew it could be one of two things so we went back to the shop and put it up on the lift. He instantly found that it was a bad tire that had a bubble in it. He didn't charge me a thing for his time, and told me to take it straight to my VW dealer who should replace it for free, which they did. A kind and honest mechanic, what more could I ask for in a town that I'm not familiar with. Highly recommend this place! read more

I took my car to this place for the transmission to be fixed and instead they broke the engine and tried to charge me for the engine work they did and the transmission. It was a yelling match and i still had to pay some cash for the enigne which was crazy. My car has never been the same sense and the transmission shifts funky. I am saden that my car will never be what it was becasue of the horriable work they did and the extreme unprofessionalizm the owner showed. Dont go to this place and take it from someone who got royaly ripped off. read more
