After going to Petco a couple times, we found this place based on all the great reviews. They did an average job on the grooming and way too overpriced. My Aussie is 13 and not very active and cost $95. Walked out spending $195 in total. That's just ridiculous. That's about $50 more than any other place I've been over the past several years. When I questioned it, he said, as long as they come monthly, the price will stay the same. If you miss, the price may go up. More? Really? I was better off going to Petco. Anyway, unless your money grows on trees. save some money and do some research.

Unfortunately, what followed was a series of alarming incidents that no pet owner should ever experience. 1. Reckless Handling & Safety Neglect Upon pickup, **Rafael** allowed my **male Labrador to bolt out of the grooming area without a leash**--directly next to **Highway 74**, a dangerous road. Had I not been there, my dog could have been hit by a car. Additionally, they **improperly dislocated his choke chain** and failed to secure it back in place, further risking his safety. This level of carelessness is unacceptable. 2. Unauthorized Grooming & Injuries My **female Lab** was supposed to receive **only a bath and teeth cleaning**--**NOT a shave**. Yet, when I got her home, I discovered **blood marks all over her face and inside her ears**, indicating severe clipping injuries (photos attached). When I returned to confront them, **Rafael first claimed his mother "carefully shaved" her**, then backtracked when I reminded him **shaving was never requested**. His mother then **denied any injuries occurred under their care**, blatantly lying to my face. 3. No Accountability, No Trust A grooming business must prioritize **safety, transparency, and honesty**--Romero Pet Grooming failed on all fronts. Instead of taking responsibility, they **lied about the injuries** and dismissed my concerns. During our first visit, Stacey did an excellent job, but unfortunately, after her accident she has not been available when making an appointment. This led us to try other groomers. Initially, I was understanding when my dog was shaved down to less than half an inch, thinking it would be a fresh start and that I could manage his coat better with regular brushing. Fast forward almost 6 months, and after diligently caring for his coat, we felt ready to have him trimmed. He had grown back beautifully and was fluffy, with no mats except for a small area under his ears, which we had specifically discussed needing a trim. I personally dropped him off and had a thorough conversation with the groomer, expressing my desire for a trim to maintain his fluffiness. She assured me that it wouldn't be an issue as he looked "great". To my dismay, when I returned, I found that he had been shaved down to less than half an inch again! I was extremely frustrated, especially after our detailed conversation. They didn't even call me to discuss the decision before proceeding. It was evident that they had not followed my grooming requests, opting instead for the quickest and easiest solution. I cannot recommend this groomer if you wish to keep your doodle's coat fluffy. My dog was not matted, and it's clear that they did not even attempt to follow my instructions. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

I left a DM and only then got a response stating that someone was in an accident.. While I am very sensitive to situations especially when it involves something life threatening what I am not going to is have someone waste my time. I have a busy schedule and a text absolutely would have sufficed to let me know you could not make it, and I know people's minds are else where when accidents happen, but this is a business. I've had other business owners reach out when they had family emergencies. Will not contact again.

Happy usually gets really anxious after grooming appointments. She gets restless, stressed, and it takes a few days to settle down. This was the first time EVER that she came home calm. I was referred to Goldilocks from one of my neighbors who using Carissa and she was able to get me an appt in two days. I am sooooooo pleased with Mia's new look. She really tended to her coat and shaped her perfectly. She looks beautiful. The best I've ever seen her groomed. Pricier than Petco for sure but she comes to you, and your dog get undivided attention. I would definitely recommend Goldilocks!!
